Brisket, cornbread, and a bowl of chili

Great place for barbecue in the Mojave Desert. If you are traveling to Death Valley or coming to Tecopa to discover the Hot Springs Stopping for a meal and brew. lots of homemade specialties to sample.

    BBQ Brisket,chilli beans, honey cornbread.

This guy doesn't need to be on a reality BBQ box show. No wonder he's way out in the middle of nowhere. You have to get out here because the brisket is the most insanely & tastiest ,most importantly the tastes buds just marries it all together. His Bomb dipping sauce is amazing & Chili is excellent along with the honey cornbread ,it's to die for, Don't wait too long because it's a 100% thee best BBQ I've tasted yet. There's another BBQ in Beatty NV and it holds nothing compared to Tecopa brewery BBQ. Try the healing hot springs & while you're out here, go out to China Date farms & get you a date ice cream shake. Next trip I'm getting the 32oz brisket.

This place has some flavorful and juicy pork ribs & the brisket sandwich was Smokey & delicious! Don't even get me started on that candied bacon! This place is a gem & they really have perfected their craft. Prices are great as well. Went to the natural springs for a day trip & are here afterwards. Not a single regret! Check this place out!

Heading to Death Valley in search for Lunch.

Was closed for the summer. Long drive from Las Vegas, but fun and nice roads and scenery! Will return!

Good selection of beers brewed in-house as a perfect complement to the bbq served here. Jen is a total delight as hostess.

The pulled pork sandwich was amazing! We also enjoyed their corn bread and baked beans. Great food option in Tecopa!

Steaks and beer off a dusty road…read more What a surprise to eat this well in tiny, quiet, Tecopa. The menu is small but thoughtful with great cuts of meat, a few appetizers, soup, salad, pasta, beer, and wine. After a long day of hiking, a glass of wine was exactly what we needed. We started with a luxuriously creamy, well-seasoned potato soup and an orchard salad bursting with blueberries, apples, strawberries, pomegranate seeds, cheese, and a bright balsamic vinaigrette. Then we split a juicy filet mignon, the kind where your knife simply glides through. Even the veggie medley and mashed potatoes were perfection. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. The warm date bread with vanilla ice cream and date syrup is one of the best desserts I've ever had. A couple notes: look for the neon lights out front because it's incredibly dark and easy to miss the turn. The dining room is romantic but tiny, maybe five tables, so call ahead for a reservation. An immense thank you to the chef and owner for creating such a memorable meal in the middle of nowhere. Unexpected and oh so delicious.

We had our medical service dog with us and were the only people in the entire restaurant. When we walked in we were asked if our dog was a service dog, said yes, ordered our food and sat down near the door. From our table we could very clearly hear the cook in the back venting to the waitress about how anyone can just claim their dog is a service dog, clearly directed at us. It was uncomfortable to say the least. When the waitress came back out we offered to eat outside or show our documentation, she said she didn't need to see it and was fine with the dog staying inside, which we appreciated. To her credit, the waitress ended up being really warm and we actually had a nice conversation with her. She mentioned that only 31 people live in Shoshone full time and that most of the staff commutes in from Pahrump, which gave us a little more context for the town. The food was on the pricier side but I get it, running a restaurant in a place this small where you never quite know who's passing through has to be a challenge. The bathrooms were clean. Honestly though, we just wanted to finish our meal and get out. The experience left us feeling uncomfortable despite the waitress doing her best to turn it around.

We both own property in Sandy…read moreValley and actually love to support the local establishments as opposed to private equity bars etc that are now taking over America. The idle spurs, a once somewhat unassuming bar on Sandy Valleys main drag; has received a facelift on the exterior and also the interior. It has been somewhat transformed into an old time saloon. Kudos on the transformation, a little bit has gone a long way. It has been several years since I have stopped in for a pop here, and my wife has never been. We entered the bar and saw approximately 5 other patrons in the bar; mostly gaming at the bar top and 2 vaping in the lot. I noticed a few patrons out back behind the bar through the back door as well, there is a horseshoe pit back there: I wasn't aware of that. A nice feature if you ask me. We sat down and ordered a beer each, Sam Addams and a Coors light: the beers were delivered cold and promptly and we ran a tab as we figured we would stay for a few beers as our plan was to then go to the Pioneer Saloon. We conversed with one of the locals who came in, a very nice older gentleman who had lived in the area since 1988. What we were unaware of was the fact that it was Karaoke night. At about 640 a man came in, Jim was his name, and began setting up a karaoke stage. Within minutes, people started trickling into the Idle Spurs. Patrons were making their karaoke stage reservations and before I knew what had happened, the Idle Spurs Saloon suddenly was packed and rivaling the occupancy of any Las Vegas locals bar. Brian the bartender is truly a gem. One bartender working about 35 customers and nobody was waiting very long at all for a drink. He crushed it. I'm not quite certain I have ever been in a bar like this one. The locals were all so inviting and friendly. We were the outsiders, albeit land owners there, we don't actually reside in town. Nobody seemed to care, as we were embraced and welcomed by everyone we came in contact with. Jim, who ran the karaoke, has just about every song imaginable in his program. I was so relaxed and felt like such a part of the town, that even I took the stage and sang. The Idle Spurs Saloon is truly a one of a kind stop, harkening back to days gone by, where people weren't glued to a cell or constantly taking selfies or watching tic tok reels. This is a down home, friendly atmosphere where people are friendly, people have conversations, and people genuinely want to get to know one another, similar to what one probably encountered in the 1950's. The Idle Spurs is 100% my new favorite place to go, in the rather rare time that I may want to go out for a beer. Next time I visit I will absolutely try the snack shack, I was already full of tacos otherwise I would have tonight.

We had a friend tell us about this place so we decided to take the drive and see what it was all about. I wouldn't be able to tell you about the drive on the roads, but headed through the desert was a pretty easy ride. The inside looks like an old saloon. The bartender was very nice and you can tell that this is a local bar that drinks are cold and cheap. Do you keep in mind that this is kind of a dive bar so you do get that stale smoke smell when you leave. We happen to have our kids with us and they were able to come in the bar and sit at a table. They do have a food truck, which I heard from local patrons that the fried mushrooms and the pizza are very good so next time we stop off here I will definitely give them a try. The bathroom was clean overall a cool little place to stop and grab a drink when you're out and about.
