Overall cleanliness of the store is awful and the biggest change with taking away all of the front facing service from the dining room leaves you feeling unimportant as a customer.

40 minutes for wrong food that was cold after 3 tries at the drive thru. Had to look really hard for the second small burger. They need smaller rolls because the hamburgers are not anywhere near in size. Also need smaller containers for fries and rings since they look half full. Be sure and double check your order before leaving parking lot or you'll pay for things you might not have gotten. They got a second star because we'd been driving for hours and they had food available after 11 pm that was close by.

If I could give this negative stars I would. We quickly made a choice before going tree hunting that we would grab a quick burger, what a terrible choice. There was one waiter that was struggling to survive all on his own. I felt bad for him, he was in good spirits and trying hard but he was hung out to dry by management. The restaurant was dirty and unkept. You can see behind the employee area where the iced tea and side is. There was garbage on the ground, water or something gross all over the ground. It was grimy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Bathrooms were even worse, I don't want to even get into that. The food took forever to come out but half of our order was sitting in the window for pick up for about 10 minutes. As you can imagine that makes it cold. 3 tables got up and left while we were waiting. It's a real shame. Never again.

We got there right when it opened. It had not been cleaned from the night before. The trash cans where full, empty toilet paper rolls on the floor, and mold growing in the toilets. 26 minutes after ordering on the computer, we still didn't have food. RUN FAR AWAY!

The food is wonderful but the workers... not so much. I received my food and it was cold. There was maybe 3 cars in line and a lot staff. I asked to get it remade it took them 10 mins to remake it. There was a like of horse-playing inside the restaurant very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend coming here... no Wonder they have 2 stars.

It's Steak and Shake. You should know what you're getting here. It's been years since I've been to one, but what I love is it never changes. Layout, decor, uniforms and the same menu. They don't try to be something they're not. Sure. Some new toppings for burgers or milkshakes may be added, but It's still largely fries, burgers and shakes. And they've added some fancier burgers for those that don't like the thin patties they serve. One of my guilty pleasures is a Frisco melt. Something about thin burger patties with melted gooey cheese and thousand island sauce wedged between two buttery pieces of grilled sourdough bread takes me to a happy place. Yeah I got that. It's been my go to for years. I got Cajun seasoning added to my fries and that was good. Yes. The fries are skinny, but still tasty. And knowing I can't finish a whole shake I drank almost half of my husband's chocolate covered strawberry milkshake which I originally told him I would take two sips out of. It was just that good. Our service was great. We were seated instantly. Our server was friendly, checked on us a lot and very attentive. And at the beginning of our visit when I ordered my drink, she looked at me and told me I was beautiful. Having no makeup on and a long day, it was good to hear. It was a very casual relaxing meal. I've seen a lot of negative reviews for this location, but we enjoyed it and would come back.

First Visit (Sunday) Waited 10mins by the entrance to be seated with no one else in front of me. Waited another 15 mins after being seated before asking the manger who my waitress was cause no one had greeted me nor asked for my drink order at that time. She manager seemed unbothered when I mentioned how long I had been waiting. One of the waitresses eventually arrived for my food and drink order. Then I processed wait another 30-40 mins for my food to arrive. When the food came out the fries were cold and my sandwich was lukewarm. Long story short I did not eat/pay for the food and took my business (money) to another dining facility. Food: 4/10 (waited 30+mins for cold fries) Service 1/10 (read the above) Cleanliness 4/10 Condiment bottles filthy Very disappointed with mWill not be returning to this location again

We were seated promptly upon arrival, and the host staff were friendly and welcoming. The building itself is a standout. With its unique five-story layout, it feels like a destination before you even sit down. We were placed on the fifth floor, and the view overlooking the Catawba River was absolutely fantastic. Watching the water from above added a relaxing, scenic backdrop to the entire meal. There was a full bar within view of our seats and we had a drink before dinner. I had an Old Fashioned with my chosen bourbon and she had a craft beer. The drink had the feel of a professionally crafted cocktail vs someone tossing liquor and mixer in a glass. For dinner, I ordered the Bone-In Pork Chop over peach grits, and my wife chose the Sesame-Crusted Yellowfin Tuna. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavor Our wait staff was excellent--friendly, prompt, and attentive without feeling intrusive. The ambience fit the restaurant's theme beautifully: warm, inviting, and polished. Everything was clean and well kept. I would happily recommend The Pump House for casual dining, group outings, or a date night. It's a place that delivers great food, great service, and a great atmosphere all at once.

Waitress just didn't follow up. My water sat unrefilled for a long time. Fried okra didn't taste like okra - but that suited a few of the party. But a few of us expected okra flavor only to be disappointed. Temp on the fried green tomatoes should have been warmer but overall it was very tasty. Our appetizer empty plates sat for a while - we even stacked them so it was clear they should be cleared. Ordered the salmon, which was good, but so did my mom. We ordered different temps and they couldn't tell which was which. Wife ordered a salad and for the price, there was barely anything there. Mac and cheese is still the star. Oysters were decent - I expected larger. The half chicken was a generous portion - nice crispy outside but a bit dry inside. I wouldn't order it (I almost did, but my one of our party did). One of our party ordered a stuffed leeks and it was so salty it was inedible. They did fix it and admitted it should have never left the kitchen. By the time the replacement came out it was after 6:05 (and they had to leave at 6:15). So they didn't get to eat their celebratory meal with the rest of us. Not the memory you want for a meal. Desserts were good. Tort was dense - honestly not sure if that's normal. Crème brûlée was very good. For a $400+ experience and our history with Pump House, I expected more.

I am usually surprised at how easy it is to get a seat. It's a big space which helps but the food is so good. I always anticipate having to wait. Unless there is a sporting event next-door, I can usually find a place at the bar or get a table. If you sit at the bar, hope Mariah is there. She makes a good cocktail and she's incredibly sweet. The blackened chicken Caesar salad is also a huge hit. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy!

We were a little confused as to how to enter the restaurant, but I chalk that up to being tired. The space is wide open and airy, with large windows and skylights. The restaurant was nice and clean, save for something that was splashed on the wall in our booth - but it's a restaurant. There's going to be little picky things here and there and I'm sure it was wiped down by the end of the day! Our hostess was also our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu. I took her suggestions at every turn and did not regret it. We started off with the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts app and let me tell you - I could've eaten that as my entire meal. They are SO delicious and I'll be dreaming of them until I can return to Rock Hill. Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! We didn't really have room for dessert, but when we heard about the warm banana pudding, we were curious. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT. If you're a banana pudding fan, this will blow your mind. Absolutely incredible! It's both warm and cool at the same time, caramelized bananas and a torched meringue topping were bowl-licking delicious. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

On the menu for today I chose the Blue plate Special ($23) OG, bacon wrapped meatloaf, swirl potatoes, veggie du jour, stewed, collards, steakhouse, vinaigrette, cilantro Crema. The dish was Tender medallions of meatloaf, wrapped in savory bacon. Topped with a steakhouse vinaigrette, tangy, and savory, which had an amazing flavor by itself, I just wish it added more to the main. Which was slightly bland. Unfortunately, this cilantro Crema had no hints of cilantro. The actual star of the show is the collard greens. The Collard greens has a subtle kick, which is amazing and flavorful, and gives that little extra punch. Hand slammed fries ($5) Parmesan - rosemary dusted, roasted tomato malt vinaigrette. Tasty especially with their house made ketchup, but unfortunately, the fries were a little on the soggy side. And a Blake's cider (5). crisp and refreshing. Perfect for a southern Carolina afternoon. Overall, food was delicious, but could use just a hint of attentions to flavor. I would definitely recommend you give Kounter a try. The staff was friendly, attentive, and checked in at the right times, so no complaints there. The food was a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's better than average thanks to the service and setting, but the food is what holds it back from being a full 5-star experience.
