Listen...who doesn't love a whole meal for like $5?! I can take a whole army of people and only spend like $50 which is AWESOME!!! Right?! Let me start by saying, the food is pretty good. I have been coming to this location since high school when my friends were just starting to get jobs and like...a whole crew of them worked here. Anywho.. Good food, great price, awful service. And I mean..the staff for the most part is friendly, but WHEN did we get so SLOW? I remember coming here and being in and out within like 30 minutes. Now it takes 15 to just get a waitress to look your way. Forget trying to order through the drive thru, its faster to go inside. Steak N Shake...you've got it going on...PLEASE PLEASE retrain your people for customer service/hospitality/and for the love some URGENCY! read more

This was a first. My wife and I had lunch at this location. It wasn't busy, 11:30 a.m. Our fries, which are normally piping hot, were at room temperature, at best. When the manager approached our table to ask about our meal. I told him it was disappointing. He gave me a blank stare, offered an apology, and walked away. There was no offer to replace the fries. We would not have accepted. We weren't looking for a handout or price break. But anoffer would have been the right thing to do No business sense at all. This guy was clueless. We frequent this restaurant and had never seen him before. Hopefully, this was a one off. If he is there in the future, we will eat elsewhere. read more

Bottom line. Stay away from this place. While the food is good. The restaurant is dirty. Flies. Dust on the window led. Sticky tables. The staff wear the grey jacket, but I sure they were white at one time. Like the restaunt they are just dirty. No customer service. Order was wrong. even with it written down in front of them. No apologie. And good luck trying to get a refill. Stay away. Go to Five Guys. Better food. Good friendly service. Clean restaurant. read more

I was impressed with it being fast food. It was very good tasting and I liked all the customizations you can do. The place was very clean and you can watch them cook the burgers fresh. We got it after a long travel day and we're starving so we needed a quick option and also I was too hungry to even take a pic! But it looked great and also tasted great! read more

Horrible service. My wife went to get a shake for our 4 year old son because she had received a coupon for a free shake from another FL location. She was going to buy two shakes. The employee stated it was only valid in Indiana. My wife explained she received the coupon from a FL location. They still would not accept the coupon. read more

The customer service is good, I love the burgers for the price. Just need to correctly make people's orders. Half the time my burger isn't made how I ordered. The ambiance is nice and peaceful. Much better though than in past . Keep up the good work! read more

The evening staff are all extremely nice, every time I go. From the management, down to the drive thru order-taker. Everyone is very friendly, and the food and shakes are always good. read more

The blonde drive thru girl was AWESOME but the food is not. We got the #6 and the fries are barely cooked. Like, slightly warm mush barely cooked. My boyfriend said the sandwich was not good either. Our milkshakes were delicious and again the drive thru girl was fantastic but the food? I'll pass next time. read more

This is a zero, or lower. Never have I been treated as badly as I was here. I ordered from the kiosk, like at Wawa, I have massive food allergies. Apparently the kiosk felt that I should have onion, even though I am extremely allergic to it. Manager blamed me for everything, and a young lady called me every cuss word she could think of. I told her that her momma needed to come wash her mouth out with soap, and it got worse! Bunch of hateful inbreds, this place should be shut down!!! read more

Lacy was so nice and helpful and pretty and awesome. Food was great. Very clean. Drink very refreshing.

Food is usually good and service is usually pretty good too Sometimes have to wait a little bit drive-through but not too bad.

One of the better Steak 'n Shake's around and I ought to know. They've been a favorite of mine since my first steak burger back in the 80s at the old one near the Winter Park mall. Also miss the old Daytona one too. Sweet 50s vibe there. Once drove a first date from Flagler College to Daytona, closest one at the time, not realizing she was vegan, for a steakburger...that went well. :/ Used to do the Altamonte one so often, recovering mall rat here, they offered me a high school job and I was one of the happiest bus boys ever, dreaming of what to eat when my shift was over; and all the waitresses always treated me really nice. Best few months ever; those junior high school hours. Lol I also think they did a really good job of weathering the Great Repression by cutting portions and prices and rolling out that $4 menu and happy hour. Was looking at a menu from the early 90s and prices really haven't gone up all that much. I generally get the triple with mustard, ketchup, and pickle with fries, chili, and shake; for which there's been this awesome coupon mailer out there. Breakfast's underrated and those dollar breakfast tacos are awesome. One of the few remaining places that'll refill your coffee without slapping you for another five bucks everytime. This one's better than the others. I can't explain it other than just to say it. It's just better. I won't do the closest one to my house because it's right at the bottom of the list along with the Wildwood one; that one's gross. Winter Park's not much better either (I've had some awful experiences there) but it's the closest one we'll sometimes do. Altamonte's okay. Sanford's okay. Palm Coast's okay. Daytona's okay. Both UCF locations are okay. Lake City's okay...but this one, this one always better. It's better, it's busier. People seem to Love it. And don't mind those other reviews. Everything in the Deltona/Orange City area gets bad reviews from yelpers with a handful of friends and one or two reviews, you should take them with a grain of salt. And with family nearby, we thankfully end up here often enough, and I couldn't be happier. RIP taco salad - jyea I know, it's not the same. RIP Philly steak burger. Mnm RIP pepper sauce. Also have to thank them for peaking my interest in marketing. I'll never forget when you ordered the platter special (used to be able to pick any two sides for $1.79), with two cups of chili's, they'd bring you out a bowl; except that bowl usually amounted to no more than a cup of chili. read more

It's good but the burgers are a lil greasy and if you get the milkshake it's basically just ice cream in a cup

This place is so disappointing now. I have been going here very sporadically since 2000. I will say I do like the kiosk ordering and waitress free atmosphere now (because let's face it, the waitresses here were always in a bad mood anyway). I decided to take my daughter here for a quick dinner. She enjoyed her burger but we both hated or stone cold fries. My garlic burger was gross. That made me sad bc it used to be my favorite thing on the menu. I didn't see any $4 meal options like before. Even the kids meal was $5.49! The restaurant was disgusting which was my biggest issue. Every table had the previous persons spills and garbage on it. At least hire someone to maintain the cleanliness of the dining area. Even the Diet Coke tasted off. I have no idea what happened to this place. read more

Steak ’n Shake - This was all I could eat. And I only ate this much bc I was starving - Burgers Near Me - Orange City, Florida

All around good place to eat. Service is good & ambiance normal for a restaurant. Food is delicious & the shakes are delectable.

Go back to the original model of how Steak 'n Shake was supposed to a restaurant not a workaurant. Forced to use kiosks many didn't work pay in advance and scanning QR codes at the drink station has killed the enjoyment my wife and I had for the place. We don't plan on setting foot inside another one after trying a few across the southern US. The ambiance is sadly fast food style. The burgers and fries are still good, but it's better to just use the drive through. I won't bother going in anymore. read more

Just received my delivery order and only received 2 meals of the 4 I ordered. No apologies only that I had to go pick up my other 2, since they couldn't have it redelivered. What did I pay delivery fee and tip for? read more

We have tried 3 times, different days and times. The drive thru is beyond slow! First time waited 40 min never made it to the window!! Second time 30 min, never made it to the window!! Today, there is a line in the store and 12 min, never even moved!!!!! How do they stay in business?!? read more

Half price happy hour on Milkshakes between 2pm-5pm is what brought us here, the aroma of greasy burgers and fries are what kept us here! This location is always busy. You can expect to wait in line for a few minutes while the waitresses hustle to get tables clean and ready. Is it worth the wait? My inner frugal says HECK YES! Where else can you get two large milkshakes and 2 meals for under $15? Besides drive-thru! I'm loving their $4 menu, it has classics like burger, fries, hot dogs, and chili. Healthy? No...but they have options for that too! If you get the $4 chicken tender meal (my fave) try the honey mustard sauce! Great customer service, too! read more

Oh ya!! Go here if you want to spend an actual entire HOUR in the DRIVE-THRU with no explanation and watch multiple people get let off shift while in the middle of a busy hour!! This is insane! They must only take care of walk in customers Terrible way to run any business and my standards aren't very high for any fast food chain read more

Lets think about this for a minute. The place is always packed. You have to wait to sit down. Daily Happy Hour 2 for 1 milkshakes any flavor you want. Very busy waitress plus they have to make your milkshake by hand but they still find time to check on you. Great burgers and fries. Rrasonable prices. Then people give this place less than 5 stars? Dont bite the hand that feeds you. read more

Rude customer service, completely disorganized and no one seems to know what is going on with orders. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no he's busy! I work in customer service and I am a manager and NEVER would I turn a customer away or have a co-worker turn a customer away. And on top of all it the person I spoke to immediately blamed the delivery service driver. Steak N Steak you need to train your employees in the Art of service and how to properly handle customers. I was not rude, I didn't yell, I didn't use profanity. There was no excuse for how my situation was just handled! read more

The prices, good and service were all amazing!! There weren't many options for someone who doesn't eat meat. I ordered the garden bowl and everything was fresh and delicious, and portion was huge for under 4 bucks. The rest of the family ordered bacon burgers and chicken strips with fries all under four bucks. We all got milk shakes with fresh fruit and they were all ole too good. read more

This seriously is the worst place in Orange City. At any time of the day the drive thru will at least take you 40 minutes and to top it all off the menu prices posted on line for their store are different from their menu board so add another 10 minute argument to your time when when you order. Can't believe this place has survived Covid. read more

I guess the iPhone app to order for pickup doesn't work very well. I ordered a triple steakburger with cheese and all the fixings, only to get home and find that I lierally got two pieces of bread and 3 burger pattys, and that's it. Did I do something wrong on the app??? Geez. read more

I went through drive thru 2 days in a row and had my order taken and received by a team member named Cassidy W. She is the sweetest lady who works there and stays positive even when there's angry guests in front of me. She took my order quick and read still very nice to me even though the guests in front of her got angry for, what sounded like, no reason. I believe she needs to be rewarded for how well she does and her positive attitude!! I will definitely be going back again! read more

Be careful here. We got our debit card information stolen from one of their touch screen order menus. Called and told the manager and requested a call from the owner because I wanted to make sure they told her but never received a call. I find it hard to believe that an employee wasn't involved because it's next to impossible to get a reader on there without someone there seeing you. Will never go to any Steak 'n Shake again read more

Only thing good was the service. Food was horrible! Country Skillet come on it's not that hard to make. Forgot the sausage? Well I shouldn't say forgot after all there was a small, small piece in the sausage gravy. Skillet also had a funny taste to it. You say ask for a Manager...that's a joke none to be found. Well ok Steak N Shake I will not be back to your nothing special restaurant. I'll spend my money at a breakfast place that's not some big fancy chain. Better food and service from mom & pop..... Management needs to be GONE !!!!! Walk by customers and ask if everything is ok and doesn't wait for a response and keeps walking. The coffee was filled and was polite and prompt. Again the management NEEDS TO BE GONE !!!! Rude management in the morning . I wouldn't treat my enemy the way he treated me. This Steak and Shake rates in the top 10% of all the ones I've eaten at. It does get quite busy at lunch time so that does speak good for this location since there are lots of choices in the immediate area. We've always have gotten good service and the food is presented well. I love their banana shakes always order the premium ones in case you don't know they use fresh bananas for the premiums verses flavorings for the regular ones. This is solid burger joint. read more

HOLY SNORKIES THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS BUSY. I'm giving it four stars only because they make some of the best burgers, fries and shakes anywhere around. I'd give them a 2 star rating for speed of service--usually lots of empty dirty tables and a long wait to be seated and more often than not, a long wait for servers to take order, check up on orders, etc. Unless you sit at the bar. Then you get pretty darn good service. The prices are decent, the burgers are YUMMY. I love the cheddar cheese steak burger and the mushroom and swiss burgers. I also love the parmesan fries. I'd take the wait and dirty tables (actually, to be fair, the whole place is rather a wreck--the FLOOR desperately needs to be stripped and waxed, the windows and glass between booths regularly cleaned, menus need to be wiped clean, the windows need to be washed, the tables need to have everything removed and wiped as well as the seats--but I guess with their turn around they figure people won't care about the cleanliness...and they don't seem to. I have to just ignore my OCD about clean restaurants when I am there. Still, I'd rather eat a burger there than Wendys, McDonald's or Burger King any day of the week. And the shakes are to die for delicious. read more
