I have always been a fan of Steak & Shake when in more northern states. I was completely disappointed. The drive-thru was very slow - which if you want fresh food you have to wait a little. This was my thought. The food was not fresh for the amount of time waited. My fries were not hot. Im glad due to the ratings that I ordered lightly because I usually order multiple items -desserts and all. The customer service was limited. We were not greeted at the window. I can only imagine the inside. I did not go inside because I wanted to review the company from another aspect since many of the others are from the inside lobby. I will not recommend or revisit this location. I am saddened to see many of the surrounding locations in Atlanta do not have greater reviews/ratings than this. I would stop at this location just as quick as I would Buc'cees for a sandwich.

Do not recommend this place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a sign that directed us to order at the kiosks. Then we stepped on floors that were so greasy, I'm surprised nobody slipped and fell. The floors, the table, and counters were dirty. Nobody wiped them down between guests, pieces of trash lay scattered everywhere. The self-cleanup trash can/dishes area was full and not getting cleaned out fast enough. Mind you, the place wasn't too busy while I was there. The drinks came somewhat quickly, the food was very slow. The food was ok. Ketchup pumps were empty and the container of ketchup packets was almost empty, too. The women's bathroom was out of order.

No one to help. No cashier. Cash not accepted. Do they want any business?

We do not have Steak & Shake where I live (AZ) so we were happy to see one while on vacation driving from Atlanta to Macon. No one to greet you. You can only order using a kiosk. It took us eight minutes to get our order placed. The server who brought our food didn't really say much. Women's room out of order. Handwritten sign on the men's room "unisex bathroom one person at a time only." When you go in the bathroom, there's no lock on the door. The toilet seats slide off. Very unkept place. No one seemed enthusiastic to be working here. The food was good and served hot.

Meal: 3/10 Service: 5/10 Sanitation: 3/10 So I ordered a double stack burger and fries with a Oreo milkshake, I was all set to enjoy it! Until that mirage of a frosty beverage turned out to be Oreos whipped cream and expired milk-- I'll let you imagine how that tasted . Furthermore, while I waited for service I noticed there were a couple abandoned milkshakes on the pickup counter and more than a few on the lobby tables that had definitely been the distress to some other poor souls tastebuds. INSTEAD of stopping any further milkshake purchases which led to me along with many others tonight finding out what a spoiled milkshake tastes like. I should also mention that their bathrooms are labeled "1 at a time UNISEX" and are probably as filthy as their food storage facility in the back. I don't need to do any inspecting to know they probably violated every health code in the book so save yourself money and an upset stomach and just go elsewhere.

Double steak burger. Get the special..with fries and a small milkshake for five bucks!

The burger, fries, and milkshake were all delicious! Fresh, hot, courteous service at the drive-thru!! Additionally, I appreciate the cashier wearing gloves.

Directions how to redeem an e gift card produced by the Steak 'n Shake corporation
    Tom S.

When visiting the location in Acworth, Ga and presenting my e gift card via my phone to the hard working young lady. She asks her GM to unlock the pos (point of sale) system so she can easily ring up my order. Oh no the says the GM woman. Just use the kiosk she says to me. Mind you I'm on my 4th e gift card and have been coming to this location for over 15 years. The past 2 years at least have been struggling with new employees who have never been trained to understand how to redeem an E gift card. Usually they are very nice and helpful when I explain to them that the kiosk is not programmed for redeeming/purchasing with an e gift card. Unfortunately the other day was my lucky day to have met the worst customer service rep and she is the GM. When I spoke back to her letting her know that I have been using my e gift card at that spot up front for quite sometime when an employee rings me up. She was adamant that there was no way I had ever done that and to use the kiosk. Ma'am it doesn't work! Yes it does she says! I don't like your tone you can leave if you don't change you tone she says. Ma'am I don't have a tone I just want to order my food with the my e gift card and it needs to be rung up by one of you all. No it doesn't she says I said ma'am you don't know what your talking about if you will just look at my card you will see the directions. You can leave she says. Why do I need to leave for just trying to get you to ring up my order that I am unable to do for myself per Steak 'n Shake. Leave she says. This is crazy and grossly unfair if you need to call the police you can I am absolutely doing nothing wrong. Well she did and I went outside to speak to them and due to her willful ignorance because she didn't read and understand as a GM no less that an e gift card is to be presented to a cashier for redemption. I suffered! Which is/was absolutely disgraceful! What are you supposed to do with a $50 e card produced by the corporation becomes useless because of an employee who is drunk on power and disdain for the customer. Upper management gets an F for allowing this angry woman to be in at a level of GM. I feel sorry for the employees that get stuck working under her. She bullied that poor young lady who knew what to do for me the customer but wasn't allowed because the mean boss stopped her and sent her back to the drive through. She looked at me sheepishly. I felt so sorry for her. (See attached directions per corporate Steak 'n Shake how to redeem an e gift card in-store) I can understand someone having a bad day but this went beyond just a bad day. Just awful!!

Despite our waiter having 3 different face tattoos he was the kindness their. He was friendly and brought out food super fast. 16$ for two - single steak-burger and fries - triple steak-burger and fries - orange freeze milkshake - chocolate milkshake Service was face and the food was great. Someone else had an accident and the manager was happy to help and assist the family. Great management. The WATER was some good water.

Really good service and hot fresh food. There's only ONE Steak n' Shake in the New Orleans region and that's about 40 miles North of where I live. I don't normally frequent burger places but this is one of my favs and their shakes are absolutely delish! Didn't get a shake today cuz I gotta watch my girly figure. These places will evolve your 16 oz. Coca-Cola shape into a 1 liter of Coke fast.

Just put a sign in front of it & the roaches will clean it up eventually.

Service: Our waitress was Armani and she was amazing!!! From the time she came to our table to introduce herself until we paid our bills, she was energetic, continously checked on us, and immediately fixed any issues from the kitchen. If you go, ask to sit in Armani's section. Food: Our table of 5 had mixed reviews on the food. Some thought the wings were good while others thought they were unseasoned other than the sauce on top. We generally enjoyed the Jamaican patties despite the confusion on our "patty flight." We were initially given 2 curry patties and later told it was because they didn't have anymore jerk patties. However, we were later sent a jerk patty, so that was confusing. Entertainment: This is where they lacked and why I wouldn't come back. We arrived at 7:30pm. During the time we were there, there was a boring old school play list and the songs people chose for karaoke. We came for karaoke because we'd been told by the bartender that night gets packed. That's not true, at any given time there weren't anymore than 10 tables with guests. Additionally, management was very strict about what songs could be performed for karaoke and told paying customers we couldn't curse. When I asked about this policy, the manger told me it was the traditional global way to be family friendly. If that's your thing, this would be the place for you but it didn't fit our needs for a girl's night and the women in our group were 35-55. Lastly, the two managers appeared to micromanage every move the servers and bartenders made, it just felt weird.

There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. The furniture was a bit worn and the dishes were plain white plastic but on the whole it was a lovely place. My server was pleasant and attentive.

There is also street parking. Wait to be seated. Best to have a reservation during peak hours. Weekend brunch and evenings I imagine to be busy. QR code menu. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. Even though the drink menu says the days and hours for those prices, you have to ask for the after those hours. The menu has your typical southern brunch flare with a twist. The drink menu is good. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. Watermelon savage. I also tried the scrambled eggs - way too salty. It was inedible. My brunch partner didn't like the grits or chicken biscuit that it came with. Service was fine. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was decent. It seems like a nice place to grab drinks and catch a vibe or be the vibe. Gratuity is included. Overall, decent spot. Otherwise, stay away. The service was terrible, the food was disappointing, and honestly, even the floor looked neglected. When I arrived, I was told there would be a 5-10 minute wait. No problem. I waited patiently and was in a perfectly good mood. After being seated, however, I waited another 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my table. Eventually, I was served by an employee I'll call N (I'm leaving out the full name because I'm not interested in getting anyone fired). But if N finds serving customers that unbearable, perhaps customer service isn't the right job. I understand servers have multiple tables and need to move quickly, but there's a difference between being efficient and making customers feel invisible. I ordered two meals and ended up waiting around 20 minutes. Twenty minutes. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me were already receiving their food before mine even showed up. Even then, I didn't complain or rush anyone. When my food finally arrived, I asked for a side of BBQ sauce. Fifteen minutes later, I still hadn't received it, so I politely asked N about it. Her response was essentially: "The kitchen is out of sauce, okay? Do you know how busy we are? We don't have time to deal with sauce issues." Excuse me? Not only was the response unprofessional, but the attitude was unbelievably rude. I'm not the one working in the kitchen. If the sauce was unavailable, why couldn't someone simply tell me that from the beginning? Especially when there seemed to be plenty of time for casual conversations with other tables. Instead of communicating the problem, I was made to feel like it was somehow my fault for asking. Since when does a server blame the customer for a restaurant's mistake? Is this really the standard of customer service Chili's hires for? After that interaction, N simply walked away. Since I no longer had the sauce I ordered, I decided to take my food to go. N walked past my table multiple times without even acknowledging me. Eventually, I had to ask another employee for a to-go box because I couldn't get any assistance. I sincerely hope the $0 tip accurately reflected the quality of the service I received. One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Oh, and one more thing. You might want to do something about the floor near the restroom before it becomes a liability issue. It was so dirty, sticky, and poorly maintained that I nearly slipped multiple times. I honestly lost count of how many times I almost fell. At some point, that's not just unpleasant--it's a safety hazard. If this is the level of cleanliness being tolerated in an area customers walk through every day, it says a lot about how little attention is being paid to the overall condition of the restaurant.
