We dont have a Steak n Shake near us so it has always been a treat stopping here in our travels. But now never again. And we are so turned off we may never visit any Steak n Shake again. Dirty bathrooms, dirty restaurant, cold burgers, missing burger and fry (necessitating a wait for the food after the rest ate.) Just gross. SNS, you can do so much better! The positive: the manager was nice. read more

Rude staff. Locked us out as we were eating in lobby because they wanted to close early. Had to finish meal in car only to find the burgers we ordered had a nasty buttery mayo sauce on it and not a small amount. Response from guy behind counter was "call the manager if you don't like it" read more

Steak ’n Shake - Fast Food Near Me - Marion, Ohio

Just go somewhere else. We hadn't been here since before covid. Back then we loved this place. Since then, the bean counters have wrecked it. You get your food with zero human contact or service. Order only through a kiosk. Stripped down food menu, only burgers, chili and fries. Used to have servers, real China, silverware, and Coke in a glass. Now it's serve yourself and all disposables. You have to scan your receipt QR code to turn on the drink machine. Restrooms were disgustingly filthy, so I can only assume the kitchen is, too. Food was OK, portions were decent. Overall, Steak and Shake seems to be circling the drain. Very sad. read more

I still love the milkshakes. This was a much thicker shake than last time and I am thrilled they still have paper straws. Yes I got Oreo again, I am a creature of habit and I regret nothing. They got me the milkshake right away when I went through dribe-thru. I did not go inside so I can't comment on that. How can I beat half price happy hour? read more

I ordered food online. I go to pick it up and the dining room is closed because of no staff. So I go to curbside pick up and call the number. Women that answered was super nice and told me that my order was not ready they but as soon as it was she'd bring it out. She brought it out and was very apologetic for the wait. Food was correct and good. read more

Don't, just don't do it! I'm telling you now if you do you'll regret it. Like ordering from a kiosk? Well then maybe this place is for you! Like waiting an extended period of time for your food? Slow slow slow and did I mention slow? If you have an hour for lunch don't come here. The people are pretty nice, food is great Steak 'N Shake, place is clean but yeah, 20 minutes for a milkshake? Nope. Also, when I ate there I got a Diet Coke to drink and when I went to leave asked for a refill but asked for Iced Tea and they absolutely would *NOT* do it. They said I'd have to buy a new drink. Wha?? I'm 48 years old and have never ever ever been told I'd have to pay for a new drink to get something different than my original. Whatever. Very strange! read more

Awesome service the lady was super nice I didn't catch her name unfortunately but she was working alone it seemed like and was very sweet

They were out of onion rings, fries and milkshakes. The lobby wasn't very clean and the bathrooms were disgusting. The food was good and the staff were friendly and offered us free drinks as an apology for being out of the sides and shakes. read more

This mens restroom might as well have been an outhouse. There was feces visible on the toilet that you could see from the door. There were cleaning utensils that were on the disgustingly dirty floor. The smell was of an port-a-potty. This was absolutely disgusting. I wanted to shower upon leaving. I double this restroom has ever been deep cleaned. read more

They should rename it, "Get the Steak, We'll Screw up the Shake!" 58 minutes to get 7 kids shakes in the drive through..... 1 was missing and they were soupy when we got them. The night before during dine in the Shake order was completely forgotten, after reordering the shakes finally showed up after the meal and they were wrong. Plus After asking repeatedly for napkins we went to the counter for napkins, 6 people standing there doing nothing. Handed us 2 napkins for a table of 5. I guess 2 stars since the burgers are what you expect.... read more

Drive thru not working? How does a drive thru not work? Went inside to order & it was chaotic & absolutely unorganized. One girl took my order at the counter, but couldn't cash me out. She told the next girl to cash me out. When I handed her my gift card she said I'd have to step over to the cash register. There were at least 8 ppl in a family standing in front of the register. How was I to get through them? The cook apologized that it took so long because she had to go to the back to get another pan of prime burger patties. The waitress station is a mess... would it really kill them to bend over & pick up the napkins, straw papers, french fries on the floor or sweep or even kick them over to the trash can? I guess my OCD is on overload seeing this mess. I their burgers, but come on folks, GET IT TOGETHER! Oh, the reason the drive thru is down... because they are short handed. (This came directly from an employee) DON'T tell me that the drive thru is closed and a technician is on his way to fix it when it's an employee issue. read more

This place is FILTHY from top to bottom! We had to order from an indoor kiosk which was covered in greasy fingerprints. No indoor dining, but wouldn't want to eat there anyway...floors, tables, glass are dirty. Oh, and the bathrooms~absolutely nasty! Garbage overflowing, toilet paper all over the floor. Empty soap and towel dispenser. Do yourself a favor and keep driving! read more

absolutely terrible service. First of all, when I ordered it was very clear how my experience was going to go, but I still maintain a positive attitude, hoping to cheer up the person on the other side of the ordering microphone. I order and then I get up to the window and I pay for my shakes, and as the girl at the window was handing me my shakes, accidentally clamped onto her finger as I was grabbing the straws. I had one milkshake in one hand as I had the other milkshake in the other. She exclaimed, as if I was choking her to death. no big deal, I apologize profusely, and very nicely. After that, she says all good and gives me a smile, but as I roll up my window, I see her give me a very clear look of disgust. As me and my girlfriend pull away, we check our milkshakes and come to realize she gave us the wrong ones. after that, we pull around and wait another 20 minutes because we probably had to wait for the entire staff to take a bathroom break. As we pull up to the window, we let that same girl know that we got the wrong order. She very rudely said "Alright cool", and asked for a receipt. Then she insisted that she gave us a receipt despite us literally declining to be given one our first time through. She rolls her eyes as if she didn't see us 20 minutes before. Despite my sound of anger through this review, I was very polite. It takes a lot to upset me as a customer. She showed zero sign of being sorry after handing us our shakes that were finally correct. Be humbled. I'm not a creep and not every guy is a creep waiting to hit on a Steak 'n shake cashier. I didn't catch her name, but she had green eyes and black/dark brown hair. Buck up or quit. read more

This place is horrible!!!! My son and I went in for dinner tonight, place wasn't even that busy. We stood for over 10 minutes waiting to be seated and were not even acknowledged. Finally I approached the counter and asked to be seated, I was rudely told I would have to wait. Customers that were seated told us to run, the food they were served was horrible and they said service was very slow. I decided to hit the restroom before leaving and one of the line cooks came out of the bathroom stall and went straight out the door without so much as a hand rinse. Needless to say I will never go back!!! read more

Here's the deal, I travel a lot for work and I am completely burnt out on the limited fast food breakfast choices. The usual biscuit combos and pancakes gets old fast. What a pleasant surprise to see a new item at Steak and Shake. The soft flour taco is not just a reconstructed breakfast burrito, it's actually well seasoned and pretty tasty! It's reasonably priced at .99 cents, but truthfully it could go for about .89 cents. Anyway, if your traveling and need a break from the other burger joint's breakfast, give this a try. Reasonably priced, friendly & fast drive thru, and a good cup of coffee. read more

Pros: milkshakes are great, price is great Average: burgers are acceptable Cons: fries are flavorless, giant centipede sauntering through the restaurant like it owned the place I can't get over the giant centipede. If the centipede hadn't existed, I'd probably opt for shakes from the drive thru, but now never again. read more

The tastiest burger out there today! No restaurant provides a better tasting burger with a good quantity of high quality garnishments. Today, we went through the drive thru. Normally we go inside. I'm not an impatient person and I would prefer that they take their time to present a quality product - which they did today. Unlike the other drive thrus at restaurants, they have an excellent microphone and speaker system. The lady who took our order was very easy to hear and understand and was extremely friendly and professional. Our experiences have always been fantastic. read more

Service was awful. No silverware, no napkins with chili, which was just over half full. I pay for a cup of chili, I expect a cup of chili!! Now about my sandwich, it was good, except cheese was not melted, on a "melt" sandwich. French fries were cold. Guestcheckl came with food and we never saw waitress again. Husband had coffee. Never offered a refill. Son said milkshake was good. read more

This place is going downhill fast. Often see people turn around & leave. We've done that too because service is so slow. Too bad because it could be a great place. Guessing it's the management. Probably the worst I have ever seen. We also got dirty looks from some of the waters. If you can't tell I would not recommend whatsoever. read more

If i could rate 0 stars i would. Every time i go to this steak and shake they are always slow as hell considering it's a FAST FOOD RESTAURANT. On google maps it states that they are open 24/7 but the past two days i have gone there and they have told me "i'm sorry we are closed". BITCH ITS 9:30. they say it's due to "inspection" bitch the restaurant is dirty as hell it's not passing it's inspection anyways. The workers there don't understand that some people look forward to their milkshakes and should appreciate their customers more. read more

I really love steak and shake. Don't get me wrong, that's why I'm so heavily disappointed by this place in particular. I work hard for my money, I know nobody's perfect and fast food is a difficult industry. So a few mistakes here and there are ok. But I'm not exaggerating, literally every single time I come here they mess up my food. I want a western BBQ & Bacon without raw onion. In the 7 times I have eaten here, they have not got that correct one time. They always put raw onions on the burger. I don't expect perfection, but 7 times in a row? That's a bit ridiculous. Also, I ordered a cheese cup and it had something in it! I have no clue what it was but my leading theory is that it was a zip tie. read more

The food is good and if you want a milkshake this is a good place to patronize. The prices are very reasonable, but it is typically at least an hour by the time you walk in the door until you are finished, so never be in a hurry here. If you have coupons, they sometimes have problems getting them to ring up right. I am not sure what the manager's name is, but he is very rude. Maybe you get what you pay for, so just don't expect much, although most of the servers are very nice. read more

Went with my husband and two children for breakfast on Father's Day. There was probably 3 waitstaff in the floor and maybe 5 tables. The place was FILTHY! Tables were not cleaned off and there was so much food and filth under the tables and floor. Place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Also the waiter never came to even take a drink order but as we were leaving we saw them laughing and talking with each other and we saw how absolutely disgusting the kitchen was as well. Went through drive thru this morning for breakfast. Nice to be able to order dinner for breakfast from time to time and steak n shake is one of the few chains to allow you to do so. i like this chain because the vast majority of the time their food is made to order. Don't mind waiting a few extra minutes if you know that you are getting fresh food. Drive through guy was courteous and efficient. Often stop here when traveling as it is convenient to sr 23. read more

Food was good however service was terrible. The waitress never refilled our drinks and never brought us our revised check. She brought our check out while we were eating after we had told her we would be ordering milkshakes to go. Our tickets were messed up and a milkshake was wrong but we were over it and just left. Don't recommend. read more
