So I order a triple steak burger with all the condiments, a side of onion rings and fries, and a eggnog shake using the Ubereats app. What I GOT was a burger with only ketchup and mayo, two small orders of fries that were cold, and no shake at all after waiting a HOUR for them to make my order. I dumped eighteen dollars into a uber eats order for a meal that's not even worth three. Next time I'll be making sure to order from IHOP instead of this place, and I can only imagine how horrid it is going in there in person. Steak n Shake, you need to really up your quality. I wish I could give this place no stars. I brought my family to Florida and kept telling everyone how good Steak n Shake was. After convincing them to go and stopping in at 11:30PM we walked into the dirtiest restaurant ever. 9 tables had not been cleared and in fact all 9 remained full of waste until we left. I counted 4 employees that night and only two tables with guests. If you can't clean off the visible part of your restaurant do you actually want me to believe that you exercise a decent cleaning process in the kitchen? If you are a manager here please use this as constructive criticism. When your staff look like they just rolled out of bed and slept in their clothes and you cannot maintain the dining area you are basically telling all guests you do not care. We have been to the Ulmerton Largo Steak and Shake numerous times and have always had great service. We love the food and the prices are so affordable. However, the last couple of times we were there, we have found the restaurant quite dirty, smudges on the glass partition between the booth, floor extremely dirty and wet in some places.and observed a staff member wipe the booth seat and then the table with the same cloth. Las time we ate there, the wait was near 30 minutes, the salad came at the same time as the meal, and the food was cold. Walked in and the waitresses were in a corner talking. The girls looked up multiple times before one finally walked over and said 'I'll clean this table up and you can sit here.' Open booths lined the back wall. My stepdad simply asked why we couldn't sit at one of the already clean tables, and the seater got a horrible attitude, and once we sat at the cleaned off table, didn't say another word to us. Instead she stuck her nose up and walked away. Once seated, we sat there for close to 15 minutes with NO service. Not even a drink order. However, the customers coming in after us were being seated and helped. Every table needed to be wiped off because they were conversing in the corner every time we looked at them. After seeing a dozen or so ads for the latter within a very short period of time, my mother developed a yen for one of their Side-By-Side Milk Shakes, which combine two flavors in the same glass. Fortunately, this location is less than two minutes away, so I hopped in the car and headed over for a couple of take-out orders. Not having had any of the food, I can't comment on its quality - the extensive menu is big on steakburgers, sandwich melts, soups, salads, and chili - but the place looked immaculate and the kid at the counter was friendly and polite, calling me "Sir" at the end of each sentence. (As this tends to happen often in this area, I'm not sure if it's simply a Southern thing or a sign I'm starting to look old.) Both the chocolate/coffee mocha and strawberry/peach were thick and rich and proved to be flavorful combos. This Steak and Shake needs some work. I continue to try and see if I have a different finding. With each visit to this establishment, I find so many things going on. First on entering, you notice the number of tables that are dirty, and just sitting that way. No one in the place is attempting to clean them off. Generally about 50% of the tables are dirty. This isn't just not wiped off. But also left with dirty dishes, and glasses sitting. The floors are slippery under your feet from the amount of grease on them. In the past 3 visits I have noted the person that might be portraying management to stand and have conversations with employees and visitors for 30-90 minutes. This continues to go on while the dirty tables sit. I have experienced having to wait to be seated while the manager continues her conversations. I have noted many times when I visit there may be 2 wait staff, and one of them is doing the work. Now the food. I only give 2 stars because the food is always good. Cooked well. The burgers are tender. Prepared just as requested. The milk shakes are also very tasty. I always visit this place in the middle of the night. It is understandable the rules may be a bit more relaxed. However in my opinion as far as staff goes, there are many improvements that could be made. read more

I come to this place so many times due to excellent service, except for today. I was not aware that now the 7x7 is no longer a to go item. The supervisor or manager made the exception due to I've been here so many times, when the cook was asked how to pack it to go, one of the food prep guys says "just squish it you are not supposed to order it to go, thats what they get for ordering it." Came here again, on another visit to the Tampa Bay area. This time we tried the breakfasts, and I must say, you have to try the breakfast skillets they offer....sooooo goooood!!!!! I ordered the Portobello N' Sausage skillet and it was incredibly delicious! It came in a cute little skillet with eggs, sausage crumbles, portobello mushrooms, carmelized onions with cheese melted on top and served with either a bagel or biscuit. I've been to Steak N Shake in different cities, inlcuding Tampa and Kissimmee, and I greatly appreciate the consistency of the high standards that they hold for food and service at all of them. I've never once had a bad experience. This particular location was no different. My husband and I were seated as soon as we arrived, and promptly brought our drink orders. On this night, I tried a bowl of their chili, which was quite tasty. For our meals, I had an avocado chicken sandwhich and my husband had another type of chicken sandwhich. They were both delicious. I must say that the fries are a highlight of the meal. They look tiny, but taste amazing. This restaurant gives a new meaning to "Fast Food", delivering a true dine-in atmosphere with freshly yet quickly made to order meals. Our waitress was also attentive, yet not overbearing. Can you post a minus star? It is hard to even know where to begin how horrible this experience was. I am going thru chemo right now so food is an issue to start with. You have to follow what cravings you have. I wanted a good milkshake and a frisco melt, should be easy enough, right? Nope, the milkshake was icee water and the top was not put on right so most of it spilled all over the car.... note that if it was a REAL milkshake like advertised it would have been too think to instantly empty all over in the car. The frisco melt was a joke, raw bread, not toasted except a small spot in the center of the bread and it looked like something ate off one corner of one of the beef patties. All this nasty stuff to the tune of $8.85 for a pitiful sandwich and runny milk......oh and I forgot about the would be gospel singer want to be screaming at the top of his lungs in the backside of the building that I had to listen to for the 40 minutes waiting at the drive thru to get crappy food. Ordered the three silver-dollar pancakes for a buck and a half plus three of their dollar breakfast tacos. Pancakes were much bigger than a silver dollar. Coffee mug reloaded three times at least. Very disappointed in this visit. Waited almost 10 minutes for our server to even come to our table and take our order. Our waiter was running the cash register while other wait staff weren't really doing anything. My step-dad asked for a glass of water and the server brought him Coke Zero instead.
