If I could give a 0 star, I would. But unfortunately I can't. Had the WORST waiter eve, JOSHUA. C Seemed like he would rather be any where else than at work and that's not the attitude you're supposed to have towards your customers. When we were done ordering our food we set the menus at the corner of the table and he says "Guys!" motioning for us to hurry and hand him the menus. When bringing us our shakes he placed the spoons on the dirty table that never got cleaned properly from the start. So we didn't want to use those spoons. Had to remind him of some of the food we didn't receive. Waited about 35-40 for our bill but he never came to give it to us so we walked to the front since he was failing at that as well. That's when he said "do you want your bill?" While I'm at the counter about to ask for a bill. Looking around I see he has the same attitude towards the rest of his tables. Other than our waiters AWFUL service. The milkshake we received was more on the outside of the glass than inside. Which was just horrible. You guys need to get that stuff together better. Tighten up. I should of known better. I odered a burger last evening around 5 pm. as soon as i knew the taste of the meat was like it was somewhat spoiled, i should of not ate anymore. I ate half of the burger with grilled onions and mushrooms because i was very hungry an had not eaten all day. We went to this location tonight for dinner. I was not happy with their new standards of whatever they are doing. It smells in there not clean, every table was dirty and you have to use a kiosk to order your food and your force to pay by credit card or debit card, no cash. Also every table was dirty, floor sticky the counters are messy and it took 10 minutes into our meal to get milkshake....it comes separate or whenever they have time to make them, it doesn't come with the dinner. They will call your number when your food is ready. I told the guy I figured drinks would come with meal and he just laughed and said they will call your number. What an asshole. read more

We really enjoy eating at this SnS. The prices are really good and the food is always hot and fresh. It's a good burger and fries place. Their are enough choices that everyone in my family find something that they like. The service has always been good with friendly servers. My family always has good experiences here. Amazing food and shakes but service and cleanliness. needs to kick it up a notch. You can get a really good meal for pretty cheap but don't be surprised if you end up waiting a long time for your order. My family and I came in and ordered 4 meals and 2 shakes and had to wait 30 minutes when the restaurant only had one other table. I came in another time through the drive through and had to wait 20 minutes in line before I could even order. No wonder why steak 'n Shake is losing so much business. We were told if we signed up for the rewards that we would get a free shake. So we thought that we would do that go up there when we go inside no one there to take your order and they tell us that you can't substitute anything or order specialty shakes when you walk in because you have to use the Kiosks.. We're told that we have to go through the drive-through if we wanted a specialty shake. Are we wanted was a chocolate butter finger instead of it being vanilla. I just don't understand how it's so difficult to walk into steak 'n Shake &order some thing to go.. not to mention the last time I came I ordered a Frisco melt add tomato lettuce and bacon. I get home they charge me two dollars for the bacon that wasn't even there no lettuce and tomato. I called up there they put me in a "book" when I go up there to retrieve my mail they had a composition notebook that looks like a teenagers yearbook. I have been to this location several times; the service is always above expectation! The food is edible and hot, very greasy but I guess that's to be expected from this type of restaurant. Not bad for a gut bomb. The reason for the low stars is due to cleanliness. The floor is ALWAYS sticky! It always smells wet inside, and the bathroom- well I have seen truck stop bathrooms that are cleaner. The only other issue we ever have is the fact that they are always out of things. I don't know if this is the fault of the trucks or the ordering but a restaurant that's out of 2/3 of their side dishes is doing something wrong. read more

Okay, so you can't really complain about the food you spend $4 on. More than what you would get at McDonald's or another "fast food" place. However, spending 20 minutes in the drive thru is annoying. And it's every time. You cannot just quickly get food. And I always ask for no mustard on my burger. And it's 50/50 on if they put it on there. Sometimes it's all they put on it. This time there's none on the burger but tons of it all over the bag, napkins, receipt. EVERYWHERE. That's gross. do they not change their gloves? This review is strictly on the drive thru. I am currently still waiting in the drive thru. To start there were 5 cars ahead of me. I am now car #3. It has been 39 minutes! I have never been in a drive-thru line that takes 39 minutes just to move up 3 car spaces. If you want "fast food", then steer clear of this one. Definitely not fast. I am now at 45 minutes and still the third car in line. Just ridiculous. If I could leave the line I would, but cannot because of the concrete curb. read more

Ordered on door dash around 11:20, they close delivery at 12 for COVID. Even though I think 40 minutes was a reasonable time to make a few shakes and fries, but I guess now because at 12:15 it was still not picked up. Order was shown as being "made" for almost an hour, called a few times, went to voicemail, called again and somebody picked up. I asked if the order was still there or what was happening because it really should have been done. She said they're closed and the driver probably never got to pick it up. I canceled the order and got my money back, but overall super frustrating that we ordered while they were still open for almost an hour, not like a order a bunch of food a minute before they close type deal. We stopped in to day at around 11AM for an early lunch. The woman behind the counter (where we decided to sit) took our order. As we waited about 20 minutes we noticed other guests getting their lunch that came in after us. We asked our server about our order and she gestured to the kitchen like it was an error on them. Since we were sitting at the counter we were able to watch the cook. He never received our order to begin with. She took our order but she never put in our order! We decided to leave, not even an apology on her part. Very bad customer service on her part, she needs some training in better behavior to guests. Was CRAVING steak and shake (as it is my favorite place to eat) sat in line 40 minutes to get a BURNT burger, non salted fries, asked for honey mustard was given regular mustard, my moms milk shake was missing a whole quarter of it, that's including her melted whipped cream with the cherry sunk to the bottom, and we had to wait for the register worker to come back because she forgot to give me my card back.. I work in food so maybe it was a busy day or she was training. but I find it only fair to give an honest review which I never leave bad ones... if I wasn't in a rush for the 45 minute cut in my time I would've went back and got my money back... read more

The Cajun Burger tasted okay - but the each of the two beef "patties" was no thicker than the slice of cheese between them. I now know that "Where's the beef?" was first uttered in a Steak N Shake. The person that answered on the drive-through speaker phone sounded very rude and when we asked if there could be no onions on the chili Mac as you can see in the pictures this is what we received. On my coupon I was supposed to receive a free side salad with my chili Mac instead they gave us the smallest chili Mac they have covered and onions and charged us for a full-size salad. The waitress took forever as she was thr only one waiting tables then we ordered milkshakes and she was like oh really I got a make those too and it's really busy.... last time I checked we ordered milkshakes and you charged us for them so ya I'd think you should make them for us .. The burgers are pressed thin and my wife and boys didn't really enjoy them much. They all thought Five Guys burgers are far better. I got a salad and it mediocre at best. The shakes were very good. I was hoping for much better. Never been to a Steak and Shake before. We were assigned a table that was wet from being wiped down, but still had food particles on the seats and under the table. I grabbed some napkins and wiped it down for my wife to sit. The waiter apologized when he saw me cleaning it. He said he just started his shift, but was wearing the dirtiest apron I have ever seen in a restaurant. Upon closer examination, his entire uniform was dirty and caked with food. Pretty funny when they are all supposed to be wearing faux tuxedos and bow ties. We ordered our food, and noticed many small gross things - the booths across from us had food fingerprints all over the back walls. The mustard on our table had hard dried mustard smeared across the lid. The salt and pepper shakers had been manhandled by someone too lazy to wipe their hands. My wife would not even touch them. The waiter placed our silverware on the table - and the napkins were dirty also! I opened up the napkins and the silverware was wet and spotted. I was now in the position of cleaning my own silverware with a dirty napkin. I didn't use them with my meal. We received our shakes after 20 minutes - mine was just chocolate and was missing the banana. It had also completely melted and was very soupy. I stopped the waiter and asked for a corrected one. No apology, he just grabbed it and ran away. He brought me another one in 3 minutes - correct, not melted and very flavorful. Ok, then. Our food came 15 minutes after our shakes, (which were now melted) and was generally agreeable - but the french fries were ice cold. I flagged down our waiter once again and asked for hot fries. He returned with them in three more minutes, hot and fresh. My wife asked for no tomato on her burger, but there it was on her burger, which we fished off ourselves. The waiter explained that "Oh, they never read the order slips." He then asked if everything else was ok, and at that point it was for the most part. He never offered an apology. Ok, then. I guess if you are willing to sit in a booth you can keep asking for things to be corrected, and they will do it. Mighty expensive way to run a restaurant though. This location is open 24 hours a day, why can't they clean the joint a little during the early hours when no one is there? Manager, take a close look at your tables and look at what you are expecting the customers to tolerate. Why can't the wait staff wear clothes that are washed? The cleanliness standards have got to be better than this. I tipped my waiter 33% simply because I wanted him to be able to afford the laundromat and some soap and he had to keep running back and forth to correct the kitchens' mistakes. Maybe I am expecting too much from a $20 dinner but even most Waffle Houses are cleaner than this. Not recommended for germaphobes! read more

I should have posted this earlier but, here goes. Last October I went through the drive-thru at this Steak and Shake - order was placed and I waited . . . and waited . . . and waited. While sitting in my car, a worker came out the back door, cell phone and cigarette in hand, with the most disgustingly dirty apron on. If she was a cook, I would never eat there again; if she was a dishwasher, I would never eat there again; if she buses tables, I would never eat there again. Filthy (and I mean filthy) work clothing around food is not a good thing - greasy steakburgers or not. She had a net on her hair so I suspect she is/was a line cook. read more

If you are a burger and fries person this place is for you! They have meal options for $4 and under. It's very reasonable to eat here. As a family who likes to go out but, is on a budget this is one of our favorite places to go. It's always busy but, they work hard to get everyone seated as quickly as they can. read more
