Went here last night after the Rays opener for a quick dinner. It's been on my list to check it out since it opened. I just did the Hot Honey and Buffalo Wings, all drums of course, with a Mich Ultra. They were deep fried and both were fine. The fries had some sort or seasoning on it and those were ok. The service was great as two servers consistently checked in on me and the atmosphere was fine. I thought this place was ok and would be fun to go with a group but it wouldn't be my first choice to eat and watch a sporting event. There is plenty of parking available in their lot. We checked out this new bar-restaurant in Largo and it did not disappoint. They have all the standard pub food offerings like salads, burgers, pizza, and wings. But they also have some unique stuff like Kimchi dog and loaded tots. I decided to try out their bratwurst special and it was super good. It was nice and juicy with a delightful snap and came with all the toppings. The highlight was the piping hot and crispy tots. I wish the bratwurst wasn't $12 which I think is a little steep. Because of their name, I was expecting a lot of nautical decorations inside being that they're so close to Gulf and all but was a little sad when I realized that "Schooner" could also mean a large drinking glass which they do offer as a size option for their beers. Three ladies went to schooners Monday at 12:20. There was one table and a woman at the bar: two waitresses acted as waitresses, bartender, and cook. We saw our waitress once. She was preoccupied, looking elsewhere while we ordered and she did not take the correct orders. We got the other waitress who had to review our ticket and add onion rings and explained to us that she was not our waitress. Yes we see but, our waitress was in the kitchen cooking.. Our order didn't include onion rings until dessert. The meatloaf was unremarkable and the presentation was without care. The bar is huge. They're a couple tables. It should be manageable, but the girls were talking to their friend at the bar v tending to paying customers. One drunk patron seems to be preferred to cash paying customers. Enjoyed some of the World Cup. The TVs are set just right-. It's good for neck. Friend chicken wings almost undercooked, they did great with the hamburger. The late onion rings were not anything to buy. No good batter. No flavor, one would have to be very drunk to enjoy. Left with the feeling, they don't want over 50 females who have a deal of spending power. At the rate it's going it'll be a dive not what I wanted in Belleair Bluffs. Looking for a place to grab a cold drinks after our long walk in the park. We look on yelp and schooners pop up with a 4.8 . So we decided to give it a try. Schooners did not disappoint us. First time visiting Schooners and was I definitely impressed!! Very updated and clean establishment from wall to wall!! Nice amount of televisions that everyone seated can view clearly. All servers and staff were helpful with menu suggestions and hospitality!! Lauren our server was excellent!! Drinks were served quickly and also the food was out in amazing time!! I had the Schooners Smash burger (2 patties smashed and crispy with diced onions, pickle chips and house peppercorn sauce) w/seasoned french fries & also ordered the El Diablo burger (pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh jalapeño, sweet onion straws and cholula mayonnaise) w/potato salad. We've been coming here for awhile now. The atmosphere is upbeat with lots of TVs, sports, trivia night, etc. Great happy hour til 7pm. Food is very good, especially the pulled pork nachos, chicken souvlaki, and the meatloaf. Service can be iffy especially if its packed or if someone doesn't show. I've even seen the manager/owner jump in and help out. Just don't forget your leftovers. Despite the fact that my friend texted us that we forgot ours and we immediately returned, we were told that the policy was if you leave it, it gets tossed. That was disappointing, especially since my friend told them we were coming back to get it. Went there for the first and last time as I live around the corner and was excited to check out a new restaurant within walking distance. 45 minutes after ordering I asked the waitress if our food was still coming and she apologized and said that the kitchen was running behind but she would go check on it. Lauren then came out and in a very hostile/aggressive tone told me she didn't appreciate complaints and that it's not her fault. It made our party very uncomfortable and felt as if she was looking for a fight. I explained to her that I wasn't complaining about our waitresses attentiveness but rather the 45 minute wait time for a burger and tots... when the food came it was decent and fair priced but we ate quickly as we at that point just wanted to leave because she was so hostile. If she can't control her emotions due to her pregnancy then maybe she doesn't need to work in a service driven industry. I don't know who's writing all these good reviews. It's frozen food and it's expensive for what it is. I had the chicken kebabs cause that was something. Venus always made considering what we paid for this , it should've at least been mediocre, but it was one of the worst things I've ever eaten and I'm pretty sure the chicken was undercooked. But my husband had the burger and $17 for a burger that needed salt is insane. I've never in my life seen him put salt on a burger, but it was that tasteless. This is a place for the drunks to go on Friday night and pretend that they're not pushing 60. It's where the women put on their cold shoulder shirts and their bedazzled jeans and they drink beer out of the bottle and try to go home with the band. We were greeted by more than one server and they were all exceptionally courteous and attentive. We enjoyed cocktails and beer and they were good too. Our only suggestion would be to have a couple seafood options-perhaps a broiled fish or salmon. The ambiance is very nice.
