The service was pretty quick and the food was decent. Nothing outstanding but if you're looking for some bar food this is a good place to go. Boxer Bar & Grill Review…read more We were looking for a place with good music, drinks, and food to kick off our night and came across Boxer Bar & Grill. It turned out to be a fun spot with a laid-back atmosphere. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we found an open table. There was a DJ playing music, and several people were already there enjoying themselves, which made for a great vibe. We ordered the brisket burger with fries and the brisket tacos with tortilla chips. The burger was flavorful, juicy, and definitely the better of the two entrees. The tacos, however, were a bit disappointing. I think they would have been much better if they had been served in crispy taco shells or if the tortillas had at least been warmed up. Instead, it felt like the tortillas were taken straight from the package and filled without much preparation. The standout item was actually the tortilla chips. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I enjoyed them so much that I ended up scooping the brisket filling out of the tacos and making my own nachos, which honestly tasted better than eating the tacos as they were served. Overall, Boxer Bar & Grill is a great place to stop if you're in town and looking for a casual spot with good music, drinks, and decent food. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and while not every dish was a hit, I'd definitely come back to hang out and enjoy the vibe.

The new manager was making the normal rounds and was not really listening. Very disappointed in the Crème Brûlée as they sugar topping actually burned through and burned the custard. We had the short ribs with loaded mashed potatoes, calamari, octopus and tuna sashimi. Everything was perfect! The sauce that came with the calamari was insane! It was a white banana pepper sauce... We dipped everything in it! My only complaint was that the portions were on the small side. Everything was cut very thinly and layered on the plate. Service was just right. We walked in without a reservation, they walked us right to our table. The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. Granted it was a late Thursday night, probably would recommend a reservation for a weekend... Other than that, delicious and we will probably be back to try other things.

She took our food order and then came back 20 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order. 20 minutes later she came back to double check to see what we wanted. About 10 minutes later she told us our food was the next one up. 45 minutes later our food came out. She told us she was going to buy our beers for us. I asked for the check after being there over 2 hours. She never brought it. There was another guy working and I asked him what was up. He said she was having a rough night. I told him what we had to eat and offered him $50. He took it and we ran out of the bar. She was waiting on one other large table with about 10 people. It was only the two tables she had to wait on. We started with Oysters Bienville (baked oysters) and the cornbread + butter. The oysters were very, very salty but the cornbread was good! For my entree, I ordered the Salmon Onion Crusted. The "onion crusted" part tasted like the same french fried onions you'd find on a green-bean casserole at Thanksgiving. As surprising as that was, it tasted pretty good on top of the salmon. My mashed potatoes were also good (average). Overall, I was satisfied with my meal but not wow-ed by it. I'd recommend checking this place out and deciding for yourself ;)
