If I could give less stars, I would. My experience at this location was awful. I love Steak 'n Shake but I will never return here. my boyfriend and I walked in and the " please wait to be seated" sign was out. We waited a good 5 minutes before a lady yelled that she would be with us in a minute. We stood there ( no one else in line ) yet another 5 minutes before she asked if we were there for a pick up order. We told her "no" & that they have a " please wait to be seated sign". She chuckled but said " you waited there that whole time to be seated? You can seat yourselves". Every single time I've been to this location ( many times, but not in years) we had always been seated. We sat ourselves in the far back small booth next to the restrooms Bc it was the only one available that was the slightest bit clean. We sat there for 10 minutes. No one ever came to bring us menus, ask if we want drinks, take our orders, or tell us to go screw ourselves. I watched them grab menus and seat a couple that had come in far after us. And that point I had had enough. We got up & left. I told my boyfriend to go through the drive through Bc I WOULD be getting a banana shake. We were the only ones in the drive through and it took them a very long time to get our food even then. And the boy/man on the other end of the speaker had attitude in his voice & sounded very rude. I love the chili cheese fries and their original double cheese burgers, but the frisco melt, that's is where it is.... I dont know what's going on with Steak & Shake recently but something gotta give! Tonight was the final straw! We drive up, order our food, pull around & pay, and as always the food comes out quickly. But this time someone forgot to make sure the top was on our milkshake. It ends up pouring all over my husband (driver) and all over my leg, not to mention all over our car. The girl who handed it to us was already gone, convenient for her. My husband pulled ahead to quickly wipe it off his pants and run inside to get a new one, leaving our food and the other shake in the car thinking he'd be right back. He goes in and walks up to the front and is greeted by some waitress, explains what happened and she went to get a manager. The manager is why I'm writing this review mind you. The 'manager' already hearing the issue shouted from across the room ''What do you need me for?!'' So she shuffled away to go talk to the manager to explain who then rolled her eyes, sighed, and eventually made her way over to us. She went to tell us that the milkshake we brought in wasnt in fact a fresh milkshake, that the one we brought in was trash because it had paper towels in it. This is when I knew I would be writing this review. He goes on to remind her that the milkshake lid wasnt secured properly and (pointing at his shorts covered in ice cream & sprinkles) the napkins were in the shake since he needed to wipe it off his shorts before coming in. She then sighed loudly and took the milkshake over to the 'milkshake manager' who also seemed skeptical and pissed off that 'how dare a costumer have an issue and think I'm going to do anything about it' kind of attitude. We had to explain again how the lid wasnt on right and how the shake dumped all over us and our car and that we only came in so we could get a new milkshake made. He goes on to give us crap about the napkins and that he checks every item that goes out the window so there's no way this could have happened. WTF!? ?!?!WTF!?!?! Even if he checked every single item it's not like these things don't happen.... it's not like I took the shake and poured it all over myself just to get a new one made. That would be stupid. That would be insane! Mind you at this point it's been 10 mins already and we still didnt have a replacement shake. What we had were sticky hands, milkshake drenched clothes, and food in the car that was very quickly becoming ruined, not to mention a milkshake that was surely turning to liquid, and 2 of the most idiotic managers I've even had to deal with! Not without much (MUCH!) of a fight we finally got a replacement shake, and here I am now writing about it. ------UPDATE------- So I wrote this before I even opened the bag. We both ordered seasoned fries ($.30 additional) and both of us only got a tiny dusting on top. Usually they take the fries and coat them with which ever seasoning you'd like for a small fee. Our fries, of course, were an after thought. They filled the fry containers w// regualar fries and then dusted the very top......however, that's where it ended. When we dumped the fries on a plate we saw that, even though we payed for seasoned fries, we only got about 5 fries that were seasoned... I payed for something I didn't get. I wish I could give feedback for just the cook who was working tonight. I come inside and sit at the bar every night for my lunch break. The staff in their knows me because I order a double every time and only have 30 minutes for a lunch break. I almost walked out after I sat at the bar for 10 minutes of my 30 minute break watching the cook purposefully ignore me. After the waitress placed my order he then did not cook my burger. Instead the waitress had to cook my food while tending to her other table. After all that my food was cold. I hope this helps the management understand their employees better. Every time I come here the service gets progressively worse. Today my son and I sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order. My food wasn't right. Our drinks came out AFTER our food (also not right). We went into Steak n Shake and waited in line behind a family and another family was behind us. The place was only about a third full. Many of the empty tables needed to be bused. The place was dirty. The workers just kind of looked at us but made no attempt to seat any of us. Acted kind of like it wasn't their job. Finally we just walked out and went to McDonalds. read more

For the past couple nights an employee has parked their car in the drive thru with the hazard lights on. This is upsetting bc steak and shake is one of the few restaurants open all night. If your drive thru hours are posted as open you should be open, if their is an issue with staff etc then there should be a message posted. A car blocking the entrance isn't acceptable. read more

We were here from breakfast on Sunday, Nevada was our server. She did a god job but our table was dirty. I came back Monday morning, 6:30am. there was one guy there, the tables,floor were a mess. I just spent over 30 minutes in the drive thru for two shakes, only to get the wrong shake. When I went in to ask them to fix it the guy at the front was very short and borderline rude. While waiting I also noticed that the dining area was a disaster and the neon sign about the front counter was caked with grime, grease and dust. Our group sat for more than 10 mins waiting to even be greeted by a waiter... We looked by the front counter and saw 5-6 waiters gathered in a group enjoying laughs, completely oblivious. The food wait time was long (but we had a large group, so I understood why). One member of our group sent her order back twice because it was wrong. Our waitress was rude and clocked out mid-service (we watched her as she left). Total lack of management in front of house, he was in the back cooking. Finally he came to our table and took off the charge for that meal, as well as the charge for our milkshakes. The food was good. I got the Jamaican jerk burger & salt/vinegar fries. Could've used more sauce (bc it was so good); there was a pile of salt on the side of my plate beside the fries)! My husband had the taco salad w/ranch, red tortilla strips, and cheese. He liked his meal as well. Birthday cake milkshake was spot on (only minus the 2 large strips of cake pieces at the bottom)! The service at this Steak n Shake is consistently sub par to all the other locations in Columbus I have been to. The food is sometimes good, sometimes iffy. Cold fries are not acceptable especially when the ratio of wait staff is about equal to the number of customers. I guess the ghost town like atmosphere at dinner time at a busy area like Easton should have been my clue. If you really want Steak n Shake it would be worth driving farther along to another location. read more

And no, it wasn't that busy. 2 separate servers passed us by at least 4 separate times. After waiting, we left and we won't return to this location. Compared to the regular service (or lack thereof), the service here was great! Kara was our server and greeted us promptly and with a smile. T was the morning after the big wind storm and most restaurants were closed due to lack of power. losin would have been a good idea for steak and shake. It took 1 and a 1/2 hours to get oir food, such as it was as neither my wife and I got what we ordered. the delay wasthe fault of the cooks and the managers who couldn't bus tables or seat people. My husband had to ask twice for his chili, my sandwich came out wrong twice, had to ask for extra ketchup twice and they brought the wrong milkshake stating that they grabbed the wrong one. I'm just a little confused anymore with this establishment. After waiting in the door we witnessed an employee get branded by a hot cast iron cattle branding tool. It was a very unique experience at a time I felt breakfast would be served. At the tender hour of 1AM I asked for the special, I was shot down shortly after. Melissa was crusty as EVER! She had polyester Kmart extensions and wore a brand of fragrance I wasn't a fan of, I think they called it "midnight musk", but we felt it was a "last call musk". We were rushed through our entire meal and just when we thought nothing could top this meal.... We found a florescent green 37 inch dread lock just resting upon and across two out of three of the plates we were given. I went thru the drive thru at 10:41pm. I stayed in line for nine mins to get to the window to see the cashier laughing and talking to the manager. The cook had our food ready and she grabs the bag just to set it at the window and continue talking to the manager. When she finally greeted me she had the nerve to say "sorry for your wait". When I got home my food was sloppy and mashed together. I spent $15.00 for what? No customer service and slop??? I have worked as a manager for a fast food chain and customers are always first as well as the freshness of the food and presentation. I will not go back to this location at all and really will not recommend this location to anyone. I know a good place to eat when I see it and that's not here. Owners need to step in before this location goes further south. read more

Went Steak n Shake because it was the only option in the Easton area that was open at 1am. The drive thru line was so slow, I backed out and went inside. WORST MISTAKE EVER BEING 7 MONTHS PREGNANT and HAVING MY 4 YEAR OLD WITH ME. First person in line and we literally waited 55 minutes for our food. Not to mention I watched several other orders that were placed after mine, be handed out to the customers who were inside eating. I do like the food at Steak & Shake but I am in the drive thru line waiting and have been here for 40 minutes. Only two cars in front of me and the restaurant is not busy. I can't believe this is taking so long but I have invested this much time and am curious to see what the final time will be once I receive my food.
