Seriously RUDE. Didn't receive what we ordered and when we politely asked for a replacement, the rude cook responded with "I made it. I know what it is." as she strutted away. We just drove off (as you can't eat inside). Worst SnS EVER! Fries were cold and not salted, burgers sloppily put together, and drinks all wrong. Add RUDENESS to the mix and we are done. Never again. I'm not sure why they are so slow, but they are. I've gone several times over the past few years because they have good deals. However, without fail I've had to wait a long time in the drive thru. Today I ordered a burger and fries and I waited 10 minutes. And the food was cold. I don't quite understand how that works. I will probably be back because I'm optimistic this location will change but it never does. Definitely don't go if you are in a rush. read more

Ordered a burger with grilled onions and paid more for the onions. Ordering was done through automated stations and not in person. You can only pay with a credit card. The order came out after about at least 20 minutes and the onion rings and the burger were room temp but the grilled onions on top were the only thing hot. They obviously made everything but the grilled onions then let it sit while making them. Is it too much to ask that everything come out hotter than room temp? Terrible service all around. read more

Terrible timing. I've waited 40 minutes to get my food from ordering online. Website said my food would be ready at 21:02. I just picked up my food at 21:36. They messed up my order. Omg.... I have never been to a place so smelly and disgusting. My family and I ordered through the drive thru and when the cashier opened the window to give us our food there was a rotting stench coming from the kitchen. I almost felt like throwing up and immediately I knew it was a mistake eating anything from there. Once I got my meal I checked my burger and it looked like the wrapper was thrown in a bowl of grease and burger picked up off the ground. I went inside to get my money back because there was no way I was putting that food in my body and the smell was worse! Anyways, no one greeted me of course nor acknowledged me. I approached someone who I assume was a waiter and he was more than willing to call someone to help me. I'd say the only good thing out of this was the cashier refunded me for my meal and extra. Worst service I've ever seen in my entire life. We come in at 11:15 with a party of 6. Place is half empty. We're just standing at the entrance. 11:40 we get seated but they make us split into 2 booths instead of cleaning off the big tables which have been empty and left since we came in. 5 parties get served before us that came in after us. 2 are bigger than ours. 12:00 they get our drinks. 12:15 they take our order. I see the person that seated us behind the counter just sitting doing nothing the entire time. Someone else has to take our order for us. The person that's taking the orders, a 3rd person, stares straight at us but serves 5 other parties instead that came in after us. This was a Disaster from start to finish. First off it was super crowded and there was a 30 min wait. OK I can deal with that, the place was a mess inside, I guess from being so busy and not having time or staff to clean the place back up for the next customers. But the worst part was that both my kids ended up sick that night, and the rest of our party was not impressed with anything we ate. Standard Steak 'n Shake, I stopped by with coupons in hand after a visit to the Mall of Georgia. Efficient service and food just as expected. This is the beauty of eating at chains, as the experience is typically consistent from one location to the next. I think I got a salad (yeah, I can be one of those girls, especially since there are other times I am double-fisting eclairs) and it was just as the other ones that I have gotten at the location near home. If you are looking for some place late at night in the Buford area, why not visit this place? It's cheap and the thin fries are pretty yummy. read more

I totally understand why this place is rated so low. It's the worst service I have ever experienced at a Steak and Shake. This place is standard Steak n Shake fare - which is to say delicious, affordable, and not all that healthy. The service is hit or miss... Sometimes I get excellent service and other times I wait forever and finally flag down a server other than mine to get served. On more than one occasion, I've ordered a hot sandwich and it has been cold, but compared to the amount of times I've come by and had a fantastic experience it's not what I'd call a regular occurrence. The manager recovered very well, too. He comped my meal and shake and gave me a voucher for another free meal on my next visit. From California, so burgers - I'm pretty picky. Personally, I enjoyed the price,unbelievably cheap. The burger I got tasted a lot like a fast food resturant back home. The milkshake, was a little on the sweet side. Service was okay for what it was, our girl had to ask our order about 4 times. Steak and Shake... Typically I have good experiences with them. Their food is pretty good (and horrible for you, but isn't all the really good stuff?)... Two of my friends and I had just left Parma and wanted some food to take back to the house. We placed our order in the drive thru. There were no cars behind us and only one in front of us that had pulled up to wait for their food. When we reached the window to pay and get our food the cashier girl took our money and asked us to pull forward to wait. She wasn't very pleasant about it and seemed pushy. There were no cars behind us so we didn't see what the big rush was. When we asked her why she said "we are on a timer and need to do well"... I thought "how about getting us our food and not cheating your management?" My dad was so excited to have an excuse to stop by S&S on the way home from picking me up form the airport. The food is ok at best and very greasy (to be expected). The milkshakes are delicious and so think you can't even drink them through a straw. The service at this location was friendly. The service might seem slow, but they do make everything to order, so sometimes you have to wait. Better to wait for fresh food than to eat a burger thats been sitting out for an hour... just saying. read more

On Dec-31, 2019 I was in the Buford area decided to stop by the Steak N Shake located at 3370 Buford Dr. in Buford, Ga. for a milkshake around 2:50pm. When I arrived at the drive-thru, there was 1 car ahead of me. After a few minutes, another car pulled in behind me. Little did I know that I was would have to wait another 40 minutes before I could even get to the drive-thru speaker and place my order for 1 shake. It took another 30 minutes to get to the drive-up window and receive my order. When I arrived at the window, a young skinny female with long eye lashes gave me my total of $2.07. After paying, she handed me my order with-out saying thank-you or apologizing for the ridiculous long wait. This was my second and last trip to this store in the last 4 months. 1 star is too much! This location should change their name to "Steak n' NO Shake" and remove their 24-hours sign!!! Used to be our favorite, but our last THREE disappointing experiences changed our minds. Each visit, we waited in line to be seated for over 30+ mins, then when seated, another 45+ to get our food. On TWO trips, we were told no shakes were being served. On our final visit, after waiting nearly an hour, our food came out cold. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt that bad service was isolated, but the same thing happened again and again and again. On our FOURTH and FINAL attempt to eat here, we were rudely ushered out of the dining area and told "Drive Thru Only!" This was not even 10:00pm on a Saturday. This was the last draw. We will NOT be back until this place is better managed. I hope Corporate is aware before this place closes down for good! read more

I understand and can deal with it being busy, but to not acknowledge customers who have been seated for a while or at least say I'll be with you as soon as I can is unacceptable. What a horrible experience this morning. I stopped by the steak and Shake on Pleasant Hill Rd, and they were extremely busy, about 12:10am so I left. I work close by. I live in Buford so I thought that I would hit that one up , I get there at 12:40 am and see plenty of people inside I walk up to the door and it's locked so I go around to the other door and it's locked. I see the manager and asked through the window if your closed and he nods his head to say yes. The damm signs on the windows say your open 24 hours. Doesn't say just the drive through open only so what in the hell is the deal !!! read more

Don't bother ordering online, and check the contents of the order before leaving. I placed an order online yesterday for pickup at 12:30, but I arrived early and decided that I would contact the restaurant to see if it was possible to pick up my order early. I called and there was no answer, and since I was already there, I went up to the door, but it was locked although there were people inside. I went back to my vehicle and decided to wait until the appointed time instead of trying to get it early, but I wasn't sure about the process of picking up the order, so I called again, the phone rang 20 time and eventually my call was answered. Since the door was locked, I asked what the protocol was for picking up online orders, and I was let into the restaurant by what appeared to be the manager. He said he couldn't find my order in the system and approximately 2 minutes later it appeared, so I waited patiently for my order to be completed, which occurred at 12:48. Imagine my surprise when I opened the beautifully wrapped take-out order to find that my Original Double 'n Cheese Steakburger 'n Fries turned out to be two patties with cheese in the middle and a bun! There was no tomato, pickle, onion, mayo, or ketchup. I was literally looking at 2 patties with cheese and a bun. I was so angry that I packed the sandwich up planning to return it even though my fries would become too cold to eat, only to find that the cars were practically wrapped around the corner and my vehicle was trapped, so I decided to use the ketchup in the bag to take some of the dryness out of the unappealing sandwich, as my lunch partner, who was holding the same type of unadorned hamburger. I managed to take two bites before finding it inedible. I am officially done eating at Steak 'n Shake, although their shakes are superior, the experience gave me a bad taste in my mouth. They should be ashamed of themselves, I would expect this type of low-quality service from many other fast food joints, but I held them in higher regard, now my opinion is that Stake 'n Shake is beneath them all in quality assurance. My sister and I were passing through on our way to a vacation and our car broke down in their parking lot. We were stranded here for 6-7 hours waiting on a tow truck and for traveling family to come get pick us up on their way to our final destination. This staff was wonderful and let us move our luggage in and set up shop while we waited. Everyone was so courteous to us and took great care of us while we waited. We are very grateful! read more

We stopped in this weekend and was very pleased. The hamburgers are fresh ground beef and grilled on the flat top. The fries were hot, and the shakes were good. The service at this location was excellent, much better than some of the other Steak & Shakes we go to. When we are in the area we will try this one again. read more
