Oof, this location is pretty terrible.... Service, food, cleanliness...all bad. How on earth they have a 100 on their health score is beyond me. The kitchen must be pristine to balance out the sticky, dust-covered dining room, and disgusting bathrooms. But to my surprise someone did come out to wipe the tables. The food took longer than it should to come out. The fries tasted stale and over-salted, the burger had little flavor. I ordered a medium fry but it looked much smaller than a medium. Beware - milkshakes take a minimum of 20 minutes to be made.....at least mine did. The new format that Steak 'n Shake has taken is not working - they used to be a sit-down table service restaurant. Now you order at a kiosk and pick up your order at the counter, which is fine, but there is no employee managing the dining room. This location needs a serious deep cleaning. There is a bad smell inside that sort of smells musty or moldy mixed with super cheap cleaner or chemical, not sure. The tables, chairs, drink dispenser, and floors were all pretty dirty. We barely found a table out of all of them that was tolerable to sit at. Two of the tables even had hair on them. The rugs at the front area where you order and pick up food had ketchup and grime all in them, they were super nasty. The food was just okay. The burgers seemed extra greasy this time for some reason. They also didn't give us all of our honey mustard we paid for and had to go back up to ask for it, and that is the second visit in a row that has happened there. This is the worst steak and Shake I have yet to step into. It is a shame really, they have a great location across from a major mall and have opportunity to be a great restaurant. I don't think they train their employees. They don't seem to know the order in which to do things and I don't think it's entirely their fault. It is the lack of management. They haven't gotten my order wrong recently but are slow, slow, slow. Did I mention that they are extremely slow about everything!? They will seat you, forget about you for atleast 15-20 mins. Then ask you what you want to drink and if you want a shake it will be brought to you before your food which takes so long to come that you drink will be finished before the food comes. That is if they don't forget to take your order without having to remind them atleast twice. I would of walked out on my last visit here this week on Oct 28 if my daughter wasn't so adamant of wanting a milkshake. It took us about 2 hours here. We got here at about 7:30 and didn't leave till almost 10. They made my kids late to bed and made me late to a visit at a friends house which I got to at about 11 instead of 9 because our "quick bite" at this place took so painfully long. My first time here am I'm pretty excited as I've heard a lot about it. I come in and there's a big sign that reads "prime steak burger! New, Frisco" So I'm thinking that looks good and I ask the cashier for the frisco She brings out a very flat sandwich so I ask her "are there two different friscos or something because I don't think this is my sandwich" She told me yes there's the melt and the prime steak and I said oh yeah I meant to order the steak one (as I pointed to the new sign) She rolls her eyes at me as if I'm the one that messed up the order??? So, it is 11pm and out of my 20-30 person group, we were the first ones to show up(celebrating after a swim meet). Me and my sister order our food at 11:04pm. Nothing crazy, just a chicken tender meal and a burger meal. And then more people start coming in, and they put in their orders. To my surprise, people who ordered after us start getting their food with ours nowhere to be found... OK weird right? At around 11:24, we ask when our food is going to be done, and just get brushed off saying they're busy. I understand being busy, so we decide to wait more. So we wait, and wait. But, more people are coming up to collect their food while we have nothing.. At around 11:38 we ask AGAIN, being told that we are not priority after waiting there for THIRTY MINUTES. OKAY, whatever, we have no choice but to wait. Finally reaching wits end, I go up again at 11:45, FOURTY MINUTES AFTER ORDERING. By this point, everyone in our group got food before us, despite us being the first ones to order. This man helped us, and seemed to be the only one who cared about us getting our food( I don't know his name but bless him). A whopping 50 minutes after ordering, we finally got our food, that was mediocre. They did give us 3 extra tenders, but doesn't make up for how pissed I was. That is the legacy of Steak n Shake. Except times have changed, and fast. I was surprised to walk inside and see no wait staff at all! You order at a kiosk, pick up food at the counter and seat yourself. So relevant for the modern era. I guess that's just the thing they needed to keep people interested since people aren't primarily focused on having a good time when they go out to eat these days. Nowadays it's about how fast I can eat with little to no hiccups, because "gosh darn it, I've got things to do and places to be and how dare you not serve me on MY timetable!" Yeah the bad reviewers don't know about the good ol' days. (I'm 29 FYI. Those days weren't TOO long ago). The food was great. As expected. The drive-thru was fast. I pulled up around 1:30 pm on a Thursday. 4 cars in front of me, I was driving off with my food in less than 5 min from the time I placed my order. The woman who served me was so sweet and smiled genuinely at me. Chick-fil-A would covet her! My experience here wasn't good. The wait was way too long for this to be a burger restaurant...I think they prioritize the drive-tru more than the customers who dine in. I don't understand how this place is a Tip restaurant... They take our order, I waited about 40 mins or more and the server just forgets about you. Server wasn't bad but wasn't good either... It was odd to me how we got our coleslaw served with our waters... kinda odd to have coleslaw for an appetizer when we had the double stack meal and it should have been served with our burgers. I can't say I am a huge fan of Steak n Shake like my east coast friends, but I like this place enough to go when I have a coupon. Mocha shake (in the new and improved shake glasses), side salad (which was much bigger than when you order to-go), double burger w/cheese, onion rings. All this for $5.99. The salad was in it's own bowl before the meal with fresh ingredients. Onion rings were yummy sweet. Shake was delicious, even a nice presentation with the cinnamon perfectly sprinkled.. I was pretty full by the time I got to the burger though. I was able to take that to-go. Overall, a good experience at a great value. I think my waitresses name was Courtney, she was very attentive. She caught that my burger didn't have cheese before she set it down. I wouldn't say this place replaces trips to Five Guys or my all time favorite In n Out but I do love shakes- they are a must with a burger. read more

The lady bringing food out to very angry customers that were having to wait just as long was super rude and sarcastic which is why I left. I've never had an experience like that anywhere ever. We were seated quickly but that was the only thing that was quick. We have two kids and it took us an hour to eat at this location. A shake was ordered with the meal and was brought out after we were 3/4 of the way done with the food. The staff has no real customer service and they do not seem to enjoy their jobs. I feel like this starts from the top. If the staff enjoyed their job and had some motivation maybe they would be able to handle customers more efficiently.
