We stopped here for a quick bite for breakfast on a trip to Nashville. It has a nice sized parking lot and street parking available. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We got there pretty early in the morning, but I could imagine that it gets pretty busy a little later as it was filling up as we were finishing up. I had the breakfast tacos, sans jalapeño, and they were the perfect size for a light breakfast. Deliciously, filling, but not heavy. We also had a breakfast plate and a breakfast burrito. I got a butterscotch latte that was delicious--just enough butterscotch flavor (housemade syrup) and not overly sweetened. I cannot wait to try more coffee options. Its in Germantown and is very open and almost Scandinavian. There was a simple coffee menu, fresh baked pastries and a light lunch menu. I went with a latte while my hubs had the flash chilled brew - both were great. For food, we shared a goose salami sandwich on focaccia served with a german style potato salad. We absolutely loved the flavors of the sandwich, although there was a little too much olive oil added. The potato salad was fresh and clean in flavor. This is the best coffee shop in Nashville now, in my opinion. I love Frothy Monkey. Crema is great and Ugly Mugs is pretty awesome. I'm not that big of a fan of sweet coffees nor of frappe-whatevers. This is like a mix between an old fashioned and an iced coffee. It'll refresh you in the summer. Strong, cold-brewed coffee sweetened and mixed with soda water and a fresh orange peel for an awesome citrusy vibe when you're not wanting a hot coffee. Pros: Atmosphere and coffee are top notch here. I've only tried a couple of things to eat but they've been great as well. Cons: Not many. They're still working out the kinks on a few things but this place is awesome and about to become big on the scene. I feel like the scene could easily get too hipster-y for people, though. I visited this charming and welcoming coffee house for the first time with my BF on a Saturday morning in late February. We had looked at the coffee offerings beforehand and heard great things about it. My BF ordered the duo (5oz drip + espresso sidecar) which came with a small glass of seltzer to cleanse the palate. As for me, I went with the bruleed latte (rested espresso, charred milk and flamed orange). My BF fairly enjoyed his duo but thought it was slightly too bitter. If you are looking for the new coffee spot of the year in Nashville, Steadfast has it locked down for 2015. Originally a pop up shop within the same building, Steadfast's permanent grounds are a fantastic blend of indoor simplicity and outdoor greenery; both are well kept and clean. I do wish there was some splashes of color on the inside (greenery, or some art). The white/wood/silver look is a bit drab at times. You don't have long to think about that for too long when you walk in. I'm generally a huge fan of the customer service here. It is friendly, fast, and genuine. It's nice to go to a coffee shop where there are smiling and caring faces. It can sometimes be a missed opportunity in Nashville, but this group leads the charge in doing it right. Oh yeah, by the way, they serve high quality coffee here (I believe they even roast their own coffee now). It always blows my mind how good it is. While it is in season, do get the "Matchless Coffee Soda." You will have nothing greater. It is a perfect marriage of the tastes of sprite and coffee, with a garnish of lemon peel. If you aren't looking for espresso or coffee, they also have on tap beer! The food is also unique! I have had the currently in season peach salad and the fish sandwich so far. The plating of each dish is so perfectly done, and the taste is always something that has made me question the ways food can be done. I will say the peach salad was a tad salty; it had ricotta and sea salt on it, which was tasty, but too strong. Other recommendations include the sweet porridge and the baked goods. Keep in mind that breakfast ends at ~11:30am, and it's lunch and dinner time after that. All in all, I have to say, they really do live up to their motto: everything well considered. read more

I do not mind the ridiculous prices for an espresso cup of coffee. It is on par with an expensive airports Starbucks and to be honest with you I liked Starbucks better and I am not a huge fan of Starbucks. I went to sit at the counter and I was told I had to get up an order from around the corner then I had to go back to sit at the counter where they gave me a number so they could deliver it to me. Very slow inside here staff thought it was more important to give the corner booth people free samples and time that they should've dedicated to clean and sweep the place. If you were a single person and want to spread out in a booth for six people then this is the place to go. All booths, most booths, we're taking up with one person only and it was a great place to sit if you want to spend four dollars on coffee all day long and get your schoolwork done. The barista gave us our espresso's and told us it was a mild blend of espresso. I do not come and order espresso for a mild blend of the day. If I cannot get bold espresso it is a waste of my money. Stumbled upon their new downtown location by accident a few weeks ago, and finally made it in to check out this shop. Steadfast has quickly become one of my favorite coffee/work spots in town. It's pretty clear they know what they're doing in the coffee realm, and take great care in making each drink. The atmosphere is perfect, with a cool U-shaped bar in center, and a modern/industrial feel. The music isn't intrusive and is always an interesting mix. The butterscotch latte is delicious and not in any way over powering or overly sweet. But the real gem here is their coffee soda. Amazing! There was a chalkboard sign outside the complex but the shop itself was not marked. It was a bit confusing at first but over the last few visit I think they've worked out some kinks. A barista will ask you your order when you enter and if she can make your drink she will start it. You order coffee sodas, rested drinks or food from the counter. Apparently I need to get out of East Nashville more. Germantown is super cool and quaint. I dig. Took me a minute to find Steadfast after parking further away than I needed to. I respect this but I want my dang latte! At least a chance to look at the menu while I wait. (More menus need to be on the walls, what's with this menu you have to grab right at the point of sale. Cut down on trees and hassle!) The menu itself seemed confusing as far as coffee goes (hence questions from patrons in front of me?) but the gentleman and I got talking and I asked for a latte. He asked if I wanted it sweetened and gave me a few options as to how they could do that. Butterscotch? Yes please. I grabbed a seat at a table and whipped out my book and notepad. The music was blasting (yes Supertramp!) but I could barely focus. I don't know if this place is great for reading but there were several people with laptops working away. I guess headphones could be of help. There were also several people who appeared to work there gathered at a table next to me. They seemed like great people but they were super loud being right next to me and being I had my book out. Seems like they could have lowered their voices, stepped to the back, or something to make a guests experience better. Wow, great place!!! I had a coffee soda and my buddy had the Atlas, which has a heavy cold cream on dark coffee, amazing. My coffee soda was light and refreshing, soooo good! I also had an egg sandwich with avocado. The poached eggs were perfect but be sure to poke them before you bite into the sandwich to release the yolk or it'll land on your shirt. I'm cool with smug behavior if the coffee is extraordinary and I still believe steadfast is my favorite roaster in Nash. That being said, first two visits were amazing. Your more beginner baristas pull better shots than your cocky, passive aggressive two . Just a tip, if someone is spending 30+ dollars on just Coffee, perhaps you might want to engage them about profiles of your product. Perhaps you might want to show the customer that you are actually excited about your offerings. The problem is, your seemingly "bitter" workers seem to know little or no answers to even the most basic questions about your coffee. Whoever is dialing in the espresso has a great palate, best espresso in town, but it's sad that a select few are choosing not to hit your numbers with the Spro. They don't know how to tell when the shot is inaccurate. Your fetco is too weak for the extraction % you are achieving . The three times I was there it was sitting at 1.23-1.28% tds on the fully washed offering. I refracted on sight. I don't think that is your intention. read more
