Bea has been to 4 different dog daycares. This is the ONLY one that when she jumps in the car to go home she's immediately zonked. Whatever they do, I love it. I pay for dog care for her to have fun with other dogs, not be bored and be exhausted when she comes home. Stay and obey delivers all three!! read more

Yelp) They charged me $38 for a day I had already paid for, then refused twice to give it back. I prepaid a seven day boarding package. We got home early, so I picked my dog up at 4:30 in the afternoon, two full days before the period I paid for ended. I asked for nothing back on the unused nights. I only wanted my dog. They charged me $38, because pickup was after 11 a.m. That afternoon was already inside the package I had paid for. They billed me a second time for a day I already owned, and kept payment for two nights of boarding they never had to provide. Sit with the arithmetic. If I had left my dog in their kennel overnight and collected him the next morning, I would have owed nothing. Because I came early and used less than I purchased, I owed $38. Less kennel time, less staff attention, bigger bill. No cost sits behind that number. The 11 a.m. charge exists to price a day nobody has paid for. They applied it to a day I had paid for. I did not come straight here. I asked at the counter and had the policy recited back to me while nobody opened my account. I put it in writing. Their operations manager called me, heard the whole thing, and said no. So be clear about what you are buying here. It is not kennel space. Boarding is a business you purchase on trust, because you are not there. What you are actually paying for is their judgment when something is unclear and you are not in the room. This was a thirty-eight dollar question that was not unclear at all. No cost to them, an obvious answer, a seven day customer on the other side of it, and two separate chances to get it right. They looked at all of that and kept the thirty-eight dollars. That was not the policy deciding. A person decided. I would rather not learn what that same judgment produces on a harder question. read more

We have used Stay and Obey for boarding and for daycare since they originally opened at their location on Red Arrow Highway. Now that our girl is older I still feel very comfortable leaving her with them knowing she will be safe and well cared for. read more

Rude and dishonest staff. Surprised at the poor level of treatment and service. Will not come here again

This a very nice facility but I felt the woman at the desk was a bit snooty. After several days of doggy daycare my dog still didn't want to stay which tells me something... read more

When you board your pet, They force you to pay for an extra day by being closed on Sunday's. Monday was a holiday. They not only charge a premium fee for a holiday, they give you 1/2 hr. To pick them up. Instead of trying to be helpful and give you your pet even if you are a few minutes early, no they lock door and make you wait. Poor customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very over priced!!!!!!!!! read more

Provided excellent basic training and are wonderful with our dog when we need to board him. They've helped socialize him and he's well taken care of with plenty of play time. read more

Best doggie daycare and boarding around! My pup LOVES it and the staff clearly loves my pup. Great obedience and agility classes too! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and pet loving staff. They deserve ten stars. read more

Tried the puppy preschool and so disappointing. Upon arrival, was handed a water bottle and told to spray our puppy when he barks to make him stop. Was given no guidance as to how/where, even when I asked. When pup didn't stop barking within a few minutes, was told to take him out of the room. We have done training at Petsmart, and they are so nice and give real tips and work with your pup, they don't just start squirting them with water. I found the trainer to be rude and not helpful. And I too believe they value money over customer service... sign up for anything, and it's nonrefundable and nontransferable. I call that nonsense and will take my business elsewhere and spread the word. Just glad I figured this out before I tried boarding our sweet puppy there... I've heard some real horror stories. read more

I boarded my two puppies, Millie and JoJo on august 16-24 at Stay and Obey. They were completely vaccinated and healthy at the time and have no interaction with dogs outside our household. The morning following their pickup I noticed Millie's right eye was swollen/red and immediately called the vet to schedule an appt. After noting she was hacking, they immediately told me that there was an outbreak of kennel cough at Stay and Obey and that we should bring her in ASAP . The vet diagnosed her with kennel cough, an eye infection, and ear infection infection and a skin infection. She was given 2 injections and sent home with 4 different medications. 2 days later, her sister JoJo was seen by the vet and given the same diagnosis of kennel cough. A week later, my elderly lab also became ill and had to seek veterinary care. When I contacted S&O they took no responsibility and refused to reimburse me or cover my vet bills. After reading other online posts I discovered other owners who reported their dogs contracting kennel cough at the same time my girls were there. That means that Lisa, the owner, lied and purposely did not disclose that she knew there was an outbreak at her facility. Disgusting. Update: never received any emails notifying me about the outbreak. Not. A. One. read more

I feel this place may have the best of intentions for the well-being of the dogs for the most part, but they do seem money hungry, will nickel and dime the heck out of people. Biggest complaint is how they force people to pay an extra day of day care if you board your dog there on a Saturday, their rules state if you don't pick your dog up by 11 AM the day of pick up from kennel, you are charged an extra day of day care. Well they force you to do this when you board your dog on a Saturday because they do not allow pick ups on Sundays, until earliest 5 PM. Not only do they charge you for a full day of "daycare" but I feel they are misrepresenting the "daycare" on Sundays because in fact they are closed. So the only stuff that comes is around 8:00 AM to let dogs out for bathroom and feeding, and then back again in the afternoon to get them ready for go home. So they are sitting alone all day in their kennels. But you are paying $30 for that. HMMM So if you want one night of boarding on a Saturday, you pay $75. $45 for the nightly boarding PLUS the $30 of the daycare which is absolutely bogus. Shop around. If you compare reviews to other dog daycare's with boarding in southwest Michigan, unfortunately Stay And Obey has among the most negative reviews. They do tend to have a bit of a high staff turnover but maybe that is expected who knows. They do have some awesome trainers and dog handlers who truly care about the dogs. They are just among the priciest with the most irritating policies. (they also charge you $20 if you don't drop your dog off by 4 PM for kenneling the day you are boarding because it "takes staff extra time to review the feeding/care instructions". There have been periods where they have had kennel cough outbreaks, I don't know if that is common for dog daycare's but it seems like it shouldn't be. I have read reviews where they have kind of gotten into little Internet arguments with people leaving bad reviews. For these reasons I think there are probably better daycare/boarding places for dogs to choose. read more

I board my dog here on long weekends, and every single time he comes home happier than ever. Not only does this place offer amenities for an individual pet's needs, they also ease my mind with the security and safety I wish for my dog. read more

Stay and Obey is great. We have been taking our pup there since we got him and he has the best time ever. The staff is great and loving and fun --- and his little but just wiggles like crazy when we walk in the door. It is so much better for him to be able to run that energy out and socialize with other dogs. Plus Ice Cream socials??? Who knew. We have never taken a dog to daycare before -- but so thrilled we are doing so now! read more

We love Stay and Obey for day care. The staff is friendly and knows my dog. I love the way they interact with her. The atmosphere is calm, even in the play area. We've not yet boarded our dog there but will at some point. We've increased the number of times per week that we take our dog there because she is much calmer since starting day care and regular socialization. Can't recommend Stay and Obey enough. read more

My dog was constantly in timeout at another daycare in the area. I heard that Stay and Obey was strict about dog's behavior so I was nervous to try them. But he got a report card at the end of the day and he scored an A+. The staff couldn't believe that he was always in trouble before. They're very attentive to the animals and take good care of them. My dog was asleep within 30 seconds of being picked up. They kept him active, busy and happy. I really appreciate the staff at Stay and Obey! read more
