Everything came out fast and fresh. Our server was excellent. Water glass stayed full. Other servers didn't even look at us and rarely smiled. Pretty surprised. We hit Himitsu, Banbu Sushi, very decent spots. My family was starving. We walked in and weren't too impressed. Tight seating, not too many folks. Service is pretty slow. The sushi here really hit the spot though. The otoro nigiri was legit. Fatty, nice slightly thicker slice. My wife ordered salmon sashimi for my daughter and my son. Gave this place a try on the recommendation of several girls from my hair salon who absolutely raved about it! They were not wrong! Location: It's a quaint place that was a little difficult to find. If you're trying to find it from Acacia Ave, it's behind the parking lot that's designated for Station Sushi and the Med Spa. From the lot, all you'll see is the back of the restaurant building. There's no signage that indicates that it's a restaurant, as far as I could see. But have faith and walk up to the front! Service: I walked in on a fairly busy Thursday evening and was still seated right away. My food (two house rolls) came out within 15 mins. Staff were attentive and friendly. No complaints here! They also have a drive thru window which I thought was super convenient and unique for a sushi place. Food: Delish! I got the Manhattan Roll and the Sashimi Roll. Both were yummy, though I preferred the sashimi roll since it's not always easy to find riceless rolls. Fish was fresh and the ponzu sauce for the sashimi roll was a great pairing. Not bad but... most of the sushi was good. We had to avoid the hot or spicy sushi because of health reasons. We thought the solana beach sushi roll was not spicy because the menu listed all the items. When we started eating the roll, it was filled with jalapeños. I asked the waitress and she also agreed it wasn't on the menu but she said they just do that. Well change your menu or when we ask, let us know. We did not finish the roll because of the jalapeños. Not bad of a spot! Made a last minute decision to eat out after watching a show and this place was open. There was a line, so I thought it must be good and gave it a try. Food - Pretty good! Location- it's a cute tucked spot with parish right in front in a nice shopping area. Food- the food was flavored and I love how the menu had pictures to it lol I have always loved a menu with pictures. The rolls I ordered were so big. I ordered 4 but with just one was enough. I'm giving it 2 stars because my wife loved her vegi roll. I on the other hand had the spicy tuna roll and shortly after leaving that night I started feeling stomach problems (nausea, cramps etc). On this visit we ordered the following selections: Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna - 4 pieces. Great portion. At least 3-4 bites to finish one. Generous amount of spicy tuna piled on a rectangle bed of crispy rice. Very good and I would order this again. Yellowtail Jalapeno Roll - Spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado outer with Yellowtail, jalapeno, soy mustard. So good with the Jalapeno on top for a bit spice. Yellowtail was fresh and so flavorful. Rainbow Roll - California roll inside with outer tuna, salmon and avocado. Such a delightful and tasty roll. Sashimi - 3 pcs each of tuna, salmon and yellowtail. All three sashimi were fresh and delicious. Very satisfied with all the selections on this visit and would order everything again. Service was great from being seated promptly to getting our food. One of my favorite menu item's is the Sushi Burrito, which includes an assortment of sashimi, lettuce and veggies, wrapped in soy paper. It's about the size of a standard sushi roll, so my wife and I usually split one while we're looking over the menu. I come to Solana beach twice a year and station sushi is always on my list of places to eat! I only get takeout so I'm not sure how the service or ambiance are but the food is TOP TIER! My brother ordered the chicken fried rice which was huge and so yummy! Rice was cooked nicely with lots of flavor. We had several rolls, the spicy tuna and California were amongst them, both large sizes. We also got the Ford roll which I couldn't stop eating.
