This building had a lot of issues in past, but not like a few people are making it out to be The current management is trying their hardest to make this place better for its residents there is no big crime problem here the place is clean. It's not rodent infested no bugs the gym has been upgraded yes there are some minor things that go on, but that would go on in any dwelling. You're never gonna make everybody happy no matter how hard you try. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be some improvements in the building, but it's nothing detrimental. You have common sense, thinking people that have open door policies. It's a nice place to live. I just think if the tenants would all have a meeting and we as tenants only discussed this amongst ourselves we the residents could make it better on our own. We could easily police the building ourselves and do our part to make it a better place to live as well ,It's a building that you can commute to New York City very easily. It's a quiet area to live. And again the current management is trying their hardest to make everybody happy, and I think the tenants could be a little bit understanding also and trust me I'm not pro management at all, I'm just common sense. Completely garbage place. This "luxury" complex is barely luxury. Does it have a gym? Yes, but half of the equipment is unusable with constant unfulfilled promises that it will be upgraded. Does it have a lounge? Yes, but the heat is turned off in the winter and the equipment in there like the pool cues and wifi are also broken. The apartments are poorly maintained and the management is full of complete scumbags. Staff turn over is very high and it seems like they have all given up. Yi was the last good manager. The current manager Chris Garaicao will lie like hell and even encourages people to leave negative reviews at this point. Regional Property Manager Danielle Giodano is even worse and will eagerly threaten you with lawyers if you have ANY complaints. The apartments are poorly maintained and they have a pattern of charging multiple tenants for the same damage that they don't bother to fix. Packages are stolen all of the time. The place is built on the edge of a swamp, so don't expect to be able to ever use your balconies, since it's either always too cold or it will be covered in insects like a horror movie. Definitely don't expect to get your deposit back because they will make any excuse to nickel and dime you. And expect various over charges just because they are desperate to make money. Trash rooms overflow with garbage on the weekends to the point where rats have been a concern at various points. Don't trust the rent. There are hundreds of dollars of hidden fees in the lease, including outrageous parking charges! This place is in the middle of nowhere, but it's still an additional $140/month for parking! Don't believe any of the 5* reviews. They are either from employees or periodic bribes where they offer tenants Liquor or other incentives to write 5* reviews. The moving process is hell since the service elevator is a city block away from half of the units. The lease is 40 pages long and require you to sign away all of your rights. The whole place is terrible. I'd never live in a complex managed by these people ever again! Talk to residents before signing anything and you'll see that most are eager to get out as fast as possible. In fact, some of them are only staying because they are currently in lawsuits with them and can't move. Avoid like the plague! read more

What they promise you during the initial tour is not what you get. we were promised the apartment on particular floor with particular view and when we went to check the actual apartment was way different. There is literally no communication from management. We called many times but there is no response and call doesn't even go to voicemail as it is full. Run if you can. I needed an apartment as soon as possible . So I applied for multiple building which I didn't know was the same management. On the application, there is a clause of $500 for holding fee that can't be refunded which I didn't know because I thought if you apply and don't get the apartment. They should refund the Holding fee. For almost 2 weeks , there was no approval or denial on my application. Mind you, I needed an apartment as soon as possible. Then I found another apartment that approved me in 2 days . I called them to know why my application was pending but couldn't get an answer , so I told them I was no longer interested. They told me to send a written response that I was no longer interested. Meanwhile, this was done so that I wouldn't get my holding fee. $500 and I had no idea. They refused to refund my holding fee, like I said earlier , I applied to another building that I didn't know was owned by them. So I lost $1000 all because they didn't approve me on- time . Do not live here. There are far better managed places else where. They charge an annual amenities fee for almost no amenities and close them without cause. The management makes up arbitrary rules on a whim and then threaten tenants with arbitrary fees not included in the lease. There is a cat lady who fees stray cats and they poop all over your car. Management does nothing to address this. There is a drunk on the north side of the complex who harassed people none stop. The entire complex smells like a Cyprus hill concert with excessive Marijuana use taking place everywhere. Multiple cars have been broken into/ stolen while living here. Last and not least, even if they say they will uphold something, they will recant if it is not in explicit writing. I have had my parking spot here as part of my deal since I moved in three years ago. I recently saved up enough money to purchase a house, and informed management that I would be moving out at the end of my lease. Just recently I received an email stating that because my lease did not have wording for a parking spot that I must move my vehicle or it will be tower. Now granted I have lived here for 3 years with that spot with no issues. The management is petty. Maintenance is cool, but often times is side swiped by management to avoid repairs. UPDATE 2: dogs not allowed in elevators without muzzle.. so if you have an elderly dog with joint problems they are forced to take stairs. If you have a dog with breathing issues they must be muzzled. How dare they advertise pet friendly. My old man struggled up the stairs this weekend. And he is half pug so doesn't breath well to be taking stairs all summer.. but we pay extra so he can live here. Thank god for stairwells where a bite is at no risk. Full disclosure since nobody else mentioned it- The Station recently ran a review contest where any reviews tagged with #IlovewhereILive would be entered into a drawing for $500, essentially paying for a positive review. Keep that in mind where you see reviews tagged with that online. I've posted the flyer that is still up about it, long after the submission entry period is over. The other 2 star reviews are the most accurate and non-exaggerated reviews here. We selected this apartment because of the proximity to transport to the city (Kingsland & Lyndhurst rail stations and the NJT bus) and being the first tenants in the unit. I haven't found a reason to stay though, especially with the luxury price tag for some of us and guaranteed increase for things you can find for less. The elevators are often dirty, with weird substances on the walls of the lobby elevator and dirt and animal urine in the service elevator. We visit friends in the Monarch nearby and the elevators are spotless compared to ours. Obviously we don't live in the elevators, but it's not appealing to guests or prospective tenants. The same can be said for the hallways. It'd be nice if they cleaned them more often. There were hand-prints on the walls near our unit for months until it was repainted. Just a few weeks ago there was spilled cereal on the carpet in front of a unit for weeks. The shuttle service is reliably late basically every day. It's a toss up on if you'll make your train with a minute or two to spare some mornings. This is not the building's fault, it is called a free perk amenity by management but in reality it is a mandate by the town because there are not enough parking spaces relative to the number of units. If you look this up on local news websites you will find more info. On nights and weekends the free parking is filled rather quickly, sort of a pain for guests. It doesn't help that the dumpsters can take up anywhere from 2 to 4 spaces at the back of the building- more if there is any sort of construction going on. I have nothing but good things to say about the maintenance staff. Russell and team has been great at communicating and following up on work orders. They were on point during the two snow storms that occurred while we were here, plowing and shoveling the uncovered lot every hour during storm and again afterwards. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the leasing office staff anymore since the most helpful staff, Angela and Priya are both gone, leaving behind the manager who I-along with several other residents- have not had a good experience with and try to avoid if I can. Otherwise, the open floor plan is pretty nice and it was great to be the first tenant in the unit. read more

The apartments here are nice and I consider my rent to be a good value for the space. That said, there was a change in management personnel roughly a year ago and things went downhill at that point. Maintenance has suffered (formerly secure doors have been broken for months), emails to the tenants are sent in the template for another Petrucci property and are so badly written that they're often hard to understand, and the gates to the "secure" garage are broken more often than not. read more

My husband and I moved here a month ago and we totally regret it we are originally from Texas. Let me tell you something we live on the fourth floor and all we smell from 8:00 PM and on is a terrible strong disgusting odor of marijuana this building has a chronic marijuana issue on top of it we hear children running in the hallway and playing in the elevators all night long we have contacted management we have heard nothing about what actions are being taking to fix this issue in addition the carpet's smell of dog Pee and the TV room is a stale smelly mess and most of the gym equipment is broken. Lovely, new building with solid amenities and friendly neighbors. The apartments are spacious with attractive, modern finishes and all of the common areas are very well kept with a cleaning staff on-site daily. The management staff is very friendly and they are also great at setting up resident events. The location has it's benefits and drawbacks, as it's just about a 25-minute drive from the city, but the building sits in an industrial area without a single restaurant or shopping area within walking distance. Apartment is brand new and as the previous review said, staff at leasing office is very responsive and professional and organize some interesting events for the whole community. Hence the two stars rating. However, the good stops here. First of all, rent is on the higher end and everything is extra money - pets, parking, extra storage space, even water. I understand rental demand is strong in the current market and landlord want to maximize their profit, as any landlord would do. Ironically, the developer of this apartment complex provides affordable housing in order to take advantage of some local tax incentive. Let's put aside whether such tax incentive is an efficient way of allocating tax payers' money or make any economical sense, which is another whole topic that could warranty some academic debate, but it definitely draws an ENTIRELY different crowd to the apartments. Without any exaggeration, police cars/ambulances are coming almost every week because someone in the apartment complex were having fights/arguments, or domestic violence were involved. The trash room, which residents supposedly should only put unfolded cardboard and plastic bottles outside the chute, were piled with unwanted furniture and cardboard that people are too lazy to unfold. AND there is my neighbors: they would talk nonstop from 3:00 am for an hour and a half on the balcony; turn TV on high volumes many nights till dawn without closing any windows/doors. Of Course the paper thin wall of the apartment do not muffle the sound... So be warned, if you want to rent at this place, it is your prerogative to do your due diligence, avoid noisy neighbor( although I haven't figured out how) and be prepared to pay extra! read more

I just moved out in May and still have yet to receive my security deposit back I've called the office numerous times and emailed Esther (property manager) and no response. I just reached out to the management company for this building and they said that they applied my security deposit to my rent but just never told me so I have no security deposit to get back. Things have been going very well since we moved in. Very convenient location and the amenities are great. Our only complaint is with regard to the parking situation. There is VERY limited lot parking and more often rush not, if you get home after 6:30 or so on weekdays and all weekend, the lots are overfull and there is no place to park. The spaces in the garage are expensive and it is cost prohibitive to pay for one, let alone 2 spots. If they can come up with a reasonable solution to this issue, it is more likely that we'll stay for at least another lease term. read more

Zero stars if I could. Station at Lyndhurst is a rip off. First of all, they are terrible with answering their phones. When there is an emergency, they don't answer, even during office hours. One time there was a sketchy guy walking around the apartment complex garage waiting for someone to open the elevator for him but was clearly being avoided. I was scared so I called multiple times and no answer. This complex is NOT safe! The garbage rooms are always full. During this Covid19, the areas are still not clean. The elevators look like they are falling apart and stairwells are disgusting. The parking in the garage is very tight. Some cars do not park within their lines and management does not care. This place is not good for those with disability either. For example, there is a storage room sign with PRINTED Braille. It is not raised. How can a blind resident find their way? There's no quiet times being followed and when brought up to management, nothing is done about the noise. Kids running and stomping all night. Management in general is just not accommodating. I'm heading back to Houston and I was thoroughly impressed with the efficiency of the Maintenance and office staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and very personable. In regards to those positive posts during February 2016, do you really need the money that badly? Way to mislead Yelp users. This place is already rundown. Despite the poor infrastructure (walls are very thin), the building spends $0 money on maintenance. The hallway carpets are a disaster, the elevators (when working) are never cleaned, paint is chipping on almost everyone's front door, and the grounds make Newark look clean. There is trash everywhere outside on the buldling's premises!!! These problems can be easily fixed if the building spent a little money. If the buliding was better maintained, it wouldn't have to resort to renting to so many out of town month-to-month renters as well as Section 8 renters. The "bbq's" purchased are funny as well. They get to a max 150 degrees. Cheapest building ever. p.s. I agree with everyone else - the Management / Leasing office workers are really nice. But if they walked around the building, you think they would stress the need to clean it up a bit. read more

Angela leaving was one of the worst things that happened here at the station. Russell coming on in maintenance , the best! We were told that we would most likely get storage after a short wait. It is 15 months in to our 18 month lease and no storage. We had many many months of our washer & dryer not working and our electric bills were enormous because of it. We had respiratory breathing problems because after months of living here the dryer vent wasn't connected properly. I'm the first to admit that when contacting maintenance and scheduling an appointment it becomes difficult to free up a unspecified amount of time but Russel is great. The months that went by with dumpsters overflowing, raccoons climbing out of them, no extra parking, my son in law having his car towed from across the street, Is just an unacceptable way to live. There have been many evictions in my small area alone, so it makes me wonder what the requirements are of living here? Modern looking? Yes! Poor quality & high price! Refrigerator is the cheapest saw it at Best Buy for...$600... Water pressure in kitchen horrible & never cold. The beautiful walk in shower needs a $100 shower curtain because regular shower curtains are too short. Just beware ! read more

I've over heard the office manager, AMANDA, speaking about guests negatively while getting my mail (numerous times/ how unprofessional?). Also, when any issues are brought to Amanda's attention she does nothing to resolve them and suggests going to upper management. This is suppose to be a "luxury" building but that's a complete joke. AND I REPEAT, THE ENTIRE SECOND FLOOR HERE IS SECTION 8 RESIDENTS AND THE PARKING GARAGE CAMERAS ARE FAKE!!! They just installed cameras facing outside the garage entrance but how does that protect the vehicles inside?????? It doesn't. Numerous cars have been robbed and vandalized here yet management says they aren't responsible. So what are we paying hundreds of dollars for to park in whats suppose to be "secure" parking lot???!! The elevators are disgusting. One day somebody had broken a glass containing some type of powder and it was left there for over two days. Also, more than once dog shit and pee has been left in the elevators. THE HALLWAYS ARE NEVER CLEANED. THE GARBAGE ROOMS ARE PACKED TO CAPACITY WITH ROTTING FOOD (I HATE EVEN TOUCHING THE TRASH SHOOT HANDLE)! Kids smoke weed in the club room and hang out in the weight room to watch TV (how uncomfortable while you're trying to workout?). The list goes on and on.
