Maintenance has fixed this twice but it's still happening. One of the doors to the garage is constantly broken and whenever it is fixed sometimes the fob key doesn't work to open it. From from the moment you enter the lobby and then visit the floors, you will see just how shabby, unkept and rundown it is. For nearly two years there has been massive construction throughout the parking area with no end date in sight. Not only are you subject to jackhammering 8 hours/day from 8am to 4pm but the dust has encapsulated everything. Please see the plethora of complaints on all review boards. Because of the ongoing construction parking is severely limited so you are forced to valet your car leaving the tenants furious and irate. There is no guest parking and therefore valet charges all the visitors $5/hour. There is more than ample reason the building is never at full occupancy as the turnover rate is enormous, rightfully so. There is only ONE washer and dryer per floor for 18 apartments which break constantly caused by the overloading. They have outsourced the machines to a private company in order not to deal with it and instruct the tenants to use another floor. Tenants are apoplectic especially when their clothes are trapped in standing water. Management has absolutely no regard for tenants inconveniences. NONE! The front desk staff are nothing more than potted plants who do nothing more than press a button to open the doors ONLY if you don't open it. Half the time no one is even at the front desk. They are either upstairs, leave to get food and or asleep so anyone can enter the building. Security is non-existent. The garbage rooms on floors are beyond disgusting. People throw trash on the floor with food still in it. There are complaints of mice and roaches and nothing is done to correct the ongoing problem. Nothing is ever washed and/or steam cleaned. Carpets, garbage rooms, etc. One tenant described her floor like living in the slums, it's so disgusting No rules for dog owners and several tenants allow their dogs to urinate right outside the front door in the rotunda. Others tenants allow their dogs to urinate directly outside the side door and also defecate in the garage. Dogs urinate on both the front and side lawns and bushes, rather than simply using the opposite part of the sidewalk. There is no handicap ramp in the lobby which is a violation. You have to go through the garage to the side door in order to avoid the stairs. This is an enormous hassle coming home with groceries as the concierge just sit there. Even more precarious is trying to maneuver a stretcher down these stairs as the emergency vehicles are unable to access the side door because of the low clearance. The elevators are extremely small and can only accommodate four people. Your moving company will charge overtime for the extra trips it will require in addition to not being able to fit any large furniture. The tenants all denigrate the building manager James Mason. If excuses were an Olympic sport, this management team would take home the Gold Medal leaving you exhausted with his loquaciousness when it comes to addressing any problems. His excuses are so banal and outrageous they're devoid of all reality. Many tenants are so exasperated and furious by James behavior, they use expletives to describe him. The overall condition of the building can be attributed to his total incompetence as a property manager. It is so filthy dirty and disgusting it will leave your skin crawling. Give the plethora of newer, well maintained apartments throughout Hackensack and Bergen County, I could nor would I ever live at The Pierre. Don't take my word for it but rather inspect the entire building thoroughly to observe first hand how long overdo a complete and total renovation is. The building is a pigsty, just look at filthy stained furniture in the lobby and the inside of the elevators before inspecting the basement, garage, floors, laundry rooms and especially the garbage area's. You'll gag! There are also rats by the Luxor lockers as they are kept outside in a covered area.

Many residents complain about their apartment having leaks. None of the appliances work. There is not one "luxury" detail here. Cars have been stolen in the covered parking areas. Residents do not clean up after their dogs. Residents have complained to me that they hear gun shots from the shooting range that is on the property. The building has no number out front so packages are constantly lost. Management send messages on the butterfly app that make you feel like you are residing in a dorm. Constantly telling you they will enter your apartment. Fire alarm goes off daily. Elevator makes this loud screeching sound when ever used. Cops always on property due to residents fighting mind you this property opened Dec 2022. No cameras to see who stole vehicles. Cameras are in front of the building and in common areas (mostly used to stalk residents) No trash cans on property. Peter is rude and mike sends messages with Mike the owner when making threats after you complain. Management question visits if they are on the lease or ask who they are visiting (This is not converge service the building has none). $3200 for a 2 bed 2ba to hear drilling Monday - Saturday from 6a - 6p 6 days a week. Construction workers park any and everywhere. No amenities are available yet. They promised us March 2023. Pool might hold 10 people comfortably when it is finished with construction. Grill area does not exist. "dog walk" is a sh!t show literally no one cleans after their dog. Management wants you to put in work order through them via email instead of maintenance or portal. Save your time and money. Can't wait until my lease is up. They also accept low income housing / Section 8 here. They recently got rid of house keeping so now the maintenance woman has to clean the entire building on top of completing repairs. (They work her like a dog) She does building 300 along with 301 & 400. You will see "Mike the Owner" lurking from the new leasing office in building 300 just watching residents. I will continue to update as time goes on. Hoping other residents write reviews to EXPOSE the BS. I'm almost certain they will have a class action lawsuit for FRAUD!!! Oh and "Mike the Owner" is a lawyer who believes he is above the law perfect fit for a SLUM LORD!!!

Leaving the city was scary. I was deciding between living in a house or an apartment and I visited many of both. I decided, as a single mother, I would rather live in an apartment building, with doormen, security, and lots of neighbors around. Luckily, I have an Aunt who lives in Alpine who told me I MUST live at Towne Center. She kept saying "These are NICE people" (the NICE was heavily emphasized and had multiple meanings). I am so grateful to her! First, I met with Anna the leasing agent of the building. Anna was a breathe of fresh air compared to other agents I have encountered. She is a true professional, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and kind. The smile on her face is genuine and warm, not fake and sales like. She was an absolute pleasure, made the application process seamless and worked with me to meet my needs. I am extremely gratefull to Anna for helping me in so many ways. Research: I spoke to numerous people who currently live and have previously lived in the building. Most of the my aunt knew already so they were very honest with me. One couple who were both doctors lived in a beautiful three bedroom with high ceilings, an upstairs loft and storage area and they had a grand piano in the living room and a full dinning room table. They had lived there for about 12 years. Also, I spoke with young couples and professionals in their 30s and 40s who worked in Manhattan and had no plans on leaving Towne Center even though they could afford very nice homes. True story: When I first moved to Engelwood, I met a family on my sons soccer team who had lived in the building. The wife told me wonderful things about the friends they made and the husband told me if it was up to him, he never would have left. They had a live-in nanny in their apartment with two children and a third on the way (both Harvard graduates). For me, coming from Union Square where I could get anything at anytime, I put a high value on location and convenience. As a parent, being able to run downstairs to CVS for late night cold medicine or across the street to Shop Rite when I forgot the hamburger buns was a life saver. I knew I wanted the safety of a 24 hour doorman and round the clock security. The under ground gated garage means I would never have to shovel snow or get stuck at home because of weather. And when my car battery died, I had people to give me a jump in minutes. When I walked into my new apartment, I felt the sun shinning on my face, saw an openness and lightness in the rooms and knew immediately that I made the right decision to live in Towne Center. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large, the living room has tons of natural light and there is plenty of closet space. If that wasn't enough the other reasons I rave about my apartment building are as follows... SASHA and JORGE are the superintendents of the building, taking care of anything and everything. I CAN NOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH can not how phenomenal they are and how welcoming they have been. To say they go above and beyond is an understatement. They take pride in their work, do an exceptional job and they care about the people who live here. You may think this is not so important and I promise you it is! They make us smile every time we see them are always able to lend a helping hand. I have been living in apartments for 25 years, with many superintendents, Sasha and Jorge are in a class by themselves. In addition, from the first time I stepped foot in the building and every time since, ALBERTO at the front desk and ALFONSO made me feel like I was home. They have such positive energy and have been so kind to all of my extended family and friends. Concerns: no place is perfect. I listed some things that are challenging. - There are some doormen/woman security guards who are outstanding and there are some who are not. Turnover is high and so there is inconsistency. - We pay an assessment fee for a few amenities but before I lived here there were Sunday brunches for everyone with bagels and stuff. During the pandemic that stopped doing them COVID. The assessment fee did not go down and nothing was introduced instead of the Sunday brunch. - I am thrilled to have a gym in the building and it also needs a tech update. Only one of four TVs works well on the treadmills, there are 5 "watchable" channels - In this day and age I would at minimum expect ESPN (sports at a gym) and basic cable / streaming. - For new tenants rent went up 6% in one year and you can only sign a one year lease. You should be able to sign multi-year leases. - We have a cool movie theater, which also needs a tech update. BOTTOM LINE: I LOVE this building and my happiness greatly outweighs my concerns. We downsized from a home to a two bedroom…read more After seeing many of the apartments in the area and dealing with a lot of sales people we were very taken by Anna and her honest concern for our needs. she didn't try to 'sell' us on anything, she readily admitted when a floorplan was not right for us. she was incredibly patient with us and worked with us the whole step of the way until we got approved. She remains a great resource for all our needs well after the lease was signed. since moving in, we have been pleasantly surprised at every turn. coming from a large home where things needed fixing every other day, I can't say enough about the maintenance duo of Sasha and Jorge, lead by the building manager, Jude. for a building this size youd expect to have to wait for repairs, instead, they show up almost immediately. there is a very efficient online maintenance request form and it really works. since moving in we had A/C issues and appliances malfunctioning and Jude made sure we had replacements in our apartment to minimize any discomfort. one time I told Jude not to bother bringing a replacement, that we'd be ok until the repairs were done, but he insisted! he had a new unit purchased and installed at quite an expense to management. we really feel cared for. the front desk staff are wonderful. eager to help and always greet me with a smile and a kind word. the other tenants here are so friendly and caring and respectful. I find it very quiet and kept clean. I highly recommend Towne Centre.
