DO NOT LIVE HERE…read more This has been a week and a day of my own personal hell on earth. They do not know how to call. They only know how to email which is extremely unprofessional. They say you can move in and have you come 2 hours just to tell you you cannot move in. 12/3/23 - My boyfriend and I tour the brick. The first thing we say to them is "This is urgent. We need to move in on 12/9 because that is when we check out of our hotel" (we have been living in a hotel for 2 weeks before this) Jack, who is giving us our tour, lets us know that that is more than doable. Great! We take the tour and everything seems awesome. One issue is my boyfriend does not get paid until the end of the month with his new job. No problem, jack tells us, you are more than welcome to submit an offer letter. 12/4/23 - We apply to the brick. My boyfriend and I make more than 5 times the rent combined. My boyfriend submits his offer letter, and I submit my paystubs. Cool. 12/6/23.- We hear back from Jack! We just need my boyfriends employer to verify his income and then we will be approved and the move in date is set for 12/9. A little weird we think, but its fine. My boyfriend goes into work and tells his employer to respond to their email. His employer did not get an email. My boyfriend calls the brick and tells them we did not get an email to verify income. No response until the next day. 12/7/23 - The brick responds and says they just got the employers email and will email back asking to send their letterhead. My boyfriends boss sends the letterhead proving his income. No response until the next day. 12/8/23 - Jack says we did everything right and everything looks amazing and we should get approved today, he just needs to hear back from his supervisor. He tells us we need to have certified checks, insurance and the PSEG (electric) ready to go before move in. We get all of those things ready. We pay for insurance. We pay for the PSEG. We pay a $600 holding fee to hold the apartment for a week. We get certified checks totalling almost $6,000 together from the bank. 12/9/23 (move in day) - Jack emails us and says that he still has not heard back from management. Keep in mind, we live 2 hours away, so we are already on our way over. Jack tells us he should hear back today so we can move in. Cool. We get there, cant move in yet. He still hasn't heard back. Notably, we were upset at this point. Whatever. He says he has an appointment right now but will call us in an hour. We cut our losses and leave. An hour later, we get a call from Shannon, not jack. Shannon tells us that the management company isn't in on weekends and we wont hear back until Monday. Now, we are pissed. We moved all of our furniture two hours to this place. Just to be told we will not hear back until Monday. 12/11/23 (today, Monday) - We get a call from Shannon at 9:30am saying that she heard back from management and my boyfriend needs to submit his paystubs. I say to her, last Sunday when we toured, we let you guys know that he does not have a paystub yet, hence why we went through the trouble of getting the offer letter sent and the letterhead. She says it doesn't matter, he needs a paystub. I say ok, let me call him then have him call you. She says ok no problem. Not even 2 minutes later my boyfriend calls back and gets told Shannon is now in a meeting (she did not tell me this). I call them again at 10:30 (gave them an hour for good measure). I tell them I need to speak with Shannon. The concierge tells me he has been telling her to call us back and he even emailed her to tell her and she didn't even answer her own concierge. Whatever. I call again at 11:30, just to see if she is available now. Still nothing, she is not available. Then, she calls my boyfriend back about 10 mins later. She tells him the offer letter he sent isn't a offer letter. We sent the offer letter on Monday, last Monday keep in mind. And they are just now telling us this. At this point we cut our losses and call the Walcott who are amazing, and approve our application within 30 mins.

Management has made living here unbearable. Happy to move out after car damage by there valet…read moreservice and lack of amenities. Loss concierge portion and pay more for amenities. Overpriced for cheap luxury apt. Was a mistake signing a 13month contract to live here. Neighbor had water in her ceiling from flooded apt above. Let's just say management didn't fix it right away. There is hidden mold in the walls that they paint over. Marijuana smells are often. Feels like college dorm vibes. Wake up in the morning and try to get my car takes 30mins. Just whole idea of luxury is not there. Toilet broke in a few months. Buyer beware you've been warned about this apartment building

Management is the most unprofessional team I ever met. 1…read more Onboarding - apartment hunting was a nightmare, if I didn't show up physically there was no answer from the leasing office at all. 2. Concierge services were canceled with no alert to the resident. 3. Best for last- Parking is absolutely the worst I ever experienced. - No space for all the cars - Cars blocking other cars - I got my car scratched - Valet service is horrible, within the last year: *got my car stuck on the lift because the valet couldn't find the keys to the car parked at the bottom. at least 3 times. * The car wasn't ready on time although I requested it on the system 15 min in advance. at least 10 times. *My phone number and my car registration in the system got deleted and it took up to a month to fix. I started to report to the management by email regarding the parking on December 26th, 2023. still, no improvement or solution was provided other than trying to stall. Initially, they asked me to try to ask me to provide a solution, but they didn't approve after I made it, and since then, no reply from them.

Front lobby night doorman keeps changing, I can't keep up with who's who. 2-The building lobby and public area are ok, but not as luxury as they appear. Units are definitelg huge and patios are nice. 3-Noisy apt. Noise from street cars, ambulances, buses and trucks, gardeners, and from jets and airplanes. I hate it and had to move out. With the door close, it is bearable.

We rented a two bedroom renovated penthouse in January 20 21…read more 2 weeks after Audi started building announced that all three Elevators would be replaced over 9 month period. The replacement took over the year, they were times with no elevators and we had to walk up and down from the 18th floor. There were times we had to go into an elevator on memorial day weekend plan and other holidays) with people moving their furniture in and out of the building. The building had a faulty fire alarm system they were nights where the fire alarms went off multiple times discontinued for many months until the building replaced the fire one system. The building shares a swimming pool with 160 Prospect Ave. a swimming pool is part of the online advertising , the swimming pool has never been open. There were multiple other complaints, which I will not enumerate. Suffice it to say we are thrilled to have moved out of 140 and have put this nightmare behind us. Anybody looking at the building should inspect and ask questions. The building may be better at this point in time than we experienced; however, we should have been told about the elevator replacement and multiple other issues. The other other issues included rain and snow coming through the doors and windows.

From from the moment you enter the lobby and then visit the floors, you will see just how shabby, unkept and rundown it is. For nearly two years there has been massive construction throughout the parking area with no end date in sight. Not only are you subject to jackhammering 8 hours/day from 8am to 4pm but the dust has encapsulated everything. Please see the plethora of complaints on all review boards. Because of the ongoing construction parking is severely limited so you are forced to valet your car leaving the tenants furious and irate. There is no guest parking and therefore valet charges all the visitors $5/hour. There is more than ample reason the building is never at full occupancy as the turnover rate is enormous, rightfully so. There is only ONE washer and dryer per floor for 18 apartments which break constantly caused by the overloading. They have outsourced the machines to a private company in order not to deal with it and instruct the tenants to use another floor. Tenants are apoplectic especially when their clothes are trapped in standing water. Management has absolutely no regard for tenants inconveniences. NONE! The front desk staff are nothing more than potted plants who do nothing more than press a button to open the doors ONLY if you don't open it. Half the time no one is even at the front desk. They are either upstairs, leave to get food and or asleep so anyone can enter the building. Security is non-existent. The garbage rooms on floors are beyond disgusting. People throw trash on the floor with food still in it. There are complaints of mice and roaches and nothing is done to correct the ongoing problem. Nothing is ever washed and/or steam cleaned. Carpets, garbage rooms, etc. One tenant described her floor like living in the slums, it's so disgusting No rules for dog owners and several tenants allow their dogs to urinate right outside the front door in the rotunda. Others tenants allow their dogs to urinate directly outside the side door and also defecate in the garage. Dogs urinate on both the front and side lawns and bushes, rather than simply using the opposite part of the sidewalk. There is no handicap ramp in the lobby which is a violation. You have to go through the garage to the side door in order to avoid the stairs. This is an enormous hassle coming home with groceries as the concierge just sit there. Even more precarious is trying to maneuver a stretcher down these stairs as the emergency vehicles are unable to access the side door because of the low clearance. The elevators are extremely small and can only accommodate four people. Your moving company will charge overtime for the extra trips it will require in addition to not being able to fit any large furniture. The tenants all denigrate the building manager James Mason. If excuses were an Olympic sport, this management team would take home the Gold Medal leaving you exhausted with his loquaciousness when it comes to addressing any problems. His excuses are so banal and outrageous they're devoid of all reality. Many tenants are so exasperated and furious by James behavior, they use expletives to describe him. The overall condition of the building can be attributed to his total incompetence as a property manager. It is so filthy dirty and disgusting it will leave your skin crawling. Give the plethora of newer, well maintained apartments throughout Hackensack and Bergen County, I could nor would I ever live at The Pierre. Don't take my word for it but rather inspect the entire building thoroughly to observe first hand how long overdo a complete and total renovation is. The building is a pigsty, just look at filthy stained furniture in the lobby and the inside of the elevators before inspecting the basement, garage, floors, laundry rooms and especially the garbage area's. You'll gag! There are also rats by the Luxor lockers as they are kept outside in a covered area.

The noise is loud even on the upper floors, and intolerable on the lower floors. The building is filled with dust.
