UPDATE: They have been good to work with after the initial hiccup so I'm changing my rating. Original Review: I had a 2-4pm window for a $750 emergency tarp job and they no called and no showed. I called at 4:30 and was told they would be there but were running late. Now I just have a leaky roof and have to call another roofer. I realize that companies are busy right now because of the weather but communication (or lack of it) says a lot about a business' respect for the customer. Our 1981 house had the original Spanish tile roof still on it until last week. We had a small leak. However, during a recent wind event, a portion of the roof blew off, and we realized, finally, that it was time for a new roof. We opted to keep the same style - Spanish tile - but wanted all new tiles. Did a considerable amount of research and asking around, about which company to use. We received a few quotes, which were all similar. But Statewide Roofing stood out for the number of customer reviews received. And the reviews were all 5 stars. I know reviews can be shill/fake reviews, but these all seemed legit. They have someone answering the phone. No voice mail. Once we were under deposit, Cody came to our home to tarp two vulnerable sections of our roof before a rain storm. Once they started working, they moved efficiently and quickly. One crew strips and cleans your roof. Followed by a carpentry crew who replace any bad wood. Then the roofers come and lay down a double layer of paper and then install the tiles. They work cleanly and they work hard. Lastly, they brought our roof up to code by adding attic vents and installing a bunch of vents that we need, but which our previous roof was missing. I can't recommend Mitch and his team more highly! We had a scary looking splintered beam in our attic. They were the only ones that would come out and GO ON our roof ( (Most people would not do this??!?) and assess the situation thoroughly. Mitch thankfully referred us to a structural engineer who was able to determine the best and most cost effective way to repair it and then Mitch's guys came shortly after that and did the repair and a roof tune-up in a few hours. Statewide does great roofs! Mitch and Cody Hale are a pleasure to work with. My husband and I saw our neighbor get a good roof from them, so we gave them a call. We got a couple other bids too, but theirs was the best overall. Our new roof looks perfect. We had no major problems. Everyone was very professional, wore masks when appropriate, gave quality workmanship, and did great clean-up. While my husband and I worked hard to stay on top of everything and monitor progress, Cody made it easier for us by giving good referrals, and helping us work out a schedule and order of procedures with the painters and solar panel installers. This review is long overdue! It was a couple seasons back when we had the insane winds here in Thousand Oaks and my wind turbins were blown off my roof. Then the rains were coming and I had a hole in my roof from a lost turbine. Cody and his company were booked solid with roof repairs from the extensive wind damage done to many other residents but...he sent a few guys over and they tarped the hole on my roof out of kindness. He later replaced all the turbines with new ones and I'm very pleased. Dealing with Cody and this company was my pleasure. We needed a new roof for our entire house. Prior to calling Statewide Roofing, we obtained 3 other estimates from different roofers. Cody stood out from the other 3. He promptly met with my husband and I to explain various options. He was thorough in his explanation of the materials that would be used. He provided us with two estimates, one to replace with new tiles and the other to re-use our existing ones. We chose to use our existing ones with the replacement of a some that were damaged. No pressure sales from him!! Comparing apples to apples with the other estimates, Statewide's estimate was very reasonable!! Most importantly, none of the other companies even mentioned pulling a permit. We were told it wasn't necessary! That was a huge red flag for us!! Well, our new roof was completed last week!! The work crew showed up on time, they were respectful, and cleaned up each day after they were done. Cody was present on the first day to explain his expectations to his crew and to ensure all of our questions were addressed. He was always readily available for questions along the way. The work was done on our one-story 1960s era home in Thousand Oaks. I wish I could leave no stars. I contacted Cody and set up an appointment to get an estimate on re-roofing my house. Cody never showed up. I contacted him again a day later and he assured me he would come out the following day. Again, he didn't show up, and he didn't call. That was two weeks ago, and I've yet to hear from him. What an unprofessional way to do business. If they didn't want to do the job, they should have just said so. This review is solely with respect to their professionalism and responsiveness as we ultimately went with another company for the project.  We secured quotes from 5 different company's with their quote being the highest BUT that really isnt saying much because they were all very competitve; each of them were only within a couple hundred to a thousand dollars of each other.  I next broke down each of their proposals as to what was included, confirmed their insurances, bonded status, materials used, whether or not they used subcontractors, and, of course their responsivesness to questions, online reviews and BBB status/remarks but still could not really shingle (;-P) one out over the other.  Nolan was also very helpful in redirecting me on the choice of manufacturer for the shingles because I was clearly misdirected in my online search :-/ We ultimately decided to just go with the contractor with the the soonest availability. read more

What a great find in Statewide Roofing. Cody came out the following day of our phone call. We had a major leak that required a remediation. We had to have drywall removed to access the problem area. Cody assured us that the leak would be found and we would never have to worry about it ever again. He gave us options on how to proceed with our choices of new materials. I am very happy and also pleasantly surprised by the old fashioned style customer service I received from this company! Cody came out for a roof leak immediately, spent about an hour tarping to hold me over for the impending rain storm. He then returned to do the repair, and charged me what he originally said he would, which was reasonable. Yesterday, I received a hand written thank you card in the mail, and so I had to share my good experience. This just doesn't happen. There was a time when Cody did not get right back to me. And with the overload of roofing work our community has been experiencing, I had to imagine him tarping someones partially burned roof the way he did mine without charge. We had a large Oak tree fall on our garage roof. The cement tiles, underlayment, gutters and downspouts were damaged. Not a huge job, but had to be done. Statewide Roofing finished roofing our house in April 2020. What can I say, they were quick, good, on time, clean and patient with our request. They kept us informed every step of the way. They worked with Precision Painting, another great company, to coordinate the painting of our eves with replacing the roof. State Wide's price was with in other companies' price, however they provided additional work such as placing the cupolas on the roof and suggested to add additional roof vents to keep the attic cooler. I typically do not write positive reviews for contractors as it seem most all do not follow up and have other issues. Mitch has been in business a long time, he re roofed my last home about 13 years ago in Newbury Park and has done work for several of my friend and family. I just called them on a Saturday to set a time for them to come out and inspect my roof in advance of the predicted heavy rains we are supposed to get and they answer the phone and will be coming out early next week.
