GreatWay roofing is by far the best roofing company in the area. We were notified by our insurance that we had 6 months to get a new roof or they would cancel us. Of course, the notice came in the middle of the rainy season. I called every highly rated roofing company in Ventura County and was either never called back, stood up after making an appointment, or given an informal and insanely high quote. I contacted GreatWay Roofing after I posted a desperate plea on NextDoor. I called and they setup an appointment for Brandon P. to come out the very next day. Brandon was so kind and explained everything to me. He even had a folder with their liability insurance, their license, a list of questions to ask contractors, and the brochure of shingles to pick from. He measured our roof and was able to quote me on the spot. Their quote was half the amount other roofers had quoted me and they were so much more professional so we said yes immediately. They worked with us since we had a strict timeline to make sure we had the roof completed prior to the cancellation date from our insurance. Every bit of the process was incredible. I ended up being out of town and they sent photos and videos each day. My husband was shocked at how well they cleaned up and how fast they were. I contacted GreatWay through their web portal email service and literally within minutes I received a call back from Cindy and booked an appt for the following week for site inspection and quote. Rod arrived early and looked it over. It's a relatively small flat (metal) roof area. He said it appeared not in need of repair and overall still looks to be holding up. He also suggested, if I wanted, it's a simple roll-on liquid acrylic product (avail at Home Depot) I could easily do myself (or a handyman), at a much lower cost than if any company were to do it. We used GreatWay roofing to remove and replace our roof in July 2020. They were absolutely fantastic then and we have been so happy with our roof. Fast forward to now and with all of the crazy storms, we experienced a leak. We weren't sure where the leak was coming from and decided to give GreatWay a call to see if they could help diagnose the problem. They were super responsive and had a crew at our house within 2 days. The crew was super friendly and determined it was not a roof leak (Yay!) but could possibly be a stucco leak (not yay). GreatWay Roofing was referred to my wife and I from various folks as we needed to ensure our roof was in good shape before our next reissue of our Fire Insurance and auto policies in May. We wanted to be proactive BEFORE the insurance company finds a reason to not reissue our policy, which is becoming very common nowadays. These insurance companies are now flying drones over homes to find moss or natural elements they feel will affect the roof and therefore a reason not to approve the coverage. GreatWay was there to view our roof so I knew what to do, if anything, before our reissue date coming up in May when it would be too late to fix any possible issues (including a powerwash of the entire roof I might add which is a common reason to deny coverage). This limits the insurance company from having another reason to deny the homeowner coverage. GreatWay is the real deal as evidenced by their stellar ratings from my contacts, not to mention Yelp and Google. read more

After the big rain season in 2023, I discovered that my home has roof damages all over the new tile roof installed ten years ago before the solar panels installation. I was not aware of that the solar roof contractors cracked many new tiles of the roof after they were done and now causing the roof leak when it was rained heavy. The moisture also caused the termites to got to the wood of the roof. I treated the termites and then got a quote of the repair work from GreatWay Roofing which was reasonable and provided a 5 years warranty. 2 of the 5 bids asked me to put on a new roof because the current one was beyond repair. I eventually went with GreatWay because of the warranty and the reasonable costs. The crews did a great job but the estimation of the work was off and costed much more time for the crews to complete (instead of half day of work, the crews spent full day to complete the repair work). So they provided me an update of the costs increase. I agree that the increase was reasonable and proceed with the work. After the work is done, they provided me of pictures of the repaired roof and also they will come back to check on the roof after the solar panels will be put back on by the solar contractors. I thought of dinging them with one less star of the review. However, they explained to me of how they got the estimation off and the need to work in the PM as well for the 4 crews on site. The increase of costs were reasonable. Thus I agreed with it and did not try to take advantage of their off estimation. Overall good experience and good workmanship. Will update if there is any warranty work needed in the future. I recommend to at least ask for a quote and get informed decision of what roof solution or the way how they will repair your roof damages to see if they will earn your business. read more

Gateway were competitive in price and landed in the middle of the range as it related to cost. I called Greatway Roofing and talked to Matt. My project was to replace the shingles and fix broken rotted tiles and replace the metal flashing. Cost was reasonable because I wanted quality shingles. They arrived early last Friday a crew of 4 after the heavy Thursday rains. Emilio was the Foreman. Very polite and they finished in under 3 hours. They hauled away all the debris and left the place spotless. Not one nail was seen on the ground. I used them for my roof of my house in 2019. This review is solely with respect to their professionalism and responsiveness as we ultimately went with another company for the project. We secured quotes from 5 different company's with their quote being the mid range but they were all very competitve; each of them were within a couple hundred to a thousand dollars of each other. I next broke down each of their proposals as to what was included, confirmed their insurances, bonded status, materials used, whether or not they used subcontractors, and, of course their responsivesness to questions, online reviews and BBB status/remarks but still could not really shingle (;-P) one out over the other. We were referred to GreatWay Roofing by a friend who hired them a few years ago to replace their tile roof. Matt came out and gave us the option of keeping our tile instead of replacing it. This was great news because the total budget I had in mind came down a bit and overall I felt GreatWay's estimate was very fair. Matt took us through exactly what the installers were going to do and he said once the work started, they'd know if any damaged plywood would need to be replaced, in which case this should be the only additional cost not included in the initial estimate. The day of installation, the installers arrived promptly and introduced themselves to us. The job took only two days and when they were finished, I walked the perimeter with Emilio so he could show me what they had done.
