Communication from the office coordinator to the hard working team of construction workers really needs improvement, so many things were left out in the design process and the project was delayed. Also trying to get a hold of someone to have warranty work is damn near impossible. If you happen to have a sales representative come by they will provide you with an overpriced quote at which you will spend a lot of time trying to haggle with them. As far as the quality of work done by the construction workers was good, do your homework before you sign on the line. We would definitely utilize another company if we decide to move into another property that needs bath remodeling. read more

I contacted statewide, after it was advertised as Kohler. I made the appointment to have statewide come out and give me an estimate for turning my bathtub into a walk-in shower. I was on time they were late. But I waited and they finally did show up. The two young men at first were reasonable. Did some measurements told me some options and then proceeded to do a very high-pressure sales pitch to me for a price which I told them upfront I could not afford. That did not stop them. They continued harassing me for another 20 minutes and try to convince me of ways I could finance the cost with them. I finally told them that I was feeling very disrespected after they had insulted my intelligence and they had insulted my home. I asked them to leave. They refuse to leave. I finally got up, went to the door and stood by the open door and again asked them to leave. They insisted on having me sign a piece of paper saying I declined their deal. I reluctantly did that just to get them out the door. I was starting to get very uncomfortable and a little frightened. In the future, I'll make sure to have another person there with me when I have any buddy come in to give me an estimate. It never used to be like this. We contracted for a complete bathroom remodel and spent 6 hours with the design team. Selected the glass door, plumbing modifications needed to convert a bath tube area to a large shower only space. The design team promised all that we ask for was well within their contractors ability. This turned to be only a sales pitch as the contractors were not even close to build what was planned. Not only were the contractors not able to follow the design the workmanship was marginal at best. During the construction phase, it had to be accomplished three times to just get a fraction of what we asked for. To this day we are finding things the will cause leaks in the shower walls around the window and in the tile floor. There was not collaboration between design team and the contractors. I was solicited at homedepot one day with a special of 75% off labor for a bathroom remodel. That was my first mistake. Salesman came out, told me all the great greatness about statewide remodeling. Finally the installation day came and the crew that showed up worked hard and steady. When they were done, it looked beautiful. But the shower pan was not leveled correctly. The shower rod scratched a 2in by 6in path on the new wall because the installer did not care. While demolishing the old shower they dislodged nails in the drywall behind the shower. Although they covered the toilet seat, it was while uncovering it that they broke one of the toilet seat bolts and left me with a dangling toilet seat. They charged me $19k. The installed didn't polish the new glossy walls, nor the new plumbing nor the metal shower handles, so everything was covered in sweaty forearm stains, dirty handprints, boot marks on the shower pan. And they never called back to ask how the job went. So i called them and pointed out these issues. They decided to rebuild the entire shower at no cost to me. But not before bringing in a guy that reviewed the work and proceeded to tell me that the house was crooked, my level was also crooked, and basically most of what he did was defend the first installer. Oh! The drain was also off center and it did not look pleasing. This dude and all the 2 foremen that were there that day, told me that in 8 years of him installing these shower pans, the drain has NEVER been centered. EVER. Such BS. So they redid the shower. The new install actually put in a new floor base, poured concrete, and set the shower pan in the concrete. Awesome. He even showed me the level. He installed the new walls, but I guess in order to not scratch the wall again, he cut the shower rod just a tad too short so it rattled anytime you touched it or the shower curtain. He also worked late. Awesome. But I think the later it got, the more in a hurry he was to get done and go home because I was certainly ready for him to leave at the 8pm mark. And because he was in such a hurry at the end, he left a mess. No one bothers to polish the final product. And one of the new wall panels started peeling at the corner with the ceiling. So I called statewide remodeling again. This time a field supervisor came to fix the issues. And it's still a mess. I would not recommend statewide remodeling. We decided that if we needed to replace the shower to stop the leak, we might as well move forward with a full remodel and have the kitchen ceiling repaired at the same time. * 8/7/2021 - After multiple sales meetings with Annette, laying out exactly what we wanted and selecting materials, we signed a contract with Statewide for a master bathroom remodel at a cost of $49,450 and put down a deposit of $14,835. We chose Statewide because they had good reviews, promised that our project would not start until all materials were in hand to avoid any delays, and would be completed within 7-10 business days of start because our construction team would not be allowed to move on to their next project until we had signed off that our project was completed to our satisfaction. We noted at the time we signed the contract that not everything we discussed was written out in the contract, but Annette assured us that that was just how these contracts went and she had everything we'd discussed in her notes to move forward from. This was our first remodel, so we didn't know any better. * 8/13/2021 - Statewide contractor came out to take final measurements of everything in the bathroom so they could begin ordering supplies. He noted that Annette had the wrong size shower pan in the specs, so he updated it with no issue or contract change. * 8/13/2021-10/8/2021 - We understood from Annette that it was our responsibility to purchase the following items: paint (which could wait until the job was in progress), hardware for cabinets/drawers, vanity light fixtures, chandelier for over tub, mirrors for over sinks. I followed up with Annette multiple times to ensure we had the correct dimensions to get these things ordered, as we were never provided a sketch of the remodel layout, and also to verify that there was nothing else we were responsible to purchase. We purchased all these items (except paint) and had them in hand within 6 weeks of signing the contract because we did not want to delay the process. * 9/2/2021 - Annette asked us to select new cabinets and sign a WOC due to a change in Statewide's preferred cabinet manufacturer. They had a comparable look, so this was fine. * 9/2/2021 - Annette informed us that the original Delta selections we'd made for faucets and fixtures were unavailable and tried to change us over to Moen, which did not offer a comparable look. We researched online and found the Brizo Rook line, which matched the look of our Delta selections better, so we requested these. This WOC was finally approved 11/5/2021. * 10/22/2021 - Annette asked us to go to Bellezza Stone and meet with Natalie, who had a slab of granite on hold for us to look at. We went, and fell in love with a different slab that we were told was in the same price group. Natalie put Annette's name on it for a Stateside hold and we understood that the two of them would handle whatever needed to be done to keep the slab for our project. * 11/17/2021 - Annette let us know they couldn't get 24" towel bars and asked if we were ok with 18". I said ok, then found the 24" available online through a simple google search. Annette confirmed that they could get the 24" after that. * 11/30/2021 - Annette let us know the shower tile we selected was no longer available and we needed to select an alternative. On 12/2, she said she would check with production to let us know the time difference in waiting for the tile we originally selected or choosing a new one. We didn't hear anything from her for a month, until I followed up on 1/7/2022. She basically said there was no update and dropped off new samples of tile for us to choose form on 1/10/2022. We selected new tile and signed the WOC on 1/21/2022. * 3/11/2022 - We were contacted by Jessica Shelton (Production Coordinator) to let us know they were ready to start our job. We scheduled demo day for 3/14/2022. She also introduced us, virtually, to Josh Derrington, our remodel supervisor, whom she said would keep us informed daily. I asked if they would be demoing the kitchen ceiling at the same time as the bathroom, but Jessica said she wasn't sure and would forward that question to Josh. I had an estimate from a Hispanic dude that seemed fair. There was no warranty with his work. I ended up hiring Statewide and was very sorry I did. They charged a lot more, but they offered a 10-year warranty. First, they didn't get a construction permit for the guy their guy contracted out (he 'subbed out' a Hispanic dude just at like I nearly did) . Their guy couldn't speak English, but their handler did. The day after they finished, I had water leaking from the plumbing they had worked on while remodeling the bathroom. He did damage to my pipes. I called about the leak and they sent a kid out who said he was their 'staff plumber who worked for Statewide'. He turned my tankless water heater off, made a phone call to his office, and came downstairs and told me I had a slab leak. He left without turning it back on. Installation was a disaster - they did a very poor job of fixing the damage they did to the walls to fit the tub thru the bathroom doors. Then we started getting water from the water dump from the AC that was not even hooked up at all. Took them weeks to respond. Now the metal plate on the door closure fell off and they indicate they can't get out to fix it for 6 weeks. My wife is an invalid and needs to take baths for God's sake. Words cannot express how uncomfortable our consultation was. We went through Home Depot, and the from the moment the salesmen walked into my home, I was very concerned. My husband was finishing a work call, so I started the consultation alone, but the salesman insisted it was "company policy" that my husband and I both sit down with him as it was going to be a 2 hour process. My husband and I are on the same page- we trust each other's judgment. I knew exactly what I wanted, very simple and had pictures. For a very simple tub/tile removal and adding a standing shower with a glass wall... they quoted us almost 25k. I literally could not hold in my laughter. Then the high pressure sales tactics came out. The gentleman called his "manager" to see if the price could come down. They said they could do 18k.... But only if we signed RIGHT THEN and if we left a good Yelp Review. The pressure made us VERY uneasy as we wanted to look into other options and get quotes from other companies. He told us if he left that he couldn't offer the 18k deal , at which point we no longer wanted to do business with someone so crooked. It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. Awful experience! Sales guy was nice, but made promises they didn't keep. One such was a designated crew who only worked on our project until it was finished. Um--nope! The 2 day shower replacement job took 2 weeks. We had, I think, 3 different crews in that time. The first crew finished the material out around the shower door with a really raw, rough, and unfinished look. Things were cut crooked and didn't match up. I called the company and complained. They sent out the guy that was supposedly in charge of our job. He agreed it looked bad, and said he'd send them back out to redo it. They also cut something wrong so they didn't have enough material to finish all the walls. So, we had to wait a few more days for them to get more in. They sent a different crew out. They made the outer part look better and finished the walls. They had to tear off what the first crew did though so it messed up our sheetrock. They were also not told how we had discussed having the threshold part, so they left a big gap between it and our tile. I called the "supervisor" guy again. He said he'd send someone to fix it. They also had to send out a guy to redo the sheetrock and yet another to repaint. So, after 2 weeks, our 2 day shower project was finally done. One of the biggest problems with this company is lack of communication. The "supervisor" and salesman never communicated what we wanted to the crew who was actually doing the job. Also, we were promised a promotional $60 Visa gift card when we signed the contract. We never got it. I told the "supervisor" that when he came to collect the last payment. (They were always available when they needed a payment.) He said if we didn't get it in a week or two, to let him know and he'd make it $100. We, of course, didn't get it. I let him know. He said he's send it out right away. That was weeks ago. I still haven't seen it. So, don't believe a word they say! The final product was not worth the high price we paid for it at all!! The shower rod that they put up (permanently with screws) is crooked. They also left materials/trash at our house and all over our driveway even though we were told they would haul everything away. After 2 1/2 weeks of dickering with the locals I finally got the attention of the VP of Production, the man who ostensibly could solve all my problems. After 8 weeks of further haggling with the VP where 4 remediation events were cancelled and rescheduled, Statewide only works on Fridays and can't work when there's a hint of rain, I repaired the floor myself. Had a master bathroom shower installed and was happy with it, so we decided to have our home siding replaced. Was called sept 6 by Cindy. She said they said my one window that was missing would be on the delivery truck on 7th and that she wanted to go ahead and start installing our windows on 8th or 9th. If you are calling to get a window consultation, schedule 3 hours. The salesperson was on time but we had no idea what we were in for. A full hour long PowerPoint presentation on how awesone Statewide is and all their awards and then how horrible every other company is and all the scams they run and lies they tell. Very unprofessional. After that hour you get a physical presentation with a heat lamp and different windows and then you get to see their window and all that takes 20 minutes or so. Next up is counting and measuring, another 45 minutes for 30 windows. Now the guy has to input all those numbers into his computer to pop out your quote. This takes another 15-20 minutes. For the last 45 minutes or so he will pressure you to buy RIGHT NOW!! If you don't you lose all the discounts and you only have 30 days to lock in the non-discounted price. We told him we were not ready to purchase, we understood about losing the BUY RIGHT NOW discount, but he had to tell us 10 more times. Then he goes into doing only 6 windows and he figures that price. We say no again. Then he says how about 2 windows. No thank you again. Then he shows us a page on his computer with all the BUY IT NOW contracts he has sold this year. Not sure why I was supposed to care but we got to see it anyways. And finally he asks us if he would have quoted half the price would we have bought right now. No again. He said he would never do that but just wanted to see what we said. WTF? read more
