My wife and I hired Eli Gale, d/b/a Gale Contracting Services, to replace the flooring in our…read moremaster bedroom and bathroom. Within that job, he was also to replace our shower with a bathtub. His work was a disaster of epic proportions. Unfortunately Yelp is not loading the pictures of his work. Here is a description. Mr. Gale, installed four separate types and colors of tile on the wall, using material he had left over from prior jobs, and expected me to be ok with this mish mash of tiling he put on my wall. The tiles didn't match, it looked awful, and moreover the tiles are too heavy for the walls of my manufactured home. I had 5 contractors come look at and bid the job of fixing all of this, and all of them told us that the tiles would have caused the walls to collapse. I told Mr. Gale this was unacceptable and he would have to fix it. He then suggested installing a shower wall surround, to which I agreed, so as to just get the job done and move on. He said he would have to build a wall to provide the 3 sides necessary to install the wall surround. I agreed. Unfortunately Mr. Gale apparently does not know how to use a tape measure. He installed the new wall board horizontally, instead of vertically, and it left this big gap on the wall that he was apparently going to cut out pieces of wall board and put them in the gap. But the pieces he did cut and try to put in the holes he created weren't even cut to the size of the gap. The framing he did wasn't even the same height. Of course, the main part of the job, tearing out and installing new floor and subfloor, I haven't even addressed. While it seems that the floor he installed in the bedroom is ok, in the bathroom, the tile he installed in the bathroom also should not be used in a manufactured home. Every contractor who has come out to assess this job has told me that. It is already coming loose from the subfloor, and wasn't even installed properly. He did not remove the toilet or the cabinets before installing the floor, and he apparently thought that the cutouts of the tile around the cabinets and eventually the toilet, were an acceptable way to install a tile floor that I should be ok with. In sum, this man is completely incompetent. Do not hire him to do any work in your home.

I used the company HANSCO, a demolition and excavation business, to remove an old and…read morenonfunctioning pool in my backyard. After getting extremely high bids from pool companies for the pool removal, I decided to see if a demolition company could do the work instead. I'm so glad that I found Shane at HANSCO. He was prompt and professional when he came to look over the site. We also had an old tree that had been planted in the patio area that had completely outgrown and cracked the concrete patio. He explained how they could also remove the tree and cracked concrete at the same time that the pool was being removed. The backyard would also be leveled after all of the removal work was done. The day that the work was started, all of the men showed up on time and immediately got to work. They removed the 6-foot cyclone fence from around the pool and all of the vegetation that had grown up through the years. Then came time to start the demo of the pool itself. They broke up all of the concrete sidewalk around the pool. This was something that the pool company was not going to do. The pool company only fills in the pool, so there would still be evidence that a pool had been in the backyard. The other workers then started on the tree removal and broken patio removal. The entire project only took two days to complete. I even asked about a couple of small tree stumps that were in the backyard that weren't included in the bid, and they quickly removed those for me too at no extra charge. I need to mention....HANSCO's bid for the entire project was 1/3 the cost that the pool company quoted me just to fill in the pool! He then painted with Spray paint, which never looked good but I didn't want to be difficult. Within 2 months the screws and the joints are rusting. I texted to ask what to do and he said to use spray paint. Which obviously won't work. I said his job is failing in 60 days, he should come to fix it, and he stopped responding. I'll note this wasn't a cheap job either. I paid $1100 for a 6' and a 4' long railing. Disappointed.
