Do not hire this company. They performed water mitigation in one of my rental units. They padded the numbers. They charged much higher prices than other mitigation companies. My insurance company, USAA, is investigating them for fraud. They exceeded standard pricing guidelines established by the industry by a large amount. I was forced to pay the difference from what the insurance company said should have been the fair price. The management of the company ignored my repeated requests to talk to them. Broke and chipped multiple tiles while removing the baseboards after some water damage caused by a leak. They send someone out to take pictures and then followed up with someone who was going to cover the damage with molding. It was a compromised fix but I agreed to the repair. The repairman was going to come fix the tile and install molding on Friday but called on Thursday to tell me he was told by QD Restoration not to repair the damage caused by their negligence. They keep telling me my Insurance will pay. I have 3% deductible on my home policy so everything is out-of-pocket. Would not do business with these people. read more

I have been having the same issues as others recently. Going on month 5 with no kitchen. I keep contacting the "sister" renovators that show the same location as QD. I keep getting the run around and "call us next week". I have asked for itemization on what has been done, and nothing. This is my 78 yo mothers house and has a very small kitchen (Habitat for Humanity home) that had water damage due to a leak. We were always told that they would take care of everything. But now I'm in the process of looking for another contractor to finish the job and pay out of pocket since it's a hazard to my mom who has already fallen in the kitchen due to it being all open. read more

Consumer Beware On 2 October 2024, I had a water pipe break in my wall at the rear of the house. I called Goettl Plumbing. They were able to come within the hour. When the Plumber came, he said that he had to cut through the wall to fix pipe, which he did. I was talking about my decision to purchase a new hot water heater, pressure gauge and saltwater unit on the phone with individual from accounting and Rudy the plumber. While on the phone, three maybe four men came into the house and Rudy was telling where the wall needed to be cut out and insulations removed. I asked both men, Rudy and accounting man on phone with me, both told me they were contractors that they use to work on walls and such. I asked them if they were going to be included in my bill for over $12,000. Both men gave me the answer of yes. Towards the end of the afternoon, Goettl employees came to install all new units for me. Then I had a member of QD Restoration, LLC come to my door to check on the dehumidify. Now let me give you some bullet points for the rest of my experience. Men that put in the hot water heater put an extension cord on equipment and I failed the Schertz inspection. Seems that using extension cord became obsolete six years ago. So Goettl employees had to come back next day to fix errors. I had to wait four and a half hours for them to come even when I was told that they would be there within an hour. When I was told that the bill from QD Restoration LLC was separate from plumping bill. I was upset about Goettl lying to me. When QD Restoration called to discuss the invoice. I was told that I would be charged for TOXIC water removal. I had to clarify that it was not. Then I was told that I would be charged time and a half for member needing to come after five. I let them know that I was never given an option for a different company to come, and my house was in no way an emergency for him to come after five. They never called to schedule anything. They just showed up, QD Restoration called me to see if there was a way to get the insurance company to pay more of my deductible. Today I finally got an invoice to pay which was over $2,000. The insurance representative told me that plumbing companies make agreements to refer their companies and when that happens plumbing company gets funds from that company. read more

From the beginning they were difficult to contact. I had to call the Plumber who recommended them to reach out and let them know I had been attempting to contact them. As soon as my insurance company cut me the check to pay them, they called, emailed me, and text me every day requesting payment. Even after I told them I had sent the check already they continued to call. I also have concerns about their billing practice through home owner insurance. Seems very sketchy....BEWARE read more

The plumbing company I hired to fix a leak in the wall behind the refrigerator had QD Restoration come out afterwards and do the dryout. The dry out team did a good job making sure everything was dry, using the big fans, etc. I was very complementary of them at first, because they were very well mannered and professional. But by the time it was all over, my opinion changed. They left my refrigerator out in the middle of the kitchen as well as my washer and dryer pulled out in the laundry room. They charged me for resetting appliances and they did not reset them. The total charge for the dry out was $3,881.22. This is after I had paid my plumbing company $5200. Of course they have nothing to do with what I paid the plumber, but they were so conveniently sent to my house to do the dry out. The QD dry out team left taking carpet cut from the living room, leaving holes in the walls and I had the expectation that their "sister" company, (as one of the employees referred to them) would be coming out to complete the sheetrock, paint, etc. I did not hear from the other company at all. I finally called QD and the person I spoke to said, "Didn't Brandon call you?" I did not know who Brandon was, but I was told to call him. I called him and he did come out and did the measurements, etc. I asked him to copy me on what he sent to the insurance company. I asked for an estimate for the drywall, carpet replacement, etc. I think it took about a week before he got back with me and he still had not come up with the estimate, yet. He responded to me in texts only and they were simple yes/no answers. At the same time I was trying to get everything submitted to my insurance company as I was already completely out of pocket for the leak and getting information from QD was like pulling teeth. So finally, I get payment from my insurance company minus my $2000 deductible. The insurance company paid QD $1881.22 and I paid QD the balance of $2000. And after me hounding them for invoices and estimates, about a week after they received the insurance payment, they called my insurance company to report I had not paid the rest of the bill. I called them and ask that they send me a bill to pay. I can't just pay $2000 into cyber space with no receipt, etc. They did and I paid them in full. So after all that I still have to pay for my drywall and carpet replacement This leak in my kitchen wall cost me so far about $9081. I am adding all the cost information because I found the whole thing confusing and extremely expensive. Anyone having this done should know this ahead of time. I had no idea when I called Elmer's Plumbing that I would end of with a bill of $5200. I had no idea that it would cost $3881 for the dryout. My bad, because I should not have let QD do anything without an estimate first. If I had to do this over again, I would have called a plumber because the leak was very bad and it had to be fixed. However, I should have stopped before the dry out and got some quotes. read more

We woke up this morning with water coming from the ceiling in the living room. Not knowing if it was plumbing or from the storm last night, we started with a plumber who found the issue & recommended QD. They were here within an hour. Worked all day & left our house very clean for the amount of demo they had to do. The entire team was polite professional & great with my kids who wanted to watch everything they did! QD restoration failed to provide itemized bill, failed to respond to both our insurance agent and our phone calls- tried to claim they had not heard from our agent when we were on conference call with our agent when he made attempts to reach them. Their billing department and Julius have failed to provide reasonable a response to requests for basic explanation of costs-they sent a bill for over $15,000 with no itemization. Our agent has repeatedly asked for info and so have we. We are elderly and it has become clear QD saw an opportunity to take advantage of us. QD threatened us with collections notices before we ever received a bill. They have now sent this to a Collections agency without ever providing a reasonable explanation of what we are being charged for and not completing the work. They left us with plastic sheeting covering the holes where they ripped out ceiling sheetrock and a hole in the shower wall. We were told by one of their workman that their "sister" company would come out to complete-this was never communicated to us at the beginning of this terrible experience. This is a bad company who will inflate their price if they think they can get away with it. This is a bad company that will not provide honest service or good work. I see QD is continuing in their unethical behavior- the response by Monique R.-who has not made any effort to properly review or resolve our issue--She just posted wrong date- our project began 11/10/2022--NOT in August. No effort to resolve just to lie and try to cover their shady, unprofessional mismanagement of this entire horrible experience-Shame on you Monique R.-whoever you are as we have never heard from you. read more

I am a US ARMY Soldier currently stationed at Fort Hood Texas, aprox 2-3 hours away from my home in San Antonio. This week, while at Fort Hood, I had a plumbing issue that caused water to spill onto the floor at approx. 0230 am, when the water softener performed its backwash cycle. My son was the only one at the house and called me. He was able to shut off the water to the house at the meter, mop up the water then towel dry the floor within an hour. As the plumber performed his assessment, he asked if I would be interested in a free HVAC estimate, which I said sure, and scheduled accordingly for that Saturday. He also asked if I would be interested in a free estimate from QD Restoration. I said sure, then was told they would call me to schedule a time/date. This company NEVER called me, just showed up at my house. As I was handling everything over the phone with the plumber and hearing his discoveries, I received a call from someone (later discovered this was a QD Restoration rep) and advised me it would be a total cost of $4000. I did not know they were not the plumber when they called me. They then advised me it was time to pay over the phone, and I agreed, not knowing this company QD Restoration was even at my house. My son was under the impression they were part of the plumbing team as well. Anyhow after payment over the phone was made, they made reference to the plumber. When I asked aren't you the plumber, they responded we are working with the plumber. It was not until, I saw the invoice that I made the connection they were not the plumber, but the crew had already began work. They removed one piece of sheetrock in my laundry room and the baseboards in the small hallway. The floor was completely dry in the hallway, as well as the baseboard, so not sure why they removed such items. They left 5 blue fans and charged me overwhelmingly for the cost of their presence. The company called me and advised me they wanted to know my insurance company. I said I do not want to go through my insurance. They said your insurance is to pay for things like this. I said no I am not opting to go this route. They continued to press for my insurance information over the next few days, calling me stupid for not making a claim. I then advised them to come pick up their fans, as it was dry and the fans were just continuing to add fees, with no one from the company checking the area routinely. This company is shady, came to my home without my authorization then I felt misrepresented themselves as the plumber or plumber assistants, and charged astronomical prices, even creating excessive damage to my walls by not being careful. The circled pieces are not waterproof trim - yet miraculously these pieces are dry and undamaged. An impartial observer could easily conclude the pieces they removed (which were further from the source of the leak) were in better condition than the pieces left intact. Also, take a look at the bottom of the boxes in the closet where they removed every piece of trim. Do they look like they were saturated with water and then dried out? Fishy huh? Lastly, see how they removed the trim along with pieces of paint - I guess the "technician" only had a crowbar for the demo and doesn't carry a utility knife to slice away at the seam between the trim and the wall. Is this standard practice by QD Restoration so they can bill me to re-texture and paint the wall - despite no water damage. When asked for quotes they don't provide it and they work without approval and bill the insurance for the work which has not been done later on when questioned they change the bill. Not at all a good business and neither there practices are. Just stay away from this company to save your money, time and mental peace. read more

The absolute worst billing department I've ever worked with. Overinflated prices, they do not send estimates to claim adjuster for approval, and they send a final invoice 2 months after the work is done demanding payment. My adjuster reached out to them several times to get a breaknown of the work done and the cost which they completely ignored and then demanded entire payment. read more

NEVER do business with QD RESTORATION! We had a plumbing issue back in JULY and QD Restoration was recommended by the plumbing company, so we went with them. They came in and used the dehumidifiers and sprayed to make sure there would be no mold. They left the equipment an extra day or 2 to be able to get the humidity down another 2% (and be able to charge us hundreds more), but we went with it. We told them we wanted them to confirm everything with the insurance company before they fixed the ceiling. They never did. Insurance even called them multiple times with no response. In SEPTEMBER they sent me a bill for $2000 which included a minimum drywall and painting fee. I told them since I still had a plastic covered hole in my ceiling I would not pay them until the work was done. They said they understood and apologized. I again directed them to contact insurance and got a hold of insurance to attempt to reach them. Now it's JANUARY I get a phone call from them stating we've stated we do not want to go through insurance and would like to pay out of pocket, and they would like to collect. While this isn't what we've told them the ENTIRE time, by this time we've decided we're going to finish the work ourselves and really just want to pay for whatever work they've done and be through with them. They tell me since we are not going through insurance they are willing to offer a 20% discounted rate off our $4700 BILL - $2700 more than the bill that included charges for things they didn't do!!!! When I told the guy the work was never completed and that was way more than was ever quoted he stated this is standard charges, and it didn't matter that the work was not finished. Our garage had water all over the floor and it was leaking from the back wall. QD came out and dried out everything so we could get it all fixed. Nobody ever plans to call a restoration company and it is never good timing. Today, however, I called QD Restoration and was very quickly greeted with a very friendly, extremely professional and courteous representative. His name is Tyler W. and he could not have been more helpful in explaining the process that was about to happen. When he left my house I felt totally comfortable with his company in my house, helping to access a leak that couldn't be found without them. I know there are 100's of companies that do this work but when someone like Tyler takes a personal interest in your problem, listens to your concerns and explains it to you until he is sure you understand, it sets them apart. I can honestly say I've never had customer service like this, anywhere, period! Also wanted to mention the two guys they sent to do the dirty work, Josiah and Charlie. They were in and out as quickly as possible, answered all the questions I had and cleaned up like they were never there. Quality people, quality work! This week we suffered water damage in our home due to water leaking from our water heater. The water had affected the rooms adjacent to the water heater closet. Evidently the water had been leaking into these area for about 3 days prior to discovery. I called to have a plumber come out to assess damage. We replaced the water heater and was referred to QD Restoration to address repair of the water damage inside house. Carlos C. came out the same day to see what was going to need to be done. They placed heaters/blowers in the three damaged areas and left them for 5 days. They also removed carpet padding, base boards, etc. so it could dry out. Each day a tech would show up to monitor the situation and take readings. They put us on a daily schedule which was followed efficiently. We were called prior to every visit to let us know when they would arrive. We were kept apprised of the drying progress every time they were at our house. Both Carlos and Oscar were so gracious and concerned for our situation. As senior citizens, the situation had us upset, and Carlos and Oscar constantly reassured us that everything would be alright. Both of these men and those who came with them were extremely professional. I would recommend this company to any of you who experience water damage as we did.
