Wishing negative stars were an option. I would never ever recommend Jenkins to anyone or put trust in them. First things first, albeit should be obvious, please be sure to read any contract with a lawyer or someone who understands contracts. If you are stressed and displaced from your home, don't rush to sign anything. Take your time. Find someone who really cares. It will be worth your time, money and sanity in the end. Do not let insurance companies "recommend" a company to you, especially Jenkins. My parents are seniors and have been displaced from their home for almost a year now due to a pipe that burst and flooded their entire home when they were out of town. Unfortunately, during this high stress time, their insurance company suggested a company to help get the water out, assess the damage and restore. Enter Jenkins. My parents were so eager for help, that they signed a contract with them right away, which is completely their bad, but they are of a certain age, not tech savvy and they trust people way too easy. All they could think about was their home and things sitting in water, they felt helpless. Once the water began to dry, and us kids were able to wrap our heads around what was happening and begin to help them deal, we decided to do some updating to the house since it was in shambles anyway. Why restore it back to the 90's when we can do minor cosmetic upgrades and accomplish a much more fresh home and increase the value for them. We realized there was no getting my parents out of their contract with Jenkins, so we met with a contractor there to see how/what we could accomplish. The ask was nothing crazy - new floors, remove old wallpaper, demo old built-ins, layout the kitchen in a more open way, patch and paint etc. zero structural changes or wall removals. We brought in an extremely talented interior designer to help with colors and finishes. Why not?! My parents deserve it! Given how confident Jenkins seemed in our initial meeting, although lacking in sophistication, we thought we were in good hands with the contractors and we had a plan to move forward. Unfortunately, it became clear very quickly that our project scope was out of their league, and the drama ensued. After more than 6 months, of dealing with Jenkins and their dodgy work practices, all we ended up with were the new floors installed (incorrectly BTW), and one coat of cheap paint on all the walls. Nothing else. Jenkins walked away with all of their (my parent's) money and we have been left fixing their mistakes and pushing forward with a new contractor to get our parents back into their house. As soon as Jenkins "handed off" our project, that same day we moved on with our new contractor. Working with our new contractor has been like night and day in comparison to Jenkins. For example, Jenkins, at the most, would have two, maybe three guys working once a week, maybe. Meanwhile our current contractor has eight guys multiple times a week, and they are accomplishing such great work at a very speedy rate. We have much more insight into how much we were being taken advantage of by Jenkins and it is truly infuriating. Finally, our project is days away from being complete and we cannot wait to show our parents their beautifully updated home. Hopefully, the stress of this past year will fade and we can forget Jenkins was ever part of it. I can only imagine their response to this review. Mark my words, it would be ego based, excuse after excuse, zero accountability taken, and somehow everything would be our fault. Yeah right. We are beyond relieved that they are out of our lives, it could not have happened soon enough. read more

Do not use this company if your insurance sends them, they show up do no work demanding to have papers signed and then they turn around and bill your insurance company for a $175 trip and your insurance gladly pays. They are and have to be the biggest cons thieves ever. They just give you the runaround and say they will be st your house a certain time to do something and the dont come. I highly recommend kicking them out and rejecting their services. Ask your insurance for someone else or get find your own and check the comments and ratings. The water restoration part of the project was done with efficiency but the repair work took forever and was sub par. Workers would come a few hours a day and sometimes only a few hours a week. And, one of the subs stole a pancake air compressor from our garage. We would NOT recommend this company. read more

My insurance company chose this company to restore/repair water damage to the floors, walls and cabinets due to a leaky dishwasher. Caleb came out to get measurements and look to see what all was involved. He also took his time to answer our questions and concerns and was very patient and pleasant with us. These shit bags did our restoration for use due to flooding in our home. The quality of the work wasn't the issue but how their payment system went down. We paid there 4k and the people handling our case said we were good. Then ONE YEAR later we get a bill saying we now owe $2700 and if we don't pay, they will put collections on use. Do not go with these people. They're professional until the end when they want more money, and they are more than willing to extort you! They also intention waiting over a year to ask this. Worst part is they refuse to work with us and the person in charge of the account here in San Antonio refused to answer our calls or messaged..... You have been warned. read more

This is a review in regards to water extraction department. As a rookie homeowner who's husband is away on business, it was very stressful to find water soaking my brand new floors. Once I got ahold of my insurance company they dispatched Jenkins Restorations. within 3 minutes I was on the phone with their water department. I spoke to Chris who said he would be over in twenty minutes and he made me feel far less stressed than I had felt when I found the loss. Chris was really attentive and listened to my concerns about my new floors. His co-worker, I think his name was James then arrived and went into the attic to remove the soaked insulation. the poor guy was stuck in my attic in this Texas heat! TWO MORE Jenkins employees arrived shortly after that and assisted in setting the equipment. They were kind and informative and I signed up to have their repairs department come out as well. so far, this had been a stress-free experience. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS if you can help it! These guys came to fix a leak based on my insurance company's suggestion. After the job was completed, I found several issues and needed for Jenkins to make good on their warranty. Jenkins used a third-party construction company to do the job and any issues should be directed to the primary, Jenkins. I have left UNTOLD numbers of messages with Jenkins and finally had to get my insurance company involved. Not a fan. read more

Highly recommend this company for water mitigation ! We had an upstairs guest bath water leak, while caught early ended up involving guest room, linen closest, hall area, MBR closet, & downstairs kitchen/ living area ceilings. They were very professional and respectful; did a great job of explaining the water mitigation process, all the equipment, answering all my questions. They were here when they said they would be, and the process took less time than I thought it would! Clean up and the care of our belongings was super, as I was imagining the worse having never gone through this before. Not only was our water restoration NOT completed in a timely matter to mitigate water damage, the Jenkins workers were rude, unprofessional, and quite judgmental. Straight out I was told about how we had "too much stuff." I know they were trying to handle too many projects at once, because they kept saying so, coming back and forth from our house every other day. You can't mitigate water that way! In 10 days, we had a fan and dehumidifier and they partially packed up--my USAA adjuster told me he had already contacted them about being too slow. This morning they charged into my house after being absent most of the week, upset my dachshund and ordered me to take charge of her. I had asked 15 minutes to get dressed, put in my contacts, and move her and then take my car out the garage so they could move in my furniture. By the time I came down from upstairs, all hell had broke loose. After I became exasperated with them, they told ME I was rude and disrespectful. Why, of course, it was all my fault! Oh, and they want to press charges on me because they said my 14 pound dog nipped someone's heels while I was out of the room. I was never so glad to see someone out of my home. read more

Worst situation! I had a fire in my house. Had friendly gentlemen show up and tell us everything is going to be ok. Then you watch the cameras in your house and find out that it is anything but "OK". The employees, which we found out later one was a supervisor, were caught on camera saying " Just rearrange things and make it look like we were in there" and "Hey just get the big items so they can't hammer us on the obvious items" The salesman tells us they are going to Chem Clean my house with special sponges and chemicals and instead they grab my pledge out from under the sink and uses PLEDGE to clean a few inches on my walls, clean my sofa, etc. They were suppose to clean out all my cabinets and dishes to remove the soot and damage and they are on video wiping their sweat from their brow, wiping their hands on their shirt and then using his shirt to dry my dishes. All of this transpires in which the insurance company is going to pay $3400.00 to clean. So I contact a different Supervisor who sits in my house and says "Man when you told me you had cameras and wanted to show me what you found, I just cringed thinking what my guys put in their pockets.....I am so glad they didn't take anything" I snapped back and said they did, $3400 that was supposed to be spent on cleaning. I then gave the alleged "Supervisor" a glass from my cabinet that still was black with soot and showed him what his guys called complete. I did this just in case the videos were not enough. Jonathan Miller and Joe Valadez, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Nationwide...on your side? No and when all of this was brought to their attention I was told "I received a letter from Jenkins and they are telling me they are standing by their employee", "So what do you expect me to do" Crazy! I expect you to review my videos and take my side....the customer who pays for insurance to make sure they have a company who has their back during a difficult time in their life. All in All the worst experience! Do not us Jenkins, think twice, and hopefully you have an adjuster that cares about you and your family during their time of need. read more

My home was affected by fire about seven months ago. This was the most stressful time in my family's life. However, I want to acknowledge certain people like Danny Mariscal and his team (Rene Rubio, Joe Phair, Martha Martinez) from Jenkins Restorations who without their help, good heartedness, and excellent customer service our family would not have made it thru this extremely difficult time. My wife and I had some water damage during the holidays. We would have to have wall cabinets and counter tops removed in the washroom, Sheetrock taken down, wet insulation pulled out, hardwood floors removed and replaced and then new paint and Sheetrock repair done. Our home was just under two years old and we insisted that everything be done professionally and restored "good as new". Jenkins was a referral so we went with it. Even though there were a few challenges along the way, we could not be more pleased with Brian Andrews and his team. From day one Brian has always been available to answer our questions and kept us abreast of every detail along the way. This company is amazing and I'm very meticulous when it comes to this stuff. Chris Foster came by to explain the entire process from the beginning to the end which was very professional and very easing due to the damage incurred by a water leak. Chris incrementally checked the progress and contacted me to ensure everything was to my liking and if I was satisfied with the work being done. Manu and his team came in to work on repairing the drywall, bathroom and bathroom flooring along with painting. The finished product for my bathroom is AMAZING!!! Professionally done and family has been very impressed with the work. Additionally, selecting a painting choice was made easy due to the variety of colors provided. Manu and his team cameback after another team laid carpet and touched up everything again just to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Matt and his team came in move all of my items in my home to lay carpet. They were quick and professional. They didn't waste time and accomplished all the work fast. Overall, I will utilize this company again. Professional, Courteous and efficient are just a few adjectives to use when dealing with this company. You can't go wrong. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Joseph Bustos was the 'assigned' project manager. After the emergency patch work completed by the Jenkins (Austin office) in June blew off the roof, Joseph never came back to replace or even start the job. Joseph admits openly that he blew us off.
