    Brisket and pulled pork

This is some awesome Q! Only a short 15 minute drive from Ithaca, State Eatery is serving up some top-notch bbq. We had the brisket and pulled pork. Both were moist and tender. The brisket has a great bark and the right amount of fattiness. The pulled pork is great with the Carolina mustard sauce. We also got a half-pound of ribs. They were spot on tender as well, with just the right amount of smoke. The sides were excellent. We got the mac and cheese and potato salad. Both were awesome! Don't sleep on the baked goods. We got the lemon tart and an extraordinary almond cookie. The prices were about what you would expect for good bbq. Bring your wallet and an empty stomach. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely love them! Great BBQ, amazing drinks, and the folks who work here are insanely nice.

We were visiting the area and were so excited for the weekend to arrive so we could try this place out. The place is literally a little garage, so no curb appeal whatsoever but when you get out of the car you are just smacked right in the face with the most amazing aroma you've ever experienced in your life. It appears to be run by a young couple and everything looks absolutely divine. We wanted to buy every single thing, no exaggeration. The woman was very kind and you can tell this is a local favorite and they are kept very busy! We settled on croissants, cinnamon croissants and the bread pudding. I can confidently say (and our entire group agreed) that these were truly the best pastries we've all ever had. Our only disappointment is that we are leaving town tomorrow and we don't have enough room in our bellies to eat more of what they have to offer. Spoiler alert, I'm going to make a valiant effort to go back today to grab some bbq for lunch because if their pastries are this good I can only imagine what that bbq is like.

Such a great find! The breakfast biscuits were sold out with the people before us. So we ordered lunch--a brisket sandwich with coke slaw on homemade bread. It was so tender and juicy. The sandwich was big enough to share. Our friends ordered by the pound which was a great idea to sample the different meats. The bakery had so many delicious choices. We narrowed it down to the rum raisin pastry, a toffee brownie and two cookies: peanut butter and chocolate chip. For drinks we had a Pellegrino sparkling water. Only a few chairs for outside seating. We brought our own just in case they were all taken. Call ahead ordering is available so you don't have to wait in line. Parking is limited.

I found this place while creating an itinerary for a family trip to Seneca Lake. State Bakery & BBQ did not disappoint! Due to our schedule, we visited for breakfast. They have a few breakfast sandwich options (chicken and brisket) and lots of pastries to choose from. All the treats were delicious. There are a few picnic tables aside this garage. I do wish the grass was cut and that seating area was a bit cleaner and more customer friendly. My only complaint is the woman at the counter accepting payment was abrasive. It seemed like she didn't like non-locals supporting a local business. That's the impression my family got. Hopefully that won't be anyone else's experience.

Great pastries and the meal options are very popular. Recommended but parking can be a challenge.

This place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". It is basically in someone's garage but the food was SO good, especially the cinnamon croissant. I wish we bought a few extra pastries for later on, but we will definitely be back next time we're in the area. Also dying to try the bbq for lunch!

Wow this place is good! Not much to look at (it's basically located in somebody's garage), but boy is the food good. I got a delicious pulled pork sandwich and a couple of cruffins. What's a cruffin you ask? A muffin made with croissant dough. Mine had coconut on top with a cream filling. Soooo good! A little on the pricy side but the food is top notch. My only quibble (and it's a small one) is I wish they had different sizes for the sandwiches. Mine was awesome, but it was also soooo big. I didn't really need to eat a sandwich that big at 11:30 in the morning.

I loved it! It's a raw bakery off the side of the road. I came here based on the photos here on Yelp. They had yummy fresh treats and the food was great! Definitely going to make it back when I'm in the area. They seemed to take many pick up phon orders. Very convenient for times we are in. Loved it! The only thing was the biscuits would be better I'd they were warm on the sandwiches. Sticky bun was so good!!

Me and my partner were staying in the Finger Lakes area for a few days, and we ate here TWICE! We got the egg & cheese biscuits, one with bacon and one with sausage. The sausage is really delicious. We had a long drive back so I also got the smoked chicken sandwich with roasted peppers, eggplant, and greens on house made sourdough, and wow - this sandwich is the bomb. We got home hours later, I still had the second half of the sandwich so I ate it with some mayo added. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. I guess if I have any suggestions it would be serving that sandwich with mayo on the bread because it really made it come together. I wanted to buy a loaf of the sourdough and am still regretting not doing so. I really loved stumbling on this spot, a great hidden gem with delicious, fresh baked bread, pastries & BBQ.

Bbq box with brisket pulled pork Mac and cheese beans cornbread. All delicious

Excellent brisket pulled pork Mac and cheese baked beans. And the house made pastries...the lemon tart and almond cookies and peanut butter cookies were amazing! Come early before they sell out!

Just driving by- my hubby saw the sign with the word "smokehouse" and slammed on the brakes! Best little find of the trip! What a great place! It's a "grab and go" with no seating but the best pulled pork we've ever had. The giant roll was tasty and not "too much!" Adding the coleslaw to the sandwich made it perfect!

Great design-your-own sandwiches, and if you like, friendly suggestions from the staff. It was our first time in, and their helpful hints quickly showed they have every filling (savory seitan!) and every topping and a nice variety of breads. We got their "Italian mix" of cold cuts, which included Genoa salami, sweet tender thin-sliced baked ham, and meats that were either mortadella and capicola or at least richly-flavored alternates, provalone cheese, tomato, onions, a light amount of lettuce brightened with a splash of Italian dressing and a dash of fresh salad-oil, and a sprinkling of what we call "hots": lightly-spicy pickled peppers. All this on fresh French bread, which could have been with sesame, or could have been ciabatta or whole-wheat French or several others. We added a light scatter of our own crushed pistachios, which are in some mortadellas. Nobody said this couldn't be fun :-) The sandwich was a heavenly armful, shared amongst us on one of our woodsy picnics. Extra kudos again to their cheerful helpful (patient) staff!

Then I walked up to the counter and asked the person making the subs how long it would take. I was informed one sub was made, but the second still needed to be completed and would be ready shortly. So I sat back down and waited some more. After another 15min another employee ringing up a walk-in customer realized I was waiting a looong time since I had been sitting there for almost 40min total. That person asked me what I ordered and immediately found it waiting behind the counter! It was never moved to the pickup shelf and was completely ignored. Once I got home I submitted feedback to DiBella's via their website. I was sent a coupon code for my next visit. I waited a week then decided to use the coupon to order on my phone app. Well, the coupon code would not work no matter what I tried. I used my laptop's browser to order with the same result, "coupon code not found." I then submitted feedback again to DiBella's on their website and to this day I have not heard anything back from them. I've decided to give up on them completely and tried to delete my account via the phone app and received the error message, "Route not found." This is the most amateur operation I've ever seen. I just want to say the employees of the Ithaca location are VERY nice and have been the best part of my experience with DiBella's. It just seems like once something goes wrong, the efforts to make things right just make it worse.

It was fresh, flavorful, and I especially liked the addition of the radish--it's not something I would have thought to add to avocado toast, but it worked really well. I'll definitely remember that idea the next time I make one at home. My husband ordered the egg bagel sandwich with crispy kale. The kale added a nice texture and flavor, although he felt it was a little oily. We also had an Americano and an espresso, both of which were freshly brewed and made for a great start to the drive home. If you're looking for a good breakfast and coffee spot in Ithaca, Hound and Mare is definitely worth a stop.

I think that's called the Washington Park neighborhood, or west-Downtown. For pickup, we parked on Meadow. To eat in, there's a pretty large parking lot on Court Street. We saw what looked like more than 40 pastries in the display case, more than 15 bagel varieties, smoothies, teas, lemonade, and a host of creative coffee beverages. Of course, i got an espresso, neat. Rich, dense, dark, hot, perfectly drawn. And a regular Americano with oat milk. Fresh and tasty. Got a generously decorated well-crisped BLT to-go. We split that enormous blueberry, strawberry, kiwi tart. I wont even tell you what we added on top, but i'll say it was nearly next door ;-) Quick friendly service. The man taking our orders the first day was also incredibly kind and you could tell he just enjoyed his job, or at least was happy to be there. There's also a mini shop here basically. There's fresh bread and prepackaged meals here like Shepards pie and fruits and veggies. There also was plenty of cute merch and I left with two designs. Two things that I didn't like. Ordering was a bit chaotic. There are labeled areas that show where to order what, but if it's your first time in it can feel overwhelming and you might be wandering a bit figuring it out. I wish it could all be ordered at one spot, not like it's a food hall. I understand that this probably does work the best for them though and is most likely pretty easy for ordering if you're a local. Lastly, I had an issue with a woman working the second day. They have a big menu and I was looking at it above her head while ordering. She was fine while I was talking, but stopped me when I went to walk away. She said "You know, you really need to face people while you're talking to them." What! So awkward and weird. That's the main reason I took one star off because it caused me not to go back again. Very rude and felt like a mini lecture for no reason.
