I don't know why they gave it a second chance, but I'm glad they did! Long story short, and under a previous manager, the kitchen did not follow through on their promise to accommodate dietary needs. Today, the 'new' management rectified this by apologizing, and gave them a $25.00 gift card for future use!! Bravo!! As for this visit, it's a cute but typical bar with bunk seating along one wall, and bar tables with high seats filling the rest of the floor. A few large TVs strategically placed around the room. The entrance comes in through the patio, which has been enclosed and had heat emanating from the ceiling, making it comfortable for dining on this cold night. Although we say inside, I liked the ambiance and feel of the space. One downer for me was that the booths are really too tight for 6 people, but it was cozy. It was loud inside, and occasionally hard to hear the conversation at our table. As for the menu and food: they offer typical bar food - sandwiches and fries, onion rings, and finger foods. I came fully expecting to order the fish tacos, but will have to wait till next visit for that dish! Still trying to eat healthily, and ended up with a cowboy salad with a grilled chicken breast. It was good. Service was stellar! Attentive. Because of this I give them 5 stars today. The rest of the visit was still 4 stars. I would go back - next time for fish tacos!!

We each were drawn to the Dragon Bowl, so we got that. I spiced mine up a lot (my cayenne) and enjoyed it. Healthy enough but man, so much more $$$ than it needed to be. No wonder I fast for 2-3 days at a time! Ha! Food whether dining out or groceries is pricey! It's a great people watching spot. There is a nice bar. Lots of lot parking. I'd return for sure.

We found them on Google. It's a tiny little place in a strip mall in kanata. We were pleasantly pleased when we called and they had a table. When you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and a welcome both times. It is comfortable and beautifully decorated. It's very classy but you can also come in casually dressed. Their menu is diverse, and everything I've had both times here has been beyond delicious. We usually try a few appetizers to share, dinner, and dessert. Whatever brand of prosecco they have, there is the beat I've tasted in a restaurant. The bartender/waitress/owner is super friendly. Both times, we had such a nice chat with her, and you just get these genuinely nice vibes. I've left happy and relaxed both times and have recommended this restaurant to so many people. The tataki, tartars, and fruit and cheese platter appetizers are really good. You will leave pleasantly satiated.

The flank steak was a very good dish, the chimichuri had a good kick, but did not overwhelm my palette. The deconstructed key lime pie was unique and a reason for me to go back in the near future. A few reviews on Yelp criticized the strip mall location/gas station in the parking lot. Sorry, I did not notice because I was busy enjoying the great food and chatting with my wife!

I was told they opened approximately 2 years ago during Covid. I arrived in my 30 min time frame and my food was ready! Paid cash. Was handed the bag and whoever had tied it up had snarled a hair in the tie knot. It was black and I saw it as soon as I received the bag. Out I went, hoping for the best. I can blow off a lot of things but not foreign hair near or on my food. Didn't get a chance to see too much of the bar/eating area. I got the half rib rack. Never again, it wasn't enough food and I'm not a huge portion eater. A few fries, very small coleslaw and that was it. Full rack next time. Pretty good! The Louis 72 sauce was what I chose on the ribs. It was good but not enough. Had to pour my own Bullseye at home but it paired well. The fries are interesting. Grooved. Not sure if they are fresh or frozen. I cut up some fresh tomato, green onion and put that on top of my plate. Still starving! Anyways, $20 does not go very far these days but that's what this meal cost me. 3 stars graded for the hair and portion size. I wonder if you get more dining in? I bet so!

I know that the "mandates" have been lifted, but it was strange, as most restaurants I've been to recently the servers still wear masks as a precaution. We went for the "All You Can Eat Boneless Wings" special. If you get this special one day when it's on, skip fries and get a side of sliced veggies instead. The boneless "wings" at St. Louis Bar are not as good as the ones you get at Wild Wing. St. Louis has less wing sauces than Wild Wing does. I also feel that the ones at Wild Wing are bigger and meatier (less dry, less breading). The boneless wings were okay. The pickled Caesar that I ordered didn't really have a rimmer, but otherwise it was good. I probably would not visit St. Louis Bar & Grill again. It's just another sports bar. Nothing really special.

Two things I liked and will bring me back are: they are celiac friendly, and, have a 1 to 10 scale for the level of spice you want to have. We are are an extended family with some odd food allergies and food intolerances, so finding a restaurant that makes everyone happy is gold. I did spice level 2. I would try 4 the next time, as my dish ended up being good, but a bit bland. It was the XO dish. The person who had the best experience ordered the Pad Thai, level 10 spice. They found their meal to be perfect. I will note he has a very high heat tolerance. I had some Sashimi to start, and it was perfectly prepared. Decor is brown/black and gold with lots of windows. It's casual, but in a nice way. Overall everyone was happy and we will return.

Ambience is nice, it's pretty inside and on the darker side. The chairs/furniture can use an upgrade. The food unfortunately has not been the same. All the sauces have a similar taste. The pad Thai sauce was so thick and had way too much of it :( Same with the black bean. My daughter ordered a second round of avocado rolls, and it came out in less than a minute and was warm :/ It's heartbreaking because I truly appreciate all the waitresses hard work however I will not be going back.

More creams and lighter oaks used in the dinning room. It was a pleasant and nice change. The fam and I came here for a family get together and it was fine. I do frequent Moxies in other parts of the city frequently so the menu can get a tad tiring as its stayed pretty consistant over the last couple of years with some minor changes. I decided to try the beet salad which was new to the menu. It was large and it was topped with SO SO SOOOOOo many crispy beets, that they were all stained and stuck to my teeth and lips when I went to the restroom. I had no idea. It is not a "date friendly" salad. I also ordered the espresso martini which was $5.00. It was very potent and tasty, but it didn't come with 3 espresso beans on top which is supposed to be for luck. The hubby had the mahi mahi and I tried the mashed potatoes and they were delish. Service was to the point and not overbearing.

Moxie's fit the bill. I've been to Moxie's before, but only locations in Toronto. They are all kind of the same, which is not a bad thing. The food is consistently good, service is attentive without being intrusive and the ambiance is modern casual. One of my friends was coming from out-of-town and we hadn't seen each other in 7 years, so we were chatting and chatting and the poor server was waiting for us to order. After several attempts she said to close our menus when we were ready to order and she'll take the cue to come over. I thought that was fantastic. And she was super patient with us. I got the Thai Chicken Salad ($25.50). I asked for the salad dressing on the side, and it came as requested. I advised her I was allergic to sesame seeds and poppy seeds and she let me know the manager will come and speak with me, as that is their practice for all allergies. The manager came and let me know that the salad and dressing did not contain sesame or poppy seeds, but there's this crunchy mix they have that they purchase but no longer have the packaging so cannot rule out contact with sesame. We decided that the best option would be to have it on the side and I could visually inspect it and decide whether I wanted to eat it or not. I appreciated their extra attention to allergies. I didn't see any sesame seeds in the crunchy mix, so I added it to my salad (I can tolerate sesame oil, just not actual seeds, so I was confident I'd be fine). I enjoyed the crunchy texture it added. The salad was mostly arugula with maybe some cilantro or other herb. The amount of chicken was very little, but at least it was lean breast meat. It had shredded carrots and red cabbage. Avocado slices, cashews and pumpkin seeds. The dressing was a creamy cashew dressing. I enjoyed the salad. I was going to get some dessert, as I love their mini desserts, especially "bite of brownie" but I was surprisingly too full. My first choice for dining out is always small local independent restaurants. However, I would never object to going to a Moxie's. In fact, I'd say of all the chain restaurants, it's my favourite. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. (103)
