The bones of the house looked solid but there were cosmetic things we know needed to be addressed. To find out more during escrow, we hired Diamond Property Inspections after talking to a few home inspectors and getting quotes. Their initial response was professional and knowledgeable. They were not the cheapest but their initial contact was the best and they met my schedule. He worked for 3.5 hours as he painstakingly took the time to assess the homes conditions. I was there and walked around the house separately. He caught the things I saw and a bunch of stuff I didn't. Late that evening he emailed his final report. His report was thorough and illustrated there were other stuff that we had to be concerned about including an aged HVAC. We submitted a request for repair credit which the seller tried to negotiate down but we did not accept it and walked away from the home. It was the worst inspection experience I have ever had as a real estate agent…read more Brian Spain met me and my buyers on a Sunday and kept reminding us that we're lucky he's there on his day off. Within a few minutes of meeting my buyers, he calls my buyer a meathead. He proceeds with F Bombs in every sentence and just acting obnoxious instead of focusing on the inspection. When we were inside the house, he closed the front door to make sure there were no "black" people and then proceeded to tell us racist jokes. One of them was how he would pronounce my name as a black person. I was mortified! My clients only flew in for one day and I knew we needed this inspection but it was 4 hours of absolutely inappropriate behavior and comments. This inspection should have taken 2.5 hours max but because he was more concerned about telling jokes and going off subject, it took twice as long. He continued with racist jokes and even mentioned private parts in the inspection. Incredibly inappropriate! I DO NOT recommend Brian or his company. It was truly an appalling experience and I had to profusely apologize to my clients.
