Everything started of well until you make your final payment. Then they add on that you have to bring paper plates and forks and paper towels. like we didn't pay enough money for this hall. Then we had catered food from outside and the servers just stood standing never served the guest. And mind you we had over 15 big trays of food and we had ran out of food by the time the last three tables were due to eat. Just horrible. we had to run to a restaurant and get more food because of they would've served the food that Would've been more than enough food for everyone. Then they want to say that we didn't tell them to serve the guest. what we paid for then. Another thing their was the wedding cake was falling apart because they said they didn't have fridge, came to find out is was broken and the cane came apart. Asked for water they never came with it. I threw my sisters baby shower here on Friday 5/31/19 and the place was beautiful, clean, smelled good, and just gorgeous! I don't want to call him little guy(I forgot his name) but he was so helpful and did everything for me and even came outside to help me unload everything out of my car. Anything I asked of him he did with no problem! He was a sweetie! The lady that was helping serve the food and cleaned up was also sweet and she set up all the food for me. The bartender was excellent and he even made a Colombian rum punch for us that was amazing! The valet parkers was great and fast! They really made my day so much easier than I expected and I tipped everyone for my appreciation and they were very thankful. Now Kenny (The owner) was such a sweetheart from the beginning and gave me a good price to use his beautiful Hall. He will work with you as much as he can. Every time I came to his office we talked like we knew each other for years! He was very welcoming and makes you feel comfortable! He always picked up his phone anytime I called and answered every question and any concern and always was reassuring. Anytime I wanted to come in to view the place to get more ideas on how to decorate he said come on in, no problem! Even when I was getting off work late he'll say come on I'll wait for you! He was just always nice and helpful. Also at the end of the baby shower my family helped clean up with the staff which we didn't have to but that's just the type of people we are they was thankful for that! Kenny said thank you to me and my family and said we was so cooperative and he enjoyed us and of course for us to come back when we have more events! And we definitely will! I have NO COMPLAINTS! Just as an update to my last post...My son birthday party was booked at Stars Princess Hall on March 21, 2020. I had to cancel the party due to a state wide shutdown for Corona Virus- COVID-19. The governor banned all social gatherings so I had no choice but to cancel this party. I gave Kenny 2 weeks notice that I would cancel the party due to state wide shutdown for Corona Virus. Since then Kenny has called me repeatedly over the phone harassing me/cursing at me (calling me B****) because I wrote a review on yelp. He left me voice messages cursing at me. He has also threatened to file a law suit against because of my yelp review. He states that my receipt says Stars Palace and his facility is called Stars Princess... therefore he is not obligated to refund my deposit. He giving customers false receipts with wrong business names written on the header. Even though my party was canceled due to Corona Virus- NYC shutdown/ state of emergency.. he still refuses to refund my deposit or reschedule my event. DO NOT RENT THIS HALL. He curses his customers out when they ask for a refund. He gives RECEIPTS with FALSE business names in the header (Stars Palace). He will then tell you he cannot refund your money because your receipt isn't for his business (Stars Princess). He will tell you that you need to talk to Corporate for a refund... when there is NO CORPORATE. PLEASE DO NOT RENT THIS HALL for your own good. Save your money. Read all the negative reviews on Yelp... they are 100 % accurate. I wish I would have read the reviews before going there. I would have saved myself a big headache and lots of misery. I am an Event Planner that was hired to decorate for a 10th birthday party that was last weekend. During the initial meetings, the female staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a final meeting a week before the event to discuss tablecloth colors. I asked several times because I have tablecloths which I wouldve provided. I was assured that they had the colors. Fast forward to the day of the event, sadly the banquet manager whom we planned with was not there. I entered the hall and the cake table has a white tablecloth (NOT THE COLOR WE DISCUSSED). I was "greeted" by the owner. Who told me that I'm lucky I received a white one because they do not provide tablecloth for cake tables. He spoke in a very condescending tone. He kept trying to tell me where I couldnt place my photo booth or cake table. I ended up walking away from him. Thankfully, I always bring extra tablecloth in case of things like this. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I was a vendor at this event space and the way they treated the decorator was horrible. You have no table cloths ITS A CATERING HALL. Asking for help from the staff they're on their phones walking outside and talking to the valet. Okay I got married at this venue. I don't come from a wealthy family and we had some help from family members to help pay for our wedding ceremony and reception. We had a traditional wedding at the venue and then followed by reception. The owner can be reckless and very unprofessional. He does do this his way and his way only. My promotional package came with everything food, appetizers, DJ and we bought our own liquor! The owner then tried to remove our package to accommodate his next venue event! He kept track of all guest to see if we had to pay for additional plates. Don't fall for the packages he will try to short change you last minute. Future Brides This Place Isn't High End But If you can afford something else do it! I had a few altercations with the owner kenny. My wife and I had a horrible experience with this place. We are and event and decor/photography company and we closely tried working with this vendor that our clients had booked. The owner and manager were very rude and unprofessional, they wanted to do things their way, and did not even budge to accomodate our clients and us in any way possible. We were decorating our clients wedding and all the time we were there the GM and owner kept coming around and restricting all aspects of our decor ideas. Since our clients did not want his venue to decorate for them, they chose us, but it cause a ruckus in the whole timeframe of the decor. My wife spoke with the owner to areange the decor timeframe and he was very rude to the point of hanging up the phone on my wife. We asked for 5hours to decor the venue and he wanted to gives us 2 1/2hrs. We needed an 1 1/2hr to breakdown and the owner and GM was rushing us out. He told us that he will give us 1hr and that we needed to give him a deposit of $300. If we did not finish the breakdown in that hour he will keep the deposit. Absurd! We did the breakdown in 1/2 hr but it was a complete mess, we could not fold our linen correctly, pack our vases and crystals properly. They were rushing guess out the venue before the ending time. Everyone was dissapointed with the below poor quality of service and customer service this venue provided. As a company we do not look forward to working with this vendor as a business nor as a service provider. 1 star for this "starz princess" business, should've been no star, but they should look into changing their name along with their attitude torwards customer. The owner Kenny calls me 3 weeks before my party to tell me he forgot he booked a baby shower on the same day as my engagement, he has to cancel on me when he specifically told me the hall was available! I was left with no hall for my engagement, do to the short notice I got. I had my wedding reception here on May 12, 2017. The owner and staff are top notch. The owner, Kenny is the best. He is so friendly and accommodating. The place is well kept and clean. The price is great for the services that are provided. I highly recommend this venue for any event. I'll be back next year for my Mom's 80th birthday celebration God willing. read more

I just had a baby shower this past weekend, Friday October the 7th not only was I disgusted with the service so were my guest... Everyone complained about the suppose helpers or serves whatever they are and I say this because when we booked the place through the owner he specifically told me and my daughter with your package I'll give you two servers.. When it was time to serve they did not want too, actually the older guy tells me we are not servers we are just here to supervise.. You can image what that comment did to me.. Once I told him that's what he was getting paid for and it was part of my package he finally gave in.. Then later on during the night I needed and extra table and I walked over to the older guy (supervisor or server) again he got upset and said no that was not part of your package, at that moment I called the owner (oh I will talk about the owner) he picks up and tells me I gave you all the tables you needed for the night I said yes minus one because I specifically said one of those tables ill need later on during the night since it was to be used for games.. He replies: Oh but those tables are all the way up there and he will have to move to much (now I'm mad) I replied: bullshit!!! because when that guy opened those side doors near my candy table I saw all the tables inside that room.. He replies; ok, let me call him.. when the older guy(supervisor or server) walks over with the table he slams it on the floor pissed off.. At that moment I made a decision he lost the $600 tip that was suppose to be giving to him and his helper.. Oh, they have their own ice machine and the owner kept stressing they provide us with enough ice for the night, well they served all my drinks HOT!! All of them. And we dropped off all the drinks at 5pm so they can be cold for when the party behinds at 8pm.. Now lets talk about the owner he comes out very nice at the beginning when you are deciding your package, promises you a whole lot, the day of everything changes, doesn't give you all he promised.. Suggestion to all those reading this, he walks around with a note book where he jots down all he promises, make sure everything is there take a photo of that page for your own purpose because later on he will change it all and say he never promised anything.. Now we paid $3,400 for a place that only gave us, the place, sitting, covers on chairs, tables and was suppose to provide Ice, that was all everything else we had to do, provide plates because if we wanted to use his dishes it was another $500 we had to do our own decoration (that I was aware of and I was very fine with) but mind you when we were there decorating they made a comment as to why are we decoration so much not to put so much because that means more cleaning for them.. Are you kidding me? later we found out much later at the end of our party that they clean up right after our party to set up for their next event the following day.. Again, so what? you can't expect a party of 150 guest to be spotless clean after the night is over.. Oh, let's talk about Valet parking that was a total nightmare they couldn't keep up with everyone, and finally when the night was over the attendants couldn't remember where they parked the cars, I had guest waiting more than 20 minutes for their car that was suppose to be parked just two blocks away, yes because they find parking in the street.. I guess they failed to jot down on their tickets and exact location for all these cars being parked Overall, it was a horrifying experience. I've done three sweet 16 in different halls, Bella vita, I used them twice and once at Villa Russo's and my god I have nothing bad to say about them, nothing, very professional from the start to end.. All my guest were all extremely happy with their services. Go with what you know best, normally I live by this, but unfortunately, we couldn't use neither because we started looking for a place too late and they were both booked.. we couldn't wait to do the shower next month which was their availability since she is due next month.. I will never ever, ever again use this place nor will it be recommend it to anyone. I will make sure I write my experience on my own social media for all my friends and family that were there can make their own comments with their experience that night and for all those who didn't make it to our event can know the horrifying experience not only with the owner, but his workers.. Just had a Sweet 16 there. The hall was clean, and. we'll prepared. The problem is Kenny, the owner. He gave everyone one including guest, a hard time. He's rude, and Penny pinches you to death. We renegotiated at least 10 times. His memory is shot. He's back and forth on all details. When I hired him, it was with the intention of having a working video system. Negative on that day. I busted my butt putting the video together for nothing. He catered the food and never served drinks, glasses on all the table, never offered the guests water or soft drinks. Employees had attitudes, The bartender told me he ran out of soda which I found odd. I paid for the bartender, and supplied all the alcohol and beer, soda and juice for the cocktails, not for dinner.. He got slick, knowing I had soda etc. This man is strictly for getting what he can. Lastly, my DJ and MC were given a hard time upon arrival, threatening them with more charges to the point that made them want to leave. The DJ even cut his entertainment props because of this guy. Kenny starts off as an easy going fella but look out, it's a set up. This guys almost wants the dob of every person at every table. Wish I'd known this in the beginning. I know a little about 16s, this was my third. Should I mention 2 bottles of booze are missing. They missed our complimentary champagne, cake was thin and undersized for 125. Cocktail hour which was for guests upon arrival ( never happened) was purposely merged onto to the main buffet meal. No coffee was offered or served, cake was cut and served without out Traditional birthday song. No red carpet was missing, etc.The table setting was a mess, he did what he wanted even though we clearly set everything up on paper. I'm glad my daughter is young and never new this happened. Do not use this venue if you want to enjoy your event. The "bouncer" did not let a few of our guests enter the hall. The owner refused to supply us with silverware, plates, etc after they were promised. The owner was VERY difficult to deal with. When the event was over, we were rushed out of the hall in the rain. The owner constantly complained about his costs. The hall is nice considering it lets you bring in your own food which I know is important for many families. I was at a party for my aunt two weekends ago at Starz Princess. What a beautiful place. Loved everything about it. Most importantly we had dinner after 20 pm and the food was hot. I celebrated my wedding reception at this venue. We agreed with the owner that we would rent the hall (he charged us a stunning $7000) without catering or liquor service. We brought our own bartenders, liquor, and food. We even hired two security guards upon referral of the owner. First of all, only one security guard was provided. Secondly, he snuck into the party and began to hide OUR liquor and when our bartenders saw what was happening, they confronted him and he shut down our bar due to a show of power. He ruined the vibe of my wedding reception causing angry guests and my father in law and myself had to go into his office to convince him to open the bar again so that we could continue to serve our liquor by our own bartenders. He even threatened the dj to turn the breaker box off if he played one minute past the time that we were supposed to be there, which would have cause irreparable damage to his music system. Please DO NOT rent this place for anything. The owner himself nearly ruined MY special day and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. If my story doesn't sound bad enough, he called in the guard that WE hired to defend him while we were struggling to have OUR bar reopened. I never left a review on any site but this is a must know for all of you who are looking into this place and the crook who runs it. STAY AWAY and if you do decide to rent it, WATCH YOUR LIQUOR INVENTORY because he will come in and steal it, or he will get his bartenders to limit and steal your liquor from you. AVOID PLEASE!! If you are hoping to have pleasantly memorable and an awesome experience, please do not enter into a contract with this venue. The pricing may be tempting but stay away. He is a fast talker, can not give you a straight answer to questions, promises to do a lot of things (red carpet, white gloves serving services, bar timing, etc) and it NEVER happens and if you request to speak with him hours prior to your event to ask about stuff that wasn't done (things he said would be done) he's not available or not at the location. So, essentially you have to go along with whatever is there. Due to the staffs' reaction and answers, I am guess that this is a constant problem at this location. Apart from cutting our bar time, the bar constantly served the wrong drink. Also, gifts were stolen!! You are given 5 hours.
