I've been here many times for my work holiday party and it's always great! Very clean and beautiful space. They have valet parking and coat check. They decorate it nicely for Christmas. We've had some parties where they serve us seated and other times buffet. The buffet style is my fave as there is way more food offered and an extra bar near the food. Villa Barone Manor is located in the Bronx not far from Manhattan. It was easy to get to by car. I had never heard of this venue until attending a wedding here over the weekend. It is a big hall with multiple rooms. Stunning lobby with gorgeou chandeliers. The Ceremony was located outdoors in a little garden area that was actually across the street from the venu itself. It was very nice. Yes you could hear traffic and honking as there was a highway next to it but you couldn't see into the area at all. As I said, the venue inside was great. The cocktail hour was in a side area off the lobby with tables and chairs and a wonderful spread of different foods. There was a very small bar area too. The bartender that I had was not the nicest. He seemed a bit grumpy. I then also asked another guy about the food and with all my allergies and he didn't seem to care much and said of course you can have it but didn't seem to check with anyone just to make sure. The woman's bathroom had a few stalls and there was a lady in there that would hand you paper towels after washing your hands. Before I even turned the sink on she would stand next to me and wait till I was done. She seemed nice but a little impatient or something. And man it was so hot in the bathroom. There was a small fan going but didn't seem to help much. The ballroom that the reception was in was gorgeous. In this room the way that the Bride and groom made their entrance was awesome. In the center of the ballroom dance floor area they come up from the floor in a glass elevator way. There is one little bar area in this room. The bartender was nice and the other one seemed grumpy and like he didn't want to work or something. When we placed our dinner orders to our waitress, I told her about my food allergies. She said she would check to see if me having the chicken dish would be any problem and she would come back to let me know. She never came back to let me know. I had the chicken but took it to go as I was not hungry after our appetizer which was a bowl of pasta. The pasta was good. This venue has multiple rooms, not sure what the other rooms looked like but there was another party going on while ours was going on. So, this venue is good for big events like weddings but not sure really about the staff here or at least some of them. read more

Very unprofessional coming up to the dj booth and making a causing a scene. The Maitre D was the only very helpful person at this location. I unfortunately forgot his name but if it wasn't for him this whole party would've just been extremely frustrating to work. We are human. Just like everyone else. And we run business that support our families. Is it really too much to ask for that a vendor show up and get treated with some respect. Smh. Villa Barone Manor has restored my faith in catering halls - my friend's wedding last night was seamless from start to finish. Located right off the Throggs Neck Expressway (like literally), Villa Barone is pretty much an institution in the Bronx. The venue is large, the decor is classy, and their offerings are fully modernized while still maintaining that old-school New York wedding style. Like any catering hall, there are a number of levels of service and menus for you to choose from. As we entered we were greeted by the staff and offered champagne, then led to the cocktail hour which was located in one of their smaller party rooms. While there were no strolling servers offering hors d'oeuvres, there were numerous stations lining the perimeter of the room with all different types of food and beautiful carved ice sculptures. Cocktail hours are my favorite part of weddings and they definitely delivered the goods. Dinner was served in their larger party room. The dance floor has a unique feature where a square in the center of it lifts up to reveal a hidden holding "chamber" (for lack of a better word - it's very nice and roomy). I can imagine this is extremely popular for newly married couples and others to make their grand entrance into the room. The decor was lovely, and the food was very tasty - better than your typical catering hall's fare. Another standout is their Viennese hour where they have a number of tasty cakes and pastries to choose from. I had the pleasure of attending a job reunion recently. The grand ballroom was spacious, which served our large group perfectly. There was buffet service on both sides of the room, and two open bars all night with top-shelf liquor were welcomed. The food selection was great, the food was tasty, and the service was on point. I attended a dinner dance here for the NY Minor Board GAA. We arrived early and the bar tender served us despite being 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start time. Our drinks weren't the best and probably not the top shelf liquor that we ordered but that's to be expected at a big catering hall. Our table was close to the bar and the kitchen door, which is just a coincidence but made drinks and horderves super easy. The pass around horderves were beef empanatas, beef BBQ sate, chicken dumplings and pigs in the blanket. The dumpling were tasty and warm, being so close to the kitchen. The PIB were amazing, homemade and not frozen. The pastry was light and flaky and cooked perfectly. I would do PIB and horderves all night log. The main course choices were chicken parm, a salmon dish and prime rib. The portions of salmon and chicken parm were larger than any catering hall I have ever been too. I had the prime rib which was rare and cooked perfectly. The 1" slice of beef was also a larger portion than norm. The beef was delicious and one of the best I have ever had at a wedding or catered event. The guest next to me asked our server for a well done piece and was promptly brought a beautiful end cut. The decor is wonderful, large halls and ceilings but small/narrow areas for cocktail hours. Inside the main room, they have an elevator that brings up the bridal party in the middle of the floor. Super nice touch and flare to any event. The chandeliers are super big and gorgeous. The Food: the food is not that great. Ordered the steak medium, it came back super cooked and no flavor. tried the shrimp was also over cooked to the point to being chewy. Came here for a Thursday night evening event and was blown away by the customer service at this establishment. Thus, my 4-star rating. Building- elegant, classy- complete with chandelier fixtures. The interior is neat and pleasant. Bathroom was clean and big enough for the occupancy load that I didn't feel I was on top of others (which is usually the case in women's bathrooms). Staff- very friendly and were so helpful with our event. Each interaction with a staff member had me impressed with their attention to detail. (E.g., giving us a pitcher of water because we were attending the front desk while the event's guests were being seated for dinner) Food- could be improved upon. Good starting fruit dish. The house salad was lukewarm and soggy, when salad should be cold. I ordered the salmon dinner and the fish was overcooked and dry. The accompanying sauce was probably the dish's saving grace. Dessert of ice cream cake was delicious and a nice end to the sit down dinner. Overall, great establishment for the quality of service received. Other similar banquet halls have been understaffed and could care less that you need an extra small table for your event, for example. For a wedding reception this is definitely one of the larger ones I've been to. Was here few Sundays ago for a wedding reception and had a pretty pleasant experience overall. When we arrived the cocktail hour was already underway. I wish they would partition the hall and appitizer area better as its basically a long hall way and it does make getting around bit difficult especially if you want to visit the tables in the back. The food here was absolutely amazing though, each of the food stations was attended by friendly servers. Like most weddings reception I've been to the best food are the cocktail hours so definitely go for it as the entrees are only meh. The banquet hall itself was quite large indeed and I think they have two actually to host two separate events simultaneously. Like people have mentioned they have a raising stage in the middle of the room to show off the newly wedded couple which was quite an extravagant shock for me at first. If you read it here act surprised when you do see it haha. The room easily fits 10+ tables each side and the dance area is quite large. The servers again are very accommodating and helpful. The bartender was very lively and throughout the night worked very hard to keep everyone happy with their drinks. The food here though like I mentioned before was only medicore, but its to be expected since I think most people would be either dancing or walking around chatting. I did like the steak much more than the salmon entree. Bathrooms have attendants as other have mentioned and they do keep it quite clean in pristine condition. I also like the name cards on the table when you first walk in where they have little bells as holders. Not sure if that was part of the banquet's package or something the wedding party outsourced elsewhere. They also have valet parking right at the entrance, I parked on the streets nearby as I didn't know it was complimentary as well but I'm sure they work on tips. Once weather gets colder though I think its definitely worth it. I didn't have trouble finding parking around the neighborhood though since its a residential spot. The location is quite convenient, literally right off the highway and very close to Throgs Neck Bridge so makes the travel a bit easier for those of us out of town. read more

I had my wedding in August on A Sunday Afternoon at Villa Barone Manor and the staff, venue, and food were EXCEPTIONAL! I didn't have a wedding planning and I was planning NYC wedding from Pittsburgh. . . however, we Anthony and his staff I felt like I didn't need one. From the moment I came to visit, Anthony treated me and my family so well. He took his time to go over every option, answer my questions, and was very flexible with me (even when my Dad showed up an hour late to view the venue). My husband and I got married in the garden. However, there was a back up option in case of unfavorable weather. There are 2 ballrooms, both which had the option of a grand entrance where you come through the floor (my guests loved the surprise entrance). We wound up picking the Celini Ballroom. (I may be misspelling the name). There's a beautiful atrium where I had my cocktail hour. The guest loved the cocktail hour food and Anthony even customized the cocktail hour menu and added curry goat for me. I highly recommend this place for your wedding! read more

We had a large event here recently and the place was great. Plenty of room for our rather large crowd, tons of pre-dinner snackies(including a guy grilling fresh mini paninis!). As a matter of fact, the snacks before dinner were way better than the dinner itself, which was also good. Lots of things being brought around by waiters, 2 tables full of meats, cheeses, breads, salads, etc. , and then of course the panini guy. I wish we would have done a longer cocktail hour and skipped dinner. Bar service was decent. The place was clean and nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I came here to attend a close friend's bridal shower. The room we got was small but nice and appropriate for the amount of people there. What stuck out the most were the chandeliers. We had our wedding here this past weekend! Wow..... wow.... wow...... everything was perfection. The cocktail hour was a hit! The food was incredible. Everything from the lighting to the people who worked the party was everything and more. Max and Anthony..... I have no words for them. Perfect human beings. To everyyyyyone. My job has their annual holiday party here every year. This year it was rescheduled due to snow for last night. Cocktail hour was great. Delish!!!! The best were these heavenly cheese calzones and bbq wings. I heard the wings were outsourced but now made in house. They were sooo freakin good. The weird thing was that the kids serving had no clue what they were serving loool. No seriously my sister asked what a sauce was for something and the waiter literally replied "im not sure, can you taste and tell me?". We actually thought it was hysterical. Because its such a huge company we had a menu preselected. I always love this option bc it saves time. I came here in March for a retirement party. This place is so gorgeous inside out its ridiculous, plenty of photo opportunities. The décor is pristine and the staff is very welcoming. The coat check is located right in front of the entrance which is a plus, just drop the coat and start the party. They have I believe three party rooms there. There is an inside and outside waterfall - basically it's a prime location to hold a wedding if anyone is looking for options... The party had about 125 people and the room was still huge especially with an open buffet laid out off to the side. The food was okay but it's a catering hall so very really you'll find dishes that are to die for there. The service was great, the wait staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs at our table. However the cookies they put out towards the end of the night that I assume was supposed to be the dessert left little to the imagination or taste buds. They were those Italian cookies you see in the Supermarket that you never buy because they're probably stale. Overall the place was nice... Everything was clean down to the bathrooms.... I attended a wedding here on 10/13/13, I have got to say this place is amazing, the food, especially the cocktail hour was great, the service was quick and everyone was very helpful and polite. Now the evening was great, they did have the bathroom attendant that you would tip, (since he took all the paper towels from the dispenser) but I understand, he kept the bathroom clean, had mints and other toiletries ready for you. My problem came at the end. So you get off the highway and are pretty much funneled into the parking lot, where a ver nice gentleman, short with a mustache, greats you, gives you a ticket and then say enjoy your evening. So at the end of the night, I go to the Valet window, where he sees me and meets me outside, very nice and takes my ticket, calls a person over to get my car. He asks us very politly to stand under the heated area and makes some small chit chat with us that is very nice. So our car comes up, the gentlemen once again thanks us and says please drive safely, and walks away. My wife gets in the car on her side, I walk over to my side, and the boy is standing uncomfortable on the inside of the opened door of my car, so I fit myself into the car and as I grab my door, he blocks it with his body and says " we work on tips". So he basically strong armed me to tip him rather than making it my decision. At that moment I decided not to make a scene and end the very beautiful night, I gave him a tip and we were on our way. I do believe a tip is given for a job well done, which I would have gladly given to the person before, but he left to attend to other people leaving, I do believe this is a free country, I always tip, I did not realize my tip was supposed to be at the moment he wanted and not when I wanted to. I'm sure people leave without tipping, well thats what happens,, you don;t make my wife and I uncomfortable and then use that kind of tactic to extract your "pay" luckily I was with my wife and we were celebrating a close friends wedding, or there definitely would have been a scene. read more

My fiance and I went to the Villa Barone Manor for a tour on Thursday and Massimo was so welcoming and kind! He seemed really excited by the elevator that rises from the center of the dance-floor and that excitement was contagious. I appreciated Massimo's honesty about pricing, as other venues seem to withhold fee information like the the maitre d' fee and such. Also, the food options and bridal quarters were very tempting. My fiance says we should book our wedding at Villa Barone Manor simply due to Massimo's excellent customer service.
