Here for a Christmas party. The space is nice enough and would be fine for a smaller wedding. Staff was very attentive, facilities were adequate. Coat check and restroom attendants were especially gracious. Food was...eh. The quality of the food was not fitting with the space. The service was not well timed and we all sat with half eaten salad plates for too long. Also, the lack of table beverage service was annoying. Not sure if it was the package purchased by the organizers of our function or not. I would certainly recommend a higher cost menu option if one is available here. I have to second what a previous poster has stated about the Valet workers. My husband was getting into the car and was going to tip, but apparently he didn't do this fast enough to workers liking. He was very rude and said "We work off of tips". Based on that alone I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I worked in the service industry for two years myself. You don't harass, bully, nor rush customers into giving you a tip. If I had been in my husbands place he would be eating pennies for his tip with the attitude and way he said it. Villa Barone Manor - Review for New Year's Party 2017 My family has attended the Villa Barone New Year's party for the last 12 years and I love it and always look forward to it. Just to start, this year it was $145 per person. They charged my 3 year old daughter $100. She didn't even eat the food. Plus they still don't do credit cards. Only cash, check or money order (shady, shady). But it's open bar so...maybe that offset that a little bit. The place is always beautifully decorated and festive to bring in the New Year. After you visit the coat check, everyone takes pictures by the beautiful Christmas tree and the Nutcrackers. There are people around to help you find your table. Cocktail hour beings at 7pm and it is to die for. They have baked clams, calamari, a deli meat station, a carving section with "Oven Roasted Suckling Pig" (a pig with a apple in his mouth-yummy), this year's pasta station was tortellini alla panna (alfredo sauce) but my preference is the sautéed spaghetti. However, I am nitpicking here. You will not be disappointed because they have everything. After they shut down the cocktail hour and clear the dance floor they begin with a pasta dish (Rigatoni Filetto Di Pomodoro) that is so good. Then the dinner menu is usually filet mignon (too rare for me), with Shrimp Oreganata (please kill me now because its so good) and some kind of potato. This year it was roasted, some years its mashed potatoes...who cares? You won't have room for it by then. Later in the evening when it gets closer to midnight, they start to pass around some noisemakers and party hats to ring in the New Year. Also, everyone gets a glass of champagne to toast at midnight. As for the music, they used to have live bands playing but they stopped that about five years ago in favor of DJs. Maybe they did this to cater to the younger crowd. The DJ was Next Generation and kept the crowd moving. I know my family was dancing all night long. My whole body was jacked up the next day and everything was sore: knees, lower back, feet, etc. Negatives: This place is filled with Italian people. I say that in the sense that Italian people are NOT a negative but I mention this in case you are the kind of person that will be bother by being the only [insert race here] in attendance. Let me be clear that I have never experience any kind of racist behavior here. You will notice that you are a small fish in a big pond. I can count on one hand people who are darker than me attending this annual party. The music is too loud. My ears are ringing long after I get home. I know for a fact that other people have mentioned it to the venue so I don't understand why they don't bring it down a notch. Mini Viennese dessert tray at the end of the night is replaced with a slice of cheesecake and a mini cannoli with one chocolate dipped strawberry. Be prepared if you are a small party to sit at a table with strangers. I know they have a couples table for the event and for the most part everyone is friendly because of the holiday. For a family venue place, they do not have a changing table for babies. They need to get with the program and install one in all of the bathrooms pronto. Conclusion: I highly recommend this place for at least the New Year's party and the delicious and scrumptious food. Bring Zantac. read more

I recently had the pleasure and misfortune of going to Villa Barone Manor for an event on April 22, 2017. Initially, I was really excited to attend this venue as I have been to a number of banquet halls in the Bronx and this would be a first-time visit for me at Villa Barone. First, the facility, coat check, food staff and waiters are amazing. The venue has a very glamourous feel to it that is also comfortable. The food was amazing and the waiters were very accommodating. Now, we get to why I am only giving it two stars. I valet parked my car upon arrival. The event I was attending was not ending until 1:00 AM. I had no intention of staying until 1:00 AM. Consequently, at 11:45 PM, I left plenty of people on the dance floor and proceeded to go outside to retrieve my car. I gave the valet taking tickets my card and he called out the numbers of people's claims checks for cars. I sat for over an hour waiting for my car. It was misting to lightly raining, I had on a formal gown and a pashmina and it was 51 degrees. After about 40 minutes I noted that a new crop of people had come up behind me who were all getting their cars before me. The guy taking tickets told me that I could go across the way to see if my keys were in the hut. I went to the hut where the keys were and attempted to locate my keys with the worker. He could not find my keys. He asked me what kind of car I had and I told him. I then saw the person who had parked my car when I arrived. I asked him where my car was, he responded up the street and walked away. I thought to myself, surely they must be going to get it now, but I was wrong. As I sat on the side of a flower bed waiting for my car, more people from inside came out and were able to retrieve their cars in a matter of minutes. Finally, the person taking tickets asked me what kind of car I had to which I told him. He left to presumably see what the delay was in bringing my car. While I am waiting, I tell another valet that I had been sitting outside for over 40 minutes and that no one had any answers for me about my car. He could not care any less. He told me that they were busy and that I had to wait. I told him I had been waiting for over 40 minutes, he told me to stop yelling at him and that they did not know where my keys were and were looking for them. I ask him if anyone was planning to tell me and he says nothing. As I'm standing outside trying to get some answers about a car that no one but me seems to care about, another valet comes and tells me to calm down, it's not that serious. I'm flabbergasted. Since when is gross negligence--i.e., losing someone's car keys and not being able to bring their car was not serious. Apparently, they felt that it was perfectly okay for me to have to sit in the rain for almost an hour without adequate outerwear with no idea of where my car was or when it would be brought to me. By their own admission, they had misplaced the keys and had I not asked they would have never told me. Finally, the person who was originally taking tickets appeared with my car. Out of 4 employees, he was the only one who cared enough to find a way to solve the riddle of the missing keys and missing car. He also was the only one to apologize and for that, I am very thankful. As to the rest of the valet staff, unfortunately, I cannot trust them to behave in a professional manner or take responsibility for mistakes. They treated me horribly and acted as if my reaction to their not being able to locate my keys after 45 minutes was grossly disproportionate to the situation. I did not end up leaving Villa Barone until 12:45 A.M. and only one person acknowledged my pain. In short, my recommendation is as follows: if you find that you must go to a function at this place, try to find street parking because if they lose your car, you will be waiting forever. read more

The venue is beautiful, their food is delicious, and the DJ plays enough of everything (old school & new) to get everyone on the dance floor. Last but not least, wait staff is professional, friendly, and efficient. It's only 20 minutes from Astoria and easy to get to. We had our wedding here in early July and we loved this venue. The staff was extremely helpful and watched out for us the whole day. They stepped us (and our families) through the whole process and were great about coordinating with our vendors and making everything work well on our big day. They were very supportive, attentive and experienced. We wanted to choose a venue that handled as much as possible instead of having separate space vendors and table vendors and food vendors etc. We're so glad we chose these guys, they took care of so many little details we never would have thought of. Even after the wedding ended, the maitre d' helped us pack all our gifts into our rental car. I went there to inquire when I was planning my wedding. It is a very pretty place inside, but don't get caught up in bells and whistles. The elevators that come up on the dance floor are so played out plus they were having sewer problems so the outside smelled horrific. They also weren't going to guarantee that the problem would be fixed before my wedding. If that wasn't bad enough After we sat down with the owner/banquet manager, we went through the menu and when he learned that my husband was not Italian he told him, "you don't know good food because you are not Italian." I think he was trying to win my mother over because we are Italian. Probably not a good thing to insult the groom and my mother was not amused anyway. To add insult to injury when I asked about having the ceremony there, I would have been charged an obscene amount of money and maybe the owner didn't really want to do it he said "I know how your mother is feeling, she would like to see you get married in church, as I would like to see you get married in church." Really? You just met me you don't know me from a hole in the wall nor do you know my mother or how she feels. Just say you don't want to do it. So, as far as the food at the cocktail hour is good, it's not the best I've ever had and the entrees are nothing to scream over at all. So for future bride/grooms, you have to judge for yourself. I personally wasn't going to bring my business here, especially when a wedding is tens of thousands of dollars. read more

I am a native New Yorker and I'm very familiar with the Bronx. I have passed Villa Barone Manor for years but had never been inside. I always assumed it was a cheap catering hall because of its location and proximity to the highway. I also don't do reviews HOWEVER, I attended a wedding there last night and it was GREAT. First, the actual ceremony was in an outside garden. One would have no idea they're sitting right along the highway. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! Gazebo, large white iron gates. Then the main foyer has a rock waterfall. Brightly lit with flowers and chandeliers. The COCKTAIL HOUR was fabulous and I don't drink. Abundant seafood, whole roasted pig etc. In the reception we had 5 courses even a chilled dessert before the entree, which was tasty. I must say the SERVICE was excellent for the entire evening. They even let guests take food home. I threw an affair earlier this year and I am disappointed that I didn't use Villa Barone Manor. I would definitely recommend and keep them in mind for my next function. read more

Very BEAUTIFUL venue. even with bathroom attendants and all.They even had hair gel if i'm not mistaken lol I came here for 2 seperate events on a span of 4 months.First was my H.S prom (JANE ADDAMS CLASS OF 2013 !! ).Any who the service was overall great and the elevator entrance was beautiful for our prom king and queen.Nextevent was a friend's SWEET SIXTEEN party.The decorations were great. Bar service was very good and the wait staff was great as well.The only snag I wasnt to fond of was the lack of foood selection but very good food nonetheless. PETER was absolutely amazing!!! Amazing is an understatement. We did our wedding in July 2016 and it was like a fairytale. Peter helped coordinate the entire wedding and was there from start to finish. Customer service is exceptional, not good great or okay but exceptional. I truly appreciate service when I see it. The venue is so beautiful with a private garden for pictures. The food was incredible. Every single one of my guests still talks about it 3 months after. They said it was the best wedding of the year. The bar I loved, when they say open bar, they meant it! Bridal suite had its own buffet. Overall 5 stars wasn't enough for rating. I would do another party there anytime!! The grand entrance -rotating elevator -breathtaking! Peter drove us over in a golf cart to the garden, it was so sweet. I got amazing pictures right there instead of traveling elsewhere for a garden. The entire staff in general were so polished and polite. Thanks Peter!!!! No complaints at all! read more

The service is amazing they renovated it and it looks beautiful. The waiters are amazing they cater to your every need, remember to tip them. The waiters are very on tip of things if your napkin falls there the first to pick it up. I wish I did my sweet 16 here because I did it at maestros and the waiters there suck. My daughter had her 1st birthday party here. It was so amazing that we decided to celebrate her sweet 16 party here too. The party was last Friday and I have to say the service at Villa Barone Manor remains outstanding!!!. Peter meet with my daughter and I and really took his time with us and he listened to every word we said to him. I must say this is a place where they would make your dreams come true. My daughter and I couldn't had asked for more. The food was delicious, bathrooms very clean, the staff were all very courteous at all times. They made us feel like we were part of the Villa Barone Manor family. Our family and friends are still talking about how amazing the party was.
