My friend and I stopped by Stars and Strikes for some affordable bowling and ended up having a fun time. The bowling deals can be really good depending on the day and time, and we happened to visit during an off time with one of those specials. We played a few rounds of bowling then spent some time in the arcade, which had a good variety of games. We didn't try the food or drinks, so I can't speak to that. As for the staff, they seemed a little disengaged, but our interactions with them were minimal. Overall, we had a fun time checking it out. read more

We had a party of 6 come in on a Friday at 9pm. No reservation was made because that would cost more and we were okay with wating. Now apparently they dont price by the person they price by the time. So we decided to do an hour and a half. We ended up getting the party room, which was nice, and we were trying to figure out how to go about ordering food or drink. We used the kiosk and eventually our server, Shay I believe her name was, came to help us. She took our orders and went to a room off to the side to process them. Now I dont know if its standard practice to pay for our food before we get it but thats what we had to do. When it came to my order I wanted tenders tossed in a suace and a sierra mist. There were three choices that i was stuck between but i finally picked one. When it was my turn to be rung up and cashed out she let me know that it wasnt given her the option for the first sauce i picked. That was fine and i told her the second option i wanted. She then told me she didnt see that option either and showed me the screen. Now, as i do not work there i dont know what exactly im looking at. But i ask her if there was a tab or option that maybe changed the choice by dry rub or tossed sauces, THEN the sauces i wanted started appearing. I do not know if she was new or not but i decided to give her grace because i was a server for 10 years and i get it. Eventually im cashed out and i leave a tip of 20%+. We go back to start bowling and wait for our food and drink. Then the food came out on a robot thing. I get up to help pass out the food and the server comes a little bit after. I'm looking for my tenders that are supposed to be sauced. There were plain tenders up their but none that were sauced. So i asked where my tenders were and she goes to check because she know i had them sauced. At this point everyone has their alcohol but still dont have my fountain drink and one of the women in our party didnt have her food either. Shay then comes back and hands me the sauce im supposed to have my tenders tossed in. I told her it was supposed to be tossed and she takes the tenders back. We continue to bowl a few frames and my food is brought back correctly and I have to ask about my drink again. Once we are settled in we bowl. At one point a supervisor (i believe) came in to the room to figure out some situation with someone's payment. Then they were gone. She did not check up on us to make sure everything was okay or anything. I had to leave the party and go to the bar to ask for napkins and a fork. We get back to bowling and what seems way shorter than an hour and a half later the monitor is telling us we have 5 minutes left of bowling time. As we are talking we realize one of the women in our party STILL doesnt have her food. So if we are to believe that the clock on our bowling game is correct (which we do not) its been an hour and a half and she never got her food. Which also implies that the server didn't check up on us in that time (she didnt) so the situation could have been remedied faster. So we sit and talk as the screen no longer has our game on it and eventually a food runner (im guessing) brings out the last womans order. We stay long enough for her to get through most of her food and now we are waiting for Shay once again to ask for to go boxes. We see her enter the party room but she is going to help another group, completely bypassing our party. After 30 minutes i then approach the bar again to get the to go boxes myself. At this point I mention to the rest of the party that I felt like we were being ignored. Then the woman whose food tolk forever to come out said something about Shay saying that she was going to go hide. I dont know if she meant from us or from her supervisor but she definitely made good on that because she did not interact with us at all after the initial issues. At that point I wish there was a way to remove the tip that I had put earlier because there was barely any service to be tipped. So I do not recommend going here or at the very least If you have a server named Shay prepare to be disappointed. read more

Came here with work friends on a Thursday and have to say I had a good time. The food was ok. They had sweet tea which was pretty good too. Everything seemed pretty clean and the employees were helpful. We also used arcade cards and unfortunately some of the games weren't working well or the cards were on the fritz (basket ball games were missing balls) and at one point our lane got clogged and someone had to fix it but overall it was a good trip. The thing that really was a lot is pricing. $40+ for one hour of bowling seems to be kind of expensive. I think if you had a group and split the cost it makes more sense otherwise I wouldn't return at that amount. They what looked like a full bar too which is cool. Their equipment for game set up seemed to be pretty updated and worked well. The parking lot is pretty big and easy to get to. I booked a laser tag party that said 4 laser tag games, 2 virtual reality experiences and arcade cards. ($25 bday kid, $20 party goers)..The party only got 2 laser tag games. The laser tag screen didn't work so we couldn't even see scores or who the winning team was. The party host didn't pass out pizza or pour any drinks. He just brought them over. I paid extra for unlimited refills and the kids didn't even drink 2 cups because it took so long for refill pitcher to come. I complained to the manager and she gave me extra $5 game cards for the kids. Then the kids didn't do the virtual reality games. I said something and they gave them a free bumper car ride. The kids had fun but it was a lot of waiting and down time, and the party host wasn't attentive, and everything offered wasn't provided. read more

My daughter had her first college bowling tournament at Stars & Strikes over the weekend so I drove to Raleigh to support her. With it being a tournament, the lanes were reserved for the college teams but there was plenty of room for all of the players in the bowling area. As I walked around, I was impressed with how large the bowling alley was. The bar area was also a nice size with seating all around it and the arcade area was very spacious, they even had an indoor bumper car area. I noticed two party rooms and I loved how they had an eating area called CJ's Tavern for those that wanted to sit and eat, away from the bowling area. I believe I was most impressed by the robotic machine delivering the food to the guests in the additional bowling area. How cool and innovative! Overall, my daughter and her team did well, along with the other teams and if they have another tournament here, I will gladly return. read more

We had a birthday party there, the teen bowling party. It wasn't cheap, about $400, but I felt we got a lot. The kids bowled, did laser tag and then entertained themselves for about an hour in the arcade. They did have someone engaging the kids with quick games as well, like hula hoop, which kept the party atmosphere going. It was clean! I have never been to Adventure Landing and found clean restrooms. My one grip is that they asked for a tip when I paid the balance. I wasn't sure if the hostess was relying on this tip or not, so I did it. It really wasn't cool because I paid a lot of money for a party that included the hostess taking care of everything, which she absolutely did. But her services were part of the package so why was I tipping? Was this a case where she was underpaid so the customer could supplement the business expense like restaurants do with wait staff? Was she paid a fair wage and this just a little extra? Did management pocket the money? I have no clue. I hope she took it and used it to go out with her friends. Otherwise, it was a good experience and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place for bowling, parties and just some family time. read more

I recently visited the new Stars & Strikes location in Concord while celebrating my daughter's birthday with family in Charlotte. It's only right that we visited our neighborhood location also! We enjoyed her birthday party so much that we had to return to end our holiday weekend with a bang. This location is a lot smaller than Concord however it's just as spacious, clean and home to wonderful employees. The staff were pleasant and very well mannered and working hard. My daughter played for less than an hour and scored so many points she was able to take home lots of prizes from the Winner's Circle. The quality of the prizes are great here and the arcade in very similar to Dave & Busters. My daughter was able to hit the jackpot on the Monster ball drop game and as always we enjoyed playing the classic Stinky Feet water spray race game. They offer bowling here and laser tag of course. They also have a dining area called CJ's. We will try dining next visit. Can't wait to come back for some fun. read more

Had our granddaughters birthday party here and the kids all had a blast. Bowling in the VIP was cool, they have different packages and hers included pizza and drinks, 1 1/2 hours of bowling, laser tag and bumper cars. The kids all got tickets for games and everyone seemed to enjoy. The pizza was not good, but the adult beverages at the bar were surprisingly good! This place is really pretty, all of the latest bells and whistles BUT the food is HORRIBLE and extremely over prices. Pizza in which we ordered 2 kinds, uncooked and skimpily on the toppings, hot wings salty and cold, cheese sticks very salty, and the quesadillas was salty and cold. Restaurant to the left, a couple of private party rooms and bar to the right. 24 bowling lanes total and then the arcade and laser tag-bumper cars area. If I were a tween, I'd be pretty happy here! Beer prices are fine along with the arcade game prices. They've got some very cool motorcycle race games, a full size Pop-a-shot along with some other large games of skills. And yes, you earn tickets at the games so you can turn them in and get some crap! Ahh, I mean prizes! Overall a decent spot in a somewhat sketchy plaza. This is a customer service issue for me! We come to this bowling alley as a family a lot. Clean and not crowded this time of day. This has been our usual go to for bowling. Food is mediocre and drinks are ok. We usually catch a deal. Today was different, walked in 11:57 and stood in line. The guy behind the counter rung us up as it turned 12pm (not 12:01pm) Price went from around $20 to $53 bc it was 12pm and he said the morning deal was over. Didn't like that, bc we were there before 12pm. As many times as we've come and spent money on the mediocre food and drinks and tipping well, especially during the covid period! I didn't like the sarcastic look he gave as he tilted his head eyes wide when I said I was here before 12 and it just turned 12 while he was getting our shoes. Don't think we will be back. Usually the service is amazing, every time we go. But today wasn't a pleasant experience. First of all our bowling lane kept messing up and our game kept on resetting, including our time. Then the food we ordered from the screen never texted us about when the drinks were ready (only 3 drinks). My family and I visited there for the first time for to bowl with some friends. I really enjoyed the experience. The facility is large, with lots of activities including laser tag, bumper cars, arcade games and a restaurant/bar. It's similar to Frankies in RTP, though there are some differences as Frankies has some outdoor activities too, but they don't offer bowling. There are some similarities also to Kings Dining and Entertainment in North Hills, Kings has bowling and some games, but most of those are not of the video game type. Also, Kings has better quality food, but you'll pay more for it too. As for bowling pricing, Kings charges per person per hour and Stars and Strikes charges per hour for up to a party of 6 people. Pricing varies a bit at each location, but Stars and Strikes average to about 1/2 the price of Kings per person. Besides bowling, their other onsite activities tend to lean toward more of the teenage and younger demographic. Bowling is a good experience at Stars and Strikes, the process to get a lane is easy and shoe rental is included in the price of the lane (good if you don't have your own bowling shoes). I always give a thumbs up to a place that has my shoe size (16). They have the option to have bumpers on the lane gutters if you want to use them and some very cute orange colored dragon shaped ball launch assists (yes, just imagine it for a moment) for young kids that may have a problem rolling the ball down the lane. The lane area was clean, but the seating area closet to the lanes was a bit tight when people were trying to move past you to take their turn to bowl. Other bowling groups were fun to talk to and everyone there was looking to have a great time (as it should be). If you want to bowl and have some arcade games and other indoor activities, this place is pretty good. I'll definitely return. FYI...we went there on a Sunday evening, not crowded. The service was a bit slow but they compensate by making the drinks strong. The chicken wings were really really good but the quesadilla was terrible. The arcades were all working and clean. What a cool place! Massive arcade surrounded by a restaurant, bar, 2 bowling alleys, laser tag annnnnd bumper cars. They even have some decent options in the prize area instead of just the typical junk. Laser tag was pretty big and so fun! Food options looked super limited and unappealing, so we didn't eat. Drink prices were pretty high, $15 for a shot of Patron, BUT - every single staff member was above and beyond friendly! The amazingly friendly staff was worth the high drink prices! This was my first time bowling here I've been in here before when they first opened to check it out but didn't play anything. We caught the early morning special where is was $1.29 a game and $2.29 a game for vip lanes. We got 3 games in the vip lanes which was a separate room off to the side. I just had a party of 3 and we got two lanes. We were the only ones in there. The front desk worker kept checking in on us periodically which was good and they was practicing safe Covid procedures . After leaving the review, Roxanne the sales rep called and apologized the next day and made the reservations and gave some complimentary service for the inconvenience. There is a new entertainment venue in Raleigh called Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Centers. This company hails from the metro Atlanta area and started as one location in 2005. This will be their 14th location and their first in the state of North Carolina. Although their Grand Opening Party is Saturday January 18, my husband and our 8 year old daughter went in on Friday at 5pm for a preview. Under one roof you can find multiple high quality activities for adults and kids like bowling, arcade games, bumper cars, a virtual reality gameand they even have a 2 story laser tag arena! I started snapping away to capture photos as we Yelpers often do but pics and videos may give you an idea but I really suggest seeing for yourself. There is definitely fun for everyone! And after 8pm, no kids are allowed, so adults can have their fun too. This place is like: a sports bar meets Dave and Busters meets Kings Bowling meets Frankies. There is even a separate dining area called CJs Taveren, although you can eat throughout the place. Stars and Strikes will be a welcome addition to the Triangle as a must do option for date night, family night or even corporate or church team building sessions. They specialize in all sorts of birthday packages and I got antourbof the two event room and private event space that is connected to the VIP Bowling area. Although there are two separate bowling areas, a main area or the secluded VIP lanes, I enjoyed having a dedicated hostess taking care of your food and beverage requests. Speaking of food and beverage, that is where they lose me on 1 star. My kid did not like the cheese pizza and I did not like my cocktail. Overall the food was just ok. I would probably stick with wine or beer next time and not get a mixed drink. The wings were good and you get to choose from over 12 flavors. My husband liked the chicken and waffles. Their large number of brand new state of the art arcade machines meant there was always one available we were interested in. Whether playing a carnival water shooting game or an oversized Pac Man console game we were having a blast. Their reloadable cards also double as game winner ticket tally all in one. No more picking up paper tickets from all over the floor and sticking them in a machine to count. Just hand your one card over at their gift center and a rep will tell you the total and advise what gifts you can choose from. I disagree with one review that said they offered crap. I have seen some places that just offer kids candy and plastic toys. They not only had name brand candy, but name brand toys like Barbie, Generation Dolls, Beenie babies. No kids , no problem, redeem tour tickets for an Instant Pot , telescope or classic board game. My favorite moment was the riding the bumper cars and having such a blast! No old school overhead sparks flying, just smooth FAST spinning cars that handle like little sports cars! Pulsating music and friendly bumping friends really made this a thrill we will return to again and again. Stars and Strikes hits the right balance between adult fun {like the full service sports bar area} and kid fun. The staff could not have been nicer or more professional. Some of the management even joined in our bumper car experience and we all enjoyed being kids again. I'm sorry but this business is very badly run. I ordered fries and nachos and waited over an hour until just getting fed up and canceling the order. I feel bad for the one bartender who actually showed a good deal of competence. He's moving on to a different job in security and I wish him the best of luck. If Dave and Busters and Kings Bowling has a child it would be Stars and Strikes! This place literally hit it out of the park with what they have bottled into one building. Food - the food was delicious and priced just right! The nachos were big enough for 4 ppl to divide. BBQ chicken tenders were hot and tasty 4.5/5 on the food. Food came out in a fair amount of time. The drinks were really good and priced well. Atmosphere - Parking Lot is well lit, which is a plus for this area. Plenty of parking. Security is at the location at all times, I'm guessing because of the location and how late they are open. Staff are all friendly and helpful. If you sit in the bar, ask for Renee. She's awesome. Like Dave and Busters, there is an arcade on one side which will feature a blend of children and adult game players. I was happy to see that the bar area clearly looked as if it was for adults only despite being next to the arcade. The bar area featured plenty of tvs and allowed for a clear view of the bowling lanes. The bowling area was lively and even had a Dj and trivia for people who were not bowling. It was like a bowling party. Later tax was spacious and fun. I preferred the lighting in this place over Frankies. I think they should fix the scoring system to list the winners in chronological order. The scoreboard was not in order. 4.5/5 Overall experience 6.0/5 - You will not go wrong in making this place a weekly stop for adult date nights. Or even a outing in the daytime with the family or co-workers, church group etc. I like this place because you get the best of what Frankies, Kings, and Dave and Busters has to offer without the ridiculous price. Cannot give a poor enough review. My fiancé went here for her bachelorette party. People drove in from Virginia. We got the unlimited laser tag for the evening. After one game we went to the bar and were ordering drinks. The security officer asked us to get closer to the bar as they have a "food delivery robot" that needs space. So we did. In doing so one of the staff thought we touched a pizza that was sitting at the bar. This didn't happen at all. But I understand a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, this resulted in us being completely kicked out of the venue. Spent $500+ to book it and had people travel in from out of state. Ruined a night that was supposed to be really special. Can't ever get that back. Again, I get it if there was a misunderstanding, no idea how something so trivial resulted in being kicked out. I have to give a positive review for Kanye from the arcade staff, he was the only staff member that showed us any respect or true customer service. read more

Sooooo this spot! I have mixed feelings! Let's start with the dining experience! It's set up so you can order from the restaurant, an area by the bar or from the bowling sections. However, all the food comes from the restaurant so your servers are not readily available outside of the restaurant. We ordered from the bar area. Although the waitress was kind, the customer service was sub par because she would only appear every 10-15 minutes and employees seemed to be scrambling. We were the only people ordering food in the bar section yet our food took over 50 minutes to come. And I'm not talking about gourmet food....I'm talking about burgers and fries! When it finally arrived...several orders were wrong. I had to send mine back twice! My sister also sent back her food because the chicken was rubbery! During this, we witnessed part of the ceiling fall! Yikes! The entire time this food debacle is going on, we are waiting for a bowling lane. We waited over an hour! I would be giving them 2 stars but the way the manager handled the long wait times was professional and made us feel appreciated as customers. Once we actually started to bowl, things started to look up. The tablets that you use to input player names were new and intuitive. They also have some games on them. I will say that the way they have the seating set up is not conducive to efficient game play because the space between the chairs and the table is really narrow and you often have to step over people to get back to your seat. They have some pretty good at arcade games. I personally really liked the stacking game. Laser tag was awesome! I'd suggest playing with people in your age range to have the most fun. I went on a Sunday and they do have some awesome specials such as $2.99 laser tag. I think they have specials throughout the week so I would check them out on their website...they really make it worth it! I'd say give it a chance, but also be aware of some of their short comings! Got the bartender's choice and he gave me 3 shots and a candy apple drink. The red shot was my favorite (not sure what it was) and the candy apple was pretty good also. Anthony himself was very entertaining, friendly, and made drinks based on what we said we liked. The one thing about this place that could be improved is the variety of arcade games. Food disaster! When tried to order food for our family, hamburgers and fries, and they didn't have them (really?!). Then we ordered chicken sandwiches, which they also didn't have. Finally we ordered cheese pizza, a philly cheese steak sandwich and a buffaloe chicken wrap. Everything finally arrived except for the chicken wrap, which didn't arrive until everyone else was through. When the wrap and fries came it had hairs on it, gross! They remade the food for us, but only gave us a 25% discount instead of giving it to us for free! The manager was rude about the situation and his idea of service recovery is below that of Chuck e Cheese! Never going back there and ordering food.
