Came on Sunday at around 11:30am . The place is very open and spacious with bowling , ax throwing , arcade , food etc . Played the arcade games for a while and yes more expensive than Chuck E. Cheese haha but my kids enjoyed getting some plushies out from the claw machines and playing the virtual game . We reserved 1 lane for bowling the tables there were a bit too close together but that's probably expected since it's a small area with high stools and we have 3 small children so we finished bowling then went to the main area to get a table with regular seating to eat . The staff was really attentive and friendly took our order and the food was out pretty quickly. We ordered wings , fries and mac and cheese all very good . All in all we had a great time . read more

My first time at Strike & Barrel did not disappoint. My group reserved three lanes for axe throwing. I'm new to the sport but picked it up quickly after multiple rounds of practice throws. To partake in axe throwing, you are first briefed by a staff member on safety and technique. Once that's done, you are ready to pick up your axe and try your hand at hitting the target board. The staff member who oversaw our group is a great coach. There is a full bar available with menus at each table. Our group ordered multiple pizzas. As one who is picky with pizza, I can say that the pizza here is "good." I wasn't too excited about it, though I'm glad to have a slice. The weekday crowd was slim. I imagine weekends are busier. Overall, I had a pleasant time and would enjoy another round of axe throwing. Or I can sit in the lounge seats at the front, sit at the bar, or come when there's a major sports event on TV. read more

Strike & Barrel was a fun time. Our group stopped in to play duckpin bowling for an hour. We also played arcade games afterwards. In addition to these games they have bowling, pool tables, sports simulators and axe throwing. I thought that the drink selection was good, I ordered a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. Nice spot with a lot of activities for everyone. The bar staff struggles a little and I'm not sure how well they would do if things got packed. They spend a lot of time talking to each other. The wait staff though does a really good job handling the busy lanes. You can do axe throwing, virtual golf range, a virtual shooting game, bowling, arcade and a mini bowling thing that I don't know what it's called lol. Oh you can also play pool. Overall it was a good time and things was fairly priced I feel. I didn't eat but people in the party I was with, seemed to really like the nachos. I have enjoyed many visits to this establishment with family and friends. The concept is fun, the atmosphere is great, and it's always been one of our favorite places to stop after our book club meetings. Unfortunately, after several consecutive negative experiences with the same server, I feel compelled to leave this review. My cousin and I regularly attend a local book club and often visit afterward for a treat and a night out. During multiple recent visits, we were consistently ignored, had difficulty getting service, and felt unwelcome. We continued to tip despite the poor service and initially tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but after experiencing the same treatment repeatedly, we finally decided to politely ask whether there was an issue. The server, Lexi, immediately became defensive and claimed we were receiving poor service because we "don't tip." This accusation was completely false. We have receipts showing that we have tipped on our visits, and my cousin even pointed out that she and her husband had recently celebrated their anniversary there and left a 30% tip. In response, Lexi made a comment questioning why my cousin was there with another woman if she has a husband, implying that she was being unfaithful. Regardless of anyone's relationship status, sexuality, or personal life, that kind of assumption is inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely unrelated to providing customer service. The comment left us feeling judged and deeply uncomfortable. I do want to acknowledge that the manager handled the situation very well once it was brought to their attention. They listened to our concerns, treated us respectfully, and generously covered our tabs. I genuinely appreciate how professionally the manager responded. However, the experience itself was unacceptable. No guest should be treated differently based on assumptions about their personal life, nor should they be repeatedly ignored and then blamed for it. Because of these repeated experiences and Lexi's behavior, I will not be returning if she remains employed there. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this establishment deserves better representation from its staff. read more

We did a group event at the end of season for my daughters soccer team. So 15 twelve/thirteen year olds having a ball with pizza and tenders. They have a nice package deal that you can add things to we went with the option that got 1.5 hours of bowling, some game cards, and pizza/chicken tenders/fries. Kids had a great time. Place is huge and had multiple events there but they didn't run over each other. Was a Saturday night and their DJ was playing hits that the girls loved as well. Staff was solid and attentive with all the action going on kept our drink pitchers full and had water nearby for those that didn't want the lemonade/soda. This was my first time here. I went to meet a group of friends who also had not been here before. What a blast we had! After spending a few hours enjoying adult refreshments and fried potato chips, we decided to do some axe throwing. Plus, continue with the beverage consumption. We had such a fun time! There are two young men there who will show you how to throw, get you to sign waivers, etc. Half of us had done this before, half hadn't. It only took a few minutes to get the hang of it. There are tables by the axe throwing lanes. When you use a lane, you get the table by it. The employees are all awesome. Everyone was always wearing a smile, was friendly, and very helpful. There are also video games, bowling, and pool, but we didn't do any of those. Overall, we were there a good 5+ hours and had fun every minute! 5 solid stars. read more

This visit was a lot better in terms of bowling/crowds. Surprisingly, we visited 20 minutes after opening on New Years Day and were immediately put onto a lane. There were hardly any guests there which was awesome for a carefree time of bowling. We ordered a few drinks from the bar and let me just say that Ryan is an excellent bartender! He's so personable and quick. He made a White Russian for me (a New Years tradition) and it was amazing! Definitely can't wait to come back again for more fun. read more

Came here to bowl and was a little displeased with the experience. First, when me and my partner were assigned to a table, it was littered with noticeably old food and drinks. No one bothered cleaning up the mess from the previous guests. Second, the lanes are so narrow and close together. There was a big family next to us and we were so close to them that they ended up using our table without even asking us. I'm not sure if they thought it was theirs because they were there before us, but it was very uncomfortable and we just ended up sitting in the wobbly stools on our station. This place seems to be a jack of all trades but master of none. Won't be coming back. read more

We had so much fun yesterday! This is a small little bowling alley right next to the fire station and a handful of restaurants. We were walking around downtown wake forest when we decided to stop in here and go bowling. First things first, this is the most affordable bowling alley in the area. We did an hour of bowling at three pairs of shoes for less then $50. We got a pizza for about $20. We went up to our lane where there was a huge party that had been taking up our seating. When they brought us our food we told them the people were taking our seats and they made sure they moved. All the staff was super friendly. They made sure our food was right. They came and asked us how our kids were liking it. It just had that small town feel that really made you feel like family. We absolutely will be going back here in the future. We had so much fun and felt so welcome. They said they were temporarily closing for a renovation so I look forward to seeing this place when it reopens! read more

Uh. Do not go here. We took our granddaughter to do this fun activity. We were told it was a 20 minute wait for a lane and we could wait and eat at one of the tables. So we go there. And we wait. And we wait. And we wait. I wish I could say it got better but it didn't. We found a server who said she couldn't help us because it was the end of her shift. The bartender said she would send a server over. The manager said that the server was running late but we could order at the bar with the bartender who told us we had to wait for a server. Uh. It's been my experience that when a "family fun" place opens (where both kids and adults can hang) it misses the mark in some way. My husband and I are a childless family, but we love our friends and family that have little ones! We ended up at Strike and Barrel with a rather large group, mixed ages, with and without children, and the children that did come were various ages. Every one of us had a good time! The location is perfect for this type of business, there's plenty of parking. This part of Wake Forest is growing fast and I was thinking how fun it could be to have this be walkable if you live nearby. Once inside, the space is nice and spread out, yet somehow still feels like a small town experience. There's bowling of course, skee ball, pin ball, claw game (my personal favorite way to happily waste money), air hockey and various other games. You can purchase a reloadable card and just start having fun! Bowling and a couple other games are priced by group and you can rent shoes to play traditional bowling or "lawn bowling" without renting shoes. I noticed how the staff moves around; I'm not sure if it's the owners that double up like cleaning ninjas - grabbing empty glasses and plates without hardly interrupting the fun having. The menu and bar are on level with a regular bar fare and then some. I need to go back and actually try something as this night I was distracted by awesome kiddos hungry for a claw toy (I was totally into in so it's all good). We went for my son's birthday and overall we had a great time. The axe throwing was the best part we had the best time as this was our first time throwing axes. We went the first weekend in Jan and they were extremely busy. 2-3 hour wait for bowling, which we never got to do. We did do the simulator which was cool, but it would have been better if there was a staff member to help us get set up. Ordering food was challenging I had to find a waitress because they were so busy, but once we ordered the food came up quickly. We will be back as we love to support local businesses. read more

We typically love this place and would normally give 5 stars, however, tonight was not great. I ordered a burger without the special jelly and it came with all of the toppings. They took it back to "remake" but all they did was scrape it off and add more cheese. You could still taste the jelly on it. When I said something to the waitress she said oh sorry I didn't know. We were still charged the $17 and nothing was done about it. Thankfully I didn't have an allergy as that could have been a really bad situation. What I don't like is the fact that there is absolutely no direction by the staff. Brooks Street Bowl is more of a casual, small town, come as you are and don't take life so serious type of place. They have a full bar and serve food as well. We brought a 4 year old for a first time bowling experience. The after school special is $3 per game and free shoes. They have only 8 lanes, ramps for the kiddies and slow as you go pin setting. Is it accurate scoring? Nope, so if that's a concern, take yourself to a serious type of alley. But if you're here for a fun time bowling with friends and family, this is your place. We had a blast!! We took our company to Strike & Barrel for a company outing last week and it was such a great time. Bobby, Karen, & Anne Marie were the initial staff members that helped us get acquainted for our event and they were AWESOME, I can't say enough great things about them! They were so welcoming and very helpful with our group of 13 people. We were there for 4 hours and the time flew by. The space looks awesome now that the renovations are complete and the food was great too! Highly recommend this place for any small to large party of people. This review is for bowlers who are at all serious about bowling. These are not the lanes for you.... The ball receiver is up to the lanes making it impossible to kick out your leg while throwing. Also, they rarely oil the lanes apparently. I asked and they had not oiled the lane in FIVE DAYS. At regular alleys, I've been apologized to for lanes not being oiled that morning.... 5 days is absurd. For reference, I average usually around 200 and my score my last game was 37 because I could not keep the ball from guttering. If you spin at all, this is not the place... even if a lane is dry, you can just move to the left to compensate, but here the ball returns don't allow you to move over because they are placed SO far forward you run right into them.... read more
