Had a great time bowling here at the Buford location. Went with the family and the food and arcade was very enjoyable. They have kids bowl free at certain times along with $1.99 bowling/shoe rental at 9p. We got a lane and played for 3 hours. Parking was easy with a lot of open spaces. They have a full bar and food menu. They served us right at the lane and also there is a kiosk you can order from. Had a pretty full arcade there as well with some of the classic games like skeeball. The only downfall was making reservations online, it was not as easy to get the time we wanted. It did fill up quickly as well but was worth the time spent. Will be going to the other location in Dacula to try the laser tag next time. Definitely had a good time! read more

My grandson and I went bowling yesterday at the Dacula/Lawrenceville location. When I checked my credit card this morning the charges for the 1 hour of bowling for (2) with shoes was WAY more than I was told at the register. I have called 3 times and left a message to ask why the overcharges? This bowling alley is run like a power trip instead of a business. Paying customers should not be told what ball they are "allowed" to use -- especially when we were using standard 12-pound balls. Instead of focusing on customer experience, the staff seemed more interested in nitpicking and looking for reasons to kick us out. The service was flat-out disrespectful. Our lane was shut down immediately after one friend bowled "too hard," yet another person in our group did the exact same thing moments before with no issue. The double standards and inconsistency show a complete lack of professionalism and fair treatment. If the management can't provide equal treatment and basic respect to all customers, this place shouldn't even be open. Save your money and go to a bowling alley that actually values its guests instead of targeting and embarrassing them. I wish I could give it zero stars read more

While being there with a group of friends we got our lane turned off with over 30 minutes left. Then the lady who turned it off walked away. First we were told we threw up gestures then another guy said we threw a ball too hard or that we threw it too high. After coming here several times we get treated like this. They will reserve lanes for you, get food out quickly and they have a party host to do all of the running around (like getting bowling shoes for the kids). These people don't care at all about customer service. You can tell when you arrive and walk up to the counter. Heavy set guy ignored me standing in front of him. Literally 3-4 minutes he stared at the POS screen. Didn't speak one word like "I'll be right with you".... That's like multitasking and his brain I guess couldn't handle saying anything. Another young guy then walks out and sees me just standing there and low and behold the heavy guy says something.... I say "something" because you talks at a very low level. I ask for a lane (it was 11pm). He looked at me funny and asks me how many. I said just me, and I'm here for the $16.99 per person unlimited bowling till close you advertise on your website. He points at a sheet on the counter that said $48.99 per hour!!! I said no, I'd like the advertised price on your website. The younger guy speaks up telling me they don't honor that price!!! Told me he thinks Dacula stars and strikes honors that price... I pointed out at half the lanes are open, why wouldn't you honor the price??? I could have easily paid their over priced rate, I just started bowling again and thought this place is decent. I spent over $500 in their pro shop this last 3 weeks and over $200 in bowling. I found out their pro shop is around 25% OVER RETAIL! Not to mention the guy who sold me my hammer RAW, bag and shoes treated my friend rudely. I'm sorry, no one in this business cares if you come here. I didn't feel welcomed at all tonight. I saw reviews where they didn't honor reservations and refused to refund. I wouldn't doubt the reviews based on the horrid customer service I got tonight. Like them, I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

We tried to come in at 7:45 on a Monday night and were told there would be an hour wait for a lane. Since my husband had to get up super early the next morning we didn't stay. The following Wednesday we tried again. This time I called ahead and asked about reserving a lane. I was told they would be happy to do that for a $10 fee. You did not get your $10 back nor did it go toward your bowling. That didn't work for me so we decided to take our chances. When we showed up we were able to get a lane immediately. Just know they have leagues going on and that can make it harder to get a lane. We had a Groupon that included two hours of bowling, shoes, and popcorn. The shoes were in good condition. They didn't have any popcorn but we were told we could have chips and salsa instead. I strongly recommend getting a Groupon but you have to have it for 24 hours before you can use it. They also have nightly specials at the bowling alley but I believe using a Groupon is a better deal. We had fun bowling. There were six of us but only seating for four. We had a hard time finding balls that worked for us but I believe part of the issue there is that people don't return their balls when they are finished bowling. As I was returning our balls, an employee thanked me for doing so. We had a really fun time. If you haven't bowled in a while, or are just plain bad at it, you can ask them to put gutter guards up. It definitely helps. Get out there and make some memories. read more

Brought my visiting in laws here mid day/mid week and had a great time. Lanes are properly maintained and sitting areas is as well. Only problem was the wait staff never came to check on us to see if we wanted to order anything. Not a huge issue cause we could walk to the counter to do it ourself, it was just the check in lady made a point to say who our waitress would be and she would come see to us. Terrible customer service and misleading reservation policy. I have made a reservation and made a payment on their website for 6:00 - 7:00 pm. When we get there at 5:50 pm and said informed about our reservation we were told that we have to wait for an hour. When we ask that there are more than 10 lanes closed and we don't want to wait an hour. That was the reason we made a reservation in the first place. The answer was there was a leak and those were closed. Then I said I want to cancel and want a refund we learned that they have no refund policy. They can only give us a free game ticket to be used for a later visit. First of all, I was there on time like it was reserved. Secondly, there are many lanes available but all are closed for a supposed water leak. Thirdly, if you are not giving us the lane why do you make reservations for a specific time frame like in our example 6:00 to 7:00 pm? We learned the hard way. I suggest DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS and MAKE PAYMENTS unless you are okay with one hour's waiting and NO REFUNDS. I lost $66.93 but Start and Strikes lost a good customer forever. The customer service said their management team would like to contact me directly to further discuss the issues I brought up and asked for my contact information to forward to their Buford team. It has been like 4 days and no one cares to call me. It proves that they can't care less and they better change their Customer Care department to Customer NooneCares Department. I will never even drive near any of their facilities. read more

Beware of lane 20. Lanes 19 and 20 appear to have old displays - they don't have any of the fun graphics that all the other lanes have. And for 20, there was a defect with the ball return, so it took one of our teams a really long time to get through their games. After several requests for help, a manager finally came by to offer some solutions. I just wish that they had addressed the problem earlier. We also checked out the arcade. The air hockey machine is very weak, and then the clown game ate our points. read more

Goodbye Stars & Strips!!! I've had it with these folks. Here we go. They only rent lanes by the hour now. They charge over $25 dollars an hour for one person and each has to pay. I don't know the exact amount but it was $52 dollars for one hour for two people. We were able to play three games during that time but it still comes out to almost $9 dollars a game. WAY TO MUCH!!! Oh, it gets even worse. In the third frame of our second game the lights went out and then the ally lit up with flashing and cascading lights going on an off constantly. It was still dark on the lanes, so dark you couldn't make out the arrows on the lane. Tell me this. How can you bowl a game without the use of the arrows? I know the answer, you can't! Both sides of this huge establishment are now dark. I asked what was going on and was told that a birthday party had arrived and the event just takes over the entire place. I was shocked and dumfounded as to the logic of this. I couldn't figure it out. I would hate to think how much that cost. We were never told this upfront. We would have been happy to have moved down to the end of the lanes but NO! So, say goodbye to Stars and Strikes for this family. read more

It's been quite a few years since I've been here. I think the last time I was here it was still Oasis. To my surprise, my brother in law's gf planned for an afternoon of bowling here for his birthday. We reserved 2 lanes on a Sunday at 3:30. I assumed it would be busier than it was but surprisingly it was pretty dead. We had about 14 people + 2 kids. We ended up with 3 lanes. I mean I don't know what makes for a good or bad bowling experience but everything seemed fine. The balls rolled, the pins fell down, the lanes worked. I would have to say it was pretty good. Our server Kayla was attentive and quick. We went through about 5 pitchers of beer and ordered 3 or 4 appetizers off of the menu. The loaded fries were pretty amazing. Welcome to Corporate America, where time is money and money is everything! This place use to be fun and affordable, and now you are on the clock! So you use to be able to play per game, now you're paying for time on the lane plus avg $15 per person on the lane. Nothong worst then getting to the 9th frame and it cutting off because your time is up. Once past a certain time you race to try and finish the game, completely removing all the fun! I went with my friends and we all had a very unpleasant time. I plan on never coming here again. I'd rather drive an hour to a nicer place then go back here and experience what we did. The staff was very rude. When we asked them for something, they'd stare us down, point fingers at us and laugh. They were constantly looking at our lanes, turning it off, and turning it back on. No advertisement or warning was on their website. They told us that it's only in this location. We ended up leaving the place. The employees were not friendly and didn't really care. But the bowling and drinks made up for that. The combination of drinks made up for the food menu. The staff was very overworked. We love the Kids Bowl Free program they have during the summer! It has allowed us to introduce our kids to bowling, and gets them out of the house and away from devices for a while each day. The staff at the Buford location is always friendly and helpful. If there is a problem with the lane that is not a quick fix, the staff will quickly move you to an open lane to prevent a delay in your game play. The facility is clean, and the arcade games all are in working order. My daughter has had so much fun learning how to bowl, and we have enjoyed spending quality family time with our kids doing something they all think is fun! read more

Stars and Stripes was nice because of the price. For 7 people the man was able to give us unlimited bowling, shoes, and two bowling lanes for 18 dollars a person. However, the waiting staff seemed understaffed, making it hard to order food and drinks. We were given two lanes and one lane was having technical difficulties so we had to change lanes. I would look into other bowling allies in the area the next time I was interested in bowling with a group. read more

If you don't mind some weird lady running up behind you with a balloon tied to her ass and screaming on the microphone to let her know about the orange pin at about 110 decibels, then you are welcome here for sure. However, If your bowling experience requires lanes that don't malfunction every frame, or keep your bowling ball for several frames, then this ally might not be for you. If you're paying attention to bowling, this place might be too dysfunctional, malfunctioned, and drunken to try to accurately focus on a solid game. Thank God I did not mess up and try to entertain guests from out of town here. I would have been mortified. This establishment will get no more of my business. I was very uncertain walking in based on not only the number of sketchy reviews but also the fact that the management hasn't responded to any of them. However, I had an overall good experience here. Granted- it was just a couple of bowling games with kids and realistic expectations that bowling alleys are rarely what I would consider stellar. The front desk staff was helpful; when our lane stopped functioning properly they happily swapped us to another available one. Also for anyone with young children- the bathrooms were clean! This has turned into possibly one of the worst bowling experiences ever! When we got here, there were tons of lanes open, but we were told that they were for a league. They advised us that they had 4 available lanes for the special they had going on the Sunday night, and there would be a 2 1/2 hour wait, because they had leagues that were playing! If you have a special going on, why would you have only 4 lanes available for it?! Then we tried to order something from the concession stand. We were told that we needed to sit at a booth and order from a server, who was not there. Reading other posts on here, I see the word "rude" used very often. That is an understatement! This is the best bowling alley in our area. We live about 15 miles away and have enjoyed ourselves the few times that we have visited. The staff were very nice and the facilities were clean. The bathrooms were very clean also. We took advantage of the unlimited bowling before 5 pm deal they have which includes shoe rental for $12.99. If you are looking for a place to bowl in the Buford area I recommend that you give Stars and Strikes a try. read more

This place needs an overhaul! Wasted more money here waiting for the machines to work than we did actually bowling. Lanes that were not being used, were apparently waiting to be cleaned, so they couldn't move you to another lane. This was not just us either. Over all its a great bowling alley in the area. I would suggest to buy unlimited bowling deal because personally my family loves to compete and generally we go for one more game after another. Great bartenders and very quick service. Do admit for a place like this the food is a little pricey. We came on 1.2.17 in the evening. Ok so I was in bowling area, and i ordered food and it took them an hour to bring out my food. So last time I went to their bar and got food in five minutes. Must be pricey because I will see Groupon deals for this place and the deals are expensive! Very loud in there but having been to bowling alley in like 20 years so I guess the environment changes. Had my son's 10th birthday party here this past weekend and everything was fantastic! I made a easy reservation online! Connie, our party coordinator, followed up prior to the party to make sure all the details were in place! Adam, our party host, did EVERYTHING! All this mom had to do was invite his friends and they did all the rest!! Bowling, shoes, set up the lanes, put in our food order, served the children their pizza and drinks, kept everything on a manageable time schedule to do all of the activities, led the kids to sing "Happy Birthday", cut and served the cookie cake we brought in.....I'm talking everything!!
