So i've been coming here for years! Cindy is great at what she does. I stopped by yesterday for a gel mani since I ended up taking my acrylics off. Since they are now under new management, i walked in to many new faces (don't worry, Cindy is still there). The lady that did my gel mani was really sweet BUT honestly did an awful job. She did it in MAYBE 20 minutes. She didn't even really try to trim my cuticles and BARELY filed my nails to shape them. Anywho, let's just say it looks like I got my nails painted by a kid. They're bumpy, not painted evenly, and are super crooked. Probably wont go back unless it's to see Cindy for waxing. (She's the only reason I gave 2 stars lol) read more

Recently found this place (can't believe I'd never tried it, even though it is right next to the Indian grocery store I've been going to my entire life!) and I love it! Everyone working here is nice and friendly, and each of the times I've been here the person helping me has done a thorough, thoughtful job. Even though I've just gone for a simple spa manicure+pedicure (after 27 years of my life, I've finally decided I should do such things), I feel like it is a very relaxing experience, and they take extra care to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying it. I'm sad that I just found this great place and I'll be moving away soon and will have to find another =( But whenever I'm back here in T-town, this will be my nail place, and I would recommend it to everyone! read more

OMG amazing work. I came here because my co-worker told me about. Mind you she lives far from this location and knew about. I check it out for the first time 2 months ago and was blown away. I usually don't get nails because they start falling off the next week and end up taking them all off myself. Well, my first set lasted 3 weeks could have gone to 4 but I wanted to change the color. Came and did my refill 2 weeks ago and my nails still look amazing. The new owner is super friendly and takes pride in her work. I definitely recommend. read more

The employees were nice to see me as a walk in as it was a little crowded and my nail shop around the corner was so understaffed that day. However, while I don't expect an exact replica from the picture I showed from Pinterest, something remotely similar would've been nice. The design was cute, just wasn't what I wanted. Also, I did not like how I was rushed while my nails were drying which ultimately led to them being damaged when I got in the car. Yes, it was crowded and they were soon going to close. This review has been a long time coming. I started working in the area only to realize I needed a new person to do my eyebrows. I prefer thicker eyebrows, but still with a nice defined shape, and it's not often you can find someone who can consistently do a great job. Enter Cindy - everytime I've come by she has done an amazing job with my brows. I'm a person who, ahem, doesn't quite drop by every 4 -6 weeks to keep my brows maintained but, when I do stop by, she always finds and grooms my brows back into shape. Unfortunately, I just completed a transfer down south to OC so this will be last time I go :( It's been a 6 year streak of great brows - thank you Cindy. Try to bring cash if possible and they can accommodate walk-ins but it's normally better to do an appointment. read more

I came here a while ago because of fellow Yelpers =) The place did a good job but had to wait about 20 minutes to get in a chair. It was after work one night so i didnt think i would have to make an appointment. The prices are fair for the work they do. Ok I've been to many places, and o was pretty much sure being cut up and not listened to was the norm. That is until I found this little gem on yelp! I read all the reviews and decided to try them....sooooo glad I did! The pedicure was amazing! I'm talking sea salt scrub and a good foot massage to end! The manicure came out perfect! It was $28 and I was completley satisfied. They soooo knew what they were doing. Some places I go just slap on that top coat, these ladies take their time and are careful. I was looking to find a new nail salon after going to the same one for several years and thought I'd give this place a chance. I definitely feel like my experience was karma for cheating on my original nail tech. First the nail tech glued on my acrylic crooked and then argued with me when I said it was crooked, then she cut up my finger while buffing it out. As she painted my nails she didn't cover some of them all the way on the sides and then rubbed around the paint on one nail to spread the paint which caused it to create a lumpy texture. I got to the car once they were dry and almost bent the entire nail off! These are super thin nails and I'm gonna end up paying double for the nails just to get them removed. Great. Got my nails done by Christine... Acrylic nails, coffin shape, extra long with gel and glitter before I went to Vegas with my boyfriend. Nails lasted for 3 full weeks before I popped one. I knew I should have stopped in for a full! Lol. Anyways, work she did was fast and beautiful. Went here today on Tuesday for the 1st time 10/25/17. I only chose to come here because I was on lunch and it was the closest shop. There were 5 ladies who worked there 3 of them who were getting pedicures by their co workers. No customers were in the shop. When I walked up they already clocking me at the door with an eerie judgemental vibe. I asked for a simple procedure, to repair a broken nail. She told me they were "a little busy" and said nothing else. Really?! I looked at the sign again and I re read the walk ins welcome sign so I know it wasn't by appt. Only.. I would never come here again nor recommend here. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. That's what they deserve. I would write what I really feel they they are, but I'm going to try to be the better person, and think that there is still some good in the world. read more

I was referred to Starlight Nails by an associate who goes to Christine for her nails. Her nails always look very nice. This morning I decided to contact Starlight to make an appointment with Christine, she let me know that she was available & we set a time for me to come. I arrived for my appointment about 5 minutes early and upon arrival I find out Christine isn't there. The other nail techs who are in the shop call her and she lets me know she had to pick up her mom from the airport and she was sorry. Totally disregarding the fact that we set a time, I live out of the area which resulted in a wasted trip, my nails still weren't done for a particular event etc. I was extremely dissatisfied with the situation as a whole. Ok, gurls, this is my nail salon!!!! I have been going here since I moved to this area. I was a manicurist myself for 7 years, so I know quality. I love this place, service is good, good prices, you can make an appointment or walk in. Never a problem. I get a manicure and pedicure every 2 weeks. Acrylic nails only for special occasions, such as vacations or wedding. I also get my facials here. Her name is Cindy, she is the owner. She is excellent, talented, calm, funny, and polite. Everyone else is good also. I am not picky when I go there because everyone that has worked on me has done such an excellent job. I highly recommend this place. They treat you real well when they know you are regulars. read more

I went b/c of the good reviews and it's OK at best. It's NOT that clean, it's old and not stylish. The chairs are broken and don't recline which really sucks as I was looking forward to going all out. They don't offer any delux pedicures with sea salt and all that stuff. It's a very basic salon. The ONLY good thing I have to say about this place is that they were very sweet and friendly. However, if I'm judging skills, this is probably the worst place I have been to. All I needed was a french tip color change but: 1. She didn't even remove the clear coat that I previously had on 2. She FREE HANDED the french tip with the brush from the bottle of polish. My french tips are crooked and uneven. I literally could've done a better job myself using the at-home french tip kit. Why did I even bother spending money on such a crappy job? 3. I was in desperate need to get my nails done because I was about to go on vacation for a week and I was not happy with my newly chipped natural nails. (I mean hey, if I'm about to take a million pictures, might as well have some nice nails!). Anyway, so I was being very picky about the nail salon I wanted to go to because I have heard many different horror stories around different salons that were in my nearby area. I did not want to take the chance of having that happen to me a few days before going vacation and having it ruin my whole mood. So while I was at work, my coworkers were hyping this place and saying how they do such a great job. I decided since my coworkers have been here faithfully for a while, I should take the chance. Upon coming to this salon, it was a nice salon in this little plaza, right next to this laundromat. When I came in, I was greeted by many friendly faces, but it was pretty busy that day so I did have to wait a bit. It was really clean and nice with a lot of selections of colors. I did bring my own colors just in case they did not have them, but when I went to see their selection, they actually had the same shades (but in different brands) and it was nice. While I was waiting, the other customers seemed to be very pleased by the results they were getting from their nails and I was actually really excited for my turn to be next. When the other customers were done and left, the man that worked there had actually called me up to do my nails. I was excited and showed him a picture of how I wanted my nails to be done. (I wanted an almond shaped acrylic with a sapphire color and gold design). He told me the price and it seemed pretty reasonable at $35 for the whole thing. The process was super easy, simple and clean. I am super clumsy and did mess up my nails a bit from the process of it drying in between the coats, but instead of him getting upset or sighing or anything, he happily just redid the coats of the nails and cleaned them up. I was happy about that since the other salons I've been too were not as nice. Once they were done I was super happy with the results. I will admit that some of the acrylic did end up on my nail and it still bothers me now, but it's not that noticeable. Also my cuticles were kind of uneven and they were not pushed back, but that is not such a big deal. All in all, i will have to admit that my coworkers were right about this nail salon. This salon is simple, clean, and has happy workers there. They will definitely get a revisit from me when it is time for my fill. I am so happy that I went to this place and gave this place a shot.
