I have straight eyelashes. A little straight and down actually. I have always admired everyone else's curled eyelashes. I looked into eyelash extensions, but stumped upon lash lift, and found Tori in Yelp! The process is a little long, about an hour. She takes cash only. There's a convenience store a block away from her that has an ATM if you forget cash! Be sure to get directions for when you arrive. It's a bit tricky to find her place. She says the lash could stay curled for up to 12 weeks depending on what you do to them. Mine only looked good for a month max. The second month, most lashes straightened out, while a few stayed curled. By the end of the second month, all my lashes were straight again. I don't wear much makeup (only eyeliner) on a day-to-day basis. I wear mascara only on special occasions, which was 3 times during the those two months. I never wear fake eyelashes. I'm not sure why mine didn't last as long, but it was nice while it lasted. It's a little expensive for my lashes to look good for only a month. I see why people do it if they curl their eyelashes everyday. It definitely saves a lot of time. It was definitely nice to have, and I might do it again for another special occasion. read more

I never thought of this but my hair is so blonde that you can hardly see them. Then she told me about this most awesome think called derma plane and it takes off all the deadskin off your face and the blonde peach fuzz I have as well. My experience with Tori at Eye Makeovers was so amazing that it inspired me to write my first yelp review. She has a gorgeously decorated studio that has an ocean view in Hermosa. I made an appointment with Tori prior to a surf trip to Central America- although they won't last as long- lash extensions make traveling in heavy humidity & in and out of water so much better. She moved some clients around and stayed later than usual just to get me in. During the appointment Tori was kind, thorough and very detail oriented. Tori is amazing! I had my lashes done and I'm in love with them! She uses the best lashes(not synthetic) so they have a more natural look to them. I also loved that she educates you on the whole process. She's attentive and a pleasure to talk to. She also shaped my brows and i must say she listened and didn't take too much off so I was very pleased with the results!! She does call outs if needed. Highly recommend!! I just recently had soft permanent eyeliner done by Tori on top lid and I couldn't be happier with my decision to get it done!! The soft liner gives it that pop that I'm always trying to achieve. The spaces between the eyelashes are hard to get to so this procedure is perfect for those days I just want to put mascara on or avoiding waking up without bare looking eyes. Also Tori put numbing gel which made the process more comfortable. The swelling was 3 days and it heals between 7-10 days. I've always been envious of girls with big beautiful natural looking lashes with lash extensions, but afraid to take the plunge myself. I've heard stories online and from friends on lash extensions and how they ruined their natural lashes or resulted in eye infections so you can understand my trepidation. I finally decided to pull the trigger for my upcoming wedding. I used Yelp to help find a lash artist who has only mostly 5 star reviews in the HB area. I researched a whole bunch of businesses and Tori by far was one of the most impressive. After reading through other testimonies and seeing the pictures, I was convinced to try Tori out. My experience started out rocky as I made my appointment online via Yelp but apparently, this was a new feature that Tori was not aware of and thus my appointment was not reserved - but I never received a notice. Normally this would just be merely annoying but because I needed to have my lashes done asap since I was flying out for my wedding in a few days, I was extremely agitated at the booking process. Thankfully, Tori was more than flexible and was able to get me in by coming in earlier than her normal open hours. This is the first observation that reflected Tori's professionalism and commitment to meet client's expectations. Her office is very clean and overlooks the Redondo beaches. During the entire lash process, Tori was warm and made me feel comfortable. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained each different kinds of lashes and what would work best for me. Tori also explained how to care and maintain your lashes, which is something I don't think many other lash artists bother to do. This is the second observation of Tori's professionalism. Tori is also painstakingly detailed and thorough. My process took over 3 hours because I wasn't comfortable with the first look and she spent the extra time to fix it. The end results were amazing - I absolutely loved how my lashes look and I appreciate Tori taking the time to make sure I was happy with it. She even added in a dermaplane to get me ready for my wedding! While 3+ hours was very long, now that she knows my preference, I'm sure the fill-in sessions will be much faster. I know I made the right choice when my friends at my wedding told me over and over again how beautiful my lashes look. I love how I can wake up and look like I'm already made up - no other eye make up necessary, which cut down on so much time. I've been going to Tori every 2 weeks for a lash fill and every single time I have been so pleased with them. Although I've had occasions where my lashes have fallen out faster than normal due to a lash growth and I usually just message Tori. Tori has accommodated me every single time without hesitation and is always happy to take care of me. She makes sure I am happy with my lashes and that they last they amount of time they should without even charging me. So far, Eye Makeovers Etc. lasts the longest even though it's the most expensive.
