She filed it down so it doesn't look like I have acrylics on but they're still on there. Three weeks later and the acrylic will still not come off! I have never had this problem before and this place should be closed down because they also tried to use used tools on me and if I say something they bring out a cheap tool that doesn't do the job the same. Disgusting. It's all about money here , shameful.

As I stated, the overall quality of the nail job was good, however I am speaking about the overall experience. This is what I have to say in response to your hostile response. I'm glad you admit it was a day lacking customer service and admit to at least some fault. However, your lack of professionalism and attacking me after I wrote a review based on MY experience says enough. Also, no one ever communicated there was a spa option, no one. There was hardly any communication whatsoever, let alone about any optional services. Where to start. Matthew has been doing my nails since I was 16 years old. I have litterly followed him and his wife to every shop they have moved to through out the years . All the new styles ? I had my nails done today by Jane who has been doing my nails for a while now! My feet were done by Kim. I have recently broken my wrist and the service I receive there is fabulous! My goal today was a fill with acillic and gels. I also got a pedicure! The service there is always outstanding and so relaxing. We picked out a lovely purple that matches my cast! Look elsewhere. I…read morecame here on a whim a week ago for a dip manicure and gel pedicure. Right away, I was thrown off by them asking me what color I wanted and I had to ASK to see the options. I didnt want them to choose the shade of red for me, is that weird? They also never showed me a price menu. They got to work doing my mani and pedi at the same time. My mani was done by Vivian, who gave me the sloppiest dip manicure. She also did not clarify what nail shape I wanted and cut them rounded when I prefer a little more squared off. She did not use proper technique for the dip manicure - I have had many dip manicures and this one was so sloppy in skill. She did not have me wash my hands to remove excess oils. She was putting 2-3 of my nails into the power container all at once and then dragging my hand around instead of inserting each nail one at a time at a 45 degree angle. My nails were hitting the bottom and sides of the powder container with each dip. To remove excess power, she would just slap my finger instead of using a brush, resulting in clumping of powder along the edges of my nails. She did a clear powder for several coats and then painted gel color over the top. She did not buff it to make the surface even, so it is all lumpy but I didnt notice that until I got home. The nails started lifting at the cuticle 2 days after my manicure, when I was on a vacation!!! Usually dips last me 3-4 weeks before lifting! The girl who did my pedicure was chatty and funny, but the pedicure experience did not feel relaxing. They use stand-alone pedicure soaking tubs which is fine. She asked me if i wanted my feet exfoliated and I said yes but no one told me if this was an extra fee or not. After soaking she put my bare feet onto empty tupperware containers! I have no idea if they were cleaned but it felt like such a cheap way to prop up feet. I then had to lift each foot onto a ledge with a towel for her to paint it. This ledge did not properly support the weight of the leg and ended in an ab workout the entire pedicure! Two of my toenails had a little gel polish that made it onto my cuticle and started to peel in that spot a few days after the pedicure as well. I also hated doing the mani and pedi at the same time because they forced me to turn by body uncomfortably. My spine was twisted so that my feet were forward but my upper body was 90 degrees to my right and i had to stay like that for the service. Plus then i had to use my abs to hold up my legs, which is unpleasant enough before the spine twist. After not seeing any prices, I was ultimately charged $80 which felt fair at the time. I didnt see how lumpy my nails were until I was home. But once my dip mani started lifting just a few days later, it felt overpriced for junk. I am now stuck paying someone to remove this manicure while on vacation less than a week after I got it done. Dip manicures should absolutely last more than a week.

Was excited to spend time dolling up with my bridesmaids, and we came on the recommendation from a bridesmaid in a bridal party a couple weeks prior. But what was intended to be a fun bonding experience quickly went south. For context: I NEVER get my nails done. The last time was over 5 years ago when I was in another bridal party. I had originally wanted something simple and natural, but decided to go for a "fun" style to mark the occasion. I showed the nail tech, Jenny, pictures of a milky ombre nail with some sparkle effect. She nodded, and started to get to work. I asked for rounded but not "too round." She began filing away with a HUGE emory board. Making quick work, she gave me a square with rounded off corners. I asked for a bit more round, and she rounded off more. I asked for still a little more because it looked too flat still, and she filed in diagonally until it came in to a flat tip. I was a little shocked by how much came off, and was feeling uncertain about the look. But she said there was no way to go back now, so I said okay to the rest of them done this way. I figured maybe it would look better with polish. She proceeded to file off the rest of my nails in a rush, mostly filing my skin rather than the nail. After filing, the edges were all uneven and very different lengths, and two of the fingers on my left hand had one side completely sawn off asymmetrically. Not pretty. I figured maybe she would come back and do detailed corrections later, but nope. Then came the cleaning of the cuticles. She nipped so deep that THREE of my fingers started to bleed. She didn't notice the bleeding though until she had already proceeded with chemical application, causing them to sting. She didn't pause to disinfect and stop bleeding. Just wiped acetone on them and kept going. She commented that my skin must be thin. It felt like she was saying it was my skin's fault for bleeding where she cut me. Then came the color. Base color job was nice and even. 5 stars. Tbh I could've stopped there and been fine with it. But once she tried to do the ombre... the sprayer machine she tried to use was out of battery. No backup. Not prepared. After struggling several minutes with getting the sprayer to charge back up, she gave up. But instead of explaining to me what was happening and giving me options to proceed, she decided to go ahead and manually apply the ombre with a paintbrush. It turned out very streaky. Let's call it an "artsy" ombre to be generous. Several layers of painting and curing later, once we were about finished, she then tells me that she can't do ombre with gel nails and I should have asked for powder. Again, not a nail regular, which I told her. And again, getting married the next day, which I told her. Yet somehow, my fault for asking for the wrong thing so that the ombre couldn't be achieved. The sparkle she added at my request as least helped mask some of the sloppiness. After all the painting and curing, it was finally time for top coat and finishing touches. One of my bridesmaids had finished 10 minutes earlier, and I had watched as her nail tech carefully cleaned the edges and made them neat and uniform with a wand, checking in with her regularly to make sure it was to her satisfaction. But Jenny... she came back with the giant emory board and hacked away at the corners again. Except this time, she tore into my flesh and I had to yelp in pain before she would stop. She left a deep gash in my finger, which she did not disinfect. And then once again commented on my "thin skin," as my fingers continued to bleed. This whole time I was staring at her California nail esthetician license, wondering if it's legit or if my experience is supposed to be normal for a nail salon. To wrap it up, she charged me double the regular price because it was not a basic gel manicure. She explained that other nail techs would have refused to do the ombre for gel nails, but because I was the bride, she tried her best for me (I wish she had been upfront and we wouldn't have bothered). Then she wished me luck on my wedding. We booked it out of there. Once I got home and inspected, it finally hit me how sloppy a job she did, how rushed out I felt, and frankly, how abused my nails and fingers were. I spent the afternoon miserably disinfecting the wounds with IPA. One of my bridesmaids called to complain, but they said the injury was an accident and refused to offer any sort of compensation. So buyer beware. Go somewhere else, or avoid Jenny.

It has been quite a while since I came back to this Fancy Nails, because I moved away to the north…read moreside of Los Angeles. I still haven't found a place that I like as much as Fancy Nails. I was happy to find that Nancy still works here, as she was my go-to when I lived nearby. As usual, her gel manicure was excellent, and now, 20 days later, although my nails are growing out, they have not chipped or worn away. From far away, you would think I still had a perfect manicure! A guy named David or Danny (sorry- I can't quite remember his name) did my French pedicure and callous removal, and he did a great job. He's not talkative, but that's not my vibe anyway. Some recent reviews had made my cautious coming in, but I am happy to report the quality of my manicure and pedicure were excellent. I had an appointment and was surprised to see the place so desolate when I walked in, but I walked out feeling great!
