Having most of my lashes fall out within an hour of having them done isn't great, is it? From the moment I walked into this place my gut instinct told me it was an impersonal lash factory churning out clients with inexperienced aestheticians. There seem to be one or two aestheticians who have been there a while and have loyal customers but the one I got didn't inspire any confidence. Ana was nice but was unable to help me get the look I wanted, and what she did give me was a disaster. First of all, I went in and asked for B curl eyelashes - I wanted them full but short. She said they don't have B curls and only have C. Okay, cool, let's do C. Then I asked her how full they would look (I had originally booked True Volume) and she held up a box and said it was a fan of six. I asked her again how full it would be and showed her a picture of what I wanted but she still wasn't able to tell me how full it would be, so I asked for Mega Volume. I even asked her to recommend lengths for me but she just said let's try to follow this lash map you have... which ended up looking completely different. She then asked me to lay down on the hard bench they have - with no pillow. I was surprised but thought okay, maybe it won't be too bad, but two hours later my neck was killing me so I asked her for a pillow. She said they only had a small one. Well, whatever, bring it out! Offer your client some comfort! I heard one of the other techs ask their client if she wanted a blanket. I got no such offer. When she was finally done, and handed me the mirror to look at myself, I was HORRIFIED. I looked like a clown. The lashes were uneven, too long, and had volume but were NOTHING like the picture. She should have known that it would not look like the picture I showed her before she started. It was very clear throughout the whole thing that she was inexperienced and didn't really know how to skillfully mix lengths to give me what I wanted. What a joke - I was extremely unhappy and she had no clue how to even try to fix it. So now I'm out $250+ and completely unhappy a few hours before I get on a plane to go on vacation. I get home and am staring at my eyelashes in my bathroom mirror when I suddenly see some hanging off. I gently use the spoolie to comb it back in, when... the lashes start falling out in clumps. The attached photo should tell you all you need to know. Half the lashes she put on basically fell out immediately. It was a horrible experience and I would have gone back to fix it but for one thing I was getting on a plane and for the second thing I didn't want her anywhere near my lashes again. This place is awful and I'm truly surprised at the positive reviews. You may have a good experience with one of the more experienced aestheticians but otherwise this place is just a money making venture that is understaffed with inexperienced staff. read more

****WARNING--DON'T GO HERE*** My eyebrows fell out after brow lamination, sub-optimal lash extension experience and disappointing customer service. Recently joined and my first service was an eyelash extension. I had someone who seemed inexperienced--- my eyelashes seemed to be curling and pointing in different directions and I didn't quite get all the "maintenance" info I needed (received more the next day). I followed direction carefully but my lashes started falling out immediately and they were pretty much gone within the week. I know that's a risk but the short time frame really put me off. I suppose I should have paid the extra money for a more experienced tech? I had also had a brow lamination ---there was very limited info on the website so I physically went to the location to inquire. I asked many questions about the safety and results. I received limited information and that should have been my sign to walk away. Immediately after, I had a concern about the processing and called customer service to request a CALL back--- which never came. Text support is hit or miss and chat function seemed useless. Within a couple of days my previously healthy, normal looking eyebrows seemed to disappear and it looks like they were "singed" off. It appears I was over processed?? I asked for a refund multiple times and they REFUSED. They did offer a re-do but they weren't registering that my eyebrows had disappeared. This less than desirable response is the main reason I'm even writing this. If I offered a recurring membership service, I would be going out of my way to keep a client happy. They don't seem to care. The picture below was taken during the first week as I was losing the eyebrows (they still also had tinting on the skin so that's not all hair) --- the damage/loss progressed from there. Brenda is AMAZING. On my first time going in she was so sweet & accommodating, answering all my questions & really making sure she knew what I was looking for to give me the best results. I just started coming here about 3 months ago. Savannah does my True Express lashes. She does such a great job, I receive many compliments, they look very natural (like I just put mascara on) . I was very impressed with the set, so naturally I am member now and get my fills done by her as well. The process is so relaxing every time that I fall asleep. Applying the lashes never hurts, I cannot even fell them being applied. I am comparing her technique to other places I've been before that was very uncomfortable and I would never fall asleep. I've gotten MANY lash lifts... i would say close to 6 and i always go to the same lady in Long beach which i'm going to continue to go to her and which i never tried a new place. Don't get me wrong it's very pretty inside and the staff is very friendly and nice. BUT last lifts take close to 2 hours... This lady started at 205... i was in my car driving away at 257. not long enough. Again i've gotten many lash lifts before and my lashes are long. After this treatment they do not look lifted at all. AT ALL. i hate leaving bad reviews but i spent $170 there today and i am not happy. I'm a young student with 2 jobs. I just started getting lash extensions about 2 months ago and was a little nervous about finding a trustworthy spot that I wasn't referred to through friends, family etc. Deka Lash has exceeded expectations! When you cancel your membership, it's a 30 day notice so you'll be charged another month. Additionally, you have another 30 days to use or LOSE your benefit. This was not clearly explained to me as the person I spoke to when I cancelled stated I can use my benefit ANYTIME. Nope, not true! Once it's in a cancelled state and you don't go back in for a service within that time frame, bye bye money. The supervisor on duty was unwilling to help and stated there was nothing she could do. When you cancel, check your spam folder as well. They don't care if you received it or not, they only care that they have a time stamp that they sent it to you. This place is very clean and overall a pleasant experience. If I like the lashes, I may get them again. An update on my most recent review I had a lot of trouble with the automatic charging my card without my permission however the owner Jeff reached out to me and did his best to correct the situation. He told me he was only able to refund three of the charges out of five however I am disputing the first two charges through my credit card company. Avoid this business. I walked in and asked about getting lashes for my girlfriend. I was told it would be $100 for a first-time client. I brought her in and we both discussed the lashes service. We both were quoted $100, and she got her top lashes done. A few days later I noticed that my credit card was charged $169.99. I asked Deka Lash about the charge. They were unapologetic and said $169.99 was their normal charge for full lashes. Never once was she quoted that price. I suspect this company does this routinely as a strategy. It's a scam. They're fine. Unless you have a problem. My lashes didn't lift much and I contacted them about my options. They did offer to fix them but had limited times they could do so AND a time limit to get them done. I'd already paid for a sitter the first time and I didn't want to do that again. They were less than accommodating so I suggested either a refund (so I could go somewhere with better hours) or a credit for next time. They didn't agree to either. Finally they found a time that worked for me and I asked them to book it. Just before they did they told me it was a mistake and they were not actually available at that time. I did ask to be contacted by the owner but was told he was unavailable. As a former business owner myself, I didn't like the way any of this was handled. I shouldn't even HAVE to take another two hours out of my day for the correction. This is not a favor to me and they should have been way more accommodating. Plus this entire text exchange has been going on since Friday and I still don't have a direct answer. I won't be going back. Update: The order contacted me and apologized for the customer service. He also explained (in detail) that these reps work for all of the locations so it wasn't that simple to contact the owner.
