I came into Starlet a desperate woman. The simple little bridesmaid dress I had ordered (from another store) to serve as my wedding dress had arrived 3 weeks before the wedding - and it was AWFUL. I never, ever imagined wearing a wedding gown, and had in fact ruled out visiting any bridal stores. But here I was with nothing to wear. My mom paid an emergency scouting visit to the Starlet special occasion shop, and they walked her over to Starlet Bridal. The wonderful ladies there told her 'Just bring her in. We can solve this! We can find something for her!' Even with just three weeks to go? My fiance and my mom semi-dragged me in, and the lovely women at the shop convinced me to try some things on. The first few weren't working, and I was getting a little discouraged. Then they showed me one last dress. It was everything I was trying to avoid - strapless, silk satin, beading, a train! But it almost fit - and when I walked out of the dressing room my fiance teared up and nearly fell out of his chair. I had the absolute BEST experience ever!! I came in yesterday tried on a bunch of dresses, I tried on one that I liked tried on more and decides to try it on again as my last dress. I had a melt down. it was perfect but I was just so anxious and they made me feel great. they calmed me down, made me feel comfortable, made me feel like I was the only one that mattered. Irene was SO amazing in helping me try on wedding gowns that I had sent her ahead of time and similar ones she thought I'd like. So much thought and details went into it! Very professional and a fun experience at the same time! The woman who does their alterations, Lina Ermakova, is an expert at altering wedding gowns. She cares deeply about her work and makes sure that your gown fits to perfection! She immediately knew how to move a couple of the appliqués on my daughter's train to make it fit her petite frame better. We have been so happy with her work that my daughter also had her alter two bridesmaid dresses for weddings that she was in. Lina is truly amazing! This place was great! I came in with my mom, sister, grandma and future sister and mother in laws. This place had a great variety of dresses, styles and sizes, other dress stores I had been to only had really small sample sizes that I could hardly squeez into. The sale asssociate (I think her name was Mandy) was great! She was funny, not at all pushy and had some great ideas. Whoever said you'd just know which dress was meant for you as soon as you put it on wasn't joking. As soon as I came out of the dressing room in "the dress" I couldn't stop smiling and that was the only dress that I came out in (and I tried on like 25 dress that day) that my family gasped when they saw it. Starlet Bridal is everything you could hope for in a wedding dress shopping experience. I brought 5 people with me to look for my dress. We were greeted by Irene, our personalized sales associate, and shown to an area of the salon that they had already set up with all the chairs we needed. They even had (delicious!) cupcakes and refreshments set out for us. When I told them I had a bridesmaid in London that I wanted to FaceTime during the process they even gave me the wifi information so that we could include her. Irene sat down with me to discuss what exactly it was that I was looking for, what I wanted and didn't want, and what my budget was. She then went around the store and gathered all of the dresses she thought I might like, including a few my mom chose. I tried on an array of several dresses in every style I had mentioned, all of which were stunning and exactly what I had asked for. We were there for almost 2 hours and had to leave due to a lunch reservation. I also had a second appointment at a different store that afternoon, no part of which you could even compare to this one. I ended up racing back to Starlet to buy the second dress I tried on. I cannot thank Starlet and Irene enough. They made my day so special and care free. I felt like a princess! I am a plus size bride and I was SO nervous to go dress shopping! I spoke to Ali, the owner, on the phone and I asked her if there was a good selection of PS dresses for me to try. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me answering my questions, calming me down, and assuring me that she prides herself on stocking PS dresses that don't "look like PS dresses". I was so happy to hear that! The last thing I want is to feel like I HAD to get a dress because I'm PS, not because I wanted that dress. I had to move my appointment a few times and everyone I spoke to was so kind and helpful on the phone. When it came to the day of, I was running late and they were so understanding and didn't make me feel bad for being late. When we got there, they brought out champagne, cookies, water and lemonade for anyone who didn't want alcohol. They made me comfortable, told me to look around, asked to see any inspiration photos I had, etc. I was originally going to work with Ali but she was sick so she had me work with Madison. She was AMAZING! She was funny, friendly and kind. She seemed GENUINELY interested in me, my wedding and what would look best on my shape, not just what I could fit into. I was shocked at how many dresses I was actually able to get on my body. I tried on around 6, but I had WAY more options than that. I was so pleased. I felt like a skinny girl who could try on anything she wanted. Ali wasn't kidding about stocking PS dresses that weren't typical PS. I ended up falling in love with one in particular and I haven't gotten it yet, but I intend to. Madison spent so long with us and she was so professional when she was helping me into & out of the dresses. She gave us a hug at the end of our visit and I felt SO taken care of. I said yes to the dress over the weekend! Years ago, I bought my prom dress here, and I had such a great experience, so we definitely had to come back for a wedding gown. Before I tried on dresses, I showed the girl helping me (I am so sorry I forget her name but she was so awesome!) a couple examples of dresses I had liked, and she pulled about 9 or 10 dresses for me to try on. They were all within my budget that I had requested, so it made the decision easy. Every one of them was just like the style I had imagined/requested so I didn't try on a single dress that I hated. Starlet Bridal is amazing! I am SO happy that I found them. I came here for my first wedding dress experience with a friend of mine who is also getting married soon. We were both very nervous about trying on wedding dresses for the first time, but the ladies at Starlet could not have made us more comfortable. Before we knew it, we were diving right in and trying on dress after dress. Amanda was helping me out (she is awesome!) and really helped to make the experience fun and positive. We left there in a really great mood, and on a little bit of a wedding high! It was the perfect experience for me, (someone who has been a little bit nervous about this whole wedding dress thing), in order to get my feet wet and really get the ball rolling! I had visited a few other bridal shops in the area after this first experience, and I can tell you that Starlet was hands down the most friendly, knowledgeable and helpful shop that I had been to. I went to Starlet on my lunch break to make an appointment for my bridesmaids and I to pick out our dresses for Oct. 22nd. They asked me when the wedding was, I told them April 7th. Jill was the woman who was helping me and she nicely told me that I was pushing it with the wedding being so close. She thought it was best that I tried on dresses right then and there. I got nervous, because I was by myself and was hoping my girls would be there with me. That wouldn't be possible because some of them were coming from out of town (why I chose Oct. 22nd) Jill was so sweet. She set my mind at ease. Best bridal shop in northern California! I highly recommend this shop for your wedding dress. A few months ago, I was short on time and losing hope on finding the right dress. After searching dozens of shops for an elegant, modern and well made dress without having to spend thousands of dollars, I was down to the last minute and almost forced to settle. Fortunately, I ended up at Starlet and my perseverance paid off! They were caring, professional and the only store in the area who carry the makers of my dress, Pollardi. I gave them my price point and they didn't show me anything over it, patiently showed me a variety of styles while listening to my preferences and made this big decision feel relaxed. My friend is getting married May 2020 and I'm a bridesmaid. I called a few places ahead of time to schedule a few bridesmaids dress fittings. I called Starlet and scheduled the "pink drink" or "tea party" and it was the worst experience so far. We went to 3 different places and all of the consultants who helped us were very attentive besides the ladies who helped us here...the main consultant actually never even told us her name. She just stood there with her mouth open and was not assisting us in clipping the dresses back or anything like that. She barely spoke. Another lady offered us champagne but gave us plastic cups whereas all of the other groups got nice champagne flutes and we had to ask them for the flutes.. when we were done trying dresses on the lady who was helping us was nowhere to be found so we just politely thank one of the consultants and went on our way. read more

I want to start of by saying WOW!! What an experience it was at Starlet! I was engaged in September, married in December (of the same year!) and we had a truly remarkable experience at Starlet! Irene is one in a million! She was such a lovely, kind, encouraging, absolutely knowledgeable and wonderful woman to work with! My mom and I left loving Irene, and consider her a friend. She helped us SO much. Starlet was the first place we visited for my dress, on a whim, and with left with ordering the most beautiful wedding dress I could ask for. All of the staff were involved, bridesmaid dresses were beautiful, they helped us so much, saw our vision, color scheme, and helped bring our wedding to life! I cannot say thank you, enough, to the team at Starlet and for such a wonderful experience!! For those who have commented things like "I was rudely ignored and not helped..." "Attitude and poor customer service..." "I was given a used dress..." "They say walk ins welcome but I was ignored..." Those things are not true, at all. I was in the store showing Irene our wedding album and video after hours and when my mom and I were in, a customer came in. Irene recognized them, said she was so sorry but nobody was currently available to help a walk-in as there was a HUGE appointment scheduled and they were almost closed, and the individual left, wrote a rude review stating that they were ignored and not helped, which was absolutely false. Just got home from a 2nd alteration fiasco. While Azy is more than likely an independent contractor, she was working out of the boutique and the owner was present during all three of our visits. My daughters dress fit almost perfectly when she initially tried it out. After having alterations done, the zipper would barely go up. When we return today there wasn't much difference. Azy then informed me, the mother, that she did not have the bra pads in the dress when she did the alterations! Of course it isn't going to fit the same once they are in. I'm not sure if the language barrier was to blame or not. We now have four days to find someone that can alter this professionally. read more

I love the feel of Starlet Bridal. It's such a cute little boutique bridal store and the service is amazing. The feel is much better than going to one of the warehouse type bridal stores and honestly, the prices are completely competitive! But the feel also makes you feel that picking out your wedding dress is a special time and that you deserve to be in a place that represents how important this whole experience is. The women that run the store (and the original Starlet across the way in Monty Village) are all related and you can tell they have fun with each other and running the stores. They are incredibly helpful, sweet and will help you try to find jewelery, accessories or whatever you need to go with your dress. When I first started looking I figured that the warehouse type stores would have cheaper dresses but when I went to the other stores, not only did I think Starlet's dresses were much more beautiful and better quality even though the selection isn't as large (but how can you compete in size with the Costco version of a wedding dress store?) but we were able to get my dress, shoes, veil and earrings for under $1200!! And I promise you, I will wear my shoes again because they are ADORABLE! At the warehouse stores, I couldn't find a dress that I liked for under $900. I'm so happy that Santa Rosa has such a great bridal store! I have a friend from Novato that's getting married in San Francisco and I love this place so much that I told her she has to at least check it out! And the lady that does the alterations if you have them done at Starlet, Azy, is amazing and incredibly sweet as well. She even stayed open late one night to do a fitting for me because I live in San Francisco and only come up to Santa Rosa every couple weekends to visit my parents. I can't say enough about Starlet- if you're looking for your wedding dress, you have to check out Starlet. It will probably be where you find your perfect dress! Even a 1 star is too much for this terrible nightmare!! I wish I read the review before. Besides the customer service that was a total zero, I overlooked it and wanted to get my daughters prom dress finalized. The signs were all there that the customer service was so bad! they ignore you when you come into the store, they have all the young teen ages in the store that are sitting around eating burgers with their hands full of oil. You have to ask for help. finally we decided to go to a different location, Santa Rosa, things seemed a bit better organized, at least that is what we thought, we could not really fit anything in the fitting room as the fitting room is at the back in a cluttered messy area, you can hardly move in there. After giving me a commitment to wash the dress, they recommended a seamstress that was across in their bridal store who can do our fitting as the dress was too big. I finally had to beg to get the dress as they promised alterations will be complete. Despite that, they did not even complete the alterations and gave me the dress not washed as they promised. $432 for the dress and $136 for alteration. I was shocked and had my daughter in tears when the owner said we are liars. What a nightmare! This is the worst place on the planet. I could not believe these women could be so cold and unprofessional not only to me but my 18 year old daughter! What a prom nightmare, and no dress! Just going to fight this lady in court for every penny and emotional stress she caused not only me but my daughter. read more

USPS lost my dress ! After getting engaged in Aug 2011 we set the wedding date for Jan 2012 in HI, only 4 1/2 months away. My apt at Starlet went swimmingly. I found the dress I loved and the staff was able to confirm if I ordered it that week it would arrive in enough time for me to have alterations done before my big day. Come early December my dress was one week late (not something I was worried about). But the staff informed me at my first fitting apt that the dress had gone off course and they were able to track it down on the east coast and get it delivered safe and sound. I appreciate that they handle the situation without informing me. I didn't need to be stressing over a missing dress. Kudos Starlet! This is where my story gets good. My wedding planner convinced me to mail my dress to HI. If I carried it myself there would be no time to have the dress pressed and steamed before my wedding. Against the advice from the staff at Starlet Bridal and my gut telling me no, I mailed my dress with the USPS. You know what I'm going to say.... The postal service lost my dress. I had one week to get over it and find a replacement because my dress is still nowhere to be found. It must have been a blessing but the store sample of my dress happened to be my size. Starlet Bridal worked it out so that I could have the sample from the store. They cleaned the dress and I had it altered in two days. The day before I was walking onto my flight I had a dress in hand for my wedding day. They didn't have to help me. It wasn't their fault the postal service failed to do their job. But this is why it pays to shop with small businesses. I'm thankful for the personal interaction and being able to work with people who care about their customers. I could have shopped in their store and purchased my dress online but then where would I be today? I would have had no one to help me, no one who cared about my situation. I would have had to purchase two dresses for one wedding. Instead I'm happy and beaming and thankful for business like Starlet Bridal. read more

I found Starlet bridal when I was living in California. I attended a Matthew Christopher trunk show in December of 2010 and ended up finding my dress. Matthew Christopher is amazing and went out of his way to make sure everything was right and that I felt special. His dresses are worth every penny. The wonderful experience I had at Starlet was due to him, but unfortunately did not have a good experience with the store employees. They did not make me feel welcome and seemed to be more preoccupied with another customer, even though I was about to spend 1000's of dollars on a dress from their store. I attempted to make conversation (shouldn't it be the other way around?), but they responded with quick, impersonal answers and didn't seem to care that I was there. My second disappointing experience with the staff was when I went to try on the MC dress I had ordered. This was six months later and it was on time as promised. In those six months I decided to attend school in Iowa and be closer to my fiance, so when my dress came in, I needed it to be sent across the country. The staff was not willing to send my dress. They told me it was best for me to send it myself and didn't even offer me any kind of advice or material for packing. I managed to get it done, which was fine, but considering the money I spent I felt like that would have been a nice gesture. Despite the fact I was the only person in the store, the staff made me feel like I was invisible again, hardly talked to me, wouldn't crack a smile, and very standoffish in general. I wondered if it was me or the fact that the employees didn't like their jobs. The store has a wonderful collection of dresses, so if you aren't worried about customer service this store would be fine for you. read more

Starlet Bridal saved my wedding, literally. I purchased my dress (paid in full) from a local bridal shop in Reno August of 2014. My dress was due to arrive February 10, 2015. After getting the run around from the bridal shop owner I originally ordered my dress through up until May 25th, I was so desperate, I called the dress maker myself to find they hadn't shipped anything to the bridal shop owner since February because she hadn't paid her bills! No bride should ever have this happen. Sheer panic set in to know I wouldn't get my already paid for dress and it was four weeks before the wedding. Worst bridal appointment I ever went to. I was constantly interrupted by by consultant who claimed she knew exactly what I wanted - she didn't! I tried on at least 12 dresses that were all wrong for me. Each time, I tried to give my opinion or clarify what I was looking for, again I was interrupted. She pushed every dress I hated on me and kept suggesting alterations to dresses I just didn't want. Finally, she let me look through the store and the appointment got back on track. Rented a tuxedo from them after a lousy experience with one of the more known places to go. Came in by chance when my wife and step daughter were looking for their dresses. Don't be shy guys, though the majority of the store is dedicated to women they know their stuff on how to fit men. Great value too!! read more

I had a great experience here deciding on my wedding dress. The staff really listened to what I wanted and pulled options for my arrival when I made an appointment.
