An olive-wood board with a selection of painstakingly-sourced ingredients : honey, lemongrass, cardamom, fresh mint, cinnamon stick, the list goes on, and a pot of hot water. For mains we had the Goan chicken curry, a mild coconut style curry with coconut rice and a roti. And we also shared the beef tacos. These were my favorite, they were full of spicy, smokey and tasty goodness. Dessert was a Belgian waffle with ice cream and Nutella. The waffle was hot, but quite hard. Mrs D had a fry-up which looked great, but couldn't compete with my chicken. But after buying this order a couple of times a month I have proceeded to grow my belly, so had to stop. I've also dragged my friends in here and had cocktails at 1pm (we were hungover, and needed a boost). The cocktails were amazing - they had bloody Mary's and I had a Mojito. It cured us enough to have two more. They also support the community with events such as Barboot and hold exhibitions (the next one they are holding is Women in Crouch End). I do tend to avoid this place on a late Saturday/Sunday Morning/early lunchtime as it gets very busy, noisy and a little crowded. Best time is to go is on a weekday.

I always like trying a bit of everything so I went with one of their sweetest options: French Toast with a healthy serving of banana and a berry compote; and a not-so-healthy serving of chocolate sauce and thick mascarpone. And that creamy mascarpone cut through the decadent chocolate and tartness of the compote nicely.
