This is exactly what West Seattle needs! Danielle and her team are so friendly and helpful, and the classes are doable for every experience level, even first timers. So excited about this addition to the Junction!

SoulCycle SLU changed that for me, and I absolutely love their total body, dance-rhythmic approach to indoor cycling. Every instructor here is top notch - their playlists are at the same time current and classic, and most importantly, fun! By the time our ride ends, I cannot believe that 45 minutes have passed, and check my calorie monitor to see that I've burned 500-600 calories. Every. Single. Time. The facilities are also super clean (I'm very picky about this in a gym or studio), and the staff are willing to help you get set up for your first (or second, or third, or fourth...) time riding! The experience is a must-try. The space is on the small side, but in some ways, the intimacy is what makes riding at SoulCycle SLU so fun. Also, changing / grabbing a bathroom or shower has never been an issue for me--I think that there's ample space in the common areas to get your stuff together before & after class. You really feel camaraderie with both the other riders and your instructor with each and every ride, and I can't say that about any other cycling class that I've ever taken. I'm sold--SoulCycle is my new favorite way to workout.

It all started…read morewhen I decided to attempt first triathlon (an Olympic distance race involving a 0.9mile swim, 24mile bike, and 6.2mile run, in mid August 2015). I'm a long time distance runner, but had never gotten into triathlons. In just 6 short weeks Peter and Jennifer had me trained and ready for my race where I managed to place first in my age-group and 4th out of all the women (missing 3rd place by less than 1minute!). Just a few weeks later I went on to set a new half marathon PR by over 4minutes! And one week after that I broke my previous 5k PR, from when I was 19, by almost 1minute!! Neither of those PR's had been goals, they just happened as a result of all the training I'd put in for my triathlon! Fast forward to April 2016 where I set a new marathon PR by over 11minutes, qualified for the Boston Marathon, placed 2nd out of all the women and 1st in my age-group! Again, all thanks to STR's amazing coaching. Not only did Peter and Jennifer give me personalized workouts, they often joined me for harder sessions to push me and encourage me. When it came to race day, they gave me a mile-by-mile plan of exactly what I needed to be doing; what pace to be running, where my HR should be, what I should be eating/drinking, etc... They took all the guess-work out of race day and all I had to do was follow the plan. Less than one year after that first Olympic distance race, Peter and Jennifer coached me to the finish line of my first IRONMAN (2.4mile swim, 112mile bike, 26.2mile run). They went above and beyond by actually being there at the race with me. They made a point of checking in with me in the days leading up to the event, asking how I was feeling, etc... Morning of the race they were there with me at the start line, they saw me exit the swim and head out on the bike, they were there when I came off the bike and headed into the run, and they were there cheering me on at the finish line. I cannot tell you how amazing it is having the people who have been coaching you for an event for nearly 6-months being there with you at the biggest race of your life, encouraging you and cheering you on the entire time. If you're looking to set some new PR's, take on a new distance or sport, or just work on improving overall fitness I HIGHLY recommend STR!

Lucky I found Beautiful Bike thanks to a Groupon, because this is easily the best indoor bike class I've done. The RealRyder bikes are great, and Peter sets them up for you with pedals, seats and proper fit. He also checks in before and after classes to see if you're still happy with the set up. Peter runs most classes and he's great, not only does he motivate the class, he also coaches technique for efficient cycling, something very much missing from other spin instructors. Also the Monday night sessions with Tony on drums to liven up the music are great fun, and add some variety to the class. Would recommend to anyone from cycling novice to experienced cyclists.

Honestly, the only thing missing here is the packed house. But that's inevitable, I'm sure of it...

When you hear the trope of gyms being difficult to cancel, this is that gym. This place offers group cycle classes and group HIIT classes. Business card and building indicates new clients can buy one month of services and get the second month free. *THIS WAS NOT ACCRUATE IN MY EXPERIENCE* I took one of the HIIT classes and had an alright experience. It was 30 minutes and just me and one other participant in what appeared to be a small garage with little ventilation. During the class the instructor had asked us both what we would do if we didn't have to work, and money was taken care of. The instructor didn't like my response and scoffed at me while appearing to favor the other participants response. I found this mildly off-putting but still enjoyed the quick convenient workout. I registered through MINDBODY for a month of the HIIT classes. I attended a couple more classes that month (each experience similar with the instructor seemingly not interested in engaging with me, even for small talk) and decided to do the free month and then call it quits. To my shock the gym changed me for the second month. The gym was very hard to get ahold of, I left several messages and emails that went unanswered - all requesting to cancel my membership and refund me for the second month. This process continued into the third month when they charged me again. I eventually looked up their class schedule and waited in the boutique gym to speak to the instructor prior to class and informed her I have been trying to cancel my membership and need to be refunded for the two months I was erroneously charged. She made a few clicks on the computer and then said it was taken care of. I confirmed TWICE that my account was cancelled and that I would be refunded both months and she said 'yes'. To my surprised 10 business days later, I only received ONE refund month and a charge for the following month. To this day the gym continues to try to charge my card, I had to dispute the transactions with my credit card company and put a stop payment for future transactions. I wish I had done the stop payment much sooner. The disputed charges were resolved in my favor, but the process took months.
