I've tried classes from three different instructors over the past two weeks. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during my first ride. They were personable and made sure I was comfortable! The front desk staff showed me around the studio and the instructor came up to me to make sure I was all set up and even brought me ear plugs in case I needed them! Each instructor has a different style; it's a lot of fun trying new ones and finding your favs. During the class the instructors are encouraging and offer modifications for some moves. I know people can feel intimidated by going to spin class, but I think this studio does a great job at welcoming and creating a positive uplifting environment. I enjoyed my three classes so much, I even bought a membership! Can't wait to keep attending classes, it's becoming a highlight of my week. read more

Tried out City Cycle for the first time yesterday, and was back again this morning. I lift 5 days a week but truly hate cardio so much, at least I thought I did. The classes at city cycle are fun and challenging. Not just boring watch your watch until you get to your target (unlike how I normally do) both the 45 minute class and 60 minute class went by so fast, and I was literally dripping sweat with an ear to ear grin. read more

5 stars all the way, every single time. This is the most efficiently run workout studio/gym I've ever attended. Staff is amazingly kind and they listen and care about feedback. The classes are always an amazing and there's so much variety in times and instructors - it's always a great workout. They celebrate all the milestone rides - riders, staff. I was in town visiting family and hadn't taken a good spin class in years. I instantly felt welcomed into this beautiful studio. I took advantage of their two for one package deal. I took two classes, one with Alisa and one Ethan. Both were incredible instructors with tons of energy and positivity. It is clean, provides cold towels, and has cheap spin shoe rentals. Updating my ROTD 3 years later... With the pandemic going on, City Cycle has been trying its best to stay open. They are renting out bikes to members, offering streaming classes and selling merchandise, which is just in time for Christmas. I recommend following them on instagram for to up-to-date information. I am currently streaming spin classes once a week, because I love riding with Katie PYT. I love her music selection and energy she brings to the class. If you don't have a bike to use, they do have free classes to stream that don't require any equipment. Or better yet, purchase merchandise and/gift cards to help out City Cycle. What a workout! This was my second spin class EVER and my first time at City Cycle. Before class, I got a full tour and assistance setting up my bike. I feel like everyone working there made a point to introduce them self and encourage me before the ride which really made me feel welcome and comfortable. The first 5 min of class were a little overstimulating- but I also am completely new to spin. After the first song I felt more settled in and has a blast! A huge calorie burn and I loved that there was plenty of mindfulness woven into the class. It felt like a party and I really enjoyed it. The amenities were fabulous-they have shoe rentals, towels, and even frozen towels for after. I loved the space. Parking was a snap too-it's across the street from a big free lot! I love, love, LOVE City Cycle!!! It makes working out so much fun and it's genuinely one of the highlights of my week. I've tried different spin studios in the area (Soul Cycle, Flywheel) as well as Peloton, and City Cycle is by far my favorite. It's probably most comparable to Soul Cycle, but it feels much less corporate-y and more down to earth. The instructors at Soul Cycle are also hit-or-miss while all the instructors I've taken classes with at City Cycle (8+ so far) have been fantastic. The front desk staff are also very friendly and helpful. The combination of choreography and lights at City Cycle makes time fly by. It feels like being at a club, but you're getting a great workout while you're at it! I usually wear concert earplugs since the music can sometimes get loud. In terms of parking, the parking garage is small and fills up fast so you may have to find street parking if it's full. I've heard from the front desk that parking at the Fred Meyer across the street has resulted in some tickets so beware! I think City Cycle is best paired with a different type of workout since it's limited to cycling and a few minutes of arms, but it's a GREAT cardio burn and goes well with many other exercise routines. I love city cycle! It's one of my go to places to get a great workout! The place is super cute and always clean the instructors always have the best music. My fave thing though is the cold towels you can have after with lavender! The rides are 45 mins, you get a great cardio workout but they also do arm work and balance which gets your abs in there too. I come here at least twice a week! Highly recommend if you live nearby or you're visiting to give it a go! Also very welcoming of all abilities. read more

Thank goodness this place has pushed through Covid. Parking across the street is an option. They take your temperature when you come in (not that it matters). Masks are worn while in the space until you get to your bike. They rent shoes, have sweat towels and lockers for use. I'm not sure if showers are open yet but bathroom is available. Teachers are great I love that they use your name, nothing like being called out for showing up and riding. Great music, I've started wearing ear plugs which they provide. I typically go to the 7am but they have 5:30am classes. I wish there were classes after 6pm as I work until 7pm. Did I mention cool towels for after class and usually banana or apple for the way home. read more

City Cycle is the real deal! Music driven, high energy, party lights, all the amenities, what more could you want out of a studio? My favorite part is that there are no screens to monitor your "progress" but instead the instructors give suggestions on resistance and challenge you through the tempos of the music. It's not a competitive environments but rather one of lifting up your neighbor through your energy. The staff is so helpful and friendly, and they ensure you feel supported and uplifted from the minute you walk in the door! The community is truly incredible, and I can't recommend this space enough. Where do I even begin? City Cycle has completely revolutionized my relationship with fitness. Coming from someone who has always struggled with their body and confidence, City Cycle's team and instructors have all been so welcoming, loving, relatable, and kind. After retiring from being a ballerina my whole childhood, I didn't understand fitness, gyms, etc. It was all so intimidating and scary. After 5 years in Seattle, finding this community changed my life, and my relationship with fitness couldn't be better. If you like music, concerts, raves, high energy, and/or community, I highly recommend the classes here. I cannot get nearly as good of a workout on my own in a quiet gym, if you like rhythm riding this is the place! City Cycle has been like my second home since I moved back to Seattle in late 2017 and took my first class with Chris Blackburn. It would take me five years before I was even willing to consider trying out another studio in the city, since I was so hooked on City Cycle from day one. Indoor cycling studios can be intimidating spaces when you're new to spin or group workout classes, but City Cycle isn't that way at all. It is inclusive and welcoming and the community is absolutely incredible and unlike any other fitness studio I've ever been to. The instructors are fantastic, the classes are engaging, motivating, and challenging, and I think City Cycle represents what spin studios SHOULD be: fun, challenging, inclusive, a judgment-free zone, and 100% a party on a bike. I'm so glad there's finally a spin studio outside of South Lake Union! Driving to SLU is a nightmare and parking there is even worse, so City Cycle was the answer to my prayers. City Cycle even has a free parking garage which is an amazing bonus. I'm not a lover of cardio by any means (I typically stick to lifting/yoga) but spinning is the only form of cardio I mostly enjoy. I say mostly because if the instructor wants us in third position (standing up and peddling) for an extended amount of time with no break in the saddle, my feet really bother me. However, nobody shames you for sitting down when you need to and the entire studio just has such a positive, energizing vibe, so I'll be returning here again and again for my cardio needs. read more

I'm just here to give City Cycle another shameless plug because, to be quite honest, I'm completely hooked. Ask any of my friends, all I talk about lately is how much I enjoy spin class, to the point where I seem like I'm recruiting friends into a cult. The best part is -- they all grow to love it too!!! I've been taking classes at City Cycle since November, while also trying other forms of group exercise, including Orangetheory and other unmentionable spin studios (honestly, not worth mentioning, because City Cycle is the best ;-)) I finally got to the point where I decided, you know what? I don't enjoy any of those classes, I'm spending the money anyway, and finally chose to become a member and enjoy unlimited classes for my spin-loving little self. I can absolutely say that the vibe here, the instructors, the other members, and the amenities are 100000% worth it. I actually look forward to my workout and I always leave feeling invigorated and ready for the day to start/end. I have made my way around a few spin studios around Seattle and it was a joy to not have to drive south of Salmon Bay. I went to a class on July 15 and was blown away by the facility and amenities. Definitely impressed with how they distribute bike shoes. I did not step into the locker rooms, so you'll have to scroll around to get a feel for those. The ride was great and I appreciate how much the person celebrating 300 rides was shouted out! Definitely remnants of a great community. I understand that lighting is a critical part of the spin class experience and I am no stranger to numerous light changes that can happen in a given class. I really enjoyed the cascading effect of the lights on the roof. However, I had not experienced something that I saw in city cycle and that is abrupt, flashing strobe lights. As someone that does not live with photosensitivity, I still found myself having to sit in the saddle and recover from that. It was very uncomfortable. I don't believe there are any warnings on the website or in the studio, so if you are sensitive to flashing lights, I would not suggest taking a class here. read more

If you're new to indoor cycling, I recommend arriving 15 minutes early and asking for help with setting/using the bikes and clipping in/out. I had been to a different cycling studio once before, and I still found Lauren's guidance extremely helpful. Lauren's Sunday class was really fun! The music was a good mix of high energy music, although I wish it was more hip hop/rap (but that's just my preference). The bathroom was small but really clean and had plenty of amenities, including razors, hair pins, hair ties, and tampons. There are foam rollers and yoga mats to use. For the lockers, you can set the code. (Don't bring a lock like me. LOL) If you forget your code, the front desk has a master key. I found street parking about a block and a half away, and it seemed plentiful on a Sunday morning. I'm excited to come back for more classes, and I'm really hoping that they open a second location in West Seattle. *pray hands* The employees are super friendly and helpful. They are very responsive via Facebook and have answered all of my annoying questions. =) They provide shoes for free. But if you have your own shoes, their pedals are Look Delta on one side and 2-hole SPD on the other (not SPD-SL). I've seen a classmate use the shoes without socks (ew), so wear the shared shoes at your own risk. read more

However I absolutely love City Cycle Seattle and they deserve all the 5 star reviews they've received so feel totally compelled to write this! The owner Lauren is an amazing instructor and her studio is staffed with talented instructors and staff. Everyone from the staff to the members are all incredibly welcoming and is a true no-judgement community. I've been a member for a few years now and am super impressed by the classes they offer, the quality of their equipment, the cleanliness of the cycle gym and their web interface for scheduling classes! For those who've never taken a spin class - and may be a little intimidated - yes, the classes are hard - but you can cycle at your own pace if you want and it is by far the best cardio workout you'll ever experience. Came in for my first spin class since I was pregnant, 3 years ago, AT LEAST. Needless to say, I cried to myself when they turned off the lights near the end of the class. Not from pain & suffering (though I was suffering), but from joy at being back in a community of (mostly) women, cycling in unison, doing something great for themselves and with each other. Pretty sure Leah was the instructor of "Sunday school"... she played great music, was peppy without a hint of saccharine, and had some sweet dance moves off the bike too lol. Favorite cycle studio that I've been to!! I go to a different gym (I need an open gym option) but occasionally do a classpass month that I mostly spend on City Cycle. Their classes are super high energy and really fun, no matter my mood (ready to kick ass, hung over, out of shape, sore - I've tried them all ha ha). They also seem to have a great culture and events for their regulars. I do spin pretty regularly at my current gym and City Cycle still kicks my butt every time! So I agreed to go to a cycling class at this is a relatively new boutique cycling studio in the Greenwood area. For those of you that like cycle studios like Flywheel and Soul Cycle, city cycle fills a void in the area no longer requiring you to commute all the way downtown. Schedule: Scheduling was easy. Go online, signups and pick your class. When you walk in they will have your name written down , a quick signature and you are ready for class. Easy peasy. Facilities: The space is clean and open. Lockers are available (no need to bring a combination lock). There is an area to fill your water bottles, and the bathrooms have shower facilities as well as all of the toiletries you will need. Unlike some of the studios downtown there is street parking available as Wells as parking in the Fred Meyer parking lot. The Class: The bikes are really tight (that's a good thing). That feel brand new almost like u are the first on to ride them. The studio is well lit with lights that change color. The majority of class is conducted in the dark. In my class the instructor catered the pace of the class to the music. She certainly brought a lot of energy. I think the greatest thing about this studio is that they do themed rides like a One Direction ride or Taylor Swift vs Her Exes. I think it will really keep the class fun even on those days you are lacking motivation. Allin all I certainly recommend the studio and I am.anxious to try out one of those themed rides. read more

The staff here is really friendly and welcoming, the studio is nice, and the prices are on the more reasonable end compared to some of the other spin studios in Seattle. I've taken a couple of the instructors now and some are definitely more challenging than others and each definitely has their own style. The studio is nice and the locker area is probably the roomiest and open I've seen. The actual spin room is fun and they did a really good job with the lighting system and setting themselves apart in that sense. I like that they always have a variety of theme rides here and also appreciate the fact that they offer an extended ride on the weekend. Totally hooked on City Cycle, I've taken indoor spin classes many other places but this is by far my favorite! Every instructor is better than the last, the music is awesome and the studio is super clean! If you don't have your own spin shoes they let you borrow theirs for no additional charge which is super nice compared to the places that do add on a fee but they're also happy to let you use your own. I only live a few blocks away so I've never had a reason to use their showers but they have every amenity you could ever need, dry shampoo, hair dryers, Bobby pins etc read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone was to new riders -- not only were the front desk staff super friendly, but the instructor was really personable too! The class itself was good and challenging. The class I took was a "choreographed" style session, which seems to be popular in Seattle. Before I took a class at City Cycle, I didn't think I really enjoyed spinning. I had done it a few times when I lived in Alaska and it was ok but I felt I could get a better cardio work out running on the treadmill. However, my fiancé and I decided to check it out when it opened and after the first class we were hooked. We normally take Lauren's class but we have been to Cheney's class as well and both girls are amazing instructors. The music is upbeat and keeps you motivated and the lighting is a fun touch. Both girls were great about guiding you through the workout calling out the choreography as well as words of encouragement. The thing that set this cycle studio apart for me is the fact they don't use computers that count your calories, rpm's, or any of that stuff. You just ride to the music. In previous classes I have taken on bikes with computers, I felt the computers were more distracting than anything else. Watching the calories and trying to get the rpm's to match where the instructors were suggesting they be took the focus away from the ride which made it less fun and ultimately a less intense workout. At City Cycle you just ride to the music and I love that. It really is YOUR 45 minutes. The whole studio is clean and modern including the bathrooms which have a blow dry bar, showers, and anything else you might need to get ready after a class. I can honestly say I look forward to class every week. It's a fun 45 minutes and a great workout! If I didn't have to drive in from Bellevue I would definitely be going a few times a week! I went to CityCycle and let me just say this is one of the most well designed and fun cycling studios I've ever been to! Lauren and the other instructors are incredibly genuine, energetic and funny. They make you feel totally welcome no matter your cycling skill set. I took a class- only my third one ever- and I was living and dying all at the same time. Intense workout but the music and the beats and the vibe of the room keep you pushing for more! I was sore for three days but oddly enough wanted to go again LOL. CityCycle has a personal feel unlike some other corporate cycle chains. If you are a spin master or a total beginner I highly recommend checking out CityCycle for a kick-ass experience. I took the 1 hour extended ride class here via classpass. Everyone working here was so welcoming, from the front desk staff to the spin instructor. The facilities are modern and very clean. The bathroom has everything from showers to hairdryers to mouthwash to razors and hair ties. The spin studio has some awesome lights on the ceiling and back of the room that light up with the beats of the music. The style of this class was more "pick your own resistance": more along the lines of SoulCycle than Flywheel if you're familiar with both formats. I feel more challenged going to flywheel but it was an overall pleasant experience and I'll be back! Tip: there's a underground retail parking garage connected to the building. I ended up parking in a neighborhood nearby and saw the parking lot as I walked to the studio. read more
