The double-decker Starcade was the best in the 80s, always luring us out of the Space Mountain line (back then, we'd rarely wait if the line made it "outside"). My games of choice were Rally X and Tron. Hell, even the escalators were fun. Once separated from your friend, you had to search for them- sometimes you would catch them coming up as you were going down. Trust me, before smartphones this was considered fun. As passholders, it wasn't uncommon for us to go to Disneyland in the late 80s just to play air hockey, because they had a bank of old-school, heavy, air hockey tables. [That might sound crazy now, but in the pre-DCA days, we could tell the parking booth we were dropping someone off, tear the windshield marker off, and park just 100 feet away from the turnstiles to get in.] It will always be a special place because it was the setting for two of our home movies, one being "Compatibility Report" in which I type in the names of Joe and myself only to be called a homophobic slur from the robot. The other was a parody of "Rainman" where Joe helps me beat PacMan (and then I teach him how to kiss). Note to self: maybe I am gay.

Thrill It Fun Center - Laser tag score board

We never felt rushed, even though they were clearly busy. The birthday party itself went incredibly smoothly. Our party host, Christopher, was absolutely phenomenal. He was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly. While every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful, Christopher truly stood out and made the experience exceptional. The staff was always nearby to help with decorations, setup, and packing up, and they constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. It made the entire day feel stress free. Most importantly, the kids had an amazing time, especially with the laser tag and the Ballocity area. We are so happy we chose this venue and would 100% recommend it to anyone planning a birthday party.

Thrill It is a fun little spot for kiddos - depending on how busy it is though - can be a hit or miss. Luckily, the place wasn't as packed when we stopped by. Prices are decent - you can pay per activity, or buy the Thrill Pass for $29 - which includes one of each of the activities they have, as well as either Arcade bucks, or Claw Zone tokens - I opted for the latter, since it gives me something to do while the nephews play. The claw machines are such a scam, lol. I get that they have to make money - and can't just give stuff away, but the claws barely have any grip! The prizes are pretty awesome, though - I wanted both a stuffed Yoshi and stuffed Pikachu... Anyway, nephews left happy - and we finished up with everything with just a few minutes to spare to make it over to our movie.

They have a great variety, and the claw isn't weak, although it did take a few times on some machines to get a winning, I think that could be from the prize being a little heavy. Overall, I think the price is good a dollar per try, they had good music going on, a good amount of customers in there, even though it's in a mall that's slowly closing down. Me and my daughter had a great time, we probably spent over an hour there.

This is located within the Westminster mall, on the second floor occupying a pretty large space. I came to this location because the Groupon I had only worked here and not at the Alhambra location. The worker at the location was nice and took care of my Groupon. She gave us a basket for our tokens. She mentioned that this is probably the largest Kawaii Klaws location out of all the another areas. There are easily 30+ different claw machines in this location. There was enough variety in plushies among the machines, but I wish they had more as there were a lot of commonalities among Sanrio and a lot of bunny inspired plushies. We left with 4 plushies on this visit, the staff working their was friendly and she said she loved my bf's and my energy which I thought was so lovely of her to mention...I asked her name but forgot but she was really sweet. If you're looking for a place to kill time and want to try and score some cute plushies this is the place!

The mini-golf course is enormous, it feels like it never ends, which made it even more fun. There are also plenty of snack and food options to choose from. It's always clean, there are many decent fast meal options, and it feels relaxing under the palm trees on springy days. Inside, you have so many options to game--from Mario Brothers to Space Invaders. You can fall down a video game rabbit hole here. Also, the bumper cars are lit up and Lazer Tag is calling all players. There's a cafeteria-style "common hall" serving up pizza, nachos, hot dogs, fries, and bevvies. Outside, the bumper boats are a refreshing way to cool down. You can see that the staff works hard at maintaining the grounds. There's always someone working on the many pools and water features when I go. Overall, the greens are in good shape. Sure, a ball may stick, but it's a game. Mulligans and astro turf hiccups are par for this course. Want to practice random kindness? If you see a bottle on the ground, feel free to recycle in the receptacle placed by the tee box. It's nice that they thought to have as many receptacles as they did. It really helps keep the place tidy. The staff is young & laid back yet attentive. One clean sweep across all 4 courses at the opening of each AM shift, however, could help keep it 100% litter-free. See, I warned you--I had nothing but good things to say about Camelot Golfland. Will be back! Once I get the go again from my Sir Lancelot to brave the journey to Anaheim, we'll return for a 6-minute tournament to ride the Go Carts like chariots.
