It's back! The night skies and tom sawyers island lakefront are taken over by mickeys imagination. The nostalgia runs deep with this show. Two showtimes nightly. Dinner packages available at various park restaurants with different viewing areas and price points. Definitely worth if you want a great view unobstructed but you will get a bit wet from the spray of water throughout the show. We tried two areas on different nights and still got sprayed. Reserved seating areas involve sitting on the ground only. So pack ur blanket and cushions. If opting out of dinner package there are a lot of standing areas but it does get very crowded. Plan to save your spot early. If you're not really into it it's a great time to ride haunted mansion nearby. The wait wasnt very long during the first showing. read more

Fantasmic! is a show I've enjoyed through the years, but often I don't stop to enjoy as it can be very crowded to find a spot. I recommend the Fantasmic! dining packages if you can afford the splurge and find a opening via the Disneyland App. Through the years, my favorite has been Blue Bayou and the seated area has been great. I have seen this show many times over the years. Fantasmic! has been going on since the 90s. But this was the first time for me seeing it up close. I had breakfast at the River Belle Terrace and received a ticket for premium seating for the show. Later that evening, I was able to return and grab a seat in a roped off area in front of the Rivers of America. Fantasmic! is a nighttime show at Disneyland that takes place on the Rivers of America and features multiple Disney characters, fireworks, water effects, pyrotechnics, lasers, music and audio-animatronic. The show is about Mickey Mouse battling some of the Disney villains. At the end of the show, many Disney characters from over the years celebrate on the Mark Twain boat. During May & June of 2022, I got to see this show a few times. It was chock full of captivating entertainment in the 25 minute show! I can't recall seeing it years ago, although I'm sure I did! After being at Disneyland all day, it was hard to stick around until 9PM! When I came to that show, I had to arrive early and hold my spot. I tried on other nights to show up a half hour prior to the start and there seemed to be no room available to squeeze in! One night I watched the second show at 10:30PM and if you time it just right, you can nab a spot as people are leaving! If you want to see this show, it is in Disneyland Park along the shore of the Rivers of America in Frontierland to New Orleans Square. There are two General Viewing areas, one is just set to the right of the stage and there's another section is on the bridge over Pirates of the Caribbean. If you want to purchase a dining package, you can buy them at: Blue Bayou, Hungry Bear, and River Belle Terrace. Each one has a specific viewing area. I did not buy a Dining Package, I just took my chances finding a place to watch. TIP: Magic Key and Disney Visa discounts apply to all dining packages, but the two cannot be used together. Magic Key and Disney Visa discounts apply to all dining packages, but the discount won't apply to the upgraded portion of your bill. For example, if you booked the Upgraded River Belle Terrace package at 8pm, you will receive your discount on the $45 per person portion, but not the $15 upgrade per person. Summed up, it is a voyage through Mickey Mouse's imagination/dream that culminates in a battle against the Disney Villains. Some featured movie scenes are from Fantasia, Aladdin, The Lion King, Dumbo, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and Pirates of the Caribbean. You will see Mickey, animatronics, projections, fireworks, live performers, water effects, fire, laser, lighting effects, decorated rafts with live performers. Although Maleficent is a scary and towering 45 ft dragon, it really is cool to behold! I especially loved seeing so many characters on the Mark Twain River Boat at the end! Such a fun way to end the show! May 2024, Additional Note: Currently, the show is running again after the Maleficent Dragon caught on fire in 2023. The dragon is no longer part of the show, it is just Maleficent as herself. There's a few other minor changes to the show. When I was an annual pass member this was one of my must sees. When Mickey says, "This is my imagination" it made me cry because he was talking control and he wasn't going to let the lies of the enemy vanquish him. It really meant something to me when I was starting my career in TV production and I felt I had no power over my life. But now, like everything else at Disneyland, it's just really miserable and mismanaged. If you don't sit there for hours before the show, you just won't get a good view and even if you do, you still probably wont get a good view. I saw pretty much nothing but the back of a tree. Put that aside and they've changed the show. I knew hey had to rewrite it because the dragon can't spit out fire ever since it immolated during a show, but it's not the same. The music isn't the same for half of it and they also didn't have the characters on the steamboat at the end. The only thing I could see was the fight between Peter Pan and Captain Hook. So disappointing. You're better off skipping this and seeing the fireworks on Main Street because at least you can see that show from anywhere in the park. read more

Disney markets this as a fantasmic show package but if they cancel the show with no notice and no bad weather, they will claim that you paid only for food and not the show. Basically you're paying $64 for a salad, coke, and a meager meal. Worse for kids when it's $32 for fruit and Mac and cheese. Don't buy the package. My guy and I went on 8/7/25. He asked a cast member if it would be okay for us to stand in front the small gate by the waterfront during the show. They said yes. We had been standing there for about 10 minutes when a different cast member asked if it was just the two of us. We said yes.. (I was sure they were kicking us out). He the proceeded to say "Follow me". He led us to the front row of folding chairs and told us we could sit there!!! (His back was bothering him and my injured foot was hurting) We didn't get the cast members name but we were SO GRATEFUL for those seats!!! read more

Wow! I've been to Disneyland a few times, but my family and I finally had a chance to watch Fantasmic! during our stay on a Tuesday evening. For lunch, we ended up eating at River Belle Terrace, overlooking Rivers of America. While we were looking at the menu, the team member had offered us a dining package, which would provide us tickets for a designated viewing area to see Fantasmic. We ended up purchasing tickets for [3]. The tickets provided us with a arrival window between 8:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. The entrance is towards the Haunted Mansion, off to the right. Several team members guided us and there were multiple check points with cast members viewing our tickets. The show was amazing! My daughter really enjoyed it, as did I. The theme is Mickey's dream turns into a nightmare, however, Mickey has the magic to overcome it! You'll see a wide variety of characters during the Fantasmic! show such as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, and so much more! You may even catch a fire breathing dragon towards the end with some fireworks! The projections are pretty cool to watch and the floats are fantastic! I'd highly recommend if you're visiting Disneyland for a few days to watch Fantasmic! read more

So Fantasmic! is finally back! Really happy about this. Seems to have a bit of improvements to projections, as I've seen the show from 3 different angles, and they've all been good. There's many ways to see this show: you can get a dining package (each location has different designated viewing areas), line up early, or just show up and find a spot around showtime. The earlier you are, the better your spot! If you're in the front, they do advise that you may get wet, but I only experienced a light misting. The show is awesome! You get to watch Mickey dream a fantastic dream, then slip into a possible nightmare, but he realizes he has the magic to overcome it! Show features live characters, lights and projections on waterfronts, boats and acrobatics, a fire breathing dragon, and fireworks! Note! There are pretty scary moments for little ones, so just be mindful they can be frightened by some instances. Loving that this show is back, and I recommend taking the time to see it! read more

Love this show-makes me smile and sing along. We decided to get the Hungry Bear dining package this time since it lets you into reserved seating areas. The other 2 packages are more pricy and offers a better viewing but frankly, I wouldn't know the difference. The meal we got was pretty good and with the seating voucher, a pretty good deal IMO, especially with the magic key discount. The trick is getting the reservation! Lucked out and was able to get one (started trying 60 days out). Went to pick up the meals at Hungry Bear at the reserved time. There was a CM standing at the pick up line who checked us in and directed us to the pick up window on the left side. Got the 1/2 BBQ chicken which came with steamed broccoli, potato salad, s'more dessert and a beverage of choice (I got hot chocolate because it was a chilly day). The chicken wasn't bad, a little bland without the sauce. We were full and satisfied after eating. We got vouchers with the meal-which assigned us to the blue and yellow seating area. Told us to return to the Harbor Gallery restaurant at 8pm. However we showed up at 7:30 and people were starting to line up already. All three dining packages lined up there in separate lines and CM let us in a little after 8 pm according to your package. Not sure why there was yellow and blue because we were all lumped together. We got the area to the left. I prefer sitting (we all sit on the ground) midway up because I hate getting wet. Still really good view though. Anyway, highly recommend the Hungry Bear dining package for ease of getting seating. Meal isn't bad and the show is awesome!! Mickey vs evil forces in projections and live action. The part where the actors float by singing romantic songs from the movies always brings tears to my eyes. A must see for all first timers and regulars alike. read more

What a fun show involving characters, water, animated projections, light and sound! I remember this show from when I was little and now I get to enjoy this re-imagined show. If you are at the park early, you can grab a fast pass for preferred viewing. If not, you can try to squeeze in somewhere around the river of America. This is a battle of Mickey's imagination. This show takes you through different characters and images from different Disney movies. It features fun songs that will definitely have you bopping along. If you are close to the river, you will definitely get a little wet but not soaked. There is just so much going on during the show. All the lights from the projections and the characters in costume. There are characters on the island, characters on the projections and characters sailing by on the river. It's very exciting to see the pirate ship and the acrobatics. I love the journey through different films. A slight warning: there are also villains in this show. There is a battle between the villains and Mickey. This is majestic and powerful. Of course Mickey wins! Mickey always wins. I'm the end there is the celebration of all characters on the riverboat. There is lots of music and singing and celebration. It's a mesmerizing show. Fantasmic on the Rivers of America is also a prime spot to watch the fireworks show, then you can stay to catch the second showing of Fantasmic. I like standing behind the sound booth to catch the show, but just heed the guest control staff's warning on where you can and can't stand or sit to view the show. People usually start saving their spot at least an hour in advance so don't expect to find a front row seat 15 minutes before show time, you gotta get there early. I liked the old Fantasmic better. The new one is luke warm at best and there's no wow factor and the crowd reaction shows it. If you've never seen Fantasmic before then you should see it, but if you haven't seen the new version don't, it's underwhelming. The volume was really low, the songs were revamped but they sound like I'm listening to a boring love song versus a power ballad from the 90's. The Jungle Book monkey section was my favorite but they've changed it and it's not exciting to watch at all. I literally felt dead inside after watching the new version the other night. Even with the new sections with the more recent film characters and themes it was lacking. read more

FANtastically FANtasmic-key ....... This show is absolutely and exquisitely amazing in all it's grandeur from Mickey Mouse coming out to start the show, to the end 28 minutes later. Favorites abound in this show. You see it, you name it, and any Disney movie has been represented: Dumbo, Snow White, Maleficent's Dragon, PIRATES (OTC), Lion King, all the Damsels to the Champions. It was simply magnificent. It was really nice to see young children call out most of the Disney characters that were older then them. This is a MUST-SEE show. If you have not seen it, go see it. We basically got into Disneyland around 9:30am and went straight to the machines to grab two tickets for the show on Monday, November 19th at 9pm. I guess the tickets acted as FastPasses and we got in line at 8pm to stake out a spot. In my old age, I hate waiting. So waiting an hour plus to see a show was not something I enjoyed. The show itself was fine. Though it may be scary for kids as there's a lot going on. Both visually and audibly. It may be too much with the fire, gun shots, etc. If you're close to the front, get ready to be misted on. You can get wet from all the water effects. For me, I would have preferred going on a ride instead of watching this show. It just wasn't worth the wait. read more

THIS SHOW HAS IT ALL. Water works, characters, music, acrobatics, special effects, a thrilling story, SICK PYROTECHNICS, and fireworks! PRO-TIP: 1) GET A FAST PASS FOR THIS. You get priority seating for this show, and I recommend, as most shows are, to go dead center (just be wary that you might get a bit wet from the mist/feel the heat of the fire). 2) Half an hour is NOT enough to line up for this show EVEN IF YOU HAVE A FAST PASS. There's already a long line for fast pass holders to get in at that point. So get ready to wait over an hour earlier for your show to start. When you do so, just grab a good seat and post on your social media, chat with your friends, or play some mobage. I really, really enjoyed this show. They project holographs onto the water and you watch the entire story play out. Characters will come out on stage, sing, dance, etc. This show also ingeniously uses the Mark Twain river boats etc, so that all the characters come out and it showcases their songs and stories. You get enthralled with what is going on at the center and then BAM the characters come out from the side on the boats. I really loved the Pirates of the Caribbean part. Super action packed and I got to hand it to the actors. It was also super cool because the black light made some of them look undead. The part with Maleficent transforming into the dragon is super cool and I thought that the fire on top of the water was really neat as well. So, so much fire. You can see that no expense was spared with this show. It's super nice that at the end, all of the characters that you'd see in Fantasyland (princes/princesses, Mad Hatter, Alice, etc), Mickey and his buddies, and the Toy Story characters end the show and wave to everyone. On January 1, 2016, Disneyland shut down several attractions which operate in and around the Rivers of America to allow ground to be broken where the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is currently being built. On opening day's 62nd Anniversary, Fantasmic reopened in the park with some improved special effects and new characters. In addition, Disney has installed a Fast Pass location near the Mark Twain launch for reserved viewing or you can make reservations for one of three Dinner Packages which gets you a reserved view of Fantasmic. On the day the better half and I wanted to go, the only Dinner Package ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/fantasmic-anaheim-4?select=aFr_uFISfyOuMSc1WAb_zA ) available was the On-The-Go Package at Hungry Bear Restaurant. After mulling over the menu and price for a bit, we decided it was worth the extra money ($29.99 per person with 15 percent off for passholders) to get a good spot for the show. When you arrive for your reservation (7:00pm), you asked for your name, which of the four entrees you would like to eat and you are given your ticket for Fantasmic once you pay for your meal. I would recommend bringing your email confirmation with you, but it wasn't needed when we ate here. After we paid, we were directed to Window 1, showed our receipt and waited for our order. Since we couldn't line up until 10:00pm, this gave us two hours to kill so we jumped on the Disneyland Railroad and took a ride around the park. My suggestion is seeing the second show because it is less crowded and you won't be packed in like sardines. We were the first people to line up and Laina managed to talk a cast member into giving us a spot on the stairs directly in front of the show which was almost like sitting in a chair. The show next takes you "under the sea" to the worlds of Find Nemo and The Little Mermaid. The sequence ends with Monstro from Pinnochio making a "big splash." Disney really knows how to put on a show! I am so glad the fams and I stayed for this and we were able to snag a table at one of the surrounding restaurants. The show started on time and it was a mixture of special effects, pyrotechnics, character dancing and amazing music. I was thoroughly impressed. The only thing we regret was that we did not get a closer seat to see all the action. I loved seeing the characters on the boat and seeing cool holograms of Disney scenes. This was certainly a beautiful end to a long, exhausting but fun-filled day. If you are thinking about if you should stay for this portion of the park's action... don't think twice and do it! It was pretty incredible =) I was kind of sad that Disneyland stopped doing the light parade, but this totally made up for it. This was everything I wanted to see and more. Very often, when talking about Disneyland, the phrase 'Magic Kingdom' gets thrown about, likely to the point where it loses all meaning and devolves into simple, advertising buzzwords. You walk around the massive crowds, braving lines that take over an hour to navigate for a quick ride to make your kid happy, and pay way too much for food that isn't worth the cost of the added sales tax. It's very easy to become jaded and see the trappings of 'grandeur' and 'magic' as fluffy window dressing designed to sell a cheap product. Then you see something like Fantasmic. You see something beautiful and amazing. You see pyrotechnics, animation projected on a sparkling waterfall, dancers twirling by on floating rafts, and a pirate battle pierce through the fog to thundering music and booming cannon fire. The time, effort, and care that has been put into this production is insane and the level of dedication the actors put into their performances is intense and exciting to behold. To set the stage, I have not actually sat and watched Fantasmic for about 15+ years. It's extremely popular and finding a good seat to watch the action can be difficult. With most of the show being set on the Rivers of America, if you're not up front, it's possible to miss the bottom half of the show. That may sound a little ridiculous, but when Beauty and the Beast float by doing a Waltz, all you may see is the top of a furry head while listening to their song ... and that can suck! So, when the time came for my son to see Fantasmic for his first time, I wanted to be sure that it was special and that he had a chance to take everything in. To enable this, we got the Blue Bayou Fantasmic Dining Package which included dinner at one of the best restaurants in both parks. The charge was minimal, about an extra $5-10/person from the normal menu prices there, and the food was outstanding as always. When we left, we got passes to sit in the reserved section set aside those who got similar packages from other restaurants at the park (along with a butt pillow to almost comfortably sit on). This, by the way, caused my only bad thing to note about this experience. When we arrived and our time to get our seats came, we were allowed to go and choose our place first because Blue Bayou had the more expensive of package deals. We were told to move forward and park our stroller in a side area before going to our section, which we did. Unfortunately, as we were doing so, they allowed everyone else to charge in and they quickly sprinted past us to take up the best seats next to the railing and away from anything that may obstruct the view. Needless to say, this pissed me off. When you pay a lot more to 'guarantee' a specific place to sit, it kind of sucks when you aren't allowed the time to do as they requested or even a warning that we should make a mad dash because others would be hot on our tail to push us out of the way. Thankfully, the area right on the water was spacious and even though we were up against a lamp post with crates at the base, we were still able to watch about 90% of the show without hinderance. And while I have already noted how brilliant, and yes, magical this show is to me even today, know that the look of wonder in my son's eyes as he silently watched in rapt fascination at the spectacle before him, mouthing the words to the songs he loves, and clapping in excitement as Jack Sparrow clashed swords in the riggings of the Columbia, was enough to almost bring me to tears as I remembered how much I enjoyed the show as a child when it first came out as well as knowing that he thought that Fantasmic was just as awesome as everything else he loves in the Magic Kingdom. Fantasmic=fantastic! Kind of went through withdrawals when the show went away, but I'm so glad it's back! I'm excited to see that it's changed a bit and a little more colorful and high tech. A bit sad to see Peter Pan go, but I guess they need to change with the times and take advantage of what the newer generations grew up with. Go watch it! read more

Can you believe that Fantasmic! has been around for over 20 years now? Since its original debut on May 13, 1992, it has gone through multiple re-habs and changes--most notably, for me, was the absence of the barge-saddled, 20-foot-tall Ursula (she's still video-projected upon the water spray, thankfully)--but it's still an amazing, must-see show while visiting the Park. The downside--at least in my opinion--was always having to camp out along the Rivers of America (sometimes three hours in advance) in order to ensure a primo viewing spot for the show. Some Guests may still take that approach--and if it works for you, great!--but I have another idea... If you call the Disneyland Resort (up to 30 days in advance), you may reserve "Premium Viewing" seating for Fantasmic!. Yes, it costs a little extra (I'm sure you're not surprised), but it's worth it. What you get are preferred-perspective, cushioned seats in an elevated section of New Orleans Square near the French Market Restaurant and Café Orleans. You don't have to worry about planning your evening of attractions, rides, and parades around Fantasmic! itself. Instead, your reserved seats will be patiently waiting for YOU! And not only that. This "Premium Viewing" package is also paired with a Dessert Sampler--seriously, more chocolatey, sugary goodness than any one person should ever need in a single sitting--and your choice of soda, bottled water, and/or hot chocolate. All of this and a comfortable, relaxing view of the show to boot. And there is even more coolness: afterward, if it's time for the Fireworks show, stay seated. You may watch from there. This 20 or so minute live event is a must catch, a must see, a must to check out when you are at the happiest place on earth!! First time I saw Fantasmic, I was beyond hooked! The show is done right in the Rivers of America! Mickey is morphed into this worldly being with magical powers as he battles the evil queen and the fiery dragon! Along the way, all the Disney characters come out to the tunes of Fantasmic! Be sure to catch a fast pass to this amazing event. The kiosk is located right by Big Thunder Ranch. The best view is right in front of Pirates of the Caribbean. Pretty much any place nearby the front view of the River is perfect. Jacket or coat up, especially during the colder winter months. The beautiful fireworks, the water displaying the animation, it is all beyond unbelievable. They will cancel at last minute especially if the weather is not so great. People usually come and sit to grab a spot very early. If you want to wait that long in between shows, by all means do so! Fantasmic deserves 5 and a half stars. It may be one of the best Disneyland shows of all time...up there with the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade. Fantasmic has been going strong since 1992. That must mean it is one hell of a show. I could watch Fantasmic over and over and over. In fact I have done just that over the years. The show has it all...fireworks, lasers, magic, mystery and a 40 foot dragon. The people who brought this show to life thought of every single way in which to use what they were given. Who would have thought to use the Mark Twain as part of the show? Gotta give it up for the people who thought that up. I know some people complain about the crowd control but how would you take care of the thousands of people who watch the show every night? There are only a few ways in and out of that part of the park and the two main ways are through Adventureland and Frontierland. If you just let all those people go it would be a total mess every night. The flip side to it would be doing something like they do for World Of Color and giving people Fastpass tickets to come back and see the show. I would totally support this idea because it always used to bug me when people camped out for 6 hours to get the front row...jeeze you are at Disneyland go enjoy yourself. Save yourself some time and go to the later show of the evening...in the busy season there is a 9:00 show and then a show at 10:30. Watch the fireworks on Main Street and then after they are over stroll on over to the Rivers of America and get a decent seat for Fantasmic! There is no set time when the Fantasmic! fireworks show starts. It's usually between 8:30 and 9:25, depending on the weather. It's amazing the length and breadth of this fireworks display and it's every night, shot over Cinderella's castle and set to theme music from Disney. It must cost a pretty penny to put on this elaborate show, 7 days a week. Combined with all the terrific rides and attractions, you won't mind the price of a ticket or a year-long pass to Disneyland. There's a lot of value in a ticket and this fireworks display is one example. read more

This is almost like a right of passage if you live in SoCal. I've seen this show ever since I was young and I still can't get over how great it is. This will definitely get you in a great mood leaving disney. Unlike disney world, they do not have stadium seating. The floor is your seat. Unless you're eating in the restaurant above. Try to be there an hour before because it gets crowded really fast. Must see if you haven't seen it. have fun!! read more

This is my all-time favorite show at Disneyland. I find it thoroughly captivating, it's just amazing! I've seen it at least 30+ times. It just never gets old. I usually go to the 10:30 showing and I'm able to get a good viewing spot by arriving like 40 minutes earlier. What will you see at this show? *Jungle scenes where King Louie dances on floating barges with other monkeys along with a giant 100 foot version of Kaa *Pinocchio puppets with two female marionettes powered by fiber optic springs *Onscreen projections showing scenes with Dumbo, Jiminy Cricket, Sorcerer Mickey, Ursula, Magic Mirror, and Chernabog from Fantasia *Peter Pan fighting Captain Hook on a large ship with a crocodile chasing after the ship *Small floats with Belle and the Beast, Ariel and Prince Eric, and Snow White and her Prince *Wicked Queen transforming into a hag and talking to the Magic Mirror *Malificient turning into a dragon and spewing out flames *Lots of fire on the water *Mickey in his Brave Little Tailor outfit shooting sparks at the dragon *Sorcerer Mickey magically disappearing and now showing up as Mickey Mouse in formal attire *All the Disney characters dancing on the riverboat (sometimes there's rare characters that make appearances like Pocahontas, Genie, and Mulan) There's pretty much everything in the show. Fantasmic is a live action performance that encapsulates the wonderful world of Disney. It features our favorite mouse as he whisks us away into his colorful imagination, only to be ambushed by evil villains. Various appearances from the classic Disney movie characters appear and images from movie scenes are projected on the fan water screen. TIP: If you're sitting/standing near the front you'll likely get wet, so bring a sweatshirt. It's a show that must see if you're visiting the Happiest Place on Earth, so be sure to mark this on your agenda. :) Disneyland usually has two showing of this and while most families prefer the earlier one, I'd advise guests to reserve a Fast Pass for the second one. On my most recent visit I was able to secure a 10:45 showing sometime in the afternoon and even scored a "blue" setting (left middle side of the "stage"). This time slot is a bit crazy because it's right before the 9:30pm fireworks, but after the 11pm "Pain the Night" parade. However, since it's utter chaos Disney guests can't camp out to secure prime seating, which means you don't have to wait for 3 hours to get the best seat! Woo! read more

Have you ever watched a movie, tv show, or show that touched your heart, made you have tears in your eyes, called it your favorite, and could watch over and over again? Yes. Mine is Fantasmic! For those that don't know Fantasmic, it is nothing like World of Color. It's a show that features live actors, fireworks, water effects, fire projections on to large mist screens, and music. Since I was a young child my mom always took the time to take my to Disneyland and ever since in 1992 when Fantasmic debuted I've been in love with it since. My mom videotaped our stay at Disneyland esp. F! and I even broke one of my VHS trips because I practically watched it to death (playing, rewinding, fast forwarding), lol. That's how much I love this show! Out of the whole show, there are two scenes that I just love. First is a scene where King Louie and monkeys are on rafts dancing to jungle music. The beat of the music and the dancing gets to me in a way that if I could get up and dance I would. Second is a scene where Steamboat Willie steers the Mark Twain Riverboat and has many Disney characters dancing on the boat doing a ribbon routine. As the scene starts I get tears in my eyes. The music just touches me. With both of these scenes I always dream sometimes that I could be the monkey dancing on a raft or a character on the boat. Boy that would be a dream come true if that could happen, I would take it off my bucket list. Unfortunately I don't get to see Fantasmic as much as I want to but if I'm in the mood I just turn on my iPod and crank up the F! Soundtrack! Some friends think its weird I listen to Disneyland music but I could care less. I like it, I'll listen to it. This is a must see show when you come to Disneyland! It's been open since 1992 and they haven't changed the show, so it's that Great! P.S. Here are some seating tips. -There are two showings of F! I would recommend going to the second showing because you can wait for the first showing to end and grab the guest's seats when they leave. You wait less than an hour for the second show. Make sure to bring a blanket or a large bag to sit on if you don't want to put your bum on the ground. -If your willing to shell out cash, want a dessert sampler and premium seating, call Disney reservation line at (714) 781-4400 for more info and prices. My first visit to Disneyland ended with Fantasmic. Before watching it, it was described as a light show over the water. Didn't sound too impressive. But boy was I wrong. Get up close and enjoy the excitement as Mickey conjures up his crazy dreams, featuring all your favorite characters. Really, they're pretty much all there. Fantasmic! It's freakin' fantastic! What is not to like about this show? In its 20th year at Disneyland, it still ranks #2 (Electrical Parade is #1 for me) in all time best shows that Disney has had at the park since I've been coming there (and that's at least 20 years). I never get tired of seeing this show and sometimes wish I could get it on DVD and watch it at home over and over again. Something about the music (kudos to Bruce Healey the composer) that just makes you feel better about everything in life. You get to see all your beloved Disney characters in one show (my favorite are King Louie's neon dancing Monkey's). A touch of fireworks, a touch of lasers and the best aspect is that they project parts of the show on a screen made of water jets. Very innovative for its time. I also love that they incorporate both the Mark Twain and Columbia ships into the show. At the heart of the show is is the theme of using your imagination and that anything you dream is possible. What a great way to convey that to kids, but adults also (we do need reminding at times). As a seasoned Disneyland goer I always opt to see the second show. I just can't resolve waiting 2-3 hours for a seat when I can just show up 5 minutes before the end of the first show and just swoop in and grab a seat. I don't like sitting directly near the water since (a) Have you seen the water in the daytime? Eww, no thanks don't want that in my face and (b) by that time its usually pretty cold and I don't want to catch one! My preference is the seating at the Riverbelle Terrace. If you get the seats closest to Pirates of the Caribbean that's a primo spot to view if you don't want to stand or sit. If you visit Disneyland, you MUST check this off your to do list before leaving for the day. I demand it! read more

I love Fantasmic more than World of Colors for sure. For one it involves the Disney characters and it has a story and moral (to use your imagination and conquer your dreams). Whenever Mickey gets on the stage and starts doing his dancing and magic, I really deeply and truly in my heart feel like a kid again. I can feel the twinkle come to my eye and I can feel my heart melt when I watch this show. It is accompanied by fireworks and the show presents all of the classic characters and movies by usage of floats. read more

You don't have to wait the hour or two before hand to see this show.. you can easily stand in the far back and still view the show from any angel which unfortunately for a short person as I could not see anything on World of color, I actually saw this show while I was shopping.. then came out to watch the rest. The show was amazing!!! Get the dining fast pass. It's so worth it. We did the dinner at river belle Terrance restaurant to get fast pass tickets for the special viewing area. Got us great seats front and center. Nice thing was that everyone in our section had to stay seated during the show so kids didn't have any trouble seeing over standing adults like at world of color. The story line, music, colors, and characters were amazing. Only negative - The coordination of the entrances was very disorganized. At first there was only 1 place to enter. We had to leave to get water. When we came back that entrance was closed and we had to find the "new" entrance and almost didn't get back in because they were so disorganized. read more

We caught the first show of Fantasmic, not knowing what to expect... and I'm glad to say that the show was fun to watch. Our vantage spot was from the stroller access - though we were standing, we had a good view overall. Basically, Fantasmic is a light and water show overlooking the Rivers of America where Mickey Mouse fights the ancient spirits of evil (in this case, Queen Regina, Ursula, and Maleficent), with special appearances of Peter Pan and company on the S.S. Columbia, and varius cast members on specially festooned versions of the pirate rafts and the Mark Twain Riverboat. The lights and music are amazing to behold, but the big surprise for me was seeing the lifesize version of Maleficent's fire-breathing dragon form on stage. Watching it loose a stream of fire was totally badass, and I'm still wondering how the folks at Disneyland could get it on and off the stage quickly during the show. Great show - definitely worth waiting for at Disneyland! read more
