So stupid. So sophomoric. So amateur. So low budget. So what? My wife's company holiday party was a huge hit thanks to this small and charming theater's production of Santa Conquers the Martians. The theater seated about 70 and was super intimate with the use of the main stage, opposing wall and the seating floor. Audience members were a small part of the show and it was campy as hell. So much fun and a real treat.

It's a quaint little venue. Really tucked away so use GPS or give yourself time to find it. It's pretty plain outside. But I love the art deco style of the interior. We separately agreed the art and decor invoked thoughts of Victor Victoria. (If you haven't seen that movie couldn't recommended it more.) Everyone was nice and seemed to be enjoying themselves. The bathrooms were clean. The prices at the little bar were reasonable. We caught the closing night of Rocky Horror (the play) and it was amazing. Such a fun raucous show. The cast was incredible. Of course Franken-furter is the best role but even our narrator was in rare form. I can't wait to see another show here!

A must see show to start up that Halloween spirit! Maverick theater gives you that retro feeling as soon as you enter the building. Enjoy some beverages in the waiting area along with some great tunes before the show. But don't run away yet! stick around for some everlasting memories with the undead before and after the show if you dare take a chance... If you survive being entertained by a gang of bloody gouls, you will risk the idea of wanting to go back every year. Make sure to scout areas for parking on time or you will miss some crazy fun.

Watching the show Clue was amazing! Love theater is great to get back at. They ask for your COVID Caed as well as masks. The show is hilarious and I will leave you with an itch to figure out some clues ‍

Another great theater company outside the "Hollywooddddd" eco system...Maverick Theater is a small intimate theater in Fullerton CA , staging creative fun "pop culture" theater....By chance discovered their presentation of a camp comedy stage production of Ed Wood's "Plan 9 from Outer Space"....So fun....so creative...I'll definitely be back for future productions...Enjoy the abundance of great restaurant options in Fullerton & afterwards take in a great theatrical show for the price of a movie ticket....

The Maverick Theater is a fantastic little theater in Downtown Fullerton. The Theater sits back on Walnut Ave and is not the easiest to find but is well worth the search to find it. I went here after reading numerous positive reviews for the Night of the Living Dead show they put on around this time of year. I ordered tickets online and was offered a deal to add Plan 9 From Outer Space for only $10 more. Yes, please. Both shows were great as were all of the performers. The staff was great and very helpful. As I had never attended a show here in the past I was confused as to the parking situation but they quickly answered that parking was free anywhere on the street outside. I went to the will call and was able to quickly and efficiently claim by tickets for both shows by simply giving my last name. It was nice to see a place so organized and orderly in getting people their tickets and into the adjacent waiting room. The theater is organized very nicely with a small entrance and will call window right inside. Through the curtain is a waiting room which doubles as a second performance stage. A men and women's restroom is conveniently located on the wall within the waiting room. The entire theater cant hold more than 50-60 people per show which is nice and gives you that intimate feeling when watching. The lighting and decor is nice and they also feature a bar for anyone who needs drinks. The show prices are great as well with performances around $20 and often offering discounts on double feature shows as I took advantage of. All of the cast members did a great job and many of them pulled double duty on the night I went which is a testament of their abilities in their craft. I highly recommend checking out shows here and I will definitely be back soon. Santa Claus Conquers The Martians sounds fantastically funny and I hope to catch that show soon.

After the show...don't dream it; BE it!

She teaches the dance portion and has so much energy, enthusiasm, silliness - she makes dancing technique so accessible to this age, which quite honestly is a bit more harder to captivate since their attention is all over the place. 2. The price/schedules is so amazing. It fits what we need and there are so many class options - including acting, dancing, singing. There's just a lot more than a dance studio..so if my daughter were interested in improv/acting later, then she can easily switch to that or use a makeup token to check it out. 3. The productions and how they showcase their students on stage is genuinely such a huge effort and I'm amazed at how they can do this for hundreds of students across 3 shows - we love it and my daughter has a blast on the big stage, with the stage makeup and showing off their skills. And we also love how the costumes are stage/age appropriate - which honestly is something I've noticed in other dance companies I don't love. Cannot say enough great things about Stagelight. We love it and you will, too!

I don't recommend for very young children.

She advised that my child not return to the theater class - my child was only 6 and was signed up for the appropriate 4-8 year old class. My boy enjoyed going to class, he said he didn't enjoy class ONE time and she ran with that message - I was told not to come back and not to sign him back up next time. She said this to me in front of an audience/parents before (the last day of class) performance. It was very unprofessional to not pull us aside in private to say this. It was disheartening for a mom to see that she was so quick to judge who can stay and who shouldn't. Perhaps, she has limited knowledge of how boys are different than girls but she definitely caters more towards the girls? I'm sorry if my boy was more active and more outspoken than the others. You can tell a lot about a person - have you seen her drive? You definitely don't want your kids near her. Anyway, I've also seen a play here in the past. For the size of the venue, the play was very well organized and professional. All the actors were all very well versed and seasoned. I would go back only to support the plays.

I've been going to shows periodically at the Brea Improv since 1996 (in the old location... so glad…read morethey changed it years ago to where it is now). We've seen big acts like George Lopez all the way to new talent and drag shows. There are big headliners and fun events constantly. Every single one of the events I've been to has been a hit (except one, he was not nearly as funny as on SNL, but that's not Brea Improv's fault). Food is ok, it is not fantastic, but it works. Mainly people are eating just so they don't drink as much. There is a 2 item minimum, so for us non-drinkers, we've had the food more than the alcohol. But the 2 items goes for anything. Pretzel is warm and would be great but gets dried out, still not a bad option if you dip in mustard. Fried pickles are also a fun choice. Salads are pretty good too. Pretty much bar food for meals; sliders, burgers, tacos, pizza. As long as you aren't expecting gourmet, you're good. Desserts are fantastic. Service is actually pretty great considering there are a lot of drinking, crazy people all over the place. You can order through the app and have it delivered, as well, so that comes in handy. One of our most recent favorites was our visit to see the Schitt's Creek Drag Show Brunch. SO MUCH FUN!!! We laughed so much and enjoyed the "ladies" and the cast to the fullest, our bills were a'flyin'!! And our emcee, Epiphany Kali, was gorgeous and completely entertaining!! Parking is easy, there are neighborhoods all around, parking garages, and parking lots. Birch Street area is wonderful for parking, even if you need to walk a bit, it's a breeze and free. Prices are really very decent and you also can enter to win tickets for upcoming shows. Hey, the more people the more laughs, right? Definitely worth it to check out the line-ups often, you'll find someone or some event that either piques your curiosity or floats your boat. Cheers!!
