Dance, Singing, Musical Theater and More! The little one loves coming here. The classea are smaller with low teacher to student ratios. The school promotes the arts with a fun spin. The kids work together for biannual performances. The school has a very positive vibe. I have yet to meet a "dance mom" and haven't experienced any negative vibes. The four year old looks forward to the classes all week. She always has her dance gear and shoes packed and ready to go. The teachers keep the yiunher kids involved and alert the classes run about an hour. Every Summer and Winter the schook puts on a musical in the theater. Each class participates. If your child is in two classes, your child may be participating with multiple parts. Three classes is what the school refers to as the "Tripple Threat" and there are multiple benefits. Love this place!

Love this Performing Arts Studio! Great for young kids to get up, get out, and be creative! We have a 3-year-old daughter who looks forward to going every week! Right now, we are doing Ballet & Tap and she just loves it! She loves showing off her moves when we get home from work. They have classes for all kinds of performance types. (Singing, Dancing, Acting, Improv, etc.) Passionate Fun-Loving teachers, but teachers who teach (even to a 3-year-old) actual performing techniques. Highly recommend!

We have been with this studio for almost five years now. My oldest daughter started in the preschool dance and ballet/tap class when she was not quite 3. We absolutely love Stagelight and I always recommend it to anyone looking for dance classes for their kids. The teachers are wonderful. We have had Miss Darlene, Miss Bonnie, Miss Katy, Miss Lindsey, and Miss Alyssa. During COVID, my daughters continued with the dance classes through zoom and Alyssa was AMAZING. Of all the online classes we experienced when COVID first hit, their dance class was one of the BEST. Alyssa was so attentive to each student during the class and kept my girls engaged and learning through this very difficult time. The teachers really care about the students. They are polished and professional. And I can see that my girls are growing in their skills and still have a deep love for dance. It's a 20 minute drive for us to get to class, but it is so worth it, which is why we've been there for five years and plan to continue with Stagelight for years to come!

The beginner series is a thoughtful introduction, the instructors are compassionate and knowledgeable, and the studio is always clean and welcoming. There are four poles, and while you sometimes share, it's part of the fun! You learn from each other, and the teachers keep everything safe and inclusive at every level. What makes this studio special is the way it builds not just strength, but confidence and connection to your femininity. I've been coming for 2.5 years and have been amazed at how capable I've become and how supported I feel. Jenny, the owner, keeps the curriculum fresh and there are monthly members-only workshops that deepen your practice and teach you the coolest moves. Personally, this studio has been life-changing. After a miscarriage, it gave me a safe place to heal, and years later I was able to celebrate my twin pregnancy here at my baby shower here! It's been a source of strength, joy, and empowerment through every season of my life. If you're on the fence, just try the 3 classes!!! It's not just fitness, it's community and a beautiful way to reconnect with yourself.

I've tried studios other than inversion but the vibe just isn't the same as here. The girls and atmosphere are immaculate. I've never felt so comfortable and confident to just be myself. I'm never scared to try new things here. The staff is professional, energetic, and motivating. They dim the lights upon request during open workouts and often let you choose your own music. If you're looking for a fun hobby then this is it ! Plus my body has never felt stronger ! Thanks to everyone that works here !

Wow, it has been years since I've written a review, yet I feel strongly enough to do so today…read more My daughter has been going to Academy 831 for the past year or so, and she started when she was around 4 years old. In the beginning, I enjoyed having my daughter here because there are big windows where I can see how she is doing, and the place is clean and spacious enough to not feel crowded. That is still the case, and the front staff is very friendly, accommodating, and informative with everything that goes on at this studio. I have had very little interaction with the owner so I can't speak to that, but overall this place seemed like a good fit for the past year or so. However, over the past 6 months or so, I've noticed a change in my child's behavior when it comes to participating in dance class. I believe that difficult situations can make my kid stronger in most regards, so I chose to observe rather than pull her out of dance as soon as she wanted. I am able to take my daughter to dance class every other Wednesday, and what I've observed is a complete lack of empathy, compassion, and kindness from Miss Megan, one of the dance teachers that teaches on Wednesday's from 5-6 pm. Over the course of a few months, I noticed some instances that I kind of brushed off as structure and a part of the growth process; but now that I look back on it, I was so very wrong. Some instances include: when my kid was having a bloody nose before dance class and she wanted to come out to blow her nose during class, Miss Megan did not allow her to. When my kid said she needed to use the restroom, Miss Megan did not allow her to. I have heard Miss Megan say, "you're fine, you don't need your Mommy" on multiple occasions. Yesterday, was my final straw. Yesterday, my kid was having a rough day. She fell during class, and she had a noticeable cry out. She looked like it hurt her to continue. I opened the class door to say "what happened?" Miss Megan said "oh she just fell, she's fine." Did Miss Megan physically walk over to check on her? No. Later on towards the class, my kid got her finger slammed by the door while going into the classroom after changing into her tap shoes. She immediately fell to the floor. While I'm holding my 2 year old, I yell out to my husband to go help my child who is on the floor in tears from the pain. Where is Miss Megan? Sitting on her bottom. The only thing she moved were her eyes. Not even a single intent to move her body to check on an injured child. This speaks volumes to how much she cares about the children she "teaches." Thank you to the owner, Christa (I'm gathering from yelp review replies), for offering an ice pack, as I'm fumbling to try to get a cold water bottle from the vending machine, and a bandaid for my inconsolable child. My kid's finger has a huge cut and her nail is black and blue, I wouldn't be surprised if the nail falls off during the healing process. I'd like this to serve as a reminder. These "dance teachers" are teaching CHILDREN. Children have immature brains and cannot process situations easily. They need to feel safe and nurtured and they need to feel like their basic needs can be met easily, such as having the freedom to use the bathroom when they need to or find their Mommy to blow their nose if they can't breathe through it. We will be finishing up this "season" of dance because my kid likes to perform, and we will be looking for a new studio that has a little more compassion and passion for teaching children. I'm a pediatric provider, and this is 100% NOT the way we should be treating our kids. As long as Miss Megan is a teacher at this school, there is no place for my children here.
