Welcome to a classic scenario of "you get what you pay for" in the form of a high quality coffee…read moreshop. This might be my favorite coffee shop in Milwaukee, but the overall experience might leave you more satisfied than anything else. The environment is modern with touches of vintage as the space is clearly set in an older building with upgrades and decor to match the current period. The seating options are comfy and the space is open. The front windows offer tons of natural light to make the space invigorating and fresh. It's hard to find a pour over coffee anymore because of the time and commitment involved in proper preparation. This place not only offers it but you can choose from over 20 options for this beverage! I went with a delightful cup of Ethiopian bliss and my heart was full. The prices are slightly high for the market and service is a bit slower compared to your typical shop. This is a place where you come to slow down and savor the experience as soon as you walk in the door. If you want quick and simple, go to the chain down the road. For an elevated experience that comes with quality product, make sure you stop here and experience it yourself.

If you're interested in my experience, keep reading. I arrived today 9/23/26 @ around 11am to have a meeting with a United States Navy Sailor in uniform. It was 3 of us at a table. Soon after we all arrived I got up from our chosen table to order at the counter. The young female barista was making a drink and Colin saw me. Eventually I went to go sit back down because I assumed they were busy. 15 minutes later Colin came over to our table, left a menu and muttered something. Soon after that, he came back again in the middle of our meeting and muttered something again. He repeated in a very agitated tone, "You guys can hang out but you have to order something". Two of us told him we tried to order earlier, to which he replied something along the lines of "well we're wide open now". I had genuinely never seen or heard a barista act this way. I thought he's just having a bad day from the way he's walking around the shop, so I told him I'd go right up to order. Later, Colin generously brought over my toast and I said "thank you so much" and "thank you" as he tossed my napkins on the table. He did all of this in silence. Soon after, he put up a hand written sign on the door that said "We close at 1". An odd experience, to say the least

I guess I haven't been here in 3 or 4 years because I noticed the remodel, which the hostess told…read moreme happened 3 or 4 years ago. I've been several times then, plus my visit today. The food and service has always been good. Today, we ordered Chilaquiles with Carnitas added in a verde salsa, Corned Beef Hash, and sides of hashbrowns and 2 pancakes (instead of toast). The Chilaquiles were very good and the over easy eggs were perfect. The carnitas were tender and nicely seasoned. The housemade corned beef cubes were tender and the diced pan fried potatoes had a nice latin seasoning blend. I just wish the hash had diced bell peppers and onions. I also wish the poached eggs I asked for with the corned beef hash were cooked properly. I was expecting the type of poached eggs that are like small balloons waiting to be popped so the egg yolk oozes out over the corned beef hash. These poached eggs were over-cooked and looked un-appetizing, but tasted fine. The hashbrowns were perfect - crispy and tender and properly seasoned! The side of pancakes were fluffy and absorbed the syrup quickly. Overall a good visit. The food was mostly on point, except for the disappointing poached eggs and lack of onions and bell peppers often found in a hash. If I go back, I'll stay away from their benedicts (since poached eggs are not executed correctly, and corned beef hash, and instead stick with the Chilaquiles.
