They roast their own fair-trade coffee right here in town, and you can taste the difference in every sip. The best part? The barista walked me through all the pour-over options like a coffee sommelier -- from bright, citrusy Ethiopian notes to smooth, cocoa-rich blends. You get to choose your own flavor journey, and it's honestly an experience every coffee lover should try. If you ever find yourself in Guelph, skip the chain and come here. You'll leave with caffeine, conversation, and probably a whole new appreciation for good coffee.

Why don't I ever see you here? And the answer, I'm afraid says that I probably need to go to the gym more often. You see, this is where I get my "Drive Through" Starbucks experience. Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to get out of the car, maybe it's because I'm in a hurry, or maybe it's a little of both. However, this is certainly not because this place lacks the ambiance of other Starbucks locations in the area. This Starbucks compares well to other locations in Kitchener-Waterloo in terms of providing a tasty beverages, friendly service and a cozy environment, when I have taken time time to go inside. It's just that 'd just rather not get out of my vehicle to enjoy my Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate in the dead of winter. And that's the truth.

They also have a do-it-yourself coffee adjustment station (I have been unable to get used to the Canadian coffeehouse propensity for fixing one's coffee for one -- "Um, I don't know how many creams I want; I just add cream until it looks and tastes right, honestly!") with REAL half-and-half (I also haven't been able to understand the milk fat percentage system, here -- there's 9%, 18%, 36% -- I just want some freakin' half-and-half, 'k?). Supposedly they now offer free wifi, but they haven't worked the kinks out, yet; will check back on that later. (You hear that, Starbucks? FREE wifi! *Plbbbbplbtt!*) I am going to have to work hard to resist the pretty, pretty pastries in the case this year, I can tell. They had a Pink Velvet cupcake with pink cream cheese frosting. In the summer I sit outside and smoke a pipe or cigar when it is quiet and dark. The coffee is always freshly brewed, and there are great spaces to study, read, or meet with someone. There is not a lot of turn over in the staff, so it is nice to get to know them. They are always super cheery, one time I was fighting with my girlfriend and the employee randomly offered me his couch! I didn't even know him! It was a nice gesture nonetheless. The pastries are fresh, and the place is always immaculate! My only suggest would be a bike rack. And I really don't like students who camp out and monopolize tables and outlets grrrr.

As we walked in, I noticed the open concept and minimal decor and fell in love with it! We were greeted by both the employees working right away and I must say, the customer service was perhaps the best part of the entire experience. We were never rushed to order as they gave us plenty of time to debate the menu and when it came time to order, the gentleman was very thorough and helpful with the sizes of drinks, explaining the milk alternatives which are free of charge, order was clarified to ensure it was correct - all in all, you could feel he took his time to get things right for us. When our iced matcha beverages were handed off, he realized he didn't let us know they come Una's a default and there, he offered simple syrup or vanilla syrup of our choosing since we do prefer our matcha sweetened. After tasting, we told him two pumps wasn't sweet enough and he kindly added more syrup for us. I personally ordered the seasonal white chocolate matcha as a hot beverage which was tasty but a little too sweet - I would request for half sweet next time. I also got the sea salt chocolate chip cookie as I couldn't resist (it looked so good in the pastry display!) It turned out to be absolutely delicious - the edges being the best part. My mom said it paired well with her Americano which was made with their Heritage blend. Speaking of which, before my mom ordered her coffee, she was offered to try their brew before buying which was really helpful as it ended up being too acidic for her. The Heritage blend was much more her preference with the nutty notes. All in all, a nice place to study and/or grab a coffee and snack to go! I'd highly recommend anyone to visit if in the area.
