This is our main Starbucks. We know the employees and they are wonderful!!! Nice and fast and always gets our order right. We like drive through or pickup because we work close by. The Staff here are friendly and seem to be working hard but the service is terribly slow. Like extremely! I typically order blonde roast and I love that no matter how early it is, this location always has a pot brewing. The drive-thru is typically busy with the morning rush so don't push your luck at this location, give yourself plenty of time. read more

Hate to do it but I've been patient for too long. This Starbucks is 1 of 3 I frequent a lot. They had a manager change around a year ago and it's a noticeable difference in a negative way. So this is a tardy downgrade. What's changed for the worse? ~new staff that is often just inept ~customer service weak ~dirty store, overflowing trash cans, debris outside ~drinks made incorrectly and not tasty ~restrooms not maintained What's changed for the better? ~ new furniture This once super store may be on life support soon. 2.5 rounding down. read more

The staff is so friendly and really good at their jobs. However I have one MAJOR complaint. It is absolutely FREEZING all the time. Winter, summer, spring or fall they have the air conditioning blasting. I went in one morning, it was 36 degrees, no heat at all. I would love to sit down and enjoy my latte but I can't because I am literally shaking because it is so cold. I emailed the District Manager and he said they were going to adjust the thermostat but I've seen absolutely no improvement. It makes zero sense for a coffee shop to be freezing in the winter. read more

Are all Starbucks the same? Yes. And no. This one is perhaps my favorite. Easy to find and park. Spacious inside. Plenty of tables and outlets for all. I go here often because it's the only coffee shop on my way to work, but it seems like they can never get it together. The line is always wrapped around the building and takes so long on top of that i'm almost never happy with the drink I get because it tastes different. Slowest Starbucks ever, otherwise great people. The rating is marked down solely for the wait times which are consistently atrocious.

The location is just past Wendy's and across from Havana & Citgo. Also a fellow helper posted a pic of the Great Neck Square shopping center sign that I found very helpful! This is the largest, most spacious location I have visited locally. I really like the dark wood furniture, the drive thru, the fact that the pre-packaged food items are on refrigerated shelving like a bookshelf. Great place for reading, solo study, bringing a study group! An abundance of outlets line the walls. The cashier was like every cashier I have ever come across in Starbucks. Friendly. Helpful. Accommodating. Ready to answer questions and give suggestions. Did not get frustrated with my indecisiveness. read more

Wait, what? A new Starbucks on Great Neck Road? Yay!!!! How did this slip past my radar? Maybe I've been spending too much time out of town lately. In any case, there it was, a nice shiny new Starbucks ready to serve up some liquid caffeine to soothe my savage Sunday Afternoon Beast. This was my second Starbucks stop of the day, the first being in Ghent. Wow, does this review seem rambly to you too? Let's get some facts out.... The inside seating area is open, inviting, and large! Plenty of Comfy Chairs, plenty of tables. Plenty of places to hook up the MacBook Pro and attempt to do actual work. That actual work is facilitated by the Free Google Provided WiFi! There is an outside seating area with a view of Great Neck Road and the cars going through the Drive Thru. Okay, not so much Yay here, but at least there are outside chairs. It is too early to tell if this is going to hit my local Starbucks rotation or not. The location isn't the greatest unless you are heading north on Great Neck. To approach from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the light. The staff seems friendly enough, but they haven't had time to get that Starbucks Service Flair under their collective belt yet. GIve it time, I'm sure it will happen. So yea, another Starbucks option. Who knew?? read more

This location is very spacious, has various seating options (small/large tables, couches, outside patio, and cushioned chairs), and friendly staff. I reduced a star because the cups for sale around the register had a layer of dust and some tables had sticky dried beverage spots and crumbs. read more

Tried to order several sandwiches on display none were in stock. Finally took one out of the cooler and ordered a café Americano. 10 minutes later after not getting my coffee I asked someone to help. Five minutes later still no coffee asked the manager for my money back. No apology offered, which I pointed out, still no apology. I pulled up to this location at 7am. There were about 10 cars in line for drive thru (not including those behind me) and 5 people waiting at the outside window. My first thought was oh great I am going to be here forever (I even called my boyfriend to vent about it). I cannot begin to tell you how efficient and FAST they were! Cheerful and genuine attitudes, a united team effort, I was out of the drive thru in less than 6 minutes. Unbelievable! I never write reviews and I was astounded at this morning's team. The staff is pretty courteous and polite unless they are slammed then it seems like your just getting pushed though as quickly as possible. love this starbucks location for many reasons. the barista's are so nice! i've had two different baristas help me craft a drink when i wasn't familiar with the menu (and i'm picky!). very thankful for their patience and willingness to help. i'm also a fan of the size of this location- inside there's plenty of seating (and plenty of outlets) as well as good wifi anywhere in the building. it's also well kept- clean areas and i've seen staff cleaning the dining area multiple times in my past three visits. nice job starbucks team! read more

I love this Starbucks. Not only is it close to my house but everyone is so nice and it has a great mixture of people and ages. WiFi is decent, place is always clean, great service, and consistently fast. The other thing I like is it's not overly loud if you need to make a call. read more

The original Starbucks Reserve location in Virginia Beach. Amazing service and the barista was very knowledgeable. On point coffee tasting notes for all their reserve coffees. This is a must for Reserve locations. Everyone was friendly and there was plenty of room to set up a laptop. Outdoor seating is nice too, but it is winter so I didn't partake. read more

Super rude employee named George first let me know that they were out of numerous drinks before he let me know that a certain drink's button was no longer on the screen that he would have to "create" the drink. He was pompous and rude and charged me more than I pay every other time I purchase the same drink. I won't be back and I will recommend everyone else I know chose a different Starbucks or company all together. George should find a job where he actually doesn't mind doing the work he is supposed to do and he definitely needs a touch up on customer service. I would have given negative reviews if allowed. This is a reserve location, the only one of its kind in Virginia Beach. They have all the rare exciting starbucks coffees that the other locations don't have and they make them on a clover machine. Definitely worth checking out if you're into brewed coffee. Super huge cafe also, perfect for spending a few hours in with a friend, doing homework, or relaxing. read more

This location is very slow. You sit in the drive-thru for a long period of time. You sit inside waiting for your drink forever. There is no sense of getting the customer in and out. They never apologize for the length of time it takes for them to give you your order. They take a long time to recognize a customer is waiting to place and order in the drive thru. I'm writing this review on this particular location, because it happens to be the location I just visited. Although this review was provoked by my experience at this location, this is an issue I have had at multiple locations in Hampton Roads. I order the same coffee drink every time...Triple Tall Flat White with one pump of mocha. It is rare that this drink is ever made correctly and when it is, it is at the Effingham location in Portsmouth, VA. I've ordered this same drink in other area's of the country, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, New Orleans, and it has been made correctly every time. 3 shots of espresso in a Tall size drink should be a pretty strong coffee drink. I don't like overly sweet drinks, so the 1 pump of mocha gives it just enough sweetness to cut the bitterness of the coffee without compromising the taste. Today this coffee that I ordered tastes like a very weak hot chocolate with no taste of coffee at all and this is nothing new. As I stated above, this review is really for all Starbucks in the area, or I guess in all fairness, the ones I have visited. The price of Starbucks coffee is ridiculous, but I have accepted it along with the up charges for the additional shot of espresso and the 1 pump of mocha. I do have an issue with the price, however, when I receive a "coffee" drink that has no coffee in it. I have to assume it's a training issue. I am not sure why I never have issues when I travel outside this area. I will say that the employee that took my order was very polite and friendly, but I still want my coffee to taste like coffee! read more
