Our drinks were the best! I don't normally visit Starbucks for drip coffee, I think theirs is gross. I come for the cold brew and stay for the Frappuccino's haha. Today's orders were vanilla Creme cold brew, Java chip Frap for the hubs and strawberry creme frap for the little. I placed the order through my ap, they were made quickly and tasted so good. Woke early. Drove to Slidell early for a cup of "designer coffee". Arrived before 6 a.m. and walked into the lobby. Very clean place, greeted warmly and with a smile. Walked to the counter to place my order. Young lady working the register was friendly and courteous. Placed my order, paid for my drink and was starting to move to the end of the counter when my "personal barista" (okay, I know they don't have personal baristas but I am claiming him anyway,) said, "ma'am, here is your coffee." What a great coffee to start the morning. As I sat doing my scribing, I was listening to a group of friends (baristas) sharing what they had done yesterday. Stopped in for drinks for the road home. Friendly staff. Cafe was filthy and not well stocked. Wait was longer than usual for the cafe being mostly empty. But the barista made chit chat while we waited. Parking is good for smaller vehicles. We were in a larger one traveling but managed to find some on the side. Fru Fru drinks for everyone! Located off the Airport Road Exit (Exit 80) from I-12, this Starbucks is quite convenient to those travelling on I-12. If exiting from the interstate it's located on the north side of I-12 right past the shell station on the right side when coming from the interstate. Now that you know where it is, lets get on to the rest of the review. This location has a drive-thru located around back and it's easy to enter and exit back towards the highway. I've always found service to be very friendly and prompt. I have even noticed less fru fru drink orders tying up the line, but that may be because I visit in the afternoon. If you visit at prime fru fru drink ordering time, you're likely to be stuck in a long line. My most recent experience was a pretty solid Starbucks visit except for one thing. My coffee was much more bitter than I am accustomed to. Don't get me wrong, I love it cold and bitter, but this cup almost tasted burnt. The food items my kids got were fine though as were their drinks. Maybe it was a bad batch of iced coffee or something. When you first walk in, the feel is typical feel of a Starbucks. Baristas wait till you get to the counter and then greets you. There are plenty of pastries to choose from. We went with marshmallow bar, hubby's favorite. I had a caramel flan frappuccino, 1/2 calf. Delicious! Merchandise on shelf was stocked and store looked nice and clean. I went through the drive through around 1:30 for a tomato & mozzarella panini, and I was first in line. For some reason, it took five minutes for the barista/ cashier to complete my transaction. He looked very, very confused and kept running back and forth. He handed me my food, but then he couldn't remember my payment instructions. I sent my wife here to get a frappuccino and the girl behind the counter was very rude to her she had my wife waiting to order and took someone else order before her. My wife been to a Starbucks only once before this so she doesn't know the menu. She ask the person register when she finally got to order about the menu and steadily proceed to have an attitude toward now I mind you my wife was the only minority in this establishment so I'm just curious if it was a race thing or this person register is just plain rude. If you're stopping there for hot coffee, you have a 50/50 chance of getting hot coffee. Ordered 2 coffees, one was perfect the other was cold and was supposed to be hot. Also ordered 2 food items and they didn't even give us napkins. Called to let them know that coffee was old and cold to spare the next person. I love the fact that they have a drive thru and that it always moves quickly! I have oft stopped here early in the AM after staying in good ole Slidell and they always get me in and out with friendly efficiency. The consistency of flavor in my drinks has varied from time to time but for the most part I'm satisfied. Have a long way to visit most of the Starbucks in the area, visited this one at 1100 on a Saturday. There were four people working on this visit and one taking her break, three were wearing their headsets so they could take orders from the drive through. Sometimes I have trouble getting a proper drink at Starbucks, seeing as how I am a former partner and I'm quite the stickler about recipes, particularly the shaken ice tea lemonade. They need to actually shake them in the shaker for it to taste right. Even then my experience is often hit or miss. Today, however, was spot on. A young man name Crimm, who takes an exceptional amount of pride in his work, made me the most excellent black tea lemonade I've had since I left doing the barista thing myself. Overall the Northshore Blvd Starbucks tends to stand out among all the Starbucks on the Northshore for quality drinks and quality service. I was exceptionally impressed today and felt someone should know about it. Incidentally a few hours after that visit I went back and an amazing young lady named Jah-nice made me a superb ice mocha.
