Hand down the best StarBucks! I have been frequenting Dunkin Donuts because the StarBucks in DC have been so off on a simply White Chocolate Mocha. Came in on 3/09/2019 on a Saturday evening, even though they were busy, I got my coffee in less than 4 minutes and it was PERFECT! Soooo I'm not sure what Starbucks has in their employee handbook about cursing and discussing personal and operational business on the floor, but the manager/supervisor here right now between about 2p-5p 3/19/2019 are cursing loudly and discussing who on the staff needs to get disciplinary action for not being trained properly, and a host of other seemingly inappropriate topics. Now, they were pleasant in taking my order and getting my refill, but the cursing and fussing was very distracting while I caught up on some work at a small table on the side of the bar. That cursing has to stop. It's very unprofessional even of there are only 3-5 of us here working/chilling/sipping. Everything else was pretty standard Starbucks flow. No other highlights. read more

Although they officially opened on June 10th, this morning they held their ribbon cutting ceremony. Free drinks and food for the first 1/2 hour were passed around (I didn't notice any food though). There was a small crowd; mostly Chamber of Commerce and Sheraton folks, but I did notice quite a few soon to be regulars typing away on their laptops. There is a small alcove with booths, and covered patio tables out front on Georgia Avenue. However, since this Starbucks is located in the Sheraton Hotel, you can grab a drink and sit in the swanky lounge. Today was a bit hectic in there, but I bet on a normal day it would be more peaceful. The staff is great, and the manager, Marie was very friendly and helpful. I know what you might be saying, "Why would I go to a hotel for a coffee?" There is a large [metered] parking area in the back ($1.00/hr), and the outside tables are nice if it's not too hot. Given the fact that you can order a drink and sit in the lounge is a huge plus. Wi-Fi is free, using the Sheraton's pass code. Heck, I may even be back to visit their lounge bar/cafe, Mica for happy hour, but that will be another review in the making. read more

This Starbucks is inside the Sheraton hotel. I stayed at the Sheraton last week and came here for breakfast every morning. The baristas are very friendly and the service is fairly quick. They were not always fully stocked on food items, like fruit cups or parfaits, but other than that I was happy with this Starbucks. read more

I love an occasional Starbucks splurge, but, this location is not up to standard. Tables are not cleaned as often as they should be and I actually saw a cockroach roaming the bench seating while there. Eek! Thank goodness the coffee is just as good as usual. I recommend taking your joe to go and sitting in the lobby bar of the attached Sheraton - which is very nice. read more

They are quick and make tasty drinks. Most of their staff is great, and has everything under control. There is only one member of their staff that forgets to make drinks and heat up pastries & sandwiches. I usually avoid going there when I see that staff member, because we all end up waiting an extra 20 minutes for order. read more

This spot is nestled in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel on Georgia Ave, so look for the hotel otherwise you will miss it. Small but clean and prompt service. Not a ton of seating but more than enough with street views and free wifi. Breakfast sandwiches are tasty if your in a time crunch. read more

I used to love coming here all the time but since they have changed management and staff all has changed. Prior to these last few months the hospitality I received from this location was through the roof. Staff knew my name,order and was super friendly. Over the past few months the staff seems to have a hard time getting drinking orders correct and don't seem to care. I've been there 3 times the past few weeks and they were closed super early without any notice of the new hours. This is disappointing since I have an evening job and look to go there before work. I love this Starbucks! My boyfriend and I are staying at the Sheraton so it was close by. We had breakfast there this morning and it was delicious! We both had the double smoked bacon croissant and enjoyed every bite. The service was fast and employees were friendly. I like that this is across the street from where I live!!! But, the drinks are not made like they are at a regular starbucks, I ordered a green tea latter frap and it still had large chunks of the powder throughout the drink. My bf picked up drinks there a week ago and my skinny vanilla latte was subpar and below the standard at regular stand alone starbucks. It is owned by the hotel and you can not redeem starbucks rewards here either. There are very limited food options only pastries as of the last time I went. I do love it as it has free internet, is relatively quiet and not busy and I can use it as a place to study and hang out for the convenience and location. I will be back, but I hope the drinks improve. read more

Usually good service but because they are attached to the Sheraton Hotel you can't order online. That's kind of a drag especially if the lines are long. You also CANNOT use your points towards a purchase. But if you have any, ASK if you can use them anyway, you might get a pleasant surprise. Much better than the other location on Ellsworth! I like the outside patio seating here. Its set down so you can actually relax outdoors without 101 people shuffling by like the other place. They also have booths inside if you prefer not to be outdoors. I stopped here on a Sunday. I got a park right out front and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. This location does open up into the lobby of the hotel but it still contained enough to feel like you're just at a Starbucks. The staff was really friendly- a Starbucks trade make that some other locations forget. This IS a welcomed addition to downtown Silver Spring. I may actually drink Starbucks on the weekends know that I don't have to go through an obstacle course to get my drug..excuse me I mean my coffee. read more

Came to this Starbucks for coffee, ended up leaving with a coffee and a tomato mozzarella Panini. Sounds amazing g right. Well here we go. I am a construction worker and I had to go go go, the ordering was fast and coffee is delicious but when I went to eat the panini I could not help but notice the lack of tomatoes. I just want to warn everyone of the panini and tomatoes and mozzarella. I could not take it back due to I had to eat before I passed out, so I could not return the food. read more

Always excellent service in the afternoons. It's a nice place tied to the hotel which gives you great seating options. Usually I walk to this location so I'm not sure what the parking is like. This one is a little further for me than the metro Starbucks but I come here for the atmosphere, inside and out. This Starbucks is inside of a hotel so it's already intriguing and dark. When I walked in the woman in front of me was complaining that her latte was not made correctly. I was cool with that and they promised to make her a whole new drink but my issue came when I was walked up to the counter and the woman open drink was sitting on the counter and not one soul tried to move it! I said something nicely to the barista and she said that's her drink. Then when I kept staring in disbelief she finally exclaimed "that's actually not her drink that's trash" and removed it from the counter. Finally we could start fresh. I went to order and she walked away to talk to the woman about her new drink while I stood waiting to order. I finally ordered two drinks one with Splenda the other without. Both were nasty and I don't know how you make teavana tea nasty! It's okay I had business to attend to so I took my drink and kept moving. read more

The young man who frequently works the mid-morning shift (I'm sorry I haven't asked his name yet) is one of the best Starbucks employees I've encountered. When their blonde roast is out he offers to hand-make a single serving for me by grinding the beans and doing a pour over. And today, when I had to wait for the latest batch to brew, he provided excellent customer service. A+ for him. Only 4 stars for the location because my colleagues and I have had some questionable drinks prepared by others in the past. read more

I love this location. The staff are so on point. When I walk in the door they don't even ask what I want they already know because I get the same thing every time sometimes before they get to me my order is on the counter ready for me to pay. Not putting me before anyone they just put my order in. Not to mention I want it done like no one else. I've given this Starbucks several chances -- they're just downstairs from our new offices, so I want to be able to go there -- but they continue to fail. Even ignoring the fact that they can't use the app, don't take gift cards and don't need to follow corporate standards (it's in a hotel, so it's a franchise), the abysmal service has finally done them in for me. I stood around for 5 minutes waiting for my food item while the person not on the register slowly, albeit thoroughly, cleaned one of the coffee machines, completely oblivious to orders that needed to be filled. I'd forgive some of the other shortcomings, but this place is just too slow and poorly run (maybe under staffed or under trained?) for me to ever step foot in again. read more

So I went the starbucks right by the Sheraton at where I am staying. I went there for a large latte with soy milk because I cant have regular milk. The person that did my drink, her name was Fevn, I didn't quite get her last name but I had told her I cant have regular drink, just to be sure so I asked her if my latte had soy milk and not regular milk. She said yes, but when I had tasted it, it didn't taste like it so I had asked her again reassuring her I will get sick and she had so much attitude and she responded with "i said yes" so I said okay if you are sure, and I left. As soon as i left my hotel to catch my flight, I started feeling sick. I cant believe why people can be this selfish, there's a reason I asked 1 to 3 times. This Starbucks is conveniently located in the Sheraton hotel and an easy work from my home. I often stop in for a little pick me up during the day however, the service leaves much to be desired. I rarely make negative reviews but today I was so disappointed in the service I felt the need to make it know. I only drink one drink at Starbucks and they have been out of the ingredients for almost a week now. Instead of offering to make me something with a similar favor profile they treated me as if I was in the wrong for requesting a drink from the menu. The manager was in the store and her presence alone seem to be so distracting for the associates it took them several minutes to take my order then they acted as if I should not have even bothered them. I am very disappointed and doubt I will be returning. The entire time I was there they were deciding what to have for lunch. read more

The location of this Starbucks is the best. Right next to the Sheraton on Georgia it's close enough to the downtown attractions yet far enough away to enjoy sunny weather in peace. The entrance is below Street level, so the outdoor seating area is cool and quaint secluded from the hustle and bustle. The staff are always friendly and helpful. read more

Even though sometimes this store can be short staffed, I have to say it has some of the most friendly staff I have encountered. They make it a priority to get to know their customers, their names, and their drink orders. I have been coming here for about a year now and I have to say Lucas, Lorenzo, and Tracy treat me like their family. I do think it can be a distraction to customers and the employees when other hotel employees dressed in suits and such come behind the counter to take my order, just a note. I rarely ever have a drink problem, but if there ever is this rare occurrence, then they re make the drink without hesitation and a smile. This is some of the worst customer service and quality I've seen in a Starbucks. It's not an official Starbucks, as it's run by the Sheraton, so they're not up the Starbucks mediocre standards. The manager is as unfriendly and unaccommodating as the staff, and the turnover is high. When they get things wrong they are defensive and you never get a "sorry" or definitely never a free drink for your inconvenience. Staff seems to be insufficiently trained in customer service and quality/consistency of beverage. I work next door and go there often, so I've really tried to be extra diplomatic in my rel'ship with the employees, but it comes down to me leaving there feeling badly for asking for my $5+ drink to be precisely what I ordered. Also, they are VERY slow - chatting when a beverage needs to be made, or fixing themselves a glass of water, or cleaning up while my beverage sits there waiting to be handed to me or finished off. read more

This is the WORST Starbucks in the area, if you're in downtown silver spring just walk the few blocks to the Ellsworth location or go to the location by the metro station. Customer service is crap, baristas get upset when THEY get your drink order wrong, no one says thank you or hello even when faced with a kind customer. I've stopped trying to be nice here because I feel stupid being kind who are just plain rude to me. I only give this Starbucks my business because it's across the street from where I work and I thought the baristas would eventually shape up since this is a new location. Today was the last straw, I ordered a grande iced vanilla chai and a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. About five or six people who ordered AFTER me got their drink before I did do when a chai tea latte came up on the counter, I asked the barista if an iced vanilla chai was coming up soon. She replied that it wasn't ready yet. Eventually (3 drinks later) she presented an iced chai- no vanilla I explained that I had paid for the vanilla syrup and she made my drink again. How does someone mess up an iced vanilla chai, ask this barista. It tasted like twice as much chai mix and I still can't taste the vanilla. And the cup was 4/5 ice. By this time I had waited ten minutes for my drink and my sandwich STILL wasn't ready. I saw another barista by the oven and I thought she must be working on my sandwich when she removed several bagels and I noticed the oven was empty I went up to the counter. The barista who took my order asked if I was still waiting for something, clearly he had forgotten my sandwich. I explained that I never got my bacon sandwich. He ACTUALLY rolled his eyes, turned around and pulled a sandwich from the freezer and put it in the oven. About (no exaggeration) a minute and a half later he stood at the counter said 'ma'am' when I thanked him he turned around and said nothing. I'm still kicking myself for even saying thanks. This place is an embarrassment to the Starbucks brand. read more
